There's a free self-guided history walking tour 'Gritty Newtown' from the City of Sydney departing from the station. I and my partner did it 2 weeks ago and it's awesome! We learnt a lot about Newtown's past through the walk. If you are interested, get the Cya On The Road app and search for 'CityOfSydney' or 'Gritty Newtown''. Absolutely worth it if you are visiting Newtown!

Newtown station has quite an open entrance with cafes closeby and an Australia Post parcel locker - if you need to pick something up after work. There's 2 platforms and trains to/from the city are frequent. It's a clean station most of the time but can get quite busy, usually at peak houra before/after work, Friday and Saturday nights

A nice train station, pretty clean compared to most. Toilets available although past the barriers so make sure you have your Opal card or phone to tap to enter. No attendants on site when we were there on a Sunday afternoon but there was a cleaner attending to the toilets plus music buskers to entertain those in the area.

Newtown has a great railway station that was nicely renovated a few years ago. The "Customer Service Attendants'" that work for City Rail are quite funny though. No word of a lie every time I see them, they are on their phones or drinking coffee. I never see them do anything.

I always feel safe at Newtown Station, a part from the occasional religious bible bashers although I've only seen them a few times. The shops that run out of the station are great too. I recommend the BLT honey toasted burger from Cuckoo Callay on the breakfast menu.

Stay away from newtown station. Very weird people around. Not a fan. Trains dont even come very often. Would definitely make the hike to st peters station before even thinking about going to newtown station again. Wise words. Stay away from newtown.

I accidentally went to Newtown Station because the train just decided to skip the station I was supposed to get off at, but the station is really clean and modern. Waiting for 10 minutes to catch the train back to my station was a breeze.

A nice station with a lovely modern design, the perfect location surrounded by the bustling centre of Newtown. Easy to access and on a convenient train line, Newtown station is always a pleasant transport hub.

Lovely station. Information clearly displayed on many monitors. Has a good feel of a small town (Newtown) train station. Accessibility is also great with lifts to the station and then down to the platforms.

I love street art and this town is it!! My dream town. I spent 6hrs to keep walking in the town. So many thai restaurant and they are good. Pick one restaurant and order pad-thai. Its make your day ^^

One of the best stations on the Inner West line. Always kept clean and maintained. Most of all I love coming to Newtown as it brings memories of my early childhood growing there and in Erskinville.

Great restaurants. Colorful, tolerant and decent majority of people. Cinemas. Opp shops. Backpacker Hostel. School. RPA close by. Community open spaces and gardens. Well connected by buses, trains.

Here's an updated station where trains take you east and west. A busy station that serves the trendy suburb of Newtown, with its trendy King Street. Not much else to do here than write a review.

I like the beautiful postmodern architecture of this station, the long stretched out platforms to catch the trains, and the cafes & food shops at the street-level station entrance.

Great station, many memories. Pity a junkie destroyed my phone here two years ago. Apart from that, great place to be. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go on a train.

One of the nice feeling stations in Sydney. Rarely any trouble except the odd annoying beggar or chugger (charity muggers) accosting you as you try to enter or leave...

Thai Patong take away 7$ boxes out the front, chicken shop not to bad for a spicy wrap for the brave, pub on corner. Seems to have what you need as far as trainos go.

Convenient railway station. It's easy to access and the signage was clear. It's a small station but it's clean and when there's a peak hour it's still convenient. :)

This is a completely new station. Clean toilets, lifts for elderly or disabled, lots of staff. Well lit and secure with cctv cameras. Staff are very helpful.

Lovely windows. Spacious, doesn't feel like a train station at all. Good facilities, including clean toilets. Great location. Responsive law enforcement.

Clean, modern and efficient station. Lots of space for waiting and conveniently located near other amenities. Signage is good and everything makes sense.

Amazing station, you can just come over from work collect your auspost parcel and head over to home. Bus station just outside plus plenty of shops.

Friendly staff and very helpful. There are cafés around the Newton Station which are useful if you need to have a meal or coffee before traveling.

Access friendly, frequent trains, water bubbler nearby and an opal top up machine. There are always police and charity-beggars here. Always.

Newtown is the best place with most friendly people on the earth. The train station is great with friendly staff and great service.

Newtown station has had a very good upgrade in the past few years, it's a friendly neighbourhood and has awesome art everywhere.

Small train station with only 1 platform (but 2 sides). Lots of toilets that get cleaned regularly but still feel a bit gross.

If you go there from 11PM - 5AM the junkies outside the station give you a full on soap opera its absolutely amazing

Great cinema. The service from the staff is excellent & the cinemas are kept very clean.

Much better since the facilities upgrade, but still terribly overcrowded in peak times.

Shame the original heritage building has been turned into a takeaway chicken shop!

Now modern train station clean facilities not as many dero's as days gone past.
