This is my 3rd visit and I'm not sure if I'll go back. Worship music is nice. Seems pretty standard like any other contemporary Christian worship music style ( i.e. hillsong, Chris tomlin.) No one has ever greeted me or acknowledged me but I usually come a few minutes after service has started, and I think it's just a seattle thing so I'm not bothered by it. What kinda caught me off guard was that the sermons are very opinion based. Every time I've gone, it's a white man (late 30s/40s?) with sandy blonde hair that's preaching. I'm not sure if he is the lead pastor or not, but he's usually up there. His sermons are very opinion based. By that I mean, nothing is backed up with actually scripture. For example.... This past Sunday, 9/24, he taught about holiness and living your life not based on "happiness", but essentially bringing glory to Christ etc. Potential Cool and interesting topic. He read the passage about Saul turning into Paul as reference and then went in to talking about the 10 commandments out of left field, and proceeded to give HIS interpretation of what each of the 10 commandments mean. No scripture, references to back it up. As a new Christian, I'd be super concerned that I'm just being told what to believe based on a colleagues personal interpretation. You may not mind, but having grown up in a conservative denomination and saw this happen frequently, it was concerning for me and I didn't want to slip back into that. You start to believe things based on what a man in at the pulpit told you rather than pointing to scripture, back to God, and being able to challenge your beliefs, and decide. And some of that comes over time with personal experience. Let God convict you. It was one of those times where someone was trying to stay relevant and the essence was lost.

Follow-up Review Hi Mosaic, Thanks for the quick follow-up. Unfortunately due to Google's review structure, I cannot neatly Reply to your comment - so I am simply adding to my original review. Admittedly, while the "Fully Man - Fully God" formula is rather tidy (and certainly popular), it is not very meaningful nor useful. What exactly does "Fully Man" mean.... A complete man is a human person who can fully function independent of an incarnated deity (just like you and I do...) - is this Mosaic's view of Jesus? If indeed Jesus is genuinely such a "Fully Man" - AND is also "Fully God", we would have not one but two distinct persons - yet, in the NT, we do not see Jesus as two distinct persons but as one person... Mosaic's doctrinal statement does not begin to address the substance of these sorts of tidy formulas. I wonder if there is a better way to understand Jesus - one that would truly manifest a genuinely "complete man" as described for example in Acts2.22 - "Jesus of Nazareth - a MAN - attested to by GOD...." Thanks Again! Initial Review Admittedly I was puzzled by Andrew’s “God in a bod” Christology that he seemed to suggest (07/02 PM). This notion (even in its more developed form - the hypostatic union) necessarily eliminates the human person – the genuine man Christ Jesus (the only mediator between man and God) and relegates Jesus to a mere impersonal human nature actuated by a deity…. Perhaps the defining question is – can the man Christ Jesus fully function independent of an incarnated deity – just like ALL genuine men are able to do….

My review simply relates to a single experience that I had and is not a commentary on the church. I don't know that much about the church but what I expressed below does seem to reflect perhaps a characteristic that is present beyond tonight... and not infrequently present in semi charismatic type churches. I have to admit that I was quite hesitant regarding the sermon the young lady (the worship leader??) gave tonight (07/31/22) though I appreciate her sincerity as well as her effort to dip a bit into the Hebrew language. However her emphasis on what worship was all about seemed quite forced and formalistic (in a semi-charismatic sense). I'm pretty sure when you have the real thing you don't need to do any of the sorts of things that she was suggesting. Ultimately she's seened to be trying to create what ultimately is a very human experience - similar to cheerleaders at a sporting event. I could understand a song leader encouraging people to open their hearts and their minds and leave it at that.... There's no need to artificially work up human emotions as those in Christ are already seated in the heavenlies - not as an experience but as a position. A second challenge - at the end I remained uncertain how praise (which she did reference although did not fully define) is actually related to biblical worship - which apparently is how she is defining "worship" (no basis was provided). I did greatly appreciate my very thoughtful conversation with the young people's pastor - a challenging job!

When I decided to follow Jesus ( which was 1 year ago!) It was the best decision of my life. Mosaic was the second church I attended in my search for a church. I was nervous because I knew absolutely NOTHING about God or church but I immediately felt loved and accepted by everyone I met and never felt ashamed for not having grown up in the church. People are so kind and genuine and never pressured me into believing things that I was hearing for the first time and really let God lead me in my walk with Him. Whenever I had questions about things I was learning in the Bible people were so kind in helping talk through things with me and watch God encounter me in poweful ways. Mosaic is a great community to get connected, live life with and they quickly became my family. This church has a true heart for Jesus and love for people. Hope to see you there!

As a church, Mosaic is dedicated to loving God and loving His people. I have been attending Mosaic since 2018 and have grown exponentially in my walk with God. The best thing about that is Mosaic would never take credit for it--because they know it is God who does the challenging and the loving and the comforting; the people at Mosaic just do a stellar job at being His hands and feet to do exactly that. Time and time again I have seen people at Mosaic choose to fully invest in its community: both the people on Aurora and the people who attend the church. The ways I have been challenged and encouraged through this family cannot be fit into mere words in a review, but I do know that God is present and moving through this lovely group of people. I am humbled and honored to be part of this community.

