Millennium Station will always have a special place in my heart! Being that it services the Metra Electric line and the South Shore line, it has a different setup from all the other stations. It also has two separate ticket offices and two separate terminals: One for Metra, one for South Shore. As far as amenities go, they've got a Burger King, a Subway, a Starbucks, a bar, and a popcorn shop! They've also got the best location, right underneath Michigan Avenue, with convenient access to the Washington/ Wabash L station, several bus routes at Michigan and Randolph, Millennium Park, and the Magnificent Mile. Unlike the other stations, you don't find out which track your train leaves on until 10 minutes prior to departure. Also, know that some trains go to different destinations, as they have three branches (University Park, South Chicago, and Blue Island). Many stops on the south side of Chicago are flag stops, meaning that the train will only stop if you notify the conductor. All trains make the Hyde Park stops: 51st/ 53rd and 55th/56th/57th, and all Blue Island and main line (University Park) trains make the 115th/ Kensington stop

Just about every time I am at Millennium Station, it's because I'm (finally) getting off the South Shore train after a seemingly never-ending trip from South Bend, IN. If you've ever been to South Bend, IN, I have no doubt that you'd agree that Millennium Station would be the equivalent of a lush and beautiful oasis of the heavens to the desert traveler who had been wandering for weeks in the desert while starving and being picked at by vultures attempting to rip the flesh off your bones. It's amazing and saddening all at once that the amenities available in this train station's tiny square footage (banks, Starbucks, clean restrooms just to name a few) easily outnumber the entire city of South Bend, IN. Exiting right onto Michigan Avenue and all of Chicago's glory, and the fact that it was featured in "The Dark Knight" movie are two of many other amenities that I brag about to the illiterate gangster wannabe's and slumlords back in Indiana. This place is a literal breath of fresh air to me, and I find myself often counting the minutes until my next return to this little slice of paradise.

I like this place because, like so many other transit stations, it is a crossroads for people of all walks of life going about their business. This is a hidden, underground oasis below a busy city intersection where travelers begin their journey to or from city business. This place is generally clean, filled with lots of travelers and also a great spot to grab a meal, a coffee, a bouquet of flowers or do some banking. There is lots of convenience here below Michigan Avenue. Finally, this place is also an entry spot to Chicago's underground pedway. Head west underground and you never know where you"ll come up next!

This is my favorite train station. Why? Because it's so clean! There's also security at night so you can feel safe if you're travelling alone. There's a Starbucks, Subway and a Taco Fresco too. Not world class dining options, but good enough to grab something on the go. Most employees are extremely helpful if you have any questions. Don't forget to get a weekend pass if you're going on Saturday or Sunday. It's pretty much the cost of one fare and you can use it an unlimited # of times on the weekend.

This station never lets me down! I come into this station everytime I want to go downtown because it is right at the heart of all of the cool spots in Chicago! The bean, Maggie Daley Park, Chicago Cultural Center all within walking distance in minutes! Could get crowded on days where there are many parades & events going on. I commend all of the workers at the restaurants/bars because on days like that they have to deal with a lot of people who are intoxicated & they are good sports about it!

So... the train situation at Millenium Station is kinda wonderful. They're on time and clean and all the rest (well, minus the weird people who clip their nails on the train), and the conductors are mostly nice. The shops in there though... could use a little help. Starbucks' customer service is way better than their coffee, but the rest seem to be lacking. I was at Subway this morning, and service was rather brusque. But... otherwise it was alright. The trains though... they're wonderful.

This is for Notre Dame, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago cubs, Chicago White Sox fan. This is the best transportation in the country because it would save you lots of time from traffic, also save you lots of money from gas and parking lots. Anyway Metra and Shoreline train provide a nice price ticket, you won't spend over 30$ unless you bring family or friend. You would take a CTA or lyft/Uber to the game after you get off Train station. I hope this help!

" THE MOTHER OF ALL TRANSPORTATION HUB'S " ! Really convienent , all-purpose venue to Eat , Rest , Use the Facilities (Free w/o any purchases) . Multi - Transportation cite , South Shore & Metra downstairs . Various CTA Bus Routes and Several Train Stations upstairs in adjacent area . Then , an incredible amount of Poignant Landmarks within walking distance . Plus all the Shopping Venue's nearby . This area is probably one of my favorite locations in our City !

The conductors and other staff are always helpful, the station is spacious and there is an accessible ticket window. However, none of the doors that we must go through with our guys and their power wheelchairs are automated/wheelchair-user accessible. Also, the doors to elevators close too fast. Lastly, it would be nice if the restrooms had an adult-size changing table. Not all wheelchair users are continent or able to self-cath.

