I would have given this museum 5 stars if it weren't for the awful (and I mean absolutely disgusting - making me gag) stench of sewers throughout most of the museums. Perhaps the smell isn't so bad when the air con is turned on but it's December so probably is turned off now. But I think this really needs to be sorted out. Anyway, other than that the art work was amazing. I loved it and also thought the building itself is really nice. The only other gripe I have is that as a 57 year old woman I am capable of deciding how to wear my little rucksack. I was told by two guards I had to not wear it on my back but turn it round and wear it on my front. I didn't want to do this. I had nothing of value in it and can make a decision about how to wear it. Very patronising !

Best museum in Valencia! The doors are usually closed so don’t be afraid and go in. The museum was free entry for us but I don’t know if that was because it was a weekend, however, I still believe it’s worth a visit! There’s a combination of holy paintings, Greco paintings, ceramics, historical paintings, etc. Its a huge museum that has everything you could desire and it has a stunning blue patio which is great for photos. You will be told to leave your belongings in a locker which costs €1 but it will give you the money back. If you don’t have any change, go to the reception as they will give you a coin for use.

Touted as Spain’s second finest gallery of fine arts. If it is its organisation is disappointing. There is intimidating number of security guards who wear almost like police uniforms. Super unpleasant experience. The map is super confusing and incorrect as the 19-20c art will need three attempts to find it. Gothic art is great not much else in honesty. You will find yourself walking is narrow corridors for the most part. Reception staff don’t really talk English and guess what exhibits have descriptions only in Spanish and Valenciano. Why? But it’s free.

I visited here, and I was greeted with a warm welcome. I was also surprised to learn that it was free to enter. There are three levels in the main building and another three levels in the adjoining building. The first level of the main building is a pact with religious paintings, statues, and altarpieces. The adjoining building has different exhibitions from classic Spanish and European artists to modern art and sculpture. It's worth a visit.

The entrance was free, we were visiting on a Friday. There are 2 main sections: one covering pre-nineteen century with religious works and one after-nineteen century covering both paintings and sculptures. The location looks good and is clean, and there was also a temporary exhibition with paintings done by Spanish painters that were influenced by Rome. The only minor thing is that in one small section, there was sewage smell.

The second largest art gallery in Spain, woth works from the 15th to the 19th century, including rooms dedicated to the underrated Valencian painter Joaquin Sorolla, as well as room dedicated to Francisco de Goya. We visited museum on Sunday and the entrance was free of charge and it wasn’t crowded with art admirers, so we were able to enjoy our time there. Two hours is the approximate time to be spent there.

Small but worth a visit. I wasn’t really impressed but by one or two paintings, as it was the first time I saw such a combination of themes: flowers reminiscent of Dutch paintings of the 17th century and religious stories taken out of the Bible. Entrance is free! We also had a lovely welcoming from the two ladies at the tickets office:D

The Museum is beautiful. You can easily spend around 2 hours there. The building is beautiful itself. There are 2 main sections, and a third section for temporary exhibitions. During my visit in October 2023, the temporary exhibition was a beautiful Sorolla collection. The entrance is free of charge.

This museum is definitely a gem. Moreover, it’s free! Although I’m not a fan of medieval art, the collection here is quite impressive. There are some Sorolla’s paintings and artworks related to him. Don’t forget to check out the court garden; it’s super lovely. The staff members were also friendly.

If you're Catholic, this museum has an excellent collection of religious works. Additionally, the Goya exhibit is very nice. There are also a handful of lesser known paintings by some of the old masters Velasquez, Goya, etc... It's a very nice museum that's easily accessible.

The ticket was free of charge. The Francisco Goya part impressed me the most. A very nice opportunity to get aquatinted with one of the most significant series, which is “LOS CAPRICHOS”. The overall museum was an aesthetically pleasing experience. Must visit.

Not bad for a free museum, i think so or quite low price but we were looking at the pictures and that’s it, no real guidance though. The pictures were quite nice, some of them, painted by the local artists, the best ones. But we were visitors and not so into arts so we did not so much about the whole history behind the pictures and in the end was a nice walk.

I visited the site twice due to my first visit I got hungry, It was free, not crowded, and had a large range of different pieces though no typical known masters. That said I enjoyed the museum and found several pieces that were quite interesting to me.

Good place to visit if you have some spare time. This is a free of charge exhibit. There are several floors, mostly paintings, but also some cool sculptures. Depending on when you visit, they also have some featured artist and their works.

Free entrance museum holding collection of paintings of Joaquin Sorolla. There is also a collection of medieval sacral art as well as paintings and sculptures from XIX-XX centuries. Museum has on display among others one painting of Hieronimus Bosch and autoportrait of Velazquez. The building in which museum is located is also worth seeing.

This is a great museum. The staff were pleasant, the collection was voluminous, and it's beautifully-displayed. Top it off it's free. No complaints. Went with my wife and two kids who are young. We really enjoyed it.

The main collection of the museum are religious paintings. Although the surroundings in which the paintings are set is of top quality, the paintings themselves cannot always convince me. One exception for the more expressionistic section on the second floor. A must is to also visit the gardens next to the museum.

Nicely organised art gallery that you can enter for free. A must if you are interested in art, while not as impressive as some other european museums, as it is totally free, it is pretty much a must visit!

A must visit! A very interesting museum! Enjoyed with my daughter. There is a place where you can leave big bags, you just need to have 1 € with you. Friendly staff will tell you everything. Be sure to take the museum plan, it's easier to navigate the building! Free admission on weekends. Sunday open until 14.00

Lovely museum. Not very crowded when we went. Not too big, with handicap accessible areas throughout. It's free admission, but you must get a ticket at the front desk, upon entry.
