I bought a bottle of Jameson, and drank half of it, and wanted to keep he rest, the bar tender called Zak was super hosting unlike his manager. He said he needed the managers approval whom turned out to be the owner and GUESS WHAT? HE SAID YOU CAN'T KEEP THE BOTTLE FOR NEXT TIME AND NEITHER TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU. BUY THEY ONLU DO THAT FOR ONE PER SON WHOM IS A REGULAR. THIS IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF I HAVE SPENT OVER $300 IN 3 HOURS, BUT APPARENTLY THE OWNER IS NOT KEANE ABOUT HIS BUSINESS, NOR HIS CLIENTELE L, THOUGH THE STAFFS ARE AMAZING, BUT AFTER KNOWING THE OWNER'S MENTALITY, I DEFINITRLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. The food is good but the service is extremely poor. The waitress didn’t give us plates, napkins, utensils or water when she brought us our food. I had to go to the bar myself to get it. We waved her down and she saw us and smiled only to never come back until we waved her down again after 30 minutes. Asked for 1 bill and two glasses of water she returned 30 minutes later with no water and two bills after just having given our drinks to the table next to us. She fixed the bill but and apologized for not getting the water. Told us she was going to get it …and just never came back. We waited 20 more minutes until again I had to go to the bar myself and ask for water. The people at the bar don’t even speak to you and look at you like you’re annoying them. If you don’t care about getting less than lacklustre service and just want decent food this is the place for you

I had a horrible experience because the person who was checking our IDs was extremely rude. Out of nowhere he started shouting at my wife for taking a few extra seconds to get her ID. I politely asked him to be respectful as it was just hardly 10 seconds. He got abusive and started pushing us and even told us to “fuck off”. We went out of the place without even uttering a word and we were in extreme shock. This is the most horrible experience I have ever had at a pub. My wife’s friend was also there and she too couldn’t understand the exact reason of his outburst. I don’t know if it was racist because I saw him talking normally to the people who were ahead of us in the queue. This is something we experienced for the first time at a restaurant and Honestly, it was very embarrassing. Nobody from the staff took any action. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Make sure they don't take advantage and double charge you when you are under the influence of alcohol. The first time I paid with my card, the server told me it didn't go through and told me to tap again. Next morning when I checked my credit card records, I found out that I was charged twice. I went to the bar and showed them my credit card record. The manager said that he was not there last night (he actually was there, my friends and I remember seeing him) and that they cannot refund me the amount because they delete the transaction records each day. They told me to dispute the charge with the bank. It took me a month to dispute it and the process was very tiring.

Bouncer (unclear addressed by actual bouncer at the door as "boss") hes in a blue vest jacket will come out of nowhere to ask for your id when theres already a bouncer in clear uniform....( all in black) person in blue doesnt look like he works there..will push you if you question him ..as he comes out of nowhere and demands stuff from you... Yells and is physically agressive..truly ruined the bar for me.. i am unsure if ill ever come back very unprofessional.Ruined my birthday thank you :) trusted this place for a long while and that trust is gone. Its a shame..

I am partying in this bar from last 2 years, but last evening was my last one. At the name of Sangria now they are only serving fruit juice, fries were burned, I just asked them to play a song of my choice but they denied. End experience was horrible when we were leaving, server girl named Holly stopped us for not paying tip, I told that I was not happy with drinks, (she replied why I am punishing her by not paying tip, she is not getting good pay, I advised to find another job),,, over all night was spoiled. Try something else but not Moosebar..

Seating near the entrance gets cold. They should not leave the second door open as it creates a draft in the winter whenever someone comes into the bar. Server didn't come around too often, which is understandable since she has other tables to wait on, but there should be more server staff on a packed Friday night. The wings are great! A good size wing, very crispy and a good amount of sauce on them. The menu had a lot of interesting options, so I'm probably going back to this location to try some of their other offerings.

Design is cool. But clearly they don't have a sense customer priority. Came in for and left after I saw other people that came in after me getting there drinks first. Not even being aknowleged by the staff once. This is not how you run a bar or any buisness. Yes I understand that it is a busy weekend . But have you ever heard of common sense? Since I was alone probably you figured you wouldn't make as much money as you would with a group. Don't spend money here go to Hurley's instead much better.

