"We recently had the pleasure of dining at Mofongo Calle 8, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding"
My recent dining experience at Mofongo Miami was undeniably delightful, immersing me in the heart of Puerto Rico's vibrant culture. From the inviting ambiance to the welcoming service, this restaurant is a gem worth exploring. The decor exudes a true Caribbean and Puerto Rican charm, creating a laid-back and authentic atmosphere reminiscent of Old San Juan. The servers made us feel like cherished guests, offering insightful recommendations from their bestsellers, adding to the overall enjoyment of our evening. Now, let's talk about the food – a symphony of flavors that captured the essence of Puerto Rican cuisine. The presentation of the Mofongos in the Pilon was a visual treat, instantly transporting us to the streets of Puerto Rico. The Churrasco a la Parrilla was cooked to perfection, and the Trifongo Mixto tantalized our taste buds with its delightful medley of tastes and textures. The Mofongo de Camarones was a delightful blend of shrimp and mofongo, offering a harmonious dish that satisfied our cravings. Mofongo Miami's diverse menu catered to all palates, boasting numerous mouthwatering dishes. We couldn't resist the temptation of their signature Piña Colada, served creatively in a pineapple, a refreshing treat that we thoroughly enjoyed throughout the meal. While the food was undoubtedly delicious, I must mention that some dishes leaned slightly towards the salty side, which slightly impacted the overall enjoyment. Hence, my rating of 4 stars. Considering the generous portion sizes and the overall dining experience, the prices at Mofongo Miami remain reasonable, making it a fantastic value for money. We left the restaurant content with satisfied appetites and even had some leftovers to enjoy later. Nestled on Calle 8, Mofongo Miami is surrounded by a rich tapestry of culture and lively music, elevating the entire dining experience. In conclusion, Mofongo Miami impressed us with its welcoming ambiance, warm service, and authentic flavors. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Puerto Rican cuisine or a curious food explorer, this restaurant is undoubtedly worth a visit. Just be prepared for a dash of salty delight on your culinary journey at Mofongo Miami!

Authentic Puerto Rican Delights at Mofongo Restaurant - A Taste of the Island Right in Miami I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mofongo Restaurant, and as a Puerto Rican food enthusiast, I must say it was a culinary journey worth sharing. When craving authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, it can be quite challenging to find a place that truly captures the flavors of the island. However, my search led me to Mofongo Restaurant, and I was not disappointed. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a bustling restaurant, but the host was incredibly friendly and managed to find us a table outside after a short wait. It's worth noting that parking in the area can be a bit tricky, but Mofongo Restaurant offers valet service, which was convenient. Now, let's talk about the food. Our appetizers arrived, starting with the alcapurrias, which were good but didn't leave a lasting impression. However, the guineitos en escabeche (pickled green bananas) were love at first bite. They were simply delicious, bursting with flavor. And then came the star of the show: the mofongo with carne frita (fried pork). It truly embodied the authentic Puerto Rican touch. The seasoning was spot-on, and the fried pork was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, making my mouth water with every bite. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing Malta India and an ice-cold Medalla beer, the perfect finishing touch. The ambiance at Mofongo Restaurant is relaxed and exudes the vibrant vibes of Puerto Rico. It truly feels like you've been transported to the island, creating an immersive experience. Although the alcapurrias didn't quite meet my expectations, the exceptional guineitos en escabeche and the mouthwatering mofongo with carne frita more than made up for it. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, Mofongo Restaurant is a must-visit. From the warm hospitality to the incredible flavors, it's a culinary adventure you won't want to miss.

Sis, Stop questioning it, and just go! My friend, a Nigeria-born and resident of Germany came to visit America for the first time and we decided to hit Miami (my first time visiting MIA also). We had let-down after let-down with quite a few restaurants and weren't too excited about trying any other spots. We happened to be walking on Calle 8 and I noticed "Mofongo" so of course I immediately wanted him to try Puerto Rican food, seeing as I'm Puerto Rican. First thing you'll see if lovely ladies dressed in Puerto Rican traditional dresses and handsome men in guayaberas welcoming you into this very cute and fresh restaurant. The menu is very easy to read (it's translated perfectly into English), the atmosphere feels like a taste of old San Juan in the middle of Little Havana. We sipped on chilled Medalla (Puerto Rican beer) and my friend enjoyed the traditional plate (traditionally what we have during Christmas or Thanksgiving time), I had pork mofongo (also tried the chicharrones de pollo, not shown.... YUM!!). As a Puerto Rican that knows how to cook, I tend to be a harsh critic, but this place blew me away!!! It was so delicious, fresh and oh my goodness the mofongo was moist and had yummy crunchy pieces of pork rinds (optional). My friend asked me to share his review under mine and he said "10 out of 10, nothing more to say. Just 10 out of 10". When our bellies were satisfied we packed the remaining mofongo (huge serving) to go and when our bill was brought to the table we each received a complimentary shot of coquito!!! The perfect finishing touch to a phenomenal meal!! Thank you Mofongo for representing our beautiful island the way you're doing!!

