Since Covid, I've consciously supported local cinemas, opting to watch all movies in cinema. However, each visit since 2021 has been marred by issues, making the experience less enjoyable. During our recent visit, the HVAC system malfunctioned (again and again), subjecting us to a freezing cinema for a 2hr movie, and we resorted to using our coats as blankets and running to a coffee shop to get a warm drink to warm up. Despite informing the attendant, no resolution was offered. This isn't isolated; even in summer, we endured excessive heat with no remedy. A cinema's appeal lies in the overall experience, including the screen, sound, seats, and, crucially, temperature, constituting 60% of the experience. Discomfort overshadows the cinematic venture, deterring those who might prefer streaming at home. To revive interest in theaters, prioritizing customer experience is vital. Staff training in basic courtesy. Despite my politeness, staff lacked eye contact and meaningful communication, resulting in a disappointing overall interaction. To enhance the cinema experience, immediate attention to HVAC issues and staff training is imperative. A positive customer encounter is pivotal for fostering loyalty. Regrettably, I express profound disappointment, leading me to choose Cineworld in Wandsworth, despite its lack of IMAX, as it promises a superior overall experience.
Simple put - I would never to to this place again... hands down the worst cinema I've ever been to! Clearly vastly too small and old for the amount of footfall that passes through it. Upon getting up to the first floor the queues to get in were at least 20 deep and the queues for refreshment at least double that. I thought I was being clever and ordered our refreshments at the machine - not surprisingly the prices are astronomical!! The machine provided me with a ticket, with which I proceeded to wait at the collection area. I waited... and waited.... and waited... until another customer, equally as frustrated as me, informed me that you have to show them your receipt before they make your food. This seemingly completed removes the effectives and entire point of having the machines there in the first place! We saw our film in IMAX - the screen seemed no bigger than a normal screen, the seats were incredibly cramped and the space was very small which made the speakers just overbearing and almost intolerable. No air conditioning either!
Went the other day to watch Oppenheimer, the guy who served us was so so helpful and kind to my children and I. Went above and beyond when serving us. He was only a young kid but had a great work ethic. Served us, then as it was quiet he came around to sweep the front! Wish I had gotten his name!! (An Asian kid) really made the visit. It so makes all the difference of who you hire to a business! I’d pay more and travel further for this kind of service! Cinema had a good amount of staff so hardly had to queue, was nice and clean/tidy. Also a really big plus was they accepted cash! The week before I had gone to the cinema in Sutton who was card/contactless only. No cash allowed! Will not go back - should have the choice! People more than ever trying to budget so cash is key! 10/10!!
It's National Cinema Day (Sat, 02-Sep-2023). My wife and I have just been to see Cobweb, at the Wimbledon Odeon (screen 6, 21:10 showing ). Unfortunately, the whole experience was spoiled by noisy teenagers, talking, being disrespectful and using the lights on their phones. In addition to the loud chatting, the back of my seat was regularly kicked. Despite being asked to be quiet by a number of other viewers, the kids continued their conversations and laughed. The supposed tense moments in the film were ruined by giggling and immature comments. Unfortunately, it seems the staff don't do appropriate age checks, nor do they check the screen to ensure it's not being disrupted. Quite frankly, it's put both my wife and I off this particular Odeon and we're unlikely to go back.
FILTH GALORE! I’ve never really like this cinema and I’ve always found the service, decor and products on offer to be quite low standard. However, I went there this week and was disgusted by how filthy the cinema was. Already disgusted by the popcorn scattered all over the cinema floor, tissues and food left over in screen 4, I decided to put my drink in the cup holder only to be terribly greeted by a thick layer of stuffed tissue from a previous visitor (general public do better)! I felt so uncomfortable! I will not be returning here anytime soon. Staff clean up and management redo the decor, it’s been the same for over 10+ years! It’s a shame this is my local cinema. This cinema is quite awful for Wimbledon. OH AND THIS WAS IMAX!!!
