Today I came with my daughter for her first cinema experience. We came with friends. We had purchased aisle seats so our children could get up and go to the toilet without disturbing others. Once in the cinema we were greeted by an attendant who came to show us to our sears. Unfortunately they were occupied. There were no other 5 seats together for us to sit in with our small children. The attendant was polite, helpful and kindly ask for those in our seats to move to their original seats- they refused as they had come in a large party, even when asked several times they were rude and refused to move from our seats. The manager was called and I can confirm she was also very polite but still the people in our seats refused to move. This resulted in the whole cinema being disturbed as the advertisements were paused, lighting came on and everyone was asked to shift seats (if they were not in their designated seating). Eventually this was sorted, I cannot praise the staff enough as they handled the situation very calmly and even when the people who had caused the chaos were being rude, they still remained polite and professional. To our surprise they handed us and the others who were disturbed, free tickets at the end of the showing and apologised several times. The staff handled everything perfectly and were extremely professional.
I was really disappointed with our visit to the Odeon in Orpington last night. After not being able to come for so long. The disturbance from some of the viewers who clearly didn’t care about the turn off the phone rule. Phones constantly flashing and ringing during the film. The Popcorn was absolutely awful.. It taste like it had been left since the start of lock down last year. Normally it’s really tasty. But both myself and partner couldn’t eat it. I tried to speak to a member of staff after the film about it, but no one seemed to care or want to speak about. It’s like they knew something wasn’t right with it. I found the staff quite hard to talk to and I know we weren’t the only ones to complain about the popcorn or the disturbance during film. It just made the first experience back, off putting. You can see why people would rather stream films and watch from home these days. There’s no enjoyment at the cinema anymore. I don’t think we’re be back anytime soon.
Nice and clean, following all the covid rules. Had to wait a couple of minutes while the seats in our screen was being cleaned, all good. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. LIKE: You can book tickets online and just scan your phone upon arrival. DON'TLIKE:You have to order drinks snacks etc via a touch screen ( McDonald's style) and pay by card ( no cash)but then walk over to the counter and they hand them to you! Also think the tickets are a bit overpriced for what you get for your money. Asking £16 for a premium seat ( standard seat with a bit more leg room and a headrest basically) or £12 for a standard seat. Bit much if you ask me to see the new Bond film. Considering I could have got cheaper tickets for a reclining seat at another well known cinema in Bromley (unfortunately sold out for the time & date I wanted) Am I just paying extra for the ODEON name I ask myself.
We have a loyalty card, and we wish we had more time so we could come here more often. Been about 6 times since it opened. Always found it to be excellent. We book online, we get there late, we collect our tickets from the self-service machine, we take a seat in a room that's never packed but never eerily empty either, and we enjoy the show. Comfy seats, plenty of legroom and there's loads of available seating if you don't like the view. People are always nice inside. Not too noisy when they're chewing their popcorn, and never heard anyone talking on the phone. Never tried the food or refreshments there, but I don't have any of those at the cinema anyway, and I don't judge them on that basis.
Watched a movie yesterday. The sound system in screen 2 was horrible. Only the right channel was working for the surround. Even that was distorted. And after hearing for an hour the right ear was irritating..the sound had no punch at all looked like no subwoofers. My home theater has better punch and surround surround effect. At interval went out made a complaint to a staff who looked like a manager or supervisor. But no one even managed to come in and have a look . Nothing changed Altogether the atrocious sound effect spoiled the whole experience.
Excellent to see a new cinema in Orpington. Staff were helpful and friendly on opening day. I was in screen 7 and could only get two seats on the end of the second row , so not the best, despite that the seats were amazingly comfortable with good legroom as well. It was standard seating so I am looking forward to trying out the premier seats. Looks like I wont have to go to Bluewater again, which is a godsend, as I only used to go because of the cinema. Well Done Odeon, keep up the good work.