Ok, a good friend of mine recommended to me this place in Miami, and now to categorize this restaurant I have to take my time to do it, not because the amount of words I have to use, just because they deserve the best review. The service from beginning to end is 5 stars plus. The carisma and friendliness of everyone there is incomparable with another place. The atmosphere is like been in Puerto Rico in the middle of the Calle 8 in Miami. The place with all the decoration is perfect. And the last, but not less: THE FOOD!!!! O….M….G!!! Wow!!!! Wow!!!!!! And Wow!!!!!!!!! The food is spectacular!! The taste of the food, the presentation of the plates, I’m not joking, when they brought me my Chuleta Kan Kan, I didn’t want destroy that master piece!!!! The tostones rellenos delicious!! The Sangria!!!! One of the best Sangrias I ever drink!!! Congratulations guys!!! You’re doing an excellent job, an amazing job!!! And I wish you guys success and I recommend this place 100% yo everyone who is visiting Miami!!! Congratulations!!!!!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Mofongo Calle 8, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we stepped inside, we were treated to delectable food, and a top-notch service. What truly made this visit exceptional was the restaurant's manager, Gercei. Gercei's passion was palpable. He went the extra mile to provide a personalized dining experience, checked on us regularly, answered our questions, and recommended some truly fantastic dishes, each of which added to the overall pleasure of our meal. The food at Mofongo Calle 8 was a delightful experience in itself, but it was Gercei's personal touch and dedication that made our evening truly special. If you're in search of a restaurant that combines delectable cuisine, a cozy atmosphere, and a professional manager like Gercei, then Mofongo Calle 8 is the perfect choice. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit.

Normally I wouldn’t go the tourist trap places but this place was really good. My dad wanted to go to Calle Ocho and he was in the mood for mofongo, he fell in love with it when we went to Puerto Rico. Luckily we got there early around 11:30a and it was perfect timing. The place quickly fills up quickly with the lunch rush. The service is really good considering how busy it is. Everyone is super nice, very welcoming and everyone is open to help with anything you need. The food was also very good, large portions as well. You better come with an appetite. We had the morcilla which had good flavor but was a little too dry. The chicharron de pollo was very flavorful. We had the crab mofongo and that was really good and my dad had the fried snapper with mofongo. The snapper dish was huge and the combination of crunchy fish and hardy mofongo was awesome. Overall, I’d come back again if with a large group. It’s a great place to have some fun, eat some good food, drink some good beer and people watch.
Keny G made our experience unforgettable , he was friendly ,professional, quick, attentive and efficient . The place was busy ! Making a reservation is highly recommended . Even though it was busy he made us feel very special ,as if we were his only table , we were a table of 7 . The ambiance was light and happy all the staff members seemed to be having a great time . He gave us yummy coquito shots ! Food : DELICIOUS ! I went with born and raised Puerto Ricans and we all agree the food and service were phenomenal . The presentation , the taste very authentic and quick . Parking : just pay valet $25 . Street parking ,kinda impossible since it’s a busy street . Overall this was my first time but not my last ,I had a wonderful experience I will be recommending to everyone I know . Thank you KENY G
Visiting Miami for the first time and someone highly recommended this restaurant. Puerto Rican cuisine. Staffed by mostly/all Cuban (it’s Miami!) Beautiful decor. All staff was friendly, especially our server Maura. SHE IS AMAZING!!!! We were a party of 8. She took our order by memory. That always makes me nervous as many try but very few get it right. She rocked it!! She remembered our entire order correctly AND who each dish belonged to. She was patient with extra requests with an unwavering and honest smile on her face. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! Although we were stuffed we really wanted to try the Tres Leches dessert there and didn’t regret it. It was the best! Definitely a MUST TRY when in Miami. Thank you for the excellent service!
Authentic and delicious. Our waitress was super attentive to details and quality of food very good. Bathrooms clean and ambience pleasant and festive, very similar to some of restaurants I've experience on west coast of Puerto Rico. I have no gripes and would definitely return. My only suggestion is don't let that old man street vendor in white guyabera sneak in to sell you peanuts for $5, he kind of ruined our experience and was rude to my wife since we didn't want to buy his sh$tty peanuts. Owner should be aware that a street vendor snuck in to disturb the patrons. But other than that this was a phenomenal place to eat and calle ocho has changed so much in 40 yrs, very tourist friendly .

