  • "Mimi’s is really great! So great in fact, that I went back three weeks in a row after trying them for the first time What I love about Mimi’s donuts is that they aren’t too heavy (which I find is the case with so many gourmet donut shops where if you eat half a donut you need a nap) and they are very reasonably priced! A dozen costs you like $30 including tax (and they are generously sized) The blueberry cheesecake donut and apple fritter are the two best donuts I’ve ever had! The boston creams and raspberry jam are also super filled and delicious! Last weekend I pre-ordered a dozen and they were still warm when I picked them up (I tried one of the glazed when it was still warm and fresh and it was a flavour experience!)"

"Gourmet donuts that taste like traditional coffee shop donuts! A lot of “fancy” donut places donuts tastes like cake and not even real donuts - these have all the nostalgia"

"The place looks very cute and the doughnut selection looked appealing, however the cashier lacked knowledge with regards to running a coffee shop, and so I chose not to experience Mimi's"

"Your yeast donuts are lovely, but there are never any left"

"The first time I picked up a cronut to try from Mimi's it was rather very dense and just plain bad"

Highly recommend Mimi’s if you want some old-fashion homemade donut shop donuts! Pre-ordering is probably a good idea because it allows you to make your own selection!

Gourmet donuts that taste like traditional coffee shop donuts! A lot of “fancy” donut places donuts tastes like cake and not even real donuts - these have all the nostalgia. I also think they have the broadest assortment of flavours in the Ottawa area and their season flavours are amazing and constantly changing! I never made it in for fall but I specifically went for their Christmas flavours and they were impossible to choose just 6! Worth the trip to Manotick - make sure you go early as the flavours sell out! My other pro tip buy is to buy and drop off half a dozen as a birthday or special occasion treat for friends and family for a unique and thoughtful present while supporting local.

The place looks very cute and the doughnut selection looked appealing, however the cashier lacked knowledge with regards to running a coffee shop, and so I chose not to experience Mimi's. Specifically, I asked for a taste of the light and dark roasts (a taste is literally a swallow of coffee, so that the customer can determine if that roast pleases their palate), and young woman staffing the place insisted that was not something they did there (although she didn't look like she truly understood what I was asking). As a large family had come in behind me (the place is quite small), I chose to leave versus try to explain myself. Needless to say, it was a disappointing experience.

Your yeast donuts are lovely, but there are never any left. Was able to get my hands on a honey glazed the first time I went and this is the reason I check back weekly. My first experience in May was great. I may stop going out of my way to visit as more and more recently ive made the trip out and theres been nothing in stock. Also a suggestion, boxes would be very helpful for take out. I ordered three donuts and they were all placed in individual bags. All three lost their fondant to the bag. I wont leave a bad review cause i really want to like Mimis - but some small changes could be done to make this place great.

The first time I picked up a cronut to try from Mimi's it was rather very dense and just plain bad. To make it up to me, they offered me a few cronuts again on the house, very generous gesture and I took their offer. So how was it? Well its certainly NOT a real cronut, its more just like a delicious thick donut. Yes, it is very DELICIOUS..but its not a cronut. If you ever have had a real cronut with the nice layering puff pastry, this isn't it and I would recommend Mimi's to not call it a cronut. But again, its very good. I would give this review 5 stars if i was eating a donut and not a advertised cronut.

Came here at 3pm on a Friday and there wasn't much of a selection in terms of donuts. Was rather disappointed especially after having heard about this place through Instagram. We got coffee and hot chocolate which were good, but not great. Since we do not live anywhere near Manotick, it would've been a total waste of time not trying something while we were here. If I primarily wanted to pick up a coffee, I would've just gone to a local Starbucks or McDonalds instead. A 5-star review would have to reflect my personal experience, not that of someone else. I can only speak based on my own impressions.

Mimi's donuts is absolutely fantastic! They not only have some great flavors (the caramel and the blueberry cheesecake ones are incredible) but they are also extremely attentive and friendly. They made the most amazing donut birthday cake for my son's second birthday that he absolutely LOVED! My family and I are very happy to have found this wonderful gem!