Pretty normal at Millennium Station with extra covid procedures in place. Hand sanitizing stations and reminders to social distance are plentiful. I ate in the seating area while waiting on the train and everyone around me kept their masks on. You must wear a mask on the train, but you can take a drink and remove your mask briefly to do so. Chicago is strict and it shows, the people seem to be following the rules here.

  • Peter Meulbroek

The pandemic was not kind to millennium station. Traffic is significantly down from pre-pandemic peak, and it feels dirty, under-used, and not very safe. I am not a fan of the underground commuter rail station: e.g., Penn station in NYC is a nightmare, and millennium now feels like a smaller version of Penn. My least-favorite of the Chicago rail stations. A bit sad, given the station's history.

  • Shaun 87

I love the shopping area of Millennium, There's even a bar with to-go cups. BUT the section of the station where the trains actually r is like a scene from a horror movie. Plus the temperature down there is in the upper 90s in the summer. But my biggest issue is that some of the pilars are falling apart. There is a skyscraper building on top of the station, i hope they are not weight bearing.

Great way to travel in and out of Chicago.. Its a fraction of the average parking cost at most hotels and you do not have to risk the damage of trying to drive in the congestion Chicago traffic and pay the parking fees if you do drive and park somewhere else. The food options are fair, but I didn't go there to eat so it was a pleasant surprise to see food at all.

  • Ian Simington

The people working at the restaurants here are cheerful and friendly! I was there two days ago and I ate at Subway and then grabbed a drink at Starbucks. The staff at both restaurants were very kind to me. Great start to the New Year! The sandwich at Subway was fresh and the hot drink at Starbucks was just what I needed on that freezing cold day!

  • Sophie Crash

This station is clean, well-lit and convenient. It's been recently redone and has many conveniences including fast food and a Starbucks. Coming downtown into this station is great because it's so close to Millennium Park and all the other amenities that surround the area. Within a few blocks you're sure to find entertainment even late at night.

  • Bhushan

I visited the station this weekend during my visit to Chicago. It was quiet for the most part with not a lot of rush. The station has an accompanying food plaza area with various outlets like Starbucks, Sbarro's, etc. The area looks clean-ish and is easily accessible. Parking is slightly limited but on less busy days you can find one!

  • Danielle Hertz

I think it's a nice station, food and bathroom available. The desk helpers could be a little more .... helpful especially when you haven't used public transit before. Overall, nice versus many other stations. Please, keep your security tight as there are people who will harass riders and follow them.

  • Daniel

Above and beyond a clean and compact travel hub to South Bend, University Park or 93rd Street. Though it’s significantly smaller and appears more dated than Union Station or Ogilvie, service is brisk and there are a variety of food places, as well as access to Chase ATMs inside.

  • Joseph G Medina

I have to ride to Hammond every Tuesday for classes at my Churches Bible Institute College. South Shore Train. It only takes an hour as opposed to taking Red line to 95th then transfer and transfer on the CTA. That takes two hours or so. The South Shore Train 1 hour.

  • james butler

It's ok nothing too special. It is what it is. It is a underground train station with places to eat but not much more. You can get some food but not much other activities. Make sure you go there about the time your train is leaving or else you will get bored quick.

  • Juhyeong Song (Zone Snou)

  • John Meyer

This is the dirtiest and foulest train station I have ever witnessed. Aside from the filth, you have to deal with the deranged individuals screaming obscenities. The restrooms are more often than not "out of order", not that you would

  • The Fare Player

While functional and simple (with very frequent trains), the station has a weird underground partially lit vibe that I could never really enjoy. Yes, the station does it’s job just fine, but it’s hard to shake of the creepy vibe of it.

  • Jim Withington

The main hallways here are like a retro-futuristic-overstimulating nightmare, but you can avoid those halls if you get off of the south shore and head straight to the pedway. More bustling than Van Buren, in a good way.

  • Anthony Freeman

If you're not gonna leave at the time you post on the app, why in GOD'S NAME would you choose to leave earlier. That's zero sense. Was suppose to be in a 10:15 train, get here at 10:10 and the train is already gone.

  • raquel ruiz

The floors are sticky, employees are rude, the station is full of homeless people! The women's bathroom by the BK smells horrible. A homeless woman was sleeping in the stalls the smell was overbearing.

  • Mikie Hernandez

The people that work the ticket counter are consistently rude for literally no reason at all. This isn't based on one instance by the way. This is daily observation for almost nine months straight now.

  • Ruth Krieger

Traveled the South Shore train from South Bend-visited the restroom in the morning, no complaint, visited in the late afternoon...oh my goodness, not so good. Other parts of the station looked good.

  • Jamie Yoder

Only complaint about Millennium Station is the handicap elevator smelling strongly of urine. So bad it makes me nearly vomit. Unfortunately, do to ankle and foot surgery, I have resort to using it.