One of a few Puertorican cuisine in the dominating Cuban fare market, Mofongo offers great native dishes with all the zest and flavor of the island and the islands Medalla beer too! We enjoyed the delicious and absurdly sized Chuleta KanKan (an oversized pork chop with excess trimmings) and it as fantastic. The mofongo and rice done to perfection. Medalla beers COLD and topped it off with a flan. The service was spectacular and although the restaurant was packed it was a great! Recommend you stop by and enjoy the flavors of Puerto Rico...

Ordered through Door dash so this rating is strictly for the food. Terrible. They charged $27 for mofongo churrasco. We got a small takeout container crammed full of mofongo and about 6 or 7 slices of beef on top. Not nearly enough meat for what they charged. The mofongo was dried out, the only thing that made it edible was the fact that the beef was seasoned well. Then they had the nerve to charge $5.95 for an even smaller takeout container of salad. It wasn't even full, a few leaves of lettuce and a couple slices of onion and tomato. This place is a complete rip off for the amount and quality of food. Don't waste your time.

Best Spanish food in the area!!! Absolutely unbelievable and the customer service was outstanding. This restaurant had music playing while our family was eating, such an amazing experience. Depends what time you go, this place could get very busy but I’ll tell you it’s well worth the wait and the prices was amazing compared to every place else. Very hard to find street parking, they do offer $20 valet parking

The food was great! It’s expensive, but you get great portions and let me tell you, the waitress was super friendly! Very talkative and nice older woman. The deduction of stars is because I told them my son is allergic to fish. The plate came out with fish, which I totally understand when mistakes happen, however, even when told, she said, just to push the fish aside… I don’t know if she knows how allergies work, however, you can’t cross contaminate food… I reallllyyy would have given this place 5 stars if not for this incident and I realllyyy want to give it 5 stars but families with safety concerns should know… If you don’t have allergies, it’s a great place to eat!
Everything about this restuarant was top notch! I recommend this place to anyone. The service and the food was top tier. Atmosphere was great as well! Felt like i was really in PR. I had a mixto mofongo that's was delicious. And I want to say our waitress EMMA! was extremely knowledgeable and helped with any question we asked about the menu. She needs a promotion or higher pay because she was exceptional! Thank you for such an amazing first experience!

I ordered the churrasco trifongo and it was SO GOOD. However, giving this place four stars because my husband is vegan and we thought the vegetarian mofongo was a bit plain. The vegetables could have used some seasoning or at least been roasted, it felt very low effort. My churrasco however was a 5/5. Both were large portions Also they gave us coquito shots and wow also incredible.

Gercei and all his staff took very good care of us! We went for lunch and it was absolutely delicious! We had the mixed Mofondo and the sauce is delicious!! We also had flan and Coquito which was amazing!! Great time and excellent service! We had our luggage with us and he let us leave it so we could enjoy Calle Ocho. We came back for a second time and found the service to be just as amazing! There was even a music outbreak which was fun to experience. I will definitely be back next time I come!

I’d say this is one of the best Puerto Rican restaurants we’ve been to outside of Puerto Rico. The food is delicious, authentic flavor with right amount of spice, pretty good amount of serving per dish. You will not be disappointed nor leave hungry.

It's on calle 8 so it's central to that. There's no parking. The food is authentic but not out of this world... they didn't have blood sausage or stuffed potato balls (PR staples). I don't regret we were there, but I wouldn't go again... More

My dish (mofongo with spicy crab) was quite nice. Not great, but nice. The novelty played a part; I wouldn't order it a second time. Three plantains were good. The pork in my friend's dish ("traditional plate") was stringy and chewy. And
Food was decent-to-good, but the hidden 18% tip kind of soured the mood. I'm not against employees getting a guaranteed tip, but I tipped another 20% on top because it wasn't clear that a top had already been applied. More
Such amazing service! The food was spectacular and the atmosphere felt lifting. The best thing was them singing happy birthday to me! It felt like a party and made my day extra special. 10/10 would recommend coming here.
