An excellent place to be, especially if you're interested in Canadian history. Do not miss this if you're visiting La Citadelle de Quebec. It has many artifacts and information about the Canadian history, especially the two world wars and the Korean war. It can easily take about two hours or even more if you see everything in detail. Just before the entrance of the museum, there is a souvenir shop. There are washrooms right before the entrance as well, after the shop. To the left of washrooms, there is a canteen-type area with two tables, a couple of vending machines and a coffee machine that dispenses good coffee for a toonie or two. The parking is the same as that of the Citadelle fort.

An active military base with historic buildings. Since it is an active base, there are uniformed personnel. Has an ongoing construction at the entrance, watch out for the signs, it is confusing. Has an entrance fee. Has a guided tour in english. Does have an artillery fire at the end. Has a museum for Canada military history and contributions. Not really amazed except from the view it provides giving a clear view of the lake and its surroundings. Accepts credit and debit. Has a parking space, cafeteria and souvenir shop

Getting there was an easy walk from our hotel. Once there at the Citadel, you purchase tickets at the entrance to the museum. Paid 18 per adult for a tour into the Citadel. The museum tells the story of time audiovisually. We had a wonderful walk through from our tour guide William and bits and bobs from Fannie to round up the experience. They made our experience more than a 100%. Going to Quebec is a visit to Musée Royal 22' Régiment.

Great experience! We were able to view the change of guard twice, and we had the opportunity to take a tour of the grounds with Flavie (hopefully I have not gotten her name wrong). She was extremely informative and knowledgeable. There was a lot of emphasis on educating and remembering the services and contributions of French Canadians in the armed forces. We came out with a deeper appreciation of what Quebec represents.

Nice place for about an hour before Citadel. Included in admission. Citadel requires mandatory tour, but museum easily takes an hour for nicely detailed and labelled collection. Bit tight spaces for number of visitors. This with Citadel worthwhile for any trip of more than 2 days to Quebec City.

Although small, it’s a nice place where you can learn more about Canada’s involvement in international conflicts (which is something you rarely see depicted in detail). It has useful descriptions in both French and English, and it’s distributed in an appropriate manner. At the very end there’s a room where medals and honors earned by the military are displayed

It was a nice visit only one thing I wqs dissapointed with, since it is still an active millitary base you cannot walk around by yourself to read all the "plaques" in the open area. Beside that it was great, the museum part has a lot of nice history to read.

Didn’t have a visit to the museum in our schedule, but walked by the citadel and decided to stop in. I’m really glad we did! It is a very interesting place with a lot of history. Plus there is a bit of a lookout over the city during the tour.

If you are into military history it's definitely the place to go. Canada has a long history in the military that many do not really understand how proud we are about our men and women that serve and this will definitely educate you. Worth going to

Visited the Citadel during covid-19. The staff took great care to ensure everyone is safe. We had a great visit with a guided tour showing us the various parts off the Citadel. The tour also includes access to the museum that has a cool machine gun from the early 1900s. It's a great way to spend 2 hours learning about Quebec city.

Very informative tour, anyone interested in military history would want to include this place. Also being on the highest point of the city, you get some great views of St Lawrence and the surrounding area.

I went twice and it's so interesting every time! And the guides really know what they're talking about and they make it interactive. The view from one of the places they bring us to is the most beautiful view of Quebec city (view of the water and château Frontenac)

Way too much reflection on the plexiglass, very poor!! Had to see and read the items on exhibit!! Should have a movie to explain the whole history b4 you go outside!

If I knew then, what I know know... I don't think I would have taken this tour. The history was ok, but it was more walking than tour. You only go through the jail and that was too quick to look at the memorabilia in the rooms. Going up to

Museum does a great job of displaying the history of the 22nd, with stories, photos and equipment from the eras. Taking the guided citadel tour gives you access and it weaves additional info in about the history of the Citadel and itself.

  • Jarrod Porter

Be there at noon for the Canon firing! Parking was a tad confusing, but follow around toward the exit and you'll be fine. The soldiers were very helpful!

Love the tour, if in town definitely go, free parking. In English language tour it takes about 1/2 hour. After taking tour and walking around the museum, walk to around the army base and see the whole city view from above

Great tour guides and tons of interesting history! If you come in the winter, make sure to dress warm as a lot of the tour is outside, and it gets pretty windy up there.

  • Josh Goguen

Clean and interesting to see. It was accessible but I recommend buying tickets online and it was difficult for me to get up there with a stroller! …

A fantastic ride through history of this prestigious regiment showcasing the stories of courage and sacrifice that have lead to freedoms we have today.

  • Karen Hamstra

We appreciated the English speaking tour guides! Our guide was young, she did a good job, but a more experienced tour guide would have been better.

  • L

Tour is a bit more about the military than Quebec military history. Thought it was only okay considering it's $18. Give it a pass
