DIRTY BROWN WATER in the hotel!!! Unable to take a clean shower for a week! First of all, I must talk about the horrible experience I had with the water. The first day, I arrived to the hotel after a 20+ intercontinental flight and I wanted to desperately take a shower and go to a cocktail reception from work downtown. However, as soon as I turned on the shower I realized the water was brown! I called the front desk and they sent an engineer to see what was happening. The engineer came, he told me the hotel was having issues with the tank, he stayed for like 30min letting the water run, and then left saying he was going to be back. 30min to 1 hour later, I was still waiting for the engineer to come back or for the water to clear up. I called the front desk. A very rude lady answered me saying that I am the only person who is complaining about the water, and that I should wait. I tried to explain to her that I had a work event that I couldn't miss, but she said there is nothing she can do, that I had to wait. I waited longer. Then, afraid to miss my work cocktail, I called the reception again - they talked to the engineer who said I can just close the water tap and go to my event (but I needed to take a shower after a 20+ hours trip!). Frustrated and accepting the fact that I was going to miss my work event, I called the reception again and requested to be changed rooms. My petition was accepted and I was taken to a room on the 4th floor. I was told the water should be clean there. After letting the water run for like 2 minutes, the water in this new room starting coming up brown again! In summary, during my whole stay the water was dirty! I felt gross to take showers. I thought this was an issue in the city but I asked my colleagues staying at the other hotels (some of them cheaper hotels) and they all said that the water in their hotels was clean! Therefore, this is only an issue at Movenpick. I cannot emphasize enough how rude and nasty it is to offer an expensive stay to clients without even having clean water. Another bad experience I had was when I tried to order a hotel car to take me to the hotel nearby (a 5min drive). I was told that the ride would cost me USD20!!! When Uber was offering it for USD2!!! This is a rip off to consumers. Besides these unfortunate events. I must congratulate the hotel for the wonderful staff at the restaurant and the amazing food, especially, on Friday night, when I was offered a buffet that included typical African food. The food there is delicious! And the restaurant staff are extremely nice, welcoming, and friendly. The luggage boys where also very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the front desk people. Finally, I also highly appreciated the chocolate hour, and the souvenir shop in the hotel.

The water in the hotel is dirty and/or contaminated. It is brown! Other hotels in the same area do not have this issue.

A very impressive hotel - Amazing staff - Car service: Amazing - Godwin looked after me so well over the 3 days and stayed late after his finish time every day to ensure our team was looked after. Gabriel, Samuel and Emmanuel also so helpful and accommodating of all our needs. Cars very comfortable and timing always reliable. A true credit to your hotel - Service staff (breakfast): Amazing attention and care from the staff - always a smile. A very pleasant experience and excellent choice of food available. - Concierge: Extremely attentive - covered my every need. So polite and also well dressed :) - Power supply / plug fittings were not always reliable - plugs would not stay fixed in position and some of the plugs in the lobby had no power. - Room cleaning - excellent. Every evening returning to a fresh bed and spotlessly clean room was very nice. - Gym staff: Very accommodating. Helped me with everything i needed - Room 7/10: Very comfortable bed / TV station choice ok but western channels bad resolution / funny smell from toilet on 2nd and 3rd day - had to fill sink

Staff was Wonderful, great, lovely and extremely courteous and helpful. The check-in desk on the Executive floor(6) were super great., The dining room staff were wonderful and polite. Rooms were kept immaculate at all times. The tour desk in the lobby needs lots of involvement. Inexperience staff, no up-to-date tour brochures and staff of 3-5 people would quote different prices for the same tour. We would have to wait a day before the tour was confirmed. International travelers days are limited and they need confirmations of tours in a matter of minutes. Other than that, I look forward to my next stay at the Movenpick Hotel.

The staff was impeccable! I would like to particularly point out Emmanuel from Room Service and Georgina in the restaurant for their great professionalism and kinds hearts. I also recommend eating for lunch and dinner from their buffet - it offers fantastic local dishes from Ghana, I really enjoyed their taste. Also loved the food and closeness to the airport (no planes can be heard though). What is more, there is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and vice versa (just make an advance reservation with the Movenpick reception). The only thing I would change is the smell in the restroom/toilet of my room, it smelled unfortunately a little bit of urine and I heard the same from a few other guests. In the showers, the floor on which my feet stood felt sticky and dirty, this is not what I expect from a 5-star hotel.