Tried the donuts: skor, cookies and creme, lemon meringue, apple fritter, coconut chocolate, and maple. The best was the apple fritter. Most of the donuts were quite dry whether it was the cake or raised donuts. This seems to be a problem for other reviewers as well, either a recipe or a storage problem since we got it later in the afternoon and I'm sure they make it fresh given the line. Some of the flavours we got were also too sweet for our taste. The price is slightly lower than SuzyQ and the price correlates with the quality and size.

Don’t bother. Donuts were stale (even though we arrived around opening in the morning) Service was basic. Tried to have some light conversation with the cashier, but was very cold and didn’t seem to want to connect. Atmosphere was not pleasing. Place was not kept in great condition, a little nervous about cleanliness. As well it was very cramped. Along with this, extremely expensive. I can’t believe it’s $4 for a stale donut. We should have gone to Tim Hortons. Very disappointed.

Came by the other day to grab a bunch of donuts. The staff are super friendly (thanks for a great customer experience!), the variety of the donuts is very creative with many to choose from. I tried one of everything. On the downside, the donut quality was not as good as anticipated, and the products offered are very expensive. I would typially expect higher quality for that kind of expense (not to the extent of exorbitant, but quite expensive); but that aside, overall decent to good experience.

Pretty disappointing to be honest - we showed up before lunch and they had almost no donuts left. I think you should rename your business to Mimi's ice cream - because if you can't supply enough donuts to last you a day - (and it really wasn't that busy) there is a problem when Donut is the name of your business. I can't really comment on the flavour - because I didn't get a chance to try the one I wanted.

This ice cream parlor is very very very small. There are donuts available as well as a small variety of ice cream. They also offer fudges, milkshakes and other cold beverages. There are no tables inside however there are a few tables and chairs on a small patio deck. This tiny little ice cream parlor is unable to accommodate more than six people inside of a time without feeling completely cramped! Having said that it is delicious and well worth the stop. #localguide

Yummy! Best donuts by far in our area. En par with Suzie Q, that is of course debatable, but hey, its made on-site fresh, it's super tasty, it's served with a smile, and don't forget their delicious ice cream... the longer lines on warm sunny days tell you enough, or not? Correct, it is worth 5 stars! Thanks to staff @ Mimi's for treating my son with respect and care (also when he sometimes takes a bit longer to decide on his ice cream flavour) :)

Unfortunately, not my favourite donuts by a long shot. As a self-proclaimed donut connoisseur, I have made my way through many a donut so my standards are pretty high. In comparison, these were some of my least favourite. I found them to be quite small and dense (some more so than others), the blueberry cheesecake was a knockout and the lemon meringue was pretty good too but the other flavours were just “meh.” I don’t think I would visit again.

  • Jillian Charlie

Service was good, and this place is very cute with tables outside. I went there because I’d heard that they had gluten free, vegan doughnuts. I ordered the doughnuts and a coffee. The coffee was delicious, but the doughnuts were not at all good. Extremely dry and no flavour aside from the topping. They did mention that the doughnuts are a trial and are a work in progress. If you’re looking for good coffee, though, I’d highly recommend!

Amazing donuts - totally worth driving to Manotick. Very pleasant and helpful staff on site. The great choice of donuts - fresh, nicely decorated, great flavour and not too sweet. Will definitely come back

Amazing little donut shop. The shop is very cute and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful when helping me decide what to try. I ordered a dozen assorted yeast and cake donuts and was super happy with them all. They were light, fluffy, soft and full of flavour. The filled donuts and plain classic one were my fave. They're a but pricey, but they're that good. I can't go anywhere else for donuts now. So tasty.

  • Paul McAllister

Nice small shop selling gourmet donuts, coffee, and baked goods. The donuts look, smell and taste great, and the staff is friendly. One area of improvement would be for the staff to wash hands or wear gloves when transferring individual donuts onto the display trays after moving them into the shop from outside (and touching doorknobs). Looking forward to my next visit to try more of their tasty treats!

I ordered the "Happy birthday" donuts for my Niece's birthday and they were a huge success! Delicious donuts and warm, friendly service. We will be back!