Despite living walking distance from this cinema I have only just got round to seeing a film there! Was very impressed with the whole experience. The cinema was clean, the seats were very comfortable and raked up to offer the best view and the screen was huge. Only lost a star because at the time the air conditioning wasn't working so it was a little stuffy. Will definitely be back though, it's very convenient and has definitely brought Orpington and the local area up, which is a good thing.
Not too bad for films but part of the experience is grabbing popcorn etc. This can only be done through self-service screens, even though the collection points can be empty. They're not too intuitive like, for example, McDonalds etc and if you have a reward card, this needs to be entered before you order. If you don't do this, the whole order needs cancelling. Our frustration was eventually sorted by a staff member allowing us to go straight to the till for food and drinks.
This might be the last time I ever go to a cinema. The experience was awful. For some reason the management think that the sound volume should only range between extremely loud and thunderous. I spent the whole time in the cinema with my fingers in my ears. It is of no consequence that other aspects of the visit were okay the sound ruined it. The temperature in the screen was on the uncomfortable side of cool but I could live with that.
Good cinema located within numerous shops and restaurants. There is a good selection of drinks and snacks and plenty of screens so lots of films to choose from. The family ticket (2 adults, 2 kids) which includes 5 snacks is a bargain at £43 including booking fee. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room. Tiered seating means little ones do not have to worry about big people sitting in front of them.
Enjoyed my visit to Orpington's ODEON, my 1st return visit since Boris locked everyone down...except himself and anyone around him (anyone for wine and cheese, BYOB). The cinema as clean and tidy...shame some of the other patrons didn't take their rubbish with them when they left (wonder what their home are like?). Seat was comfortable, sound was great, the film (Belfast) was excellent. It was good to go back.
Everything looks new. There are machines where you can buy your cinema tickets or redeem vouchers. You can also order food at the machines. Really quick and nice. Very helpful staff on hand to help you make sense of the machines as well. Popcorn and drink regular size was okay for a 3hr stint at the movies and there are lots of food options too. Large toilets, fairly clean. Good experience.
Nice cinema, with several screens, good seating and screen size, and reasonable prices. Plenty of leg room for seating, so the higher priced seating is purely for the location. Outside they do have a seating area to wait in, as well as hot and cold food and drink to buy. Tickets can be bought online and easily collected at automated terminals, or bought from the cashier desks.
Nice cinema but it is quite small. Especially when it caters to quite a lot of people. Ticket prices are reasonable of you go a week or two after a movie is released as the prices change depending on the popularity of the movie. Mondays are great to go on as the base price of a ticket is under £7 for an adult. Not bad in any way but certainly not the best cinema either.
Overall the cinema is good, the staff seem not to understand special needs I visited with a group of autistic children and because they where loud when waiting for the toilet with there mum's, one of the staff told them to get out of the ladies toilets. I thought that as we had explained their needs before booking the staff should have been made aware before we arrived.
Lovely place to visit, staff are polite, place is clean. But it's lacking that personal touch which I think maybe because pandemic has changed peoples attitudes towards life and others in general. Management, keep an eye on this aspect, because if it gets any worse this may start putting people off frequenting this particular venue! Regards Christian
The Cinema is located near the Walnuts Shopping centre 7 screens of film available p £11 per ticket is a bit expensive considering the seat doesn’t recline I went to see Bad Boys 3 The movie was great but the whole experience was very expensive Open 7 days a week A Costa is available The cinema was clean Staff friendly and polite
I use to go to this cinema quite often. And on my last visit, I lost my wallet here but I did not realize it. Then Miss Madeleine from the cinema has contacted me to inform me that the wallet is safe and that I can come over to collect it. I am so glad that my wallet was found. Thank you, really happy that it was found!
Lovely cinema and easy access from the car park. Reasonably priced tickets, very friendly and helpful staff. Seating was nice and I must add that my daughters and even more so myself was pleasantly suprised by the fact that the pick and mix is purchased by a capped cup size! So no cup weigh in surprise bills! …
This cinema is loud, and the isense screens are even louder! But I don't meant this in a complimentary way. Visually the screens are sharp and have uniform brightness. I've never spotted any focusing issues. Toilets were unclean on most recent visit and look like could do with more frequent maintenance.