Very nice ambiance. Good selection of beers and friendly staff. I like the popcorn machine with unlimited access, and tasty seasoning options. I tried the “Mexican” hot dog (don’t remember the exact name of the dish) with avocado and I was a little disappointed with the result. The sausage was tasty but the toppings were not as flavourful as I expected. Next time, I’ll try a different dish. My friend had the poutine and was very satisfied. In the summer they have a nice terrasse.

We wanted to find a place for our after work drinks and this was perfect! They were playing loud early 2000's music, the service was excellent and there was free popcorn! We tried a bunch of the shots and cocktails from the menu. I would defiantly recommend the Sweedish berry! We also ordered poutines, they were decent but a little bland. Great place for a beer & sandwiches. The price it's really good. The sandwich and poutine portion was huge, and it was tasty too. Great beer and we didn't try, but looks like they have a good drinks selection in general. The service and ambience was friendly. They also have a summer patio. The location is perfect, just walking distance from Guy or Atwater metro station. It was a fun spot for a break after a Sunday walk in St Catherine.

This bar was just okay. They were super accommodating for our group of 8, but overall service was slow. We had to ask for water 3 times before it was actually brought, napkins twice before they were brought, and some people had to wait 20 minutes to get their bill. I would think they're understaffed if it wasn't for the buss boy visibly walking around for an hour with nothing to do. There are better places to visit.

This is a feel good bar. Easy to have fun here. Prices are very fair, there is free popcorn, and the music will make you smile. Bartenders are nice and accomadating. This place is not trying too hard to be anything, it is just a good time. I have been going here for a few years and it has never disappointed. Come here if you want to feel welcomed and take a shot with a stranger. Even if they are a Leafs fan.

The service is extremely slow! I ordered a drink and food 20 minutes ago and my food has came but my drink has not. It is no fault of the lovely server. She is the only server for a full restaurant at 5pm on a Friday night. Shame of management!!! It would be a 1 star review if it wasn’t for the server being totally amazing!!! It was empty when we arrived (around 5pm-ish) which was fine by us. We ordered a pitcher of White Peach & basil sangria **very yummy, not too sweet, not too strong either. I don't have enough good things to say about Moose Bawr. It was one of the first places I went to when I came to Montreal, and until today it's my "any occasion go to" bar. They have a great selection of beers, gourmet hot dogs, and finger food, not to mention the staff and music. It's prices are great too. If you like beer, dawgs, and rock 'n roll, you have to try Moose Bawr.

I have been living in the area for a little while and been several times. If you can deal with slow service as mentioned previously and you are with a small group of friends for a lively chill night then this is the spot for you. There's a mixed young crowd in here and the free popcorn with decently priced alcohol makes this a decent, not bad place to mingle with friends.

Great sangrias. Cool different kinds of bar food. we got a platter of all the deep fried stuff and chilli. The deep fried pickle isn't for everyone but I enjoyed it. Deep fried mac and cheese was a bit difficult to eat. The rest of the food was pretty good. they also serve deep fried avocado. NOTE: the staff wear red plaid so avoid wearing that to avoid confusion :p

Average bar with unprofessional staff, all of them get drunk, and have no idea what the hell they are doing. u will either get a wrong order, get charged extra or not even get charged for some drinks... Be ready to wait for your drinks all night if you order from the waitress...

Have been here a few times in both smaller and larger groups. They have good large appetizer options for large groups. The cider is okay but nothing special. The Sangria options are excellent and come in a pitcher that serves around 4 glasses for about $17. It's always super busy both indoors and in the patio so getting a table is hit or miss.

Tasty bad-for-you food, and delicious cocktails available in pitchers or mason jars. Good luck finding anything to eat that doesn't incorporate something deep fried, but it's really yummy, so why not? Not crazy about the seating options (lots of high booths and bar stools) or the TVs, but this is a good casual spot for a drink and a bite.

My friend who is completely blind was trying to find a way to the bathroom and was told by a staff member that he was “making them uncomfortable”. What an absolutely terrible and discriminatory way to behave to someone who has an impairment. This place disgusts me you should all be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. Sad excuse for a bar.

