The location is location is definitely 5/5. The outdoor shaded area doesn’t get hit by the sun but there are also option without shade if you prefer so I think that’s a great mix and they’re both on the canal side. The food is 3/5 as it’s fine, nothing outstanding. The chorizo paste on the chicken burger is really good but everything is is just ok. The tempura squid and chorizo is not great though, it’s not really tempura but rather just crumbly batter whereas I’d expect tempura to be a light batter that fully coats the contents. 4/5 for the service. I couldn’t see any faults but I can’t give it a full five since it’s not outstanding. The issue I have is the confusion around covid measures? The staff that ushered to my table mentioned that it’s a one way system so enter through going up the steps and leaving through the ramp. However when I was about to leave the ramp was filled with their staff and was told to use the stairs. Hmm... I’ve had issues with the toilets too. The disabled toilet was pitch dark when I enter and had to use my phone’s torch. This is unacceptable given it’s a accessible toilet. There was no lock on the door too. Nothing to dry my hands either. I’d give an overall 3/5 but the made it 4/5 from the responses I see from management on all the other reviews. I can see they do care about their place and hope they’re actually going to improve / maintain on these feedbacks.

i underestimated the bountifulness of a sunday roast and went on a day where i had a few meals lined up, so i had to skip the sunday roast and go for lighter fare. instead i had the chipotle wings, fries and the most refreshing ginger beer it made receiving it at the end of my meal an afterthought. the wings weren't very satisfying and the chipotle was barely there. the fries were fries, nothing spectacular. the ginger beer is why i will return to Number 90. i just hope the new girl that our waiter blames the delay on is there and makes it the exact same way - its not the aggressive bottled ginger beer that feels like you just drank liquid horseradish. it was cool, refreshing with the ginger lingering in the background. the atmosphere is pretty dope here. very spacious interior and outdoor seating. one thing to note is you can place an order from their saturday brunch menu ahead of coming and basically look like the cool kid that gets to order things not offered on the current menu. so if you're thinking you're going to be hungry on sunday but not sunday roast hungry and you happen to know it in advance, order from the brunch menu - everything looked incredible. i was a wee jealous! the water coming in a patron bottle was a fun kick. id return when i'm thirsty or maybe for the toast with guacamole i saw a few people order. yes

I visited yesterday and this place has the best security I have ever interacted with. I've never met anyone so accommodating and proactive in their hospitality! It created such a great atmosphere, people (not even just that one security person who was super helpful and friendly and definitely deserves a raise!) were so kind and respectful, and fun! I will definitely come back. There was one thing I didn't like but it feels like maybe it's a British thing... they serve cocktails in wrong glasses. We ordered a martini and they served us tiny beer mug/teacup lookalikes with espresso martini in it. We ordered margaritas received them in rocks glasses. And the cocktails didn't seem to have much alcohol in it. We had over 6 of these and felt as good and fresh as when we arrived. It's a good place to visit, especially when you're with a large group of friends. You get what you ordered quickly, it's not expensive (although there is 12.5% service charge), you can get some snacks too, it has a nice canal view with boats passing and people are the nicest! There was also a dance floor with a DJ but we didn't make use of it yesterday. Summarising - security made my entire Friday night. Thank you! ❤ You're the best! You treat this place like your own and it shows!

Nice place to go on a sunny day, a DJ was playing some dance/trance type music which was easy enough to listen to. We were pretty hungover to be fair. I ordered a roast beef, which was nice enough, but didn't have any horseradish (a crime). They may well have horseradish but they didn't offer it or any sauces or salt and vinegar. It didn't dampen my ability to stuff my face and try to cure my hangover. My friend have the beef wellington. He swallowed it comfortably. I had a cider he had a Hackney larger and seemed content. I enjoyed my cider. Nice to be by the canal on a warm day. Service is table service which was good.

You can't park next to the venue but you can park in the side roads. On a Sunday it is free. There's a short walk to the venue in some cases and I'm not sure how accessible this is but it was fine for us to go up and down some stairs and across a bridge. If that's going to cause you a problem, plan ahead.

Honestly dire. Came here early on a Friday, there were about 10 people sat inside, mostly couples and friends. In the space of 15 minutes we were interrupted twice to fill in forms. The music was turned up, which combined with the very tinny speakers, made hearing each other impossible. We asked to move outside where there were lots of empty tables. We were told we had to pay, take our drinks and food to the entrance, and wait to be reseated outside. After that ordeal we were sat next to a huge party using a karaoke machine which again was interfering with the tinny speakers. After 5 minutes we gave up, abandoned the beer and unappetising nachos and went elsewhere. If you just want a decent vibe for time with friends, go literally anywhere else. There's so many nice drinking holes just steps away from this dive.

