There are 2 locations on Alberta, so double check before you head out. We were looking for the show at the other location (on 11th?). Anyways, this location had a fabulous show, which I was a bit more partial to. We picked up a print from the show -AND- a print I'd only seen randomly on the Internet! The store guy (sorry I forgot your name) checked the other location for the piece my husband specifically came to find. Unfortunately, it had sold out. If you are a local artist, this is a beautiful space for a showing (giant courtyard). If you are looking for a fun art piece, this is a great starting point. If you are looking for a gift/card/special item, there are lots of local artists represented. I even saw Miffy the Bunny merch. I haven't seen any of her things in AGES! Excited to come back (and to the other location) next time we are in Portland.

I stumbled across this gallery (or shall I say art bar) after eating at Poke Mon next door. A lovely concept of chill beer bar and affordable art. Currently on exhibit is art made from coasters which makes for interesting original micro masterpieces. Additionally they have a decent selection of prints, greeting cards, and lapel pins. Be sure to check out the beers and sit and draw at one of the adorable table benches. They have a good selection with some beers I haven't seen on tap at other places. Excited to see what goes up next month.

Continued to love this place and the events they host. They just hosted a DJ and draw event where DJs came to spin and throw down their own beats and mixes. True urban culture and scene mixed with creativity from illustrations. They have other events like "Bug & Brew" where you can draw live unique bugs as well as their weekly drink and draw. The owners have been such welcoming and awesome people since the first day I moved here. Great environment! Come check it out when you drop through Portland

This is a great art space to check out! They always have great shows every month featuring contemporary artists that are more relatable and accessible than your typical art gallery. They also have a large selection of prints, books, and accessories from past shows. It's also a great place to go to meet up as they have a Drink and Draw every Thursday, and they also have mini pop up shops featuring local creators.

Nucleus feels like an art exhibit should feel. Unpretentious, available to the masses and with art you don't need a degree to understand. You can even scan over everything real quick and run past everything to pretend it's a real life Instagram

Great small and intimate art gallery. They serve local beers on tap and canned wine and cider as well. Look forward to going to one of their drawing nights they host. They also sell beautiful enamel pins from the artists they host.

Nucleus has been on my visit list for a long time and it did not disappoint! The gift shop is stellar and has so many great artists. The staff also clearly love what they do and will have great artist recommendations for you.

Such good vibes, I purchased some beautiful prints, stickers, scarves and postcards. Ray (the gallery employee) was super friendly and helpful. Over all a great stop, but beware it is very tempting to buy everything in there!

Exhibitions of some of my absolute favorite artists. It's free and an awesome way to spend 10 mins to 3 hours, depending on how intensely you stare at the hundreds of pieces on exhibit at any moment

Small space used adequately, featuring several artists. Prints, pins, cards, etc to shop. Offering adult beverages if the local variety. Cool hang spot to stop and stare for a bit.

Disclaimer: I'm not a big art guy. Having said that, I really liked the art they showed off here. Very eclectic and inspired by fantasy, anime and surreal settings.

We visited both locations, both on Alberta, the first at the 29th, and the other at 12th. Each location had a unique art show. It is good to see art in person.

Nice atmosphere, Cool place for unique patches, prints, or pins. i love the drink and draw sessions they have on Thursdays. Only really serve beer.