Visited here for a Indian movie. The place is really good good kept clean and friendly staff. Hassel free. Rows are placed spaciously.. One drawback I felt is the standard seats are a bit short for tall people and it doesn't have neck support which may prove to be a bit painful for long movies.
Good quality screens, good size. Comfy seats, both standard and premium. Have been to 7 or 8 screenings from mid day to late afternoon and audiences have been attentive and engaged with the film. So not know if evening audience differs. This Odeon serves pizza though I have not tried it.
Took my grandaughter to see Wish. After many many adverts, trailers and then even more adverts, we left. It was just soo incredibly loud.. too loud. Also it was cold inside at £22.00, they should have least put the heating on :( My grandaughter didn't enjoy the atmosphere :(
While the seating and film were good I would not go there again. I am 79 years old. On going into screen 1 it was completely dark. No light at all. It was very scary. I felt along the wall and found a door to the seating. Lighting very poor all round. Health and safety!!!!!!
Good cinema but pricey. Started ok but seat prices are now high for a suburban location. £39 for two children and a grandparent. No concessions. If you don't use a machine to buy tickets, you have to pay cash. I thought cash was or is discouraged. Staff lovely though. M
Trying to get on to the Odeon website on a PC, using Google or Firefox is well nigh impossible! How to drive away customers - to another cinema like Vue in Bromley! Can get on to their website =- no problem. Come on Odeon - get this sorted!
Shame there are no reclining seats in this cinema. I don’t like the new food pre-order system and the quality of the food isn’t as good as it used to be (and by food I mean as good at junk food can be). Cinema is clean and well maintained.
We visited the screen 4 isense, and though seats are a bit hard the screen is fairly large and good for action films. Toilets were relatively modern and clean, and parking in the nearby Centre only a 2 minute walk and not overly expensive.
Decent screen, friendly staff. There was 3 of us. We had a 2 for 1 discount (meerkat movies) that we was charged £18 for, but the regular ticket was £14 how does that work? Will go to another cinema next time we use that supposed discount
First time in over 18 months. Not disappointed. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our visit. Will defo be going back. Only gripe is that there were not enough Jalapeños on the Nachos. But I'm being picky
I was there a few weeks ago, on my first visit. Screen was good, seating was comfortable (although the seat numbers were difficult to make out). However I had the misfortune to use the men’s toilets which were completely disgraceful.
How the odeon ever does any business beats me,no advertising at entrance,in my day the 1960s every cinema including Odeon's the outside was plastered with coming films, yours is pathetic it's a wonder you get anyone through the doors
We went to watch super Mario bros the movie and we loved the experience and enjoyed the reduced price offer for adults only downside is the parking which only takes cash so it delayed our arrival. We now know for next time! …
First time there actually and the whitney Houston biopic happened to be on quite nifty quite spaced out massive in the inside didnt know there was an odeon in the centre but definitely a very good experience and service........
Excellent cinema experience (but a tad loud!). Very comfortable seating, great screen and friendly, helpful staff. Convenient parking close by and right in the heart of Orpington near all the shops and restaurants - excellent!
Quiet early evening performance but cheerful staff welcoming. A place to lose yourself from the day. 09/7 - very quiet for 2pm screening. Lovely but staff welcoming 13/11 - cheap day but dead quiet at 3pm. Still preferable.
Seniors silver showings are a fantastic way of getting me into watching films that I would rarely go to see, without spending a great deal to see them. A great marketing idea to encourage us oldies to part with our pension.
Yeah, I like this one. Decent number of screens, always clean. Only knocked one star for the lack of recliners. The foyer is airy and selection of snacks is decent. There's a Costa so parents can get their caffeine fix
Very quiet at 3:15pm on a Wednesday, even on a wet day in the school holidays. Helpful staff. But the up escalator was out of action so the alternatives are stairs or one small lift which would not cope at busy times.