My absolutely favourite spot in London!!! So cool, so much fun, such nice people and the venue with outdoor seating right by the water is so sick!! The food is always super good and the staff are so on point and friendly!! We went there for Sunday roast this week which was so so delicious! Had to leave a review for this banging place! Highly recommend to go <3

I used to be a regular costumer cause I like the view and the cocktails and some staff members are really cool. I don't how much money i ve spent here and were always polite to staff members and sometime offered them free drinks . The food it's just disgusting and Tom the manager has too much attitude like he is doing a favor talking to u . Who he think that he is !? Even the security staff has too much attitude and they are unfriendly! U lost a nice and a regular customer. I'm not surprised that this business is changing the staff every month. Bruno Cabral focus more on your staffs behaviour than on your sound frequency project ! Cheers daaarlings !

Being in Hackney Wick and on the canal already makes this a great place for a night out whether you want drinks or dinner. The house lager was really good and well priced. The beef burger was incredible, dare to say one of the best ones I’ve had in London and cheaper than chain fast food restaurants! The mushroom burger also looked really good and juicy even though I didn’t try it myself (see pic). Finally the vibe is great, really liked the chill techno music and the staff was really friendly and helpful. We asked one of the waiters to take a picture of us and he took like 10 and stayed until we made sure we liked one!! For sure recommend and even more sure I’m going back very soon!

We visited Number 90 bar for a Sunday Roast. The staff were very helpful and the social Distancing protocols were also good. We had a covered table on the Canalside which was useful as it rained quite heavily. We all had the Beef topside which was okay. The vegetables were good but sparse consisting of only Carrots, Broccoli, Cabbage and a few courgettes. We were however disappointed with the gravy which was too small and too thin. The drinks are somewhat overpriced but we enjoyed the location and the friendly staff. It is a very large location with a lot of outdoor seating. The view of the canal is perfect. We shall visit again but perhaps only for drinks.

Went here for food and drinks this weekend. Atmosphere was great, lovely bustling vibe but not too loud or chaotic - lovely spot by the canal. Burgers were good, only real let down was service which was a little hectic which is understandable for a busy Saturday afternoon, had to change my order after paying as when the waitress went back to the kitchen they were told the beef brisket was unavailable. After refund process and reordering, food service was quick but additional sauces didn’t arrive, drinks service was much slower.

What kind of idiot puts a family with a three year old child directly underneath a speaker? Final straw was when we moved to a quiet table and got told off by the waitress because - according to her - ten unoccupied tables were all booked to be magically taken 15 minutes later. If you don’t want families then be honest about it. Don’t be bloody rude and then think you can lecture someone on where they can and can’t sit. Don’t eat here if you are a family or if you think a waitress is supposed to be polite and friendly. Went to the Lord Napier which was excellent

I came for dinner and request a gluten free bread as I’m intolerant to gluten, which the waitress completely ignored. After trying the bread I started to feel really sick so I ask the waitress again if the bread was gluten free, he answer really rude that it was lying to me! I finish in the hospital with an allergic reaction. Really bad customer service + intolerances are not a joke and clearly in this place they don’t see it as something important. (I paid more to have the gluten free bread) like how insane is that

I've been here for Sunday roasts, really delicious. However yesterdays saturday brunch experience gave me 1 and half day of food poisoning... I had the buffalo chicken burger with sweet potato fries... Been in the loo since an hour after I left till noon next day.... Will I go back?.... i'm not so sure and i'm torn because the Sunday roast was pretty good... Normal menu is kinda meh...

Slow service and terrible flavours. Food is very plain and without any good spice combination. It was a weird mix of options and the staff could get more training. The toilets were not well maintained and needed to be checked by staff at least once an hour. Great view of the canal but you find that in other venues.

Cool place to hang out in Hackney Wick! The venue is pretty much old school which is making it even better, you can find some art works inside the venue too. Huge terrace is an amazing addition as you can sit by the canal, watch the boats passing by and enjoy the sun. Good weekend vibes with DJ’s as well! Place matches perfectly to the whole artistic area around, glad to explore places like that in London! Staff was super nice and friendly, prices average, drinks on point. See you soon ❤️

  • Libby Wales

Only go here if you can sit outside. Inside it was huge but a bit of a dead atmosphere and the burger meat was low quality you could tell. The veggie option was muchhhh nicer. Much better places around the area, but drinks outside on the canal is a vibe if you book a table

Really nice place to stop before going to the stadium near by, less than 5 minuets walk. We sat out side by the canal and had a really good view. The food was great and the beer too. We had a few cocktails that were on a buy one het one free which is a great offer and even better considering where you are. I would definitely revisit here anytime I go to the Olympic park and would 100% recommend here to anyone else.

