মহামায়া লেক (Mohamaya Lake) বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম কৃত্রিম হৃদ যা চট্রগ্রামের মিরসরাই এ অবস্থিত। এর আয়তন প্রায় ১১ বর্গ কিলোমিটার। মিরসরাই উপজেলার ৮ নম্বর দুর্গাপুর ইউনিয়নের ঠাকুরদিঘী বাজার থেকে দুই কিলোমিটার পূর্বে পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে গড়ে তোলা ১১ বর্গ কিলোমিটারের কৃত্রিম লেক নিয়ে গঠিত মহামায়া লেক। আপনি যদি এই যায়গায় না যান তবে মনে করবেন আপনার চট্রগ্রাম সফরটাই বৃথা! মহামায়া লেক একটি প্রাকৃতিক লেক বিশাল এলাকা জুড়ে পাহাড়ি লেকের পানি দিয়ে এই এলাকা গঠিত। এখানে রয়েছে অসাধারণ পাহাড়ি গুহা, রাবার ড্যাম এবং ঝর্ণা। আপনি বোটে করে লেক পার হয়ে দূর পাহাড়ে অবস্থিত ঝর্ণার শীতল পানির ছোঁয়া নিয়ে আসতে পারেন। মহামায়া লেকের ঝর্ণার পানিতে গোসল করার অনুভূতি অসাধারণ। এই প্রকল্প বাংলাদেশ পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের নিয়ন্ত্রণে, এটি লেকের পানি থেকে পার্শ্ববর্তী এলাকার সেঁচের পানি প্রাপ্তি নিশ্চিত করতে এবং ভবিষ্যতে জল বিদ্যুৎ প্রকল্প করার জন্য এই প্রোজেক্ট হাত নিয়েছে। টিকেট মূল্য মহামায়া লেকে প্রবেশের জন্যে ৩০ টাকা দিয়ে টিকেট কাটতে হবে। মহামায়া লেকে কায়াকিং কায়াকিং (kayaking) এর মজার অভিজ্ঞতা নিতে ঘুরে বেড়াতে পারবেন মহামায়া লেকের মাঝে ৮ কিলোমিটার। ঘন্টা প্রতি খরচ হবে মাত্র ৩০০ টাকা। ছাত্রদের জন্য এই খরচ আরও কম। মাত্র ২০০ টাকা তবে স্টুডেন্ট আইডি কার্ড দেখাতে হবে। এক কায়াকে চড়া যাবে ২ জন। সকাল সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকেল ৫ঃ৩০ পর্যন্ত কায়াকিং করা যায়। সবার জন্য লাইফ জ্যাকেট থাকবে, তাই যারা সাতাঁর পারেন না তারাও কায়াকিং করতে পারবেন। এছাড়া মহামায়া লেকে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর জন্য ইঞ্জিন চালিত বোট আছে। মাঝারি মানের ইঞ্জিন চালিত বোটে ঘন্টা প্রতি ভাড়া পড়বে ৮০০-১০০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত। একসাথে ৮-১০ জন উঠতে পারবেন এই বোটে। আর বড় বোটে ঘন্টা প্রতি ভাড়া পড়বে ১২০০ থেকে ১৫০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত। এসব বোটে একসাথে ১৫-২০ জন উঠতে পারবেন। মহামায়া লেকে ক্যাম্পিং সপ্তাহের যে কোন দিন রাতে ক্যাম্পিং (Camping) করা যাবে। মহামায়া লেকে ক্যাম্পিং এবং কায়াকিং পরিচালনা করেন Mahamaya Kayaking Point-MKP. তাদের ক্যাম্পিং টাইম সন্ধ্যা ৬ টা হতে পরদিন সকাল ৭ টা পর্যন্ত। সর্বোচ্চ ধারণক্ষমতা ৩০ জন। সর্বনিম্ন ৪ জন হতে হবে। ক্যাম্পিং এর প্যাকেজ মূল্য ৬০০ টাকা জনপ্রতি। যাওয়ার পূর্বে অবশ্যই বুকিং দিয়ে কনফার্ম করতে হবে Kayaking Point-MKP. তাদের ক্যাম্পিং টাইম সন্ধ্যা ৬ টা হতে পরদিন সকাল ৭ টা পর্যন্ত। সর্বোচ্চ ধারণক্ষমতা ৩০ জন। সর্বনিম্ন ৪ জন হতে হবে। ক্যাম্পিং এর প্যাকেজ মূল্য ৬০০ টাকা জনপ্রতি। যাওয়ার পূর্বে অবশ্যই বুকিং দিয়ে কনফার্ম করতে হবে। বুকিং মানি ৫০০ টাকা।