Saturday afternoon, latest Indiana Jones film: lots of people arrived late shining phones in our faces; 6 year olds running up and down the aisle; a guy swearing in the back seats; huge amounts of disruption. Nobody checked tickets so people seemed to sit anywhere. The film itself was enjoyable and premier seats were comfortable, the cinema was clean and warm. However, with the lack of any cinema staff anywhere to keep people in check and to whom I could report disruptions, I couldn't honestly give this cinema any more than 3 stars. I'm certain some people didn't have ANY tickets at all and watched the film for free.
Went to watch teenage ninja turtles tonight with my family, we went into screen 3 and as soon as we entered there was a very off putting smell that got worse as we walked to our seats. The seats were also disgusting and stained. , we heard other people complaining therefore I went to the manager to let him know. he said he couldn’t smell it ( he must me used to the scent )- he tried to remedy it by spraying sanitiser on the seats which obviously did nothing and left. I watched the movie the whole time with my nose covered .. I couldn’t even eat my popcorn. Very disappointing as it was a good movie.
Lifts and escalators both out of order, with no warning to customers who'd prebooked tickets and might struggle with the (many) stairs to give the opportunity to rearrange. The projection was appalling - trailers and ads were absolutely fine but the main feature was out of focus and blurry. Reported it, to be told it's not the first time it had happened, it probably wasn't fixable, and that was that. Toilets filthy and smelly, and the seats were scattered with popcorn from previous occupants. The whole visit was an ordeal, and I won't be repeating the experience
I watched The Nun 2 in Wimbledon Odeon theater yesterday in Screen 10 and it was just a waste of my money. Almost 25% of the film were being projected outside of the screen on the curtains and walls of the theater for the small size of the screen. I missed important details of the film as they were clearly being projected outside of the screen on top of the hanging curtains. There were no one around to complain about it even so, I left the theater 30 minutes later as there was no point of being in there. An unbelievable experience from Odeon for the first time!
IMAX was incredibly loud your ears hurt. I had to walk out after 10 minutes. How is this entertainment? Three queues the longest 30 deep so takes 15 minutes to get served. Queue pictured ( at peak busy period 9pm ) with no one serving was the shortest. The one guy there disappeared to get more stock or was spending 3-4 minutes make custom deserts, per customer. Why not sell pre-packaged food like e.g. cornetto or magnum? One good thing was that requested refund of 20 quid was given without question. How is this cinema chain not bankrupt, it's so badly run?
A member of staff named Kael was extremely patient and kind to me making sure all my needs were met and helped with all the questions I had asked. Aya was also amazing, telling me all the snack combos and was extremely polite. She even took the time to share her experiences with the film I wanted to watch insuring me it was a good choice. Amarildo was Also helpful and made sure we were in the appropriate film. Kael and Aya especially made me feel welcome and are definitely the reason I would recommend going here to watch a movie :)
we visited the Wimbledon Cinema yesterday, which was a disaster for a disabled person. The elevator and the escalator weren't working so my wife needed to use the stairs with grutches she wasn't out for almost 6 months. but it doesn't end there the disabled WC was locked. this is how you shouldn't treat disabled people of course if you don't want them to come. we will never go to the Wimbledon Odeon because of how they treat disabled people at least there should be a warning on the site saying we are not welcoming disabled people.
ODEON Wimbledon is my local cinema but I find myself not visiting as much as I used to, I only really visit now for IMAX screenings. Service and screen standards outside of IMAX are hit and miss. Some of the screens are nice whilst others need a refurbishment. Toilet's are usually in a bad way, never seen a team member cleaning them, if you're visiting on a busy day, I would avoid the toilets. From a guest point of view this cinema overall needs a little TLC. Not sure if management has changed recently standards have dropped.
Cinema has been completely inaccessible to anyone with difficulty climbing stairs for weeks and weeks. Both escalators and the elevator have been out of service for weeks, with no visible signs of attempts at repair. The only access to the cinema right now is via a narrow 40-50 step staircase. This renders it completely inaccessible to anybody who has difficulty climbing such a high staircase - including those with disabilities, pushchairs, or are otherwise unable to climb the stairs. A very poor showing.
