A small shopping centre based in the heart of the Newtown area in north west of Birmingham. It serves a very diverse surrounding community hence people from all walks of life come visit and do shopping. The two main retailers accommodating most of the shopping centre are Aldi & Farmfoods. The other most visited are Dixy Chicken drive thru with inside seating along with Greggs fast food. These are the busiest most frequent visited by shoppers. But a nice touch for the locals is the adjacent inside market (which is a few small independent businesess operarting) Local Asian gricery shop, Post Office, Laundrette, Charity shop, Clothes shop and lastly Bengali fish pultry fruit veg shop. Has sufficent free car parking space. It's worth a visit to pass some time browsing or shopping if you live nearby. * Since be last visit there have been a few changes. Different shops replacing some old ones. Still busy and the centre offers variety.
Aah Newtown shopping centre, it's been around for as long as I can remember, they have everything here from food to household goods - meeting every need possible. Ample car parking on site, best to get there early though it can get busy at peak times (evening and weekends). There is a bus stop that stops right outside, which is beneficial. They have long opening hours to suit all. No public toilets though which is a shame that I have seen. If you are in the area and would like to do your household shopping than is place is a recommended, to suit all needs.
The farmfoods is awfully unorganised /disorganised. Wouldn't ever go to that 1 again. I called before i went, asked if they've got the daewoo DOUBLE electric blanket. Yes we do was the response, hence i took an uber for that purpose. Only when i got there.....only single. Asked about their very own cat food, told "we've got non left" yet it was right in front of him with the other cat foods. Wouldn't recommend and clearly not worth calling beforehand either. This is my personal experience of Newtown farmfoods,
Close to home. Once in a blue moon you'll find an absolute gem in the discount shops. But generally would avoid. The shopping centre would definitely benefit from development and gentrification. Unfortunately, I feel it has been neglected, forgotten, and it will continue to be that way, sadly. Very tight knit community though which is nice to see. Newtown, pattern up your shopping centre!!! It has so much potential. I suppose the recent addition of a Wendy's is a good thing, although not halal.
Travelled up from South West Wales to Birds4U after checking availability over phone. After telling the owner our needs he suggested a Quaker Parakeet and we have not been disappointed, after having him 2 weeks. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop and inside the bird cages. Highly recommended. Didn't actually go into the shopping centre as we had a 4 hour drive back home, but it looked clean and well kept from the outside.
Always very packed. One of the things I have noticed is that as far as I know there is no pharmacy. Apparently pharmacists have applied for shops but have been refused. Would be interesting to know why there is no Chemist. There is 'like a pharmacy' in Aldi, but as far as I know it doesnt dispense prescriptions. So people are having to go to Lozells or even One stop.
There is an ALDI and a few other chain shops and some cheap local shops mainly run by migrants. There is a Dixon chicken, gd for take away with reasonable price. Overall, you can find good bargains here for food and miscelanous items. For sure, it is not located in the classiest suburb of the area so a little bit of mess and untidiness can be seen.
Decent little shopping centre, not a large shopping complex. Has a few options to eat from, including a Gregg's, Dixie and a burger shop. It has a post office and 2 free cash points. There are markets and shops for clothes, household goods and groceries. There are 2 main supermarkets, namely Farmfoods and Aldi. Plenty of free parking also.
Great little shopping park, has a great aldi, a small farmfoods and a few other stores. Accessible car park & a lovely pet shop too! The area is very busy and the area can be littered or smell like drugs making ypu uncomfortable to shop if you go alone or late in the evening.
There are a few shops there including Aldi. Farm Foods. Greg's. You have to checks out Big Deals. You walk into an Aladins cave and finds much needed items and gifts. Wow the diamond crusted Ottomans were a great buy. Various colours available
It has aldi, farmfoods, dixi, royal patties(a new place for burgers looks good but haven't tried it yet) it has a cheap furniture place and a post office. So great place to do a weekly shop and eat while your doing it.
Estatic While Down In Newtow B'ham Was Able To Have A Page Of One Of My Fiction Nvl's Printed Out Plus Purchase Some Lovely Hankercheifs For A Fraction Og The Actual Price. All In All It Was A Good Day!!! C. Bennett:
I enjoy passing through this shopping centre especially when I need to go Farmfoods, Aldi or Post Office, There is a Greggs, Betting Shop and Dixi Chicken located there also. Plenty of parking too.
Step it game up from back in the days il definitely shop their clean n nice shop good shops their now don't feel like ghetto definitely go n check it out good improvement …
A shopping centre where you can buy great deals. Especially you can get most of the household items. Also there is a shop where you can buy refurbished clothes at cheaper price.
Personally has everything that I need. Supermarkets, Greggs, Post office, cash point and charity shops. Would be perfect if it had a pharmacy, and opticians.
Needs to be tidier. People need to stop loitering around smoking weed by the entrance. More variety of shops 3 of them in there sell the same things.
It's ok if you have to go aldi, farmfoods or jobcentre but that's about it there can be alot not liked things/people hanging around there
Royal Patties delivers exceptional taste, ambiance, and service, living up to their slogan as the "King of Taste" in an affordable way.
Small place with post office, job centre and local small shops where you can buy any think you need for your home
Great parking nearby so easy to access shop , fantastic polite team too I buy my yodeyma perfumes from here
Small neat shopping centre a lot of grocery options with a few branded food spots. No real clothing shops.
A Pandora's box full of bargains just go with an open mind you never know what treasure you'll take home.
I bought 2 Budgies and 1 Quakar from them. Really good collection of birds and fish. Recommend to visit.
Eanliness an friendliness is mid to low, great Aldi and post office, great few other local stores
It was busy and i heard someone shouting outside and everyone was watching something
Carpark not properly constructed as parking as entering and exiting are a nuisance
Great experience and plenty of spaces to park …
Very busy...people driving quite recklessly ...parking their car anywhere.
Crackheads paradise But you can normally get what you want. …
Dire....hand on wallet, heart in mouth kind of place.
Small, clean shopping centre with a awesome carpark.
Dnt really use to this aldi, so small and crowded.
It's an ok shopping centre but pretty small.
Great parking. Many shopping store choices.
Too much amazing and suitable for shopping.
I like it as it is a very wholesome place.
Too many drunks and addicts hanging around
