Further update: despite assurances that the car park is now safe, my car was broken into again today, 16th August 2018. Further to the review below, my car window was smashed and broken into in this car park yesterday (20th March 2018), along with another one a few metres away. Both were in the middle of the day in well-lit areas with no possessions on show. Six cars were apparently broken into on Saturday. Police and NCP said they were unable to watch the limited CCTV footage they had to try and find the culprit(s). Complete negligence. Simon Malpass Local Guide · 10 reviews · 3 photos a year ago Do not use this carpark as it regular targeted by car thieves, over the last 4 weeks I know of at least 7 cars have been broken into when staying at the Holiday inn over night, there is only attendants there at random times of the day. Update 17/03 another 2 cars broken into this week. NCP sort this out.

Constant drug abuse and theft in this car park make you feel extremely vulnerable. I have seen about 12 cars with their windows smashed (including mine), constantly have to step over used needles, bloody tissues and bodies of drug addicts who sleep in the stairwell. I have never once seen a member of NCP staff patrolling the car park and the only security cameras are at the entrance and exit, so if you get attacked anywhere other than there, you are screwed! I've never felt so scared or vulnerable before. These issues are only getting worse and worse and NCP are doing nothing about it. I really, really hope someone doesn't get seriously hurt for the sake of them hiring a member of security staff and fitting a few cameras. Questionable morals for a huge corporation such as NCP.

Do not park your car here. Left my car here overnight as we stayed at the Holiday Inn and found my passenger car window smashed in the next day. I had no items on show in the car. Another car also had their window smashed with their possessions stolen from the car. This car park is an unsafe and dark. No CCTV to watch over cars. The car park is apparently checked by NCP staff but I beg to differ. Its obvious that thieves operate here on a regular basis and NCP clearly know this yet the only CCTV which they have points to the pay station and barriers - NCP will only look after themselves & not their customers who use the car park.

An OK car park, run by criminals. Avoid if possible. Got stung as have many others by not being able to pay the cheaper prices when using the app, because they don't tell you to scan the app at the barrier when entering. If you don't do this you cannot pay via the app with the cheaper app prices. Save yourself the stress and park over at Highcross/John Lewis. Cheaper, cleaner and nearer to the facilities. Not everyone is able to fork out for unexpected higher prices these days. It's disgusting. NCP should be ashamed. Probably not the only carpark this happens in either.

If I could it would be no stars! AVOID AT ALL COST! charged £17.95..to park from 10:30am to 3pm... ABSOLUTELY appalling... For a car park built in late 1960s early 1970s...dirty and disgusting... No wonder leicester is all boarded up.... And there was people sat on stairs... Which I don't think have been cleaned since 1970s! And if there is cctv why is it people are allowed to loiter on premises! NCP YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.... Just money grabbing. AVOID PEOPLE AVOID. DISCUSTED.. no wonder leicester is dying on its feet..

So it's in a good location - very close to the centre. I have to agree that spaces are tight and you have to be careful getting your car in. Local hotels have a deal with them and thanks to that the 24 hourly rate isn't too bad - £10. I cannot be certain that it happened at the carpark but when returning to the car next day we had a flat tyre - caused by a 6cm nail! That really ruined our weekend in Leicester to a point when I will think twice before getting there again...

  • Simon

Booked hotel for business visit only to find that the hotels deal with the car park had lapsed. Now you have to pay an extortionate price for over night parking if you stay at Holiday inn next door £22.95 with out the app and £19.95 with it, both prices are a Complete and utter rip-off avoid this place at all costs. I will not be staying at this location and hotel (Holiday Inn) ever again……!!!

AVOID! Insanely expensive and you don’t find that out until you are already inside as the price list is very unclear (we paid £17.24 for 5 hours!) No lift so beware if you have a disability or pushchair. The worst bit is that it’s difficult to walk to and is a very grotty car park so not even worth the extortionate amount they are charging.

  • Tom Roberts

It's a car park we always use and thus far I have never had any problems. Yes the stairwell smells like urine and look like the perfect habitat for heroin users but...Fact is, its a car park not a Michelin star restaurant. Serves its purpose. £20.20 for 6-24hour parking. Is that expensive or reasonable? Its expensive in my eyes.