Wimbledon Odeon is just "ok". Queues for food and drink are long and slow. Generally clean but my biggest issue is the sound. It's regularly over 85db, which is not acceptable for children whose hearing is still developing. I've complained about the volume a few times and am always told its set by head office. Do yourself a favour and take the bus to Wandsworth's Cineworld. It's a completely different experience. Screens are all big, seats are comfier and the sound is perfectly balanced.
Poor quality and service .On a day when London weather was at 31 degrees, 9th Sep we were about to get into 19.30 show for Jawan Tamil and the ticket checking staff casually tells us the air conditioning is not working at all as it was broken across all screens and they were going to leave doors open for circulation. I applied for a refund and walked out. I have decided not to go to Wimbledon odeon here on. Hope it was not an excuse to reduce the electricity bills on a hot day.
Saw the movie Dune here and it was a real let down. Couldn’t see half the movie during dark scenes as small head lights were left on. Asked a member of staff and they said this was for health and safety. I understand the need for not complete darkness but compared to other cinemas it made the film screen really hard to watch. All the small headlights on is still far too bright, could see half the cinema stuffing their face with popcorn still.
It is a bit hectic place as the first floor is dedicated to a Gym and the ODEON cinema. So, if you are new to the area, it could be a bit overwhelming! In my opinion and personal opinion it is a very messy layout, the areas are not well maintained and lots of rubbish around in the first floor. The same applies for the WC, etc, etc. Overall, not the most pleasant experience, that one is expected to have when going to the movies!
Everything is amazing in this cinema participatory about the screen, sound system and staffs are very helpful as well. For me I felt that the Greta the problem is finding a car park. This cinema doesn't have a car park which is a shame. Nearby Morrisson car park is always busy. You must ensure to find the car park before reaching this cinema. The other downside is the toilet I could which can be maintained much more better
Went to watch Oppenheimer and the AC wasn't working. They didn't have signage to indicate this or let you know upon arrival. There were at least 100 people maybe more, body to body in there. Considering this was a 3hr movie, this was a big fail and could have led to a larger health and safety issue. They were apologetic after, and explained it was down but still annoying to be in torturous 25°+ temperatures.
Avoid screen 2 at the back! Disgusting carpets with grained in dirt and ripped seats! After speaking with the manager, the screen is going to have refurb but the cinema shouldn’t be selling seating in the horrible areas! I felt disgusting throughout the whole film even though I was allowed to move seats but it’s things like this where I the cinema experience is really gone and drives people to stay at home!
I like this cinema - it's clean, nice staff and well located. However, it has it's flaws too which include- no staff in the screenings to stop people using their phones which is massively distracting and rude. Also, it's 30 degrees, why is there aircon in the lobby but none in the screenings! Screen 11 was packed and very uncomfortable. I won't go again in the summer, but will any other time of the year.
Great cinema. Big screens with clear sounds. I found the seating angle going down to the screen, low on gradient. Meaning, if a tall person is sitting in front of you, there is a greater chance of him/her hindering your line of sight. More expensive of other cinema out there. I would personally prefer CINE WORLD cinema over this. As their upgraded facilities are much better than odeon.
No escalators are working yet again, and the lift is a lottery as to whether its working or not. In my view there should be a ticket only cash desk, because believe it or not some of us can watch a movie without nachos, hot dogs, wine, beer or any other vastly overpriced snacks/ refreshments. Screens, seats and sound, all excellent, and staff are always helpful.
Barbie was calling, so with many liked minded adults appeasing a young person before the end of the summer holidays, I decided to go for the Premier seats. They were very comfortable but a bit pricier compared to my last visit. The sweets and drink, did the Job and I certainly did my bit to boost the economy. The staff were great so it was a nice atmosphere.
This is the closest IMAX for me. It was an awesome experience. I've seen so many movies here in past year. Very great experiences. Staff are friendly and nachos are worth the money you pay for it. You can order your food and movie from website now when you are booking your ticket. Nachos have better taste and are better value than Vue and Cineworld cinemas.