মহামায়া লেক ও ঝর্ণা #স্থান: মিরসরাই, চট্রগ্রাম #যাতায়াত ঢাকা থে‌কে: ঢাকা →মিরসরাই→ মহামায়া লেক চট্টগ্রাম থে‌কে: চট্রগ্রাম→ মিরশরাই→মহামায় লেক #প্রয়োজনীয়_দ্রব্যাদি ঝর্ণায় গোসলের জন্য হাফ প্যান্ট, গামছা, লু‌ঙ্গি, প্লা‌স্টি‌কের জুতা/‌গ্রিপের সে‌ন্ডেল। বাস ওয়া‌লা‌কে বল‌লেই মেইন রোডে মহামায়া লে‌কে যাবার রাস্তায় না‌মি‌য়ে দি‌বে। সেখান থে‌কে CNG তে ক‌রে মুল গে‌টে যে‌তে হ‌বে। সিএনজি যেখানে নামিয়ে দিবে সেখানে টি‌কেট কে‌টে মহামায়া লে‌কে প্র‌বেশ কর‌তে হ‌বে। সামান্য হাঁটলেই লেকের দেখা মিল‌বে। সম্পূর্ণ লেক ও ঝর্ণা দেখ‌তে হ‌লে নৌকা ভাড়া কর‌তে হ‌বে। ‌ছোট নৌকা ৭০০/= (১২-১৫ জন) বড় নৌকা ১৬০০/= (২০-২৫ জন) নৌকা সাম‌নের দি‌কে এ‌গি‌য়ে যা‌বে আর দুপা‌শে দেখ‌তে পা‌বেন ঘণ ও সবুজ পাহাড়ী বন। স্বপ‌রিবা‌রে, বন্ধুবান্ধব ও অ‌ত্মীয় স্বজন নি‌য়ে মহামায়া লেক ও ঝর্ণা দেখা যা‌বে। ন‌া‌পিত্যছড়া ঝর্ণা, খৈয়াছড়া ঝর্ণাসহ অন্যান্য ঝর্ণায় যাওয়া কষ্টকর ও রি‌স্ক থাকে। বাট মহামায়া লে‌কের ঝর্ণায় যাওয়া কোনো কষ্ট বা রিস্ক নেই। শুধু ১৫/ ২০ মিটার পিচ্ছল পথ র‌য়ে‌ছে। নৌকা থে‌কে নে‌মেই ঝর্ণা। ইচ্ছা হ‌লে ঝর্ণার ঠান্ডা পা‌নি‌তে গোসল এর কাজটা শে‌রে নেয়া যা‌বে আমার ম‌তো। #পা‌র্কিং মাই‌ক্রো, প্রা‌ই‌ভেট কার, মটরসাই‌কেল, বাইসাই‌কেল পা‌র্কিং ফি এর মাধ্য‌মে পা‌র্কিং কর‌তে পার‌বেন। #খাবার: প্যা‌কেট খাবার নি‌য়ে যে‌তে পার‌বেন। এছাড়াও লে‌কের ভিত‌রে ও মূল গে‌টে খাবা‌রের দোকান আছে খাবার কি‌নে খে‌তে পার‌বেন। #সাবধানতা: মহামায়ার ঝর্ণায় যে‌তে সামান্য পিচ্ছল পথ আছে। তাই সাবধা‌নে যে‌তে হ‌বে।

