After suffering with plantar fasciitis in both feet since Dec 2021 it reached a debilitating level of pain in February 2022. Throughout the summer of 2022 I attended numerous NHS physiotherapy sessions and followed the repetitive exercises advised - these seemed to make my feet worse not better. In desperation I finally gave up with the NHS physiotherapy and decided to investigate other treatments for it. Don’t waste your money on night splints, foot wraps, home high frequency wave gadgets - none of these are as effective as Shockwave Therapy (I tried them all). After a chance conversation with a friend who had been treated by Steve a few years previously, I called Steve at Midlands Shockwave & Physiotherapy Clinic in October 2022. I had an incredibly useful and reassuring chat with him – in fact this was the first time I felt that someone had properly explored the whole problem and listened to my specific details. I attended Steve for 3 sessions of Shockwave Therapy spread over a few weeks in November 2022. After the first session there was a slight improvement, a little more improvement after the second session and a lot of improvement after the third session. The improvement continued over the next few weeks (without further Shockwave treatments) and by Christmas I was able to walk for a continuous 45 mins without this resulting in pain, which is something I hadn’t been able to do for over a year. The improvements continued into 2023. I can’t really remember exactly when I could finally stop considering everything I did / any plans I made in terms of what I thought my feet could cope with – but I think it was mid-February 2023. Plantar fasciitis isn’t just pain in your foot / feet - it’s a whole drain on your mental state because you can’t do all the things you took for granted before. The sensation of the treatment is weird at times, a bit like an intense knock to your funny bone (but in your feet), but that only lasts for a second and only happens now and then during the treatment cycle. Steve is a lovely guy and I completely trusted that his approach was the right approach for me. If you have plantar fasciitis talk to Steve about it and then just get on and have the Shockwave Therapy if that is what he recommends. I wish I’d had the chance conversation with a friend six months earlier and got on with living normally six months earlier. Thankyou Steve! I had a really serious issue of frozen shoulder due to long hours of a sedentary job during Covid in 2021. Despite cortisone, the pain was excruciating affecting my work and overall quality of life. He has profound depth of knowledge in this domain and was quick to bring me out of the acute pain phase and steadily helped me regain mobilty and range. I visited Midlands Shockwave and Physiotherapy clinic for several months. I was treated by Steve. He was so very patient and understanding. He tried lots of different treatments including shockwave, manipulation and suggested various exercises, giving me an exercise plan to work to. All of which massively helped improve my conditions. I have all sorts of issues going on but I can honestly say he really helped. Having had a steroid injection, he worked with me and the orthopaedic surgery helping me gain strength and mobility back. I soon began to feel much stronger, confident a and able to get back on with my life. I would recommend him and feel confident that I could see him and get the help I need if I needed to again in the future.

My son underwent SWT following sustaining a football injury. He had already undergone 4 months physio, OT intervention and acupuncture and still was unable to return to running or football. My son had 2 courses of SWT and Steve was excellent, building a rapport with my son, but ok time to understand the problem and the treatment was effective all that was required was some patience on our part to allow the treatment to take effect . I can highly recommend Steve of Midland Shockwave & Physiotherapy. I slipped and fell on a wet floor and damaged tendons and muscles in my leg. Despite lengthy bedrest, painkillers and a moderate exercise regime, little progress was made. On my first visit to Steve I felt reassured that physiotherapy with him at the clinic would ameliorate the problem. I was recommended to Steve as part of my rehabilitation after a very bad ankle break. Steve is extremely informative, instructions on home exercises were clear and very structured and he was always available if I needed to contact him to clarify anything. I was referred to Steve when I developed knee problems with pain in bending, and walking up and down the stairs.