It says opening time is at 9am but when we arrived it was not at 9:20am then we continued to wait until the staff decided to open the gate at 9:50 to which we only had 10 minutes to be ready for our 10 am film. It seems the staff do what they want at this cinema as there is no real manager controlling what time the store is opened. Shocking if you ask me
I went to watch a movie they took very long to clean and when I was going to my stay the cleaner were blocking the isle and they left a ton of rubbish in the cup holders it was horrible Dont not go go any where else they did not put the movie on for about twenty minutes after the original start time the chair and the most uncomfortable ever
Freezing cold in the screens I went to for 2 weeks now, how is this ok? An apology written a week later, on the door really doesn't cut it, I'm sorry. Movie choices have not been so great lately either, IMAX way too loud. I gave 2 stars because the staff has always been nice, so it is for them. I regret getting an annual membership.
It might screen the films or events that I want to see, and some of the staff are okay, but most of the staff are quite rude behind people's backs, and don't know how to use their own technology... the screen rooms are cold, and the seats are really uncomfortable, even the premium ones. I will only come here if I really have to.
The Odeon has a good range of screens including 3D and I-MAX and showd both the blockbusters as well as some more off beat films. There is a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream parlour in the foyer but food and snacks are cinema prices so you may want to consider buying your popcorn from the supermarket opposite Convenient parking close by
I've been going quite often to this Odeon for movies. It really enhances the movie experience with their helpful staff at the food counters. We normally go for 2 shows with a half hour in-between the shows. Invariably there is a market outside the cinema. It's delightful to grab some nice grub from the stalls outside.
A very good IMAX 3D cinema, provides with free 3D glasses, so that you don't have to buy your own pair, Premier seats have a lot of legroom, and are very comfy seats. They also have a whole range of different food products to buy, which I didn't try but I am sure that they are very good. Overall, excellent cinema
I lost my purse in the cinema and was very worried 10th Jan. William and his colleagues were friendly and helpful. Helped me and told me to come back when screening was finished and they would get the torch out and lift lights. Very luckily found my purse under seat and everything there. Very happy and grateful.
Expensive large cinema chain venue. You have to purchase your ticket from machine, in future I'd consider buying online as it's a bit cheaper. The food and drink is also pricey. Reckon on £20 each per person total. The screens, 12 in all I think, are clean and tidy. There are a couple of iMax ones.
We like this cinema quite a bit. It’s better maintained that most of the other odeons we go to. The seats are nice and clean and it’s quite big. Preferred choice for us but the only issue during the day can be parking. The nearby one gets filled quite quickly. We like coming here for night movies.
I went yesterday to see Barbie, no props, no prom material that Odeon supposed to have. The worst part was the snacks: the popcorn were old, chewy not fresh, the churros reheated WHAT? I got sick in my stomach spent night vomiting for the quality of the food, It’s Wimbledon we deserve better.
The Wimbledon odeon cinema is my go-to cinema in Wimbledon. It’s located 5min walking distance from the Wimbledon station and very close to multiple public parking stations. It has an IMAX screen, which hosts all the recent production. The staff is very friendly and the seats are comfortable.
Not enough staff on the tills, thus long queues. One of the guys that was serving gave us incorrect information about booking using a Groupon code and said he was unable to serve us - when corrected by a colleague - after I queried it - there was no acknowledement of his error …
I like odeon. The youngins who work there seem surprisingly knowledgeable about the movies, times etc etc. And the main reason why I go to odeon and not curzon around the corner is because curzon seems to be cashless!!! Odeon DO TAKE CASH! Seats very basic but cinema itself is big.
It's ok but..... If you want an Ice cream then forget it, stood at the counter for about 10 minutes and nothing, no one came to serve us, prices are extortionate, 2 scoops of Ben and Jerry's cost £5.49. rip off. Seats are pretty hard and uncomfortable, prefer Cineworld.
A great cinema that I've been visiting over 15 years. A huge number of screens available with a great selection of snacks. They could improve the cleaning between shows, and the IMAX screens are better in some other places. Overall, still a great place to catch a flick!