Great atmosphere and service. Their drinks are really good, especially the sangrias. Ive tried them all and have not had a bad one. The only downfall is the food at moosebawr. It can definitely be improved and it is not as good as most pubs downtown. Therefore, its a great place for 5à7 or after dinner. Great music too!

Great staff. I had bought a new wallet that day and my credit card was stuck inside. The waitress was super sweet and understanding. Finished my meal and beer, went back to the wallet store for some help and I returned a bit later to settle my tab. Also the food was tasty. Would go back again next time I'm in Montreal.

The servers kept asking (like once every 10 mins) if we wanted to order anything else and when we said we are fine for now they suddenly asked us "so are you guys having split bills?". And they went to get the bills and the paying machine right away. So ready to kick us out. Thank you very much for your patience.

Nice spot for a beer with friends! Used to go there all the time. They have great comfort food options that aren't too expensive and perfect for a night out. My favorite was the fried mac and cheese poutine. The free popcorn with flavors is a nice addition too! Super cozy and always had an amazing service there.

Affordable drinks and good cheap food! They have lunch specials at only $4 +tax from 11AM to 3PM. And I believe they also free popcorn that you can grab in the back! I've never personally went to take them, my friends always did and they told me it was free. The place is student friendly and alwaaaays packed!!

It's a small restaurant! Now if you're interested in sitting down and enjoying a big meal with your friends I wouldn't necessarily suggest to go there. Unless it's early in the day. Otherwise the prices are average in terms of alcohol and the food is cheap. Although you won't get a whole lot or not enough.

No pun intended, but this place is Neat.. The food was great, and the atmosphere was great. The whole setting to where you eat and enjoy a show is a great setup.. I'll be back for sure. The shoes are always sold out..

Really friendly staff, a good mix of people and inexpensive drinks. Next time, I need to remember that lemonade is something different in Canada compared to the UK, it's only now I realised that's why my only Whiskey & Lemonade was cloudy and tasted odd. I ordered different drinks after!

Great bar ! The music selection was good. Waitress was really friendly and attentive. The sangria here is pretty good, there's a lot of selection and it's really fairly priced. Not to mention, there is free popcorn, and free popcorn seasoning ! I wish I had one of these closer to home. :)

Tasted all 17 different flavors of their sangria picthers with friends. Not sure if it's my high tolerance or if they're weren't that boozy... The staff were nice, their outdoor seating is nicely located and the food was ok. Overall, I'd go back, but not all sangria flavors are worth it.

We came for the 4$ lunch and we were not disappointed. Every bit of food that was served to us was delicious. If I had to have one complaint, it would be that the 4$ menu needs a few more vegetarian options. However, that minor issue takes nothing away from the high quality of the food.

This is a downtown bar catering to a student crowd. They offer a cozy atmosphere with music and a nice terrasse on the sidewalk. Their prices are extremely reasonable. The wait staff is pleasant and the service is quick. A good place for a beer and snack in a casual setting.

Good drinks at good prices, but we felt kind of ignored by our waitress, who only came by every 30-40 minutes. I know she was waiting a couple tables but just a check in would've been nice. Otherwise love the atmosphere and the music was great too!

The Chili Poutine was sooo good. As was the Mac and Cheese Poutine. Staff was attentive and courteous. Fun ambiance for a Wednesday night. This is great spot to grab a bite and a few drinks. Definitely has made my first night in Montreal worth it.

With good deals everyday, and free popcorn for everyone, this place is great for a late night beer with friends. If only, a little bit too crowded for my taste, it took us a while to find a place to seat. The music is good, and the decor is great.

Very cool place to eat with a group of friends. I love the idea of the free popcorn to keep your stomach entertain. They have a big flat screen where you can enjoy all sports events and they serve big beer mugs (1 litre!)

Very affordable food, nicely priced shots and cocktails and cool vibe with loud music. Waitress was very nice. COME EARLY! (B4 10) as the place gets VERY busy later on evenings where no tables are available for hours.

The wrost restaurant bar ever! Waiting for 1:30 hour and nobody move. 5_6 tables are for the owner friends and they just stay there for chat and lots of people stay in the line! Don't waste your time!

Fast and friendly staff. Some good German esque inspired bites. Try the 2.5L boot for a good time, credit card and deposit required. Great vibe, Sangria's are the specialty! Washrooms in the back.