AVOID AT ALL TIMES!!!! Extortionate pricing. This maybe a car park linked to the holiday inn BUT your still ncp and to charge £22.70 for 8 hours from 5pm til 1am on a bank holiday Friday night(Platinum Jubilee) is basically robbery. Well done Soulsby you are slowly killing off this city and stopping anyone driving into it.!!!

  • Kelsey Perry-Carlsen

I purchased a parking pass as my nearby apartment does not have parking. The Parking Pass app has not once worked as intended, and the phone assistance is sometimes unable to remotely open the gate, meaning I have to wait upwards of an hour for an attendant to come to my location. Do not use this, or any other NCP location.

DANGER!! VEHICLE WILL NOT BE SAFE! My car was broken into in this car park! When I found it at 08:20 in the morn and tried to contact staff, I waited 2hrs before someone finally answered my call to deal with my problem. They have since provided NO HELP to obtain CCTV, and they still charged me £20.20 before I left!!

£14.20 for just 4 hours today, it's only Leicester, not Kensington! Also now concerned to see recent reviews suggesting poor security. Had a problem here back in 2006 when parts were stolen from my vehicle, so no improvement in 14 years. Only used this one because Rutland Street was full.

  • Wleadeترهونيه ترهونيهAlgqnde

Very disappointing , My first day in this car park (I have monthly ticket ) .. nightmare somebody scratched my new car .. there is no security grad .. Stay well away from this car park very dark and unsafe to use ... I would not use it again

  • Janice Middleton

Disgusting car park. Over-priced and the stairwells smell of urine. No lift so had to carry pushchair up and down two flights of stairs. There wasn’t a sign informing users of non-access for disabled and parents with wheelchairs.

  • Emma Issitt

Absolute rip off, £17.95 for 5hours! Downloaded the app but that's only any good if you had it when you entered. Pulled up to the barrier, complained on the help button and paid the app price. Just don't bother. …

  • Ali Grimley

Shocking car park! Paid an extortionate fee to have my window put through last night and items stolen Well done NCP no cctv on upper levels apparently no patrols what service do we actually pay for. Police are on the case

  • Fleety Fleety

Very central to lots of amenities, and understandably quite expensive as a result. It's easy to miss the entrance, which is a small slip road. Ideal location if you're staying at the Holiday Inn to which it's annexed.

  • Herman Fung

Extortionately expensive car park. The facilities are not that good; rather smelly and dodgy. Location is fair and in walking range of various city centre locations. We paid £12 for 3 hours parking on a weeknight!

  • Sian Rigby

There is no lift and very few blue badge spaces. You cannot drive a full loop of a floor, so for someone like me who because there's no lift can only park on ground or 1st floor it is close to impossible.

  • Alex L

We stayed in the grotty car park for 5 hours and got charged £17. Rip off. Which cat park charges this much outside of London. Extremely poor signage of costs also. Imho I would avoid using this car park

  • Suresh Thalange

Smelly, but so expensive. There are cheaper car parks nearby that are not as gross. Highcross for example. I guess because it’s in the legal heart of the city, cost isn’t a problem to those users

  • Jon Sistern

I parked my car at St Nicholas circle car park for 5 days . On the day of actually leaving I found my car had been vandalised. Window smashed. I wouldn't recommend this car park to anyone!

  • Kerry Martin

Such a rip off. Over £13 for just over 3.5 hours. Parked here as closest to the Guildhall but you're better to go the Shires or Highcross as not far from there anyway and half the price!

  • Jolly Good

Prices not publically displayed - found out why when they charged me £6.90 for couple of hours in a grotty car park. Avoid and go to the cheaper one on top of the Highcross.

  • WOLFFANG9 GAMING

Stay well clear - it's breathtakingly, shockingly expensive. And dark, dirty, tight corners, no special safety either! Makes a visit to Leicester seem even less appealing.

  • Wislaw Bukiel

Plenty of spaces available in this car park and understandably so because the charges are expensive in comparison to other car parks in the city. £8.50 for three hours.