Snacks and drinks quite pricey. Ticketing sales system somewhat haphazard. There should be an express queue for those picking up tickets only. Gents toilets are sometimes flooded. Why are your lifts always out of order - I see mothers with buggies swearing away
Purchase tickets to watch Starwars iMax. As we were going to screen 4 we were told we don't need glasses as it's in 2d iMax. Settled down to watch movie and I can safely say it's nothing like iMax. Would have been cheaper to buy in 2d. Massive let down
Seats at Odeon Kingston are relatively better . The picture quality in the smaller screens is not clear and at times can see spots/patches on the screen which is a bit distracting.(recently watched a movie on screen 10) Staff are friendly and helpful
Visited the Odeon Wimbledon to watch Dungeons and Dungeons with my husband and sister. It's our local cinema, I've attended for many years. We had hotdogs, popcorn, chocolate, sweets and drinks to complete our evening. No doubt we'll be back soon.
I hadn't been to the cinema in quite a few years and thought id take myself along was delighted with Hannah (employee)was refreshing, engaging and informative (naturally) probably go back to be honest. Saw X I'd give 5/10 though. Hannah gets a 9
Comparing to other cinemas, this one seems to be slightly 'tired' looking one. But, since we went to watch a movie on a special cinema day deal, I can't complain of value for money there are no declining seats or tables for popcorn. They
Optimal size theatre, not too big not too small. Very comfy seats, we took the premium option for £12.50 and it was well worth it. Good selection of movies and times as they have 12 screens. I never realised how large the whole cinema is!
The seats were old and stinky and the carpet are sticky and screen was dark.I won't recommend this Odeon wimbledon maybe you could try Odeon kingston or Odeon Orpington because they are having a good neat cinema with new things. Screen 3
Avoid. They leave the lights on close to the screen which are within sightlines and dazzle. Completely defeats the object and ruins the experience. They claim it's necessary for health and safety, but I've never experienced this before.
Main reason for the low score is the screens (at least the 1 I was in.) Either they forgot to stretch it out like they normally would or they intentionally left it small which made it hard to watch from the rows further back and to the
Worst cinema I have ever been to. They don’t even turn off the lights in the theatre. Whole place is trashed and disgustingly dirty and smelly. IMAX screens are not actually IMAX. Avoid like the plague. Go to Curzon around the corner.
I usually go every weekend to this place. Theaters are good. Seats are non adjustable but comfortable enough to enjoy the experience. Toilets are well mainted and staffs are polite. Get the membership if you are a frequent movie goer.
Went yesterday with a group of friends. Very busy with very few staff in comparison. They had no popcorn or ice. The food is terrible. Staff doing the best they could. No toilet paper in the loo. It’s generally an unloved place.
Terribly poor service. No-one serving at the ice cream, was told have to queue up in the massive popcorn and drinks queue as the tills weren’t working, but they didn’t bother putting a sign up to tell people. Absolutely useless.
It's got the latest films, the screens are decent and seating layout is spacious. They don't check bags so it's simple enough to take in your own snacks and drinks from Morrisons at a fraction of the price charged at the kiosk.
Prices are abit much for the quality of the seat that you get. Same with the pop corn was a tad stale. Screen size was ok but would say experience was bit lacking for what I paid. Otherwise service from staff was all good
Screen 6 was śmall, good sound but small šeats also. Red Premier seats much better. Don't book the back row foolishly behind the Premier seats with headrest so leaves you feeling hemmed in and viewing kind of restricted
Dont sit in the front seats, in the imax. The sound is distorted. Screen is massive curved, very unpleasant. Ruined oppenhiemier. Projectionist must be a robot. I couldnt hear a third of the dialogue due to distortion.
Had a lovely time. Staff there very friendly and the cinema was just the right temperature during winter and it was pleasantly clean. Avatar in 3d was amazing. Brought in our own snacks tho...as always.
Our family went to see the new film of Indiana Jones. The film was okay not brilliant but liked seeing Harrison ford. Maybe his last film. But the sound was too loud - that's not necessary.
Astonishing If You Want to enjoy your time come when it's dark. It's a completely different experience for me. Very Good screen and everything. Chairs were amazing. Definitely recommend
Nathan, Nima and Spring are awesome. We had a small issue when booking our tickets online we put the wrong date and Nathan along with his team were very helpful in resolving our issue.
Booking was really easy online. there's no need to fuss getting tickets, I used the qr code on my phone. The place is always clean and got in as child price too with my grandson.