  • Anna Danielo-Cook

Nice vibes but rubbish roast. 2 potatoes, soggy and not crispy at all. Yorkshire was nice but the whole thing was cold and had big school dinner energy. The other food looked nice, should’ve got something else. The staff were great and gave us 50% off though when we mentioned it. Would come back just not for a roast

A venue that is mostly used as a bar and hosts different DJ s at the weekends. It is very spacious and has high ceilings and riverside outdoor area. you can also reserve some tables for specific occasions. It has variety of beer brands .cocktails are ok here and food is really good.try their burgers and also their spicy sweet potatoes! The staff are nice and doing their best to make you comfortable .

Located in Hackney Wick, in a very quirky location. Set on the Canal and has seating with a nice view. Good vibes there on a Saturday night, including a live DJ, playing house and funk and there is ofc a dance floor. The burgers were really good! Something different trying the charcoal burger, but it was definitely worth it. Recommend to anyone looking for a new venue to enjoy.

  • Peter Fellows

Top little spot along the canal in East London. Was here for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed- wow the servings were fantastic and a great vegetarian option. Yorkshire puddings were top notch. Cool vibe on a sunny day and service was really excellent. Keen to come back with more people next time. Easy connections to hackney wick and can walk to Stratford easily as well.

  • Ming F.

They had no gluten free food and no red wine and all. They were really insensitive and rude to my friend about it and my friend had nothing to eat. We had to ask 4 times to get the bill. The food was okay. Overall it was just really disappointing with the service and atmosphere. It was just a really unpleasant experience.

Food was delicious, great seating outside next to the canal watching the canal boats roll by every once in a while. Only wish all the outside heaters worked, but otherwise a nice 'hidden' gem. Great location - minutes walk from Westfield, the Copper box stadium and the Olympic park on one side, and all the studios, theatres and creatives of Hackney Wick on the other side.

  • Katya Macmillen

Can't recommend this place enough - lovely atmosphere, great drinks, but the staff/service are what make it - never been treated so nicely, the two female staff members (I think one was called Danielle?) who served us were so lovely and made such a difference. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends and coming back!

Big space, good vibe. Went here for a late lunch, was disappointed at first that they only had roasts on Sunday, but I didnt need to be! I had vegan roast, my friend had pork. Both were really tasty & the portions were big. Only improvement would be if they did vegan yorkshires. The barman made a decent espresso martini & theres a good selection of beers & wines.

We went for the time out offer of bottomless wings and cocktail - the cocktail was an aperol spritz, but you could also have beer or wine. The wings were fantastic, however a little slow to arrive. I would absolutely go there again

This place is INCREDIBLE! All the drinks I had were on point, the food tastes delightful and was visibly appeasing. The staff were friendly, kind, helpful and awesome, special shout out to Ines! Decent price range as well. Loads of outdoor seating with heated lamps and a decent view next to the canal. Definitely would recommend!

The location is brilliant. Our table had a lovely view to the river. The staff were very welcoming and polite. The food was great and the prices were normal. You must try the white sangria jug cause it was super delicious. I also like the fact that you can book your table on the same day via the website. We will be back soon!

I hasn't been here in years and wow it's changed! Super trendy spot on the canal. The food is really nice but they do seem to struggle with the volume of people. We waited nearly an hour for our desert. After complaining twice, we were also surprised that it wasn't taken off the bill at the end. But hey ho.

  • Paul trupernatural

Great atmosphere very busy but fun and sociable. I had the vegan burger and chips and I can honestly say with the blend of Indian spices it was the best vegan burger I have had. Me and a few friends stopped by for a few pints and food before my birthday kicked off and I'm glad for the experience.

  • No Harm In Trying

An average experience. Managed to book a table outside on the boat but wasn't great in high wind. Our waitress asked a member of our party who had just ordered a chicken burger if she was vegan. Quinoa and jackfruit burger had no taste but the sweet potato fries with salsa verde was great.

  • Irena Savchenko

Spacious and airy inside with a lovely deck terrace outside overlooking the canal. Quirky décor, buzzing vibe, good music. Good selection of craft beer and ales. Innovative menu, with good vegetarian and vegan options. Their turmeric burger and sweet potato fries were outstanding!

  • Dan Lane

Had the signature 90’s Burger and it absolutely hit the spot! Stayed for some drinks after and the overall vibe was brilliant! The staff were excellent and always came round to see if we needed more drinks/food. Would come back to try out more of their burger selection! More

Great service, great atmosphere. I booked a table for 15 people which was accepted. I ordered the dirty fries which was delicious. The staff are really friendly; the bar staff make a great cocktail, the food staff are very helpful. A hidden gem of a place, will come again.

We had a fantastic work summer party on the Bar 90 boat. It's the perfect event space as you have an indoor private area as well as the deck. Thank you to Lee for organising and to our wonderful barman Tom who looked after us all day and made us amazing cocktails.