Mohamaya lake lies beside Dhaka-Chittagong highway. It takes 90 minutes drive from the Chittagong city. A cal and quite place for a family picnic and a relaxing Kayaking on the lake.  Mohamaya Irrigation project is the second-largest man-made lake constructed in Bangladesh after Kaptai lake.The government is in the process of making large-scale investment plans to turn Mohamaya, an eye-catching hillside lake in Mirsarai, into a tourism hotspot. Mohamaya Lake is located in mirsharai Chittagong. A rubber dam is built to preserve the water from the three main streams from the hillocks nearby. There are lot of boats at the shore with different sizes and shapes. Travelers having a small sized group can use public boat service with shared basis. Each boat can take around 30-40 person. How to Go: No matter from where you are coming, just get dropped at the Mostan Nogor of Dhaka-Chittagong highway. From there take any CNG driven auto rickshaw and it will drop you near to the Mohamaya Project. It will cost you around 100 Taka or more. Though the place is very near from there, but you have to count that amount from your Pocket. Also for your information, you may have to use your feet while returning back. GPS Coordinate of the Mohamaya Project is (22°49’7.85″N, 91°34’12.20″E).

Mohamaya Lake is the second largest artificial heart of Bangladesh located in Mirsarai, Chittagong. Its area is about 11 square kilometers. Mahamaya Lake consists of an artificial lake of 11 square kilometers built at the foot of the hill two kilometers east of Thakurdighi Bazar in Durgapur Union No. 8 of Mirsarai Upazila. Mahamaya Lake is a natural lake formed by mountain lake water covering a large area. There are amazing mountain caves, rubber dams and springs. You can take a boat across the lake and touch the cool water of the springs located in the distant hills. The feeling of bathing in the spring water of Mahamaya Lake is amazing. The project is under the control of the Bangladesh Water Development Board, which has taken up this project to ensure the irrigation water of the surrounding areas from the lake water and to make future hydropower projects. You can camp & kayak on the lake. In the off season the price is reasonable. But on the season it takes 2 or 3 times of the regular price. I recommend everyone to go on the off season to enjoy the natural beauty more closely. Do not throw away your dirt on tourist spot.

You have to take food from yourself. There are small hotels in Thakurdighi market where you can eat local food. A day spent on Mohamaya Lake or a camp night will be remembered by many for many days.

চট্টগ্রাম শহর থেকে ৪৫ কিলোমিটার উত্তরে ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়ক সংলগ্ন চট্টগ্রামের মীরসরাই উপজেলার ৮ নম্বর দুর্গাপুর ইউনিয়নের ঠাকুরদিঘী বাজার থেকে দেড়/দুই কিলোমিটার পূর্বে পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে এর অবস্থান। এই এলাকার জলাবদ্ধতা ও পাহাড়ি ঢল নিরসন এবং শুষ্ক মৌসুমে কৃষিখাতে সেচ সুবিধার লক্ষ্যে পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড মহামায়া সেচ প্রকল্পের অংশ হিসেবে ১৯৯৯ সালে উক্ত মহামায়া খালের ওপর স্লুইস গেট স্থাপন করে। তত্কালীন সড়ক ও জনপথের মহাসড়কের অধিগ্রহণের অংশ পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের অধিগ্রহণ অংশে স্লুইস গেট অপারেটিংয়ের জন্য সেখানে সড়ক নির্মাণ করে পাউবো। তখনকার সময়ে সৌন্দর্য বর্ধনের জন্য মিরসরাই উন্নয়ন সংসদ নামের স্থানীয় সামাজিক উন্নয়ন সংগঠন সড়কের দু’পাশে শতাধিক গাছ রোপণ করে। ২০১০ সালের ২৯ ডিসেম্বর প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা মহামায়া সেচ প্রকল্প উদ্ভোধন করেন। উদ্বোধনের পর পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড এবং মৎস্য বিভাগ পর্যায়ক্রমে এই হ্রদ প্রায় ৩০ টন পোনা অবমুক্ত করে।

Very beautiful place. Here have country's second largest lake name mahamaya lake. In this place one side have waterfall and otherside hill. Every winter season here come many migratory Bird . Here entry fee 13 TK per person. Here have many small boat and if you wish kayaking than here you can do it. Kayaking price is half hour two people 200Tk and one hour 300Tk if you are a student than you can show your student I'd card than you can discount kayaking one hour 200Tk. If you can camping here than you can do it. Bangladesh have only 10 place there you can camping mahamaya lake one of them. Camping price is. 600 TK per person in this price you have one tend , dinner , mid night Bar-B-Q party and morning breakfast that is so amazing. Here people is very good friendly and helpful.