I cannot say enough positive things about the quality of service at the Movenpick. I have some dietary restrictions and was worried about how I would safely eat while on a business trip to Accra. So, I left a note in my reservation, not expecting much. The moment that I checked in, the restaurant manager gave me a call and started to make a plan. I stayed at the Movenpick for about a week, and the food was DELICIOUS and completely safe. They went above and beyond to welcome me, and take care of me - the level of service is just incredible. They even made me Ghanaian specialties to help me try more local food. To Belinda and the rest of the staff working at the Sankofa, thank you so much. This was a unique and amazing experience. And the rest of the hotel is pretty great too!

My one-night stay at Movenpick in Accra, Ghana was exceptional. The hotel's elegant ambiance, attentive staff, and comfortable rooms contributed to a memorable experience. The amenities, including the pool and dining options, were top-notch. The only reason it's not a perfect 10 is a minor issue with the front desk forgetting a request. I also had an exceptionally enjoyable experience during the Marine Ball. A special thank you to Theophile, who was our rater. His attention to detail and customer service was unmatched. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend it.

Enjoyed my stay at Movenpick Accra. The staff was wonderful from the time of arrival where they insisted on getting our luggage to our rooms immediately without us lifting a finger to the daily breakfast buffet welcoming me back. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything needed. If a request was made, it was immediately fulfilled. The Lobby was a nice meeting spot, a huge pool and the bar/lounge was a great calm-down spot in the evenings. I liked the location, highly convenient to my needs. But overall, the cleanliness and staff is what would bring me back!

I genuinely loved my time at the Movenpick Accra! The service was phenomenal. The morning breakfast was soooo good! AC right as you walk in which is needed because it’s so humid in Accra. I went to the Kempinski for brunch and it was subpar. Movenpick breakfast and lunch menu tasted much better! My friend also went to the spa at Kempinski and didn’t love it but had another friend who went to the spa at Movenpick and only spoke highly of her service. I’ll miss the movenpick. Kelvin was also a very worker / server in the restaurant. Give him a promotion!

This hotel is in the middle of Accra and it's easy to locate. The security checkpoint at the gate is commendable. I didn't have the privilege to access the room since we were only there for a short meeting. The lawns looked well taken care of.

Movenpick Ambassador Hotel is one of the classic and 5 star hotels in Ghana with higher security services. Their services are on the top. Place is ideal for high profile meetings and relaxation with serene environment. They’ve been innovative by introducing a movie night o Saturday which comes with a basket of assorted eatery. I really enjoyed the place and movie, however they need to improve the quality of the screen which is a bit blurry. I had a fun filled experience. Foods and drinks are expensive. However, their service is top notch. Highly recommend

It's a place you can book for vacations and Bussiness conferences. I liked their service throughout my time there. Waiters and waitresses were always on point. They asked the right questions and gave the right answers. Food was great.. It's a place I would like to visit again.

This is one of the finest hotels in accra. Nice lobby, nice rooms, good location and ample space for a pool n garden. The room service is also effective. You can certainly consider this as one of your stay in accra. The only issue is being vegetarian the Indian vegetarian options are not in the Menu and we need to go out for good Indian food.

Long history of hospitality excellence in ghana in its old and current name. Location in adequate but watch the traffic often leading to and from there towards the other key Arras like the airport. Adequate but not superfluous car park which is unmanned and considering the number of businesses there appears inadequate at times. The multiple businesses there as well makes it an ideal one stop shop hospitality center though

The hotel was clean and well located. But what made this hotel special was the several hotel staff who put in the effort to greet the guest with great warmth and enthusiasm. I stayed there for 6 nights. After the first day, the staff at the restaurant (in particular Calvina) would greet you by name and welcome you to the restaurant. The warmth of the welcome made me feel as if I am among friends in the hotel.
