My mum noticed this cute little shop shortly after it opened. One day, I needed a bunch of flowers for my aunt and so we popped in for the first time. And because of the sweet and accommodating people who always custom make arrangements for our specific needs at a really reasonable price, we keep coming back. On the public holiday on 16 December, my friend was getting married. Because of the lockdown, she needed to keep her wedding very small. It touched me deeply that she invited me. I wanted to get her a gift to let her know how much I appreciated her gesture and nothing seemed as fitting in my mind as a bunch of flowers. Admittedly, I wasn't sure it would be appropriate for a guy friend to give flowers to the bride. Because of my indecision, I delayed ordering the flowers until the morning of the wedding when her mum replied to my question. I placed the order just two hours before the ceremony on a public holiday. And when I called, the florist was willing to assist me. The bride's mum let me know that the colour scheme was rose gold and pink. I honestly had no idea what rose gold looked like, but mentioned it somewhere in my conversation with the florist. As per the advice of the bride's mum, I asked the florist to please prepare a bunch of white and pink. When I arrived at 10:30am to collect the flowers, it became clear that she'd listened carefully to what I said, even though I wasn't very sure about what I wanted. She showed me how many different shades of pink are available. And she designed the bunch with rose gold in the centre so that the colour would pop. When someone listens that intently and puts this much thought into what they do, that's when you know how much they care. But, that's not all she did for me. She showed me how to carry the flowers to best expose their beauty. She also took them to the car for me and put them in the bucket I brought along. She looked at the water level in the bucket and went to collect some extra water for me to make sure that the flowers don't wilt in the heat of the car. If only I could describe the look in my friend's eyes when I handed the flowers to her... Thank you for all you did.