Excellent local cinema, great screen size and sound quality. Different tiers of seating depending on your budget but all are comfortable. Great value too and quick service with plenty of staff on duty at all times
This is a constant experience that I go to as I have the oden pass. Would recommend if there are a few films that you want to watch in one month as it saves money. People are friendly and overall hygiene is good
We really enjoy going to newbie screenings with our baby. The staff are so friendly and help is to have a good time. They hold doors and are always polite. The cinema itself is clean and well maintained.
Brilliant experience at this cinema. Is clean, modern and has extremely comfortable seats. Management were extremely helpful with a slight issue and resolved this without question. Really impressive
We watched “The railway children return” at here this morning. The environment was perfect, it is air-conditioner equipped. You can also buy food and drink from here. We got popcorn and hotdogs.
Saw John Wick 4, booked online and bought drinks at the bar due to using cash rather than ordering using the screens in the foyer. Nice carafe of red wine for £19. Only six of us in theatre 1.
Brilliant atmosphere staff are phenomenal and the quality of the screens and sound are great I greatly prefer odeon to places like showcase because it's more family friendly
Took my disabled son to the cinema today and was helped greatly by the manager who helped him when he drops his food really appreciate it what a kind man thank you very much
Great experience with the family. The cinema screen I was in on this occasion quite warm and only cooled down towards the end of the film but all in all, it was good.
Overall great. Was expecting a bigger screen and also the price for 1 ticket was equal to the price of 1 month unlimited shows.. don't know what the logic is …
Have been coming here for a few years now and it's always the same standard; not bad but not as good as vue. Nevertheless it's a very nice and well kept place.
Lovely cinema. Very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Film was great. Sound was a bit loud for me at times. Otherwise good place to take the kids.
Sadly, the place was very cold. Spoilt the occasion. The seating was 'tight' and in long rows with exits only at one end. How did they get away with that?
This is an amazing cinema with great movies and comfortable cinema rooms - the only problem being that the food & snacks available are really expensive.
We went for a late show - our screen was full but generally was quiet - good surround sound system- queue for popcorns and nachos wasn’t was not long
Clean and modern cinema with helpful staff and a Costa Coffee. The membership deal is a bargain if you like to go regularly ie once a week.
Nice cinema and I do enjoy watching a film here Just wish people wouldn't look at their phones during films, and staff do nothing about it
Every time we visit we have great experience. Have plenty of food choices and refreshments. Always clean salons and polite stuff
Staff always friendly and helpful, good range of films and comfortable seats at reasonable prices. Sound and vision very goof
I had a great time there and the staff were super friendly happily chatting they even gave us an extra scoop of ice cream
Very good never to busy, but always a mess for the staff to clean up, shame some of the visiters are not considerate.
It's alright but whenever I went here the cinema was full of noisy kids can't enjoy the movie to the fullest
Lovely manager, helped me with my ticket when I had bought a ticket for a wrong time, very pleasant person
Well maintained and clean. Since it's on the high street, it is easily accessible by public transport
Only been once which was fine but now I'm on a mobility scooter unsure if it would accommodate me
Friendly staff and my son got to see Spider Gwen which was a bonus for both of us …
We visited to watch John Wick 4. It is great to have a cinema in the local community.
Nice and very clean. Staff are very welcoming in nature. Movie collection is okay.
It was nice place, cloud me more clean and refreshed, a nice place for kids
Depending upon your folm tastes, then yeah, it's ok in Orpington Odeon x
Very clean warm and comfy, the screens I have viewed are all very good
Very good place to watch the best films around when you visit enjoy it
Lots of big screens, nice sparkly new and clean. Great cinema
Great cinema but very disappointed coffee machine o.o.o!
Only went in to get some information, staff were helpful
Good experice. Good sound system. Seat comfortable.
Very nice comfy seats. Bit loud for me Dolby Amos.
Expensive but my kids enjoyed the barbie movie
Lovely place to get away and zone into a film
Quite comfortable seating and clean
