I walked into this small museum on a Saturday afternoon as it was in the neighborhood. I was amazed by this artist, both his many travels and the paintings he created during his lifetime. The use of colors and depictions of environments were great. This place is free to visit, so it's definitely worth a visit. More

Really cool and a history of someone I had never heard about before. The man was well before his time. His entire family had multiple talents. Art,, archeology, writer and the reason Art is preserved in times of war today. It's free but I gave a $5 donation. I ended up buying 3 prints for my house. Love his art.

This gallery is a rare gem in NYC. It has a great collection of paintings of one of the greatest Russian artists Nicholas Roerich. The paintings depict the Himalayas and transport you into a magical and spiritual world. Best part is that it’s free! A great place to spend an afternoon. More

Highly recommend this Free Museum if you're a fan of landscapes and Roerich's work. Definitely a hidden treasure in the neighborhood. Great prints from Nicholas Roerich available for purchase as well. The colors are far more vivid in person. Museum is 3-levels. More

It's a nice cozy exhibit of an artist's work from Russia. The work and interest of the artist seems to meld ideas of many religions both west and east. Most of the work is very technically interesting because much it seems very sculpted or

Absolutely phenomenal museum … so intimate and well-curated. It hurt my soul that it was free and so wonderfully put together, but it is nearly unknown even to native New Yorkers such as myself. Please set aside 30 minutes to tour this gem!

View the paintings from afar, and you will feel like you are right there in the mountains with the artist. Amazing views, vibrant color, a nice collection worth visiting. And the entrance is free. A few blocks from Columbia University. More

When you call a place hidden gem, this is the exact kind of it. The building which consisted of three exhibiting floors is such a precious and fetching marble itself. The entire space greets you extremely intimately and closely as if you

What a beautiful collection... FREE TO SEE!!! UFO TV on YouTube has a great mystery of a story to tell about this man. He was truly special and rumour has it that he carried some very important items to America.

Underrated artist and museum. Roerich was well known in his day (first half of 20th century) but not very well known today. His works are symbolic, imbued with spirituality and presage a
