Very good dinner, incredibly cozy space in the backyard of what seems to be a normal house. Focaccia is a must order, 11/10, would have as my last meal on death row. Kale ceasar is fantastic and much needed leafy break between rather lean fiber-wise dishes. Smashed potatoes were wondeful and properly intense with garlic and parmesan umami goodness, no notes. We skept the lasagna based on other reviews and went for Salmon and green beand instead which were very well made, delicious and dare I even say healthy. The fish was baked very well, not dry, not oversalted, 10/10. Wine list consists of natural wines and priced very (!!!) wallet-friendly. We had a bottle of La Boutanche (Cinsault from Rhone) and loved every drop of it. Overall—very very very good times! Would come again.

Plenty of vegetarian options, mostly appetizers, but those are very hearty and I can imagine us not ordering the “big” dish at all—portions are generous and delicious.

The food was terrific. Lily and Meg were very attentive and welcoming. We loved the atmosphere of the bistro. Drinks were also wonderful. Since I am in the service industry, I know that despite the absence of staff, there is no reason for glasses of wine (not specialty beverages) to arrive after the dinner is served when ordered at the same time. Additionally, Avery's service was awful. Even if it is team service, he never returned after taking the order to check on our drinks, food, or if anything was needed. At one point, he stood at the front podium, looked around the patio, and then at our table, saw me looking at him and turned back around. No customers were entering who needed his attention. We had no poor interaction during the order taking, so his lack of attention was unwarranted, and his service was appalling. We will return but will certainly request another server and be sure to order our drinks immediately.

We made a reservation for 8:30pm. We were seated for probably 10 minutes before our server came up to us. Immediately she told us the kitchen was closing so we needed to order. When we tried to order they told us they were out of literally half the menu, which isn’t a very big menu to begin with. After we ordered we didn’t see our server again until we paid the check. Every time we needed more water, we had to find someone who worked there and ask for it. The food took an hour and ten minutes for us to finally get (we ordered 2 salads and 2 pieces of chicken), which is funny because I thought the kitchen was closing. It was quite expensive for what we got. Poor service. Also if you’re going to rush us to order, maybe don’t offer reservations that close to close? I get it, the place is cute. The food was fine. But we were there for 2 hours, and spent about 15 minutes of it eating. Very disappointed.

DO NOT EAT AT NONA BISTRO!!!!! Terrible, horrible staff. I made a reservation 2 weeks ago for my birthday and selected Nona as the place for my once a year birthday dinner. We arrived, and they extremely rudely told me that it is raining and I could take my chances, but we would probably get rained out. I asked if there was anything they could do, explained that I made the reservation 2 weeks in advance for my birthday, and he rudely said "nope, sorry, people made reservations for inside because it's cooler than outside and you made a reservation for outside so". They made no effort to rectify. Showed no care. It was truly some of the worst customer service I have ever received. I was blown away. We were standing in the rain, I was in tears, and an employee came out and scoffed at us. What a joke. So disgusting. Please take your business elsewhere. These people do not care about the people they are serving.

I had high hopes for this place. The kitchen is in a bungalow while the seating is spread out across the backyard (with some additional seating in a converted garage), unfortunately that was about the only positive part of this restaurant. The wait staff seemed aloof and a bit confused by the menu, HINT there are definitely bones in the fish. I asked for my steak medium rare and they brought me a piece of charcoal (shout out to the server who was nice enough to bring it back and get me a new one), also the steak did not come with any sides....unless if you consider wilted arugula a side. Also you're not fooling anyone with that Charcuterie board, I know a WooHoo deal when I see one. Lastly the service was super slow and confused. I was stuck talking to my wife for an additional 20 minutes, the last thing I want to do on date night.

Loved the setting, and the design detail: from the outdoor ambience, to the pottery, napkins, warm lighting. It felt both elegant and casual. The service was just right: not hovering but there when needed; we were definitely looked after by a very attentive crew. And the food, the summertime fare and drink options were inventive, delicious, and both light and filling (we had several small plates, and recommend the artichoke and smashed potatoes, though we enjoyed it all!) Dessert was a warm chocolate chip cookie and pound cake with lemon curd and fresh berries. It is marvelous to have so many delightful and inspiring restaurants in Salt Lake City - this one is definitely a keeper.

Went here for a date night on Friday night. Super cute place tucked behind a house. I loved the atmosphere. Our server was lovely but service was a bit slow. It took an unusually long time to get a glass of wine and a beer and our food took awhile too. I ordered a steak and it was underwhelming. I like a steak that’s bursting with flavor and has a somewhat tender texture. This one was a bland and tough to cut and chew. I expected with a $40 price it would be fantastic but that was not the case. My boyfriend, however, got the chicken piccata and it was delicious. I will definitely give this place a second try but the food experience did not match the atmosphere and the hype!

YUM. Nona is a must-try when in Salt Lake City. Just across the street from Loki Coffee, Nona is in a garage just behind a brown brick house. They have heaters going to keep you warm and the space is very inviting. Our server was very warm and welcoming and got us started with drinks and menus right away. I chose the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! I’ve tried many breakfast sandwiches and I liked that Nona’s added a unique twist to theirs with the prosciutto. Prices are very fair. I overall had a lovely experience. I can’t wait to visit when patio season is back and experience Nona outside!

