If you want to buy something just a little bit special, Mill Hill Wines on the Broadway is the go-to, every time. Every time I have gone in, the three different gentleman that I've met behind the counter have been so incredibly knowledgeable. And helpful. And passionate about what they do. And passionate about helping you find the right thing if you're buying as a gift for yourself or somebody else. They seem to know the background of every single bottle that they stock, where it came from, how it was made, what makes it unique, how it tastes, how it is differentiated from anything else… The staff are just the most incredible professionals who have a huge pride in what they do and what they sell. They are masterful storytellers and it is always a delight to buy from them because I can then pass on the story of the heritage of the bottle to the person to whom I am gifting the purchase, which just really adds to the uniqueness and "specialness" of the gift. It is absolutely no surprise that they are 40 years in business! Love the shop, love their work and what they do, and buying from them is worth every penny. Cheers to the next 40!

There is something special about being on first name terms with the people who work in the stores you frequent and shopping local is very important to me. The fact is, not many local stores have the selection that I’m looking for. But when it comes to whisky, it’s clearly evident that the team at MHW are as passionate as I am. You’ll not find the stuff you can pick up in Sainsburys or Waitrose here. Rather a bespoke, refined and specialist collection that’ll take you on a rollercoaster ride around the wonderful world of whisky. From scotch, to bourbon to Asian whiskies, the selection and pricing is absolutely fantastic! There’s something for every budget, every occasion and every palate. What’s more the team are very experienced and extremely welcoming. This is a store worth spending your time in.

Best wine shop I have been to. Went in yesterday to pick up 2 bottles of whisky ordered over the phone through Mark. Service is fantastic dealt with Andy in the shop and Mark (or was it Marcos so sorry didn’t hear the name properly). Very reasonably priced and very knowledgeable. Ended up buying another bottle of whisky and 3 bottles of wine. Very good selection of Whiskies and Wine. I am so glad I have finally found the right place to buy my whiskies. Thanks guys.

I've been enjoying wines, beers and gin from Mill Hill Wines for nearly 10 years. Never had a bad bottle and always appreciate the team's knowledge and enthusiasm for their products. You can't beat customer service like this, and I'm especially pleased the shop is open and delivering locally during the lockdown - quality wines are making the experience a lot easier! Today's delivery came just a couple of hours after I placed it! I won't buy wine from anyone else.

I really enjoy visiting this store, they stock so many different type of drinks, i find myself wanting to try everything! The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, I have always had a pleasant experience every time i have visited. A good selection of every type of alcoholic drink you require, and some cigars too but I haven't had the occasion to purchase on from there yet. Definitely my go-to shop anytime I need to buy some craft beers or scotch.

I have been a customer here since we moved to the area around 12 years ago. It is a gem of a local business ably run by Andy and assisted by Mark. Quality wines, champagne and spirits and is my go to place for Christmas, birthdays or any special occasion needing alcohol A wealth of knowledge of their products also helps. Long may they continue.

My favourite store on Mill Hill Broadway. A great selection of wines, beers, and especially whiskies! They also occasionally do very educational (and inevitably enjoyable) whisky, gin, rum and tequila tasting evenings, with experts from actual distilleries present. The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable and helpful. A great place!

Oh what a little Gem of a place. Great selection of wines, spirits, crafts basically all your alcohol needs. Prices are superb and they even have a great selection of Cuban cigars. You cannot complain about the service and selection. If you live in the area you're already a regular.

A smile from the staff would be nice. Morose and unhelpful employees.. felt I was in a funeral parlour rather than a shop... Been in quite a few times now..customer service is non existent... Happy to say I have now found somewhere else that actually values their customers..

Great shop! As a vegan it can be hard to find wines that are suitable but these guys know their stuff! And even have a key for vegan alcohol. Also went here to buy a special wine as a thank you gift and the staff were very knowledgeable about flavours etc

A well stocked wine merchants and off licence. They are currently my go to outlet for malt whiskey (Glen Elgin). They are a friendly bunch and have great product knowledge.