Best church family! These people have intentionally navigated life with me as I've learned how to follow Jesus. Through the celebrations of life and true hardship, these people love one another well because they truly love God. My husband and I met here, we have traveled the world on mission because of this church, and we are excited to have our future family grow up in this church because of the incredible kids ministry! We're in our fifth year at this church and hoping to stay as long as the Lord has us stay because every week that we continue to invest in this community, we find ourselves experiencing more love, more adventure, and more growth. I don't know where we would be without this community cheering us on in the name of Jesus!

I originally found Mosaic through a Google search a little over 2 years ago and can't be happier that I put myself out there that first Sunday and went not knowing anyone. From the moment I walked in, I felt instantly welcomed and as though the people I met genuinely wanted me there. I have encountered God in powerful ways through the sermons, worship, life groups, and the other opportunities for growth that Mosaic offers. If you have even an inkling of curiosity, check it out on a Sunday - I have felt so known and loved by friends I have made at Mosaic and have seen my walk with God grow in ways I did not think was possible!

I have been attending Mosaic Community Church for roughly nine months. From the moment I walked in the doors, I was immediately welcomed into a community of strong believers who have guided me in my faith and helped me strengthen my relationship with Jesus! For two years I was searching for a home church in the Seattle area; Mosaic has made me feel accepted, and they have welcomed me into their church family. If you are curious about Jesus, this is the definitely the church to go to! Every Sunday I wake up excited and full of energy to gather with friends and learn more about our God. I cannot recommend this church enough!

i am pretty new to Seattle, moved here in September 2021 and began attending church at Mosaic in October. something i really love about this church is how they host the presence of The Lord in worship and prayer. if you are someone who is looking to grow in their relationship with Jesus in those ways, this is the place for you. since moving here and becoming more involved with the Mosaic church family, my relationship with Jesus has grown significantly. this family truly loves Jesus. they inspire me to keep my spirit sharp and to continuously seek God. i love being a part of this church family.

Found this church about a year ago and immediately felt accepted and wanted! The people who attend here are very genuine and warm! This church is a great place to find out more about God, serve your community, and get connected in a fuller way that will enrich your life! If you’ve ever been curious about Jesus, then this is the place to go! They won’t push their doctrine or beliefs on you, but they will welcome you to explore what the Bible says about Jesus and yourself while still holding core beliefs firm and living out what the word really says!

  • Blake Fuller

I first started attending Mosaic around 6 years ago and began to get more involved in the past 2-3 years, and I can say I genuinely love this church. The teaching here is solid, the worship is powerful, and the people truly care for each other and are hungry for the Lord. The community really goes beyond Sundays. If you’re looking for somewhere to build true relationships and grow closer to Jesus, I think this is the best place to be in Seattle!

  • Michael Kutz

Have loved being part of the community here. I've grown personally in my relationship with Jesus and have seen many others do the same. Strong commitment to "lifegroups" where people make great friends, eat good food, and encounter God. Leaders strive for inclusion and are pretty transparent about their mistakes. Bible is preached and believed to be the Word of God. I recommend a visit!

  • hannah jones

This is not a welcoming church or community. It is a discriminatory and homophobic church and community. Everyone has a right to feel valued and safe and that is not at Mosaic. I experience this first hand and am extremely disappointed. The pastor needs to go read his book again, because no way are these sermons made with love.

  • Kent Stephenson

In the long-run, this church's theology cannot accept non-heterosexual, monogamous, marriage-focused lifestyles so i recommend looking elsewhere if you don't fit into that category. That being said, it is a great place. There are amazing people, genuine care, and a real desire to understand how scripture applies to us today.

Before coming to Mosaic I had been following Jesus my whole life. It’s through this church that I’ve learned to activate my faith and practically be in relationship with Jesus in all aspects of my life. If you want to find how living the word of God can transform your life, Moasic is a great place for you to get plugged in

  • David Seider

Love this church. Awesome music/worship. Super open/friendly young group. Made us feel very welcome. You can tell that people genuinely love to be there. Andrew is a great speaker and courageously talks about hard subjects without dividing people. I have consistently walked away inspired in my faith and walk.

  • Kasey Stromswold

I found this church a few years ago when I first moved to Seattle. After joining a small group, I immediately found a group of friends that truly loved God and genuinely wanted to grow in their faith. Mosaic has powerful worship on Sundays, Biblical teaching, and a clear vision to serve this city + beyond.

This is a great church and if you are in your late teens or twenties it is a wonderful place to interact with peers. I'm not saying that if you're older than that you're not welcome because you are and I was there I'm 66 but I'm saying if you are new and and a young Christian this is where you want to be

  • John Bacin

One of the most important places of my life. This is the main avenue God used to change me for the better. I met my wife here, my best friends here… pretty much all the fullness of my life I owe to God and His work at Mosaic Community Church. Unlike any place I’ve ever been. Jesus loves Seattle

  • Fred Smith

I love this church, awesome community and fellowship. They have an app to connect you to other people at the church with similar interests and they serve a roof top dinner for free before the evening service in the summers. Also, Pastor Andrew is very Biblical and quotes lots of scripture

  • Emily Duerson

I have attended Mosaic since 2015. This is a community of people who want to read the Bible and seek after Jesus together. Through church services, small groups, discipleship school and more, I have encountered the Holy Spirit in new and powerful ways!

I felt a calling from God to visit Mosaic Church on a hunch. As soon as I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by others and quickly connected with people living near me. I persisted in attending the church and found a community that offered me

As a pastor's wife visiting her SPU daughter, I was moved to tears yesterday during worship to witness the body of Christ alive & vibrant and His word preached! May God continue to use you all as you minister to His world!