Loved the casual meets fancy vibe of Nona. It makes you feel like you are eating really yummy food in your friends backyard. I got the chicken, focaccia, green beans, and cheese lasagna to share between two people. The portion sizes were great and we could have been fine with the chicken and bread for two people. I’d be happy getting those two items anytime I go. I don’t think I’d order the lasagna again. It felt like a margarita pizza in the form of lasagna and wasn’t for me. There were many different types of seating options from two person to ten(ish) person tables. We ate around 6pm on a hot summer evening and sitting in the shade the heat didn’t bother me.

Unique, cozy, rustic, garage-like atmosphere located in the rear of the property with attentive service. Chicken piccata was tender and delicious. Focaccia was served with a cold marinara dipping sauce. The grilled cabbage was a standout with a slightly spicy dressing. The chopped salad with roasted chicken was tasty but wet and over-dressed with a modest amount of small, dry chicken pieces. The lasagna was a unique execution with two 5x5 sheets of pasta and lots of cheese baked in a cast iron dish.

My partner and I came here for dinner a few weeks ago. Loved the patio area and the ambience. It wasn’t too loud, the tables were far enough apart to where you could focus in on your own convo. We got the artichoke and focaccia to start and..wow. Amazing. Our entrees were also fantastic, service was solid, and everyone was really nice. Next time I need to make sure to leave room for the cookie they have on offer for desert. I really wanted to try it but was pretty full. Anyway, we’ll be back here soon,

I saw this restaurant on TikTok and wanted to try it. I was super disappointed when I saw their menu online lists their food for cheaper than in person. When we ordered, we noticed the options were extremely limited and very pricy so I assumed the food must be amazing then. We paid $40 for a single steak with no sides and it was average at best. Our sever was pretty absent. The patio was covered in flies everywhere and the tables were so tiny and cramped. I unfortunately won’t be going here again and wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.

Table for 11, outside. Table was set, however: chairs were filthy, table wasn’t cleaned off so we had to pick up everything and have someone clean it off. The rock floor had so many gaps that our chair legs were sinking into the dirt. Negroni was over-bitter and took 20+ minutes. Charcuterie board, $25/large, fit on a dinner plate. Focaccia was good. Chicken Piccata was good, too, but an entree of a huge chicken cutlet and pile of arugula is pretty boring. Service: we had a nice server who was new. She was determined to figure out how we could each pay an equal portion, kudos to her! Will not return.

Not quite there… Came for brunch on a Sunday. Outside and inside seating areas are beautiful with a nice vibe. Portions are small. My egg (yes, just one egg) in the shakshuka was not cooked at all. We weren’t ever checked back with after the food was served or I may have mentioned it. Server seemed quite uninterested when we did see him. Never offered coffee refills. I can’t excuse that they were too busy as there were only 2 other tables while we were there, or it would be understandable. Most in our party were still hungry after so went to another establishment in the area to get more food.

Surprised there was a restaurant behind a house, easily missed if you were looking for it. It was chilly in the evening and we asked if we could sit inside but they said our reservation was chosen as outside (it was the only choice online) which was fine, we had space heaters that were barely working but we all managed. Chicken picatta was really good and the $40 ribeye steak came with no sides and was cut a little too thick and was topped off with too much salt but overall it was good.

I have been looking forward to checking out Nona for a couple of months. The outdoor patio is my favorite I’ve been to anywhere in Salt Lake. The vibes are 10/10. The grilled cabbage was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The focaccia was chewy and salty, just how I like it! My chicken was a little bland, but didn’t effect my overall experience. Highly recommend checking out this gem for a perfect patio evening.

The place is not bad, I think most Americans would like this place. I notice that most women care a lot about the ambience as much or even more than the food, so if you are a girl you most likely will like this place has a hipster vibe to it, the girl, that was with me, was very excited about the $10 Christmas lights and decoration. The food was good but I was not impressed with it. Value is ok, on the plus side they sell alcohol for their who drink

We’ve gone twice and both times absolutely loved the food. The first time we had the chicken piccata - and it was absolutely delicious. The most recent time we were there was this last weekend, and since most of their seating is outdoors usually seating was limited. But the food was just as good as we remembered it. This time the menu had changed, and we had the pumpkin chili and the steak and they were both wonderful. We love having the cookie after - it’s the perfect dessert.

This place is beautiful, in the backyard, surrounded by trees and greenery, but the services is terrible. It was like our server didn't know he was supposed to interact with us. We got no refills on water and we were not asked how we were doing, if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our dinner. I give the service zero stars. The food was mediocre at best. Chicken picatta is pounded very thin, and this one was not pounded at all and what the heck is up with that sauce on it - yuk!!. So disappointing!

Great food and atmosphere. We had the focaccia, green beans, chicken, and cheese lasagna. It’s a nice spot for a date night or group meal because there is a variety of table sizes. I personally don’t like being waited on, so I prefer this style of ordering at the counter and having it brought out. There was also live music when we went which was fun. It reminds me of the restaurants in Austin that feel like you’re in someone’s backyard.

If you're looking for a cool spot to have some drinks I recommend this spot, but if you're wanting to eat yummy food, I would go elsewhere. Cool spot, but with a limited menu, I expected way more flavor. The chicken was tasteless. The artichoke was descent along with the lemon pound cake dessert.

Bring the people you enjoy banter with to Nona. This restaurant has a great culture, service standard, design, and seasonal menu. If you enjoy a European dining cadence and highly organic social experience, this is the perfect place for you.