Drove 25 min to try this place, ended up not being able to use my mask since it was dirty. Asked the lady working if she could provide a mask or take an order from outside but said no. Understandable but with no one there an out door pickup probably could have been accommodated. While I was there you could see the David's tea and the cheap coffee machine being used. Won't be returning.

Best doughnuts in Ottawa area by far . Will be back many times. The oat latte was a little watery tasting so I'll probably try a different drink next time.

I'm not sure why people are complaining about the taste and quality of the desserts here. They're delicious and the staff do a great job. Last time I went there was only one worker who was in charge of serving the desserts as well as cooking and service for the chip truck right beside Mimi's.

Kid-friendliness
It's donuts and ice cream. It would be hard to find a kid that that didn't like this.

  • Andy P

Nice and quaint location, the individual that served me was very friendly. Now to the donuts, I ordered half a dozen of the specialty donuts; the portions were good and the donuts were well presented but the doughnut base and the topping were pretty flavorless to the point where I wasn't able to distinguish the flavoring of the topping from one another.

  • Ottawas Cadence

I'm very picky when it comes to good coffee. I came here with my family for donuts and decided to have an americano.. Not too many places impress me but the coffee was actually perfect. Thank goodness I live down the road in Riverside South because I think this place is going to be my new spot for a quick coffee fix. Oh, and the donuts are awesome.

We arrived to find out 6 donuts were $20. So got 2 - Boston cream and a Mexican chocolate. I was told my Mexican would be spicy. Haha, it was stale and tasteless even the chocolate was poor quality. As to the other it was okay. We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon around 1 pm so no excuse for the staleness. $8.45 later will not go back.

  • Mama Mia Quesadillaa

I much prefer the competition. Selling points are the interesting flavours and the small local business aspect of this doughnut shop. We tried six different flavours, and all of them were delicious. There are other local bakeries that make doughnuts at a better price, and texture, in my opinion. This bakery is worth a try nonetheless.

  • Madison Awender

Best local donuts. I prefer to come here when I am craving donuts, to support local! Mimi’s has been a great support with the job I have with donating gift certificates to us.. yes the donuts are pricey but so are every other small business trying to make by. If you are ever on bridge st drop in!

First time visiting Mimi's, the staff was very polite, however the donuts were not as fresh, and was way over priced! We ordered half a dozen donuts (smaller than avg size) with a one scoop ice crean for almost $40, Definetley not worth it at all in my opinion! We've had gourmet donuts around town for half the cost!

  • Rawad Elias

Service was friendly, but Doughnuts were dry and expensive ($3.50 each) I was really looking forward to the doughnuts, but unfortunately was very disappointed. Tried the Nutella filled (mostly dough), and the S'mores (dry and tasted overcooked). My favorite is still Suzy Q in terms of freshness and variety.

  • Pamela Lee-Shanok

Oh. My. Gosh. We took a quick day trip to Manotick from Ottawa and stumbled upon Mimi's. We got a drumstick ice cream and a blueberry-filled donut. The donut was incredible: soft, puffy, and generously filled. The ice cream itself was good, but the chocolate covering and peanut topping made it great.

  • Bokhader

Nice, cute place with the most friendliest staff ever! It gets even better when you taste the best donuts in Ottawa, especially when it comes to the sprinkled donut YUM! Sadly didn't have a chance to taste they're ice-cream but will do for sure someday. Stop by & enjoy, promise you won't regret.

  • Hadia

It’s a cute little trailer and service is super nice.. we stopped by on a beautiful fall weather day.. few flavours of donuts were available and some ice cream. We tried the caramel donut and cookies and cream.. my kids love it but for me it wasn’t the donut texture I’m used to, more caky style!

  • Katy McLaughlin

Mimi's catered my wedding with their co-business Burgers on the Bridge-and what a blessing to the stressed bride! They were so professional and accommodating! The doughnuts were fresh and delicious. Everyone at my wedding loved the sweet treat and uniqueness of the desserts. Thank you so much!

  • Ali Zahid

I think they are the best doughnuts in Ottawa region! Better than SuzyQ or mavericks! Massive fan of Mimi’s! Lemon meringue is probably my favourite. Also their customer service is amazing too. Highly recommend this place for a visit if you’re in Manotick! Make it a must stop.