Friendly staff. Walking distance from Wimbledon station. You can pick some crisps conveniently from the Morrisons before walking into the cinema. Escalators are finally working.
There is often no lift or escalators working. Choice of movies goes through cycles, where there is often a few I enjoy, but other times there is nothing. The staff are great!
Escalators have not been working for while. Screens are good, concessions are over priced but standard cinema prices. Limitless is still a great deal. IMAX screen is great.
Screen was a good size and pleasantly unsticky underfoot, Please repair your coffee machine though. It's a faff to have to leave the cinema and buy one then come back in.
Nice big screen but the place looks tired and needs a refurbishment. Lifts and escalator out of action, chewing gum in drinks holder I did not feel comfortable.
Large cinema with many screens and space to wait and order snacks for the movie. The only thing is they need to make the seating space wider so you don't feel
They had no aircon and it was 32* .. they offered refund if we didn’t wanna go but that was not good enough, we had already bought snacks and paid for parking
My regular goto cinema however, had bunch of kids without tickets roaming around and completely ruined it for me and my family. Needs tighter entry control.
Rat trap on display in the toilets, bins overflowing, very scummy and dirty everywhere. Lazy staff. Lovely cinema experience. Who's managing this place ?
Went to wimbledon odeon today using my last odeon voucher expiring on 13th October. Having used tickets earlier in the week by remeedming at the kiosk.
SOLID 4 star. Aging interior with scruffy outdated exterior which could do with a revamp. But the cinema screens and premier seating are good standard.
The layout of my screen was nice and luckily where I choose was only a couple seating there. The cinema was quite empty but it was a Thursday evening.
The IMAX Oppenheimer is wayyyyyy toooo LOUD. I had to put on my AirPods in the movie. Last year’s IMAX experience was not like this. What happened?
I have monthly membership to watch odeion cinemas This place is good comparing bekenham. Best location..best service. Can't expect anything more
Friendly staff. Clean seats. Good size large popcorn and fantastic music!! I walked in and they were playing Joe Thomas. I felt I was home! Lol
Uncomfortable due to the heat screen room. Apparently, air con was on but a small unit. They did offer free ice water to those who asked...
Great place, employees are amazing, especially Ollie, who was tremendous any time we needed him to make sure we were well taken care of
Great cinemas as you’d expect from the odeon My only criticism is lack of free parking in the area so public transport is recommended
The IMAX screen is a decent size, but the sound system is not tuned well. It’s a bit of an auditory assault. The carpets are sticky.
This is a cinema, it's much the same as other cinemas. If you like movies and are in Wimbeldon you should think about coming here.
It's just about ok, the sound quality was a bit poor and the premium seats are not very comfortable. For £16 it's not worth it
Looks terrible from the outside, better on the inside. Imax screen pretty good but very loud! Staff always helpful & friendly.
Great cinema with bigger seats and a massive screen. Watched avatar there. A little cold inside but other than that it's good.
Needs refurbishment. Screen 3 ... dirty seats. Run down. For an odeon and considering the area .. this met me with surprise.
Our local limitless cinema. Most of the time the toilets are clean and screens are of good size and comfort. Food is good
Is ok. Place can get cold at times and it’s not always clean. Lots of screens means you get a good variety though.
Oliver was amazing trying to help with my codes ! And then his manager came to help Big cinema nice space …
Staff so helpful and I found the cinema very clean.... no other people's popcorn on my chair is always a bonus
Cinema was dirty, no one cleaned from previous film. Food was bad. But the staff at the till were nice.
Solid experience, good staff, okay food, lack of syrup in the post mix soda drinks though, not strong.
Watched Oppenheimer at the IMAX screen no. 4. Was an alright experience. Nothing out of the ordinary.
It was alright. Movie was a good experience, though I should comment the workers were abit lifeless.
Enjoyed the film. How ever I felt the seats could be updated. Also the row letter was hard to see
IMAX visuals were superb but Oppenheimer audio was unnecessarily and at times uncomfortably loud
Uncomfortably hot in the viewing rooms, floors were sticky. Average cinema experience otherwise.