  • Ego Kaliber

My wife and I were attending a wedding not far from here and she found it very hard to locate as signage is minimal. Almost missed the ceremony because of this.

  • Bev Smethurst

Avoid! £18 to park for the day unless you arrive before 9.30am. Had my car window put through in this car park and apparently its a daily occurrence.

  • Adam B

I like the app so there's no need to waste paper. I occasionally use the early bird discount. You should have a pedestrian exit on the South.

  • catherine swann

Ended up unable to get out, saying we owed £12 after we'd already paid, long wait for assistance. Foot exits onto main road with no pavement.

  • Melvin White

Expensive and not very good for space mostly every middle space was used the two on either side are more or less squeezed in with the pillars

  • Emily Norman

Stayed for 4 hours from 4pm and 8pm on a Tuesday and got charged £17.25. There is only one pay machine on the ground floor. A bit ridiculous.

  • Eric Chowanietz

Typical NCP car park. Expensive, cramped spaces, dirty and smells like a urinal. Frequented by thieves and drug users. Use at your peril....

  • Edgars Ornicans

Good location. Quite expensive to park especially if leaving car for 12h. Tight spaces, quite messy carpark. No safety measures on premises

  • Ali G

Well the car was still there in the morning so I suppose that's good. Lol. Also cheap at £8 for 24hrs as we stayed in local hotel.

  • Michael Hamilton

Bad experience lost my ticker for 30 mins parking and had to pay £20.50 ......lesson learned never again …

  • Jo Woodward

Well located car park for the city centre. Good price for all day parking in the week if you get there before 9.30am (£4.50).

  • Mary Asagba

Just paid £9 for parking for 2hrs 40mins. More expensive than other car parks. Better to park on the street for £1/hr.

  • Jacqui Elmore

Went on shopping trip on Saturday and was horrified to be charged £20 for just over 6hours. Total rip off …

  • Paul Martin

Shocker of a price to park your car!!! Useful only if you need to visit the cathedral as its in close proximity

  • Robbzeh

Overpriced, regular break-ins, drug use in stairwells including used needles on the floor. Park somewhere else

  • Kate Ireland

Good Central position. Has an early bird feature so if you arrive before 9.30 it's £4.50 for all day parking.

  • De

Extremely expensive parking. Stairs smell of urine. People in lift anti mask and wouldn't social distance.

  • Nova Chap

So bloomin expensive for a dinjy place with awfully small spaces.. guaranteed to get your doors dinged..

  • Martin Clist

Close parking to the city but far to expensive 1030am till 330 pm and it was £20 bit of a joke I thought

  • Dave Anderson

NEVER USE THIS CAR PARK. Absolute rip off. £10.50 for 2 and a half hours parking. Needs shutting down.

  • burak

You should only park here if you car is Smart or hyundai I10. Anything wider will not fit in the bays

  • Ryan

It's my own fault for not checking the prices beforehand but £17 for 5 hours seems a bit extortionate

  • TIM SCHOFIELD

Basic car park. Was useful as stayed at hotel next door and cost £10 per night if you get validated.

  • Chetan Ladwa

Good early bird deal. 4 star as exit for pedestrian not clear or how to get across the busy road.

  • Grant Vincent

Car got broken into during the night, smashed Window Another car also broken into the same night.

  • Drew Spathaky

Cheapest all day parking if you arrive before 930 They need to stop the receipts from printing

  • Susan Lamb

It's a car park! But it's near Leicester cathedral so easy access to the places of interest

  • Keith White

Overpriced at £3 per hour for first 2 hours. Convenient for the Cathedral and "The Lanes".

  • Juliette Buttimore

Well located car park for central Leicester. Bit tight for space if you have a big car!!

  • G- Force

Large carpark close to the Highcross shopping center. Early bird offer £4.50 for a day.

  • David D

How much can you say about a car park? My car fits nicely between the white lines

  • Ray Dean

Smaller than most central car parks, but seems a safe area with hotel close by

  • Jeff Ind

Too tight to go from level to level. Charged £3.45 for 20mins. Crazy price.

  • Richard Lycett

It’s a car park. I can park my car there. The machine is very musical.