  • Sean Ryan

Been here too many times to count, nothing but amazing every single time! Staff is friendly and personable, ice cream is fresh and delicious, coffee is top notch and the pastries are to die for. If you're looking for a sweet treat south of the city, Mimi's is an absolute must!

  • Mike Brownhill

I was unimpressed here. There are better donuts at other gourmet places in Ottawa - found the donuts themselves dry and a bit small. Also, when we showed up there was no one in the storefront and no apparent way of summoning them. Not a great case of impressing new customers.

  • Duncan Burrill

I went there for ice cream and it was okay. There was not a large selection and the serving was small. On the positive side, the lemon lavender ice cream was quite good.

Not the best donuts I’ve had (goes to Lee’s in Vancouver) and they were sold out of a lot of items when we went. They were a bit dense when I was expecting them to be light and fluffy. Tip: I liked microwaving them for 15 seconds to get a softer, fluffy donut.

  • Sheree Y

I decided to check out Mimi's as it is a much closer drive than Suzy-Q. I purchased half a dozen for $17. Mimi's donuts are smaller than Suzy-Q, which was disappointing given the price. There was a large selection but they were just okay taste wise.

  • Al

3 kids ice cream cone and 1 medium (huge) coffee for 11 bucks! Thats a great price. The kids ice cream cone is definitely enough for an average adult. Nicely located right next to a boat ramp. Didn’t tried the donuts but I will definitely go again.

  • Simon Di

Easily some of the best donuts to be had in the Ottawa region. Great flavours and variety, all at reasonable prices. They've adapted well to the pandemic and ought to be supported lest we be stuck only with sub-par Timmies donuts in the future.

  • Stacy Edwards

So nice for a food truck to be open! I just had an iced coffee on this 40C day. The chip truck next door should be open June. They had a great selection of ice cream which I'm sure will be popular. Sandwiches and combos also. Great variety

  • Dania “dandouna” Wazzeh

We tried the strawberry cheesecake icecream.,along with the cookies&cream, cherry and mango.among all these the mango was the least delicious. It tasted very artificial. We wanted to try the mini donuts, but unfortunately they were sold out.

i have many great experiences at Mimi's. i've ordered donuts for my daughters birthday for a couple years now- they are always a huge hit! We also enjoy getting ice cream in the summer, and walking over to the mill to see the ducks.

  • Guinevere Rose

To be completely honest to donut I was given was really small. Many 2" across and it cost me 4$. It tasted good but not much better than a Timmy's donut. Definitely not worth $1 per bite when a Timmy's one is $1 for the whole thing!

  • Joel

Biggest complaint was that they were sold out of donuts by the time I got there, so I can only assume that their product is really good. I ended up with an ice cream sandwich made with chocolate chip cookies. Very satisfying.

  • Tim M

Very impressed with the quality of the donuts. Will be coming back for sure!!!! Oh and sorry no picture of the donuts....too sweet to put down! Great central spot and this business will do well for sure. Opened August 2017

Great first experience at Mimi's this afternoon! Had the pleasure of meeting Emily, one of the owners. She is the sweetest young lady! She truly cares and it shows. We will be back soon. Can't wait to try the coffee.

  • Carmen Cheung

Thank you, Mimi's for your ongoing support of community groups like our Girl Guides, and for hosting our cookie selling event this morning. I have had your donuts on a couple of occasions and they are delicious!

  • Hélène Villeneuve

This was our first time and I had the blueberry bliss cone and it was heaven! My hubby had the s’mores cone and he loved it! Definitely going back! Very quaint spot and the staff and service were great too.

  • Chad Murdoch

Mixed experiences. Some really high end product, very tasty and some really miss the mark. No filling etc. I just can't get over the $18 for 4 donuts and a coffee. Some minor fixes and it would be 5 star.

  • Nick Nieradka

Grabbed a few donuts and a couple of flavors of icecream which were delicious. The donuts were soft and fresh, and the icecream was awesome. Parking was a bit difficult to arrange but we managed.
