The museum has been in my top five highlights of my visit to Canada. I love visiting museums and exhibitions as I feel they help me learn something about the world, and I was not disappointed in any way by the current exhibitions that show Colombian tribal culture and cultures around the world from roman to first nations influence...this place is a cornucopia of endless fascination and delights. Whither you appreciate pop art or classical art, the museum is for you, I couldn't recommend this place enough, and the few photos I managed to capture don't do it justice. It's spectacular. I was extra honoured to see some scotrish works in the collection, and it might make me biased, but it made me feel like I was at home, so thank you to the curators. ❤️

Absolutely loved this museum. Amazing collections. Loved the care and attention taken to not only provide artists names and dates but many (most?) of the pieces included a paragraph or two explanation about the artist and/or the piece - very informative and interesting to read. They enjoy having many square feet of exhibition space and getting between the various buildings is relatively easy. We spent four hours and felt like we saw most of what we wanted to see. There was a really well done exhibit on the works of Marisol - who I knew nothing about before (I’m relatively ignorant in art) and found it very interesting. Kudos to the curators and staff here. Highly recommend!

It’s a fantastic museum that you must visit if you’re in Montreal! I went on a Wednesday thinking that it would be closing at 9 but they informed me when I got there that it actually will close at 5 for a special exhibition. I really hope that they will announce this in their website or social media to inform other visitors ahead of time so I would recommend that you call if you plan on coming on a Wednesday. Other than that, they have world class art and carefully curated exhibits so make sure you come with clean schedule!

I really enjoyed the museum of fine arts in Montreal. There are several exhibits spread throughout 3 buildings linked by an underground hallway. I noticed washrooms on each level and the elevators were all in working order. We went when the museum opened, so it was a quick wait to purchase tickets. Coat check is available. The museum is rather warm, so check your coat. There's a large gift shop that's interesting to check out too. With so many items on display, there's bound to be something for everyone.

Love this museum. I’ve visited so many times and still love here. I just wanna share a small story. I accidentally lost my hat here on Wednesday and I was busy on these days. So I can only come back today to look for it. Their staffs are so nice. They have organized all the missing stuffs in the list and kept it until I come back (about two days). I found my hat back successfully. Thanks so much!!!!!

This was a beautiful Museum. I especially liked the floors with paintings from the 1600 - 1800s. I found those to be the most beautiful. I recommend going to the highest floor and working downwards if you want to maximize your time here, it's easy for time to fly by if you're not careful. Modern art is on the lower so I recommend skipping those floors if you are short on time.

We love this gorgeous museum and always make a point of visiting when in the city. Along with the beautiful paintings exhibited, there was a huge exhibit of artifacts from around the world. There was also a large special exhibit of art by Marisol. Beautifully done and something for everyone!

A museum full of wonders! If you’re a fan of art and history you will definitely enjoy visiting. Antiques gathered from all over the world. Paintings, statues, … Seeing the thinker statue was one of the best parts, and also we enjoyed watching the abstract paintings.

Probably the best exposition I’ve ever been to. I was stunned by the amount of diversity and how well everything was displayed. The museum is gigantic so be prepared to spend a whole afternoon there! Really worth the time and money! Also if you’re less than 18 years old, you get a free entry. How nice is that?! Plus

Probably the best place in Montreal. I recommend going earlier in the day as you would want to spend at least 4 hours at this place. Tons of incredible exhibits and the flow of the place is quite nice and all the art flows with the theme. A must visit when in Montreal! Plus

Attended the art class with kids, I loved it and made me want to go see the bird exhibition, but unfortunately, there wasn't time for that afterward. The instructors were super nice and so sweet with the kids and very clear in instructions as well as helpful. Plus