মহামায়া লেক, মীরসরাই, চট্টগ্রাম। সুন্দর একটি লেক। বাজ পাখির চোখে দেখলে ভিয়েতনামের হা লং বে থেকেও কম হবে না। ছোট বড় বিভিন্ন ধরনের নৌকা নিয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াতে পারবেন লেকে আবার কায়ার্কিং করতে পারেন। কায়ার্কিং এর জন্য ১ ঘণ্টা ৩০০ টাকা, ৩০ মিনিট ২০০ টাকা। যেভাবে মহামায়া লেক ঘুরে আসবেনঃ ১. ঢাকা থেকে চট্রগ্রামগামী যেকোন বাসে উঠে কন্ট্রাকদারকে ভাল করে বলে দিবেন মিররসরাই বাজারের আগে ঠাকুরদিঘী বাজার নামবেন। সেখান থেকে অটো বা সি এন জি করে মহামায়া লেক ভাড়া ১৫ টাকা। ২. চট্টগ্রামের অলংকার থেকে উওরা, চয়েস বা ফেনী গামী যেকোন বাসে মীরসরাই ঠাকুরদিঘী বাজার বললে নামায় দিবে। ভাড়া ৬০/৭০ টাকা নিবে। যেখানেই যান ময়লা ফেলবেন না। ময়লা নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে ফেলবেন।

It was supposed to be a beautiful place but we tourists have taken away it's beauty. Chips packet, water bottle and other plastic packets have been thrown into the lake. I think within next few years it's water will look like buriganga river if necessary measures aren't taken by concerned authority. They (a third party) are taking 20 taka as entry fee but failed miserably to maintain this place properly. Then why they are taking money! Apart from all that, I really enjoyed Kayaking here. The charge was 200 taka for 30 minutes, you can enjoy the ride for additional 10/15 mins for 50 taka more, they are quite chill guys.

Beautiful place. Good transportation facility. Great place for one day tour. Main attraction is the Mohamaya Lake. You can do kayaking in the lake. The lake is quite big and beautiful. Lake's water is very clear. So the kayaking experience will be great. Paddle boat is also available in case you find kayaking hard work. By hiring engine boat you can go to Mohamaya Waterfall. It is not a big water fall but still the journey will be pleasant. Fishing package is also available here. All in all a great place to travel.

Mahamaya irrigation project (Bengali: মহামায়া সেচ প্রকল্প) is an irrigation project in Bangladesh situated at Durgapur Union, Mirsharai Upazila, Chittagong. Initiated in the 2007-2008 financial year, the project provides irrigation water to a 3360 hectare area. It cost about 230 million taka and construction was completed in 2009. This project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 29 December 2010. It is the second largest man made lake in Bangladesh after Kaptai Lake.

A lake with natural water. Although this lake is made for irrigation purpose, but the it has very unique natural beauty. Some natural water fall can be explored as well. The facility of kayaking, boating increased its attraction much more. You can also do fishing. The lake is look a like of Kaptai lake. In a nutshell, a good place to visit with friends and family.

মহামায়ার প্রেমে আসলেই মহামায়ায় পরে গেছি। এতো বড়ো লেক তার মাঝে ছোট ছোট দ্বিপ সত্যিই অসাধারন ব্যাপার। সিতাকুন্ড আসলে মিস দিবেন না। আর ভিতরে একটি ঝর্না আছে বেশি একটা স্পেশাল না, তাই যদি বেশি একটা শখ না থাকে তাহলে হুজুগে চলে যাবেন না। গেলেই আপসেট হয়ে ফিরবেন, কারন বেশিরভাগ টাইমেই ঝর্নায় কোন পানি থাকে না।

এই পার্কে যারা যাবেন তারা খুবই সাবধান কারণ গেটের ভেতরে লাঞ্চ নিয়ে ডুকতে দেয় না, আর ডুকতে গেলেও অতিরিক্ত চারজ দিতেই হবে, আর যারা গেইটে থাকে তাদের বিহেভিয়ার গুলো খুব খারাপ। আমরা 30 জনের জন্য লাঞ্চবক্স নিয়ে ডুকতে 500 টাকা দিতে হয়েছে।