  • Jesse Wilson

Great place! There are lots of places for did giving a good diversity asking with a convenience store! There are ticket agents and automatic ticket machines. Lots of helpful and friendly people!

  • yuri daich

The station is a point of access to the center of the City. It looks a bit scary, but you get used to it. It has a number of fast food restaurants. WC. and connected to the underground parking.

  • Nayra Perez Carreno

The station for the train (redline) if you wanna go to the Museum of Art and Science, around just in the corner you find the park Millennium park, in the winter there is also a skate ring ⛸

  • Sean Augustine-Obi

No signs to the entrance on Randolph. You’re expected to wander down an unmarked staircase down an unlabeled hallway to find the station. Unbelievable this is supposed to be a terminal hub.

  • Matteo Rossi

Station is very clean, has a lot of options, and has nice staff. The desk lady's are always so kind and helpful and makes it a pleasant experience. Great deals for active military as well.

  • David vasques

El lugar cuenta con baños, medidas sanitarias, pero las personas que ahí acuden son de mal aspecto algunas, se siente algo inseguro el estar esperando el trak, debería haber más seguridad

  • Doug Wilhelm

This place is great. Beautiful architecture, simple hallways, and plenty of food options. I've made many memories in and around this station, and hope it's around for many years to come.

  • Crystal Lefoy

Typical train station that smells of unmentionables and home to outdated trains - but none the less it was a smooth ride on the south shore train to Gary, In. Will definitely ride again.

  • Stewart “bowlofstew” Henderson

The best station to get on if you are headed eastbound on the South Shore train line to Indiana. If you get on at Van Buren, you typically risk not getting a seat on rush hour trains.

  • Brent Helwig

Spent many years going in and out of this station...so nice since it's been redone! It needed it badly. Restaurants now are great! Nice to able to grab something for the ride home.

  • Amber Redmond

First time I have ever been on a train and it was a very smooth ride! The employees were great and helpful with my questions. Highly recommended for a great time in Chicago.

  • Olivia Macino

It is nice doesn't smell but when ur trying to find the station it was confusing to me trying to find it at night then their is the Amtrak right inside so be careful lol

  • peoplecallmeearl

I would give it 5 stars but the bathrooms by the platforms smell like pee and the other ones are always closed, but they have a good breakfast spot so it gets a pass.

  • Seiten Schneider

Well it's a train station for metro electric. Nice atmosphere though and I like how the interior is set up, looks very modern. Food court, drinks can be gotten.

  • Tom Z

It's a train station. It may not be fancy like Union Station. The station is well organized. The people were helpful and friendly. The place was clean.

  • Geradessiel Simon

Unusual, Extraordinary!! My first time! My spirit-soul-body benefited! Everything was conveniently located. Felt safe, thankful to my LORDGOD!

  • Abhishek Bafna

Wonderful atmosphere and a big crowd! The OAT is a nice place for a picnic. Public rest rooms available just near the stage area on the right.

  • Natalie Shields

I like they have stores/restaurants, and even a bar here! It’s very convenient, especially when waiting for a train and needing to pass time.

  • George McCann

I went to buy a ticket at the window and the place Smells like Urine! It smells worse than a pig farm. Plus you have bums hanging around.

  • Danielle Sr.

Would have given 5 stars but sometimes you will encounter crazy stuff from all the homeless people. If you have to go please be careful.

  • Justin Hernandez

Metra doesnt make riders wear masks and doesnt actually care about you or your safety. Protect yourself and your kids, dont take Metra.

  • Mister biG'r

The foods and drinks, the music and dancing, the laughter and Commraderie, exciting live shows and up close magic daily!

  • Carlos Moreno

Lugar limpio, cuenta con baños, zona de descanso, de alimentos y de bebidas para pasar el rato mientras tomas tu viaje

  • Curtis Bolt

It's a busy train station where you can catch the Metra or South Shore trains. Also there are several places to eat.

  • Angela Lopez

Me sentí insegura, es el colmo que siendo una ciudad tan grande como Chicago, permitan la entrada de indigentes

  • Jamie Goszewski

I love the fact that the train has a "quiet car." That's where I usually sit on my ride home from work.

  • Stephen Romero

Kinda sketchy and the bathrooms close at annoying times later at night, but its still a train station.

  • Josh Williams

Go see Angela. She will help you with any questions along the way. She is the information goddess.

  • Will Tyler

When are you going to replace those horrible bathrooms? Everything else is looking pretty nice.

  • Rich

Nice station. Good choices of food and drinks wether your coming or going. Bathrooms.

  • C Sullivan

I like to watch people from inside the Starbucks going to and from the train station.
