Worst customer service experience of my life. I ordered 2 sofas from Oak Furnitureland in June and it was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I live in a third floor flat (3 flights up) and there's no lift. I made this very clear at the shop before ordering, and the sales assistant said I should order a modular sofa, so I did, and pay extra for flexible delivery, so I did, and even then they said that I should be prepared to lift the sofa up the last flight of stairs myself, because the drivers only have to carry up 2 flights of stairs. I said that's fine. 3 months later, when the sofas finally arrived, the deliverymen came inside and refused to carry the boxes up any stairs. I said we were told they were supposed to carry it up 2 flights and leave us to do the rest, they refused. I asked them to just leave the boxes on the ground floor, and I'll carry it the whole way, they refused. The drivers called head office, who said they either have to take the boxes into my flat, or not deliver them at all, despite me saying I'm more than happy to carry them myself. So they put the boxes back in the van and drove off without delivering the items we ordered and paid for 3 months prior. I called head office right away, and all they could offer me was an attempted redelivery 2 weeks later. When I asked if they could at least guarantee that the next deliverymen will actually let us have the items we paid for, they said no, it's up to the drivers. The next 2 weeks involved countless phone calls to head office to try to get them to contact the depot to explain our situation and to send drivers who will actually deliver our items. However, everyone at HO just told us that they'll contact the depot and get back to us, but they never would. Eventually, at the redelivery 2 weeks later (now nearly 4 months after ordering), the deliverymen did deliver our sofas to the second floor, and we carried them the rest of the way. Was that so hard? Why could we not have done that the first time? The drivers also informed us that no one had contacted them before hand, despite us being assured by HO multiple times that the depot had been contacted. Truly awful customer service. Avoid.

Free and easy parking available at the front of the store. Hand sanitiser readily available at the entrance of the store. Then it goes downhill...... 2 of the 3 salesmen on the shop floor ignored us completely and the one that did come over to talk to us had an a high handed and arrogant attitude. Everything was No. Whatever question we asked it was a definite No before we had even finished asking the question. I wanted to compare 2 sofas. They only had one model out on display. Similar models but with a couple of distinctive differences. I asked for the model they didn’t have on display to be pulled up on the computer with the other model in another window on the screen. Apparently oak furniture land DONT have windows computers and why didn’t I know this already? I was a bit embarrassed and there was a small awkward silence. I knew more about both sofa models than he did, as I had done some homework! This didn’t go down well either. We walked out after being subjected to a long lecture on the mechanics of shipping items by sea from China and how that impacted on delivery times. How we have reached this stage of life without this knowledge we cannot Imagine. The explanation went on and on and on..... We walked out because we were then patronised. With a long lecture on furniture protection insurance. Despite us politely declining this offer at the outset. The salesman was not to be interrupted. He continued. Without even acknowledging we had spoken words into the air. He attempted to force us to accept fixed, rigid sales conditions. With yet another lecture, this time about the meeting he had had with the store manager today and how that impacted on Store sales. Absolute rubbish. It was his way or no way. We were not spending our hard earned and hard saved money by being dictated to like that. Sorry not sorry. Oak Furniture Land. Your TV adverts are fabulous. Your Purley Way branch is not Fabulous. Not at all. You lost our sale. In these uncertain times. You really want to treat your customers like this? Thanks but no thanks. We have taken out business elsewhere. Good luck keeping going as a retailer. You’re not for us.

I will never use oak furniture land again. Their customer service from start to finish has been a disgrace. From arrogant sales reps in the Hove showroom, very rude and unhelpful delivery teams (both times) the first, the delivery driver got angry on the phone with me because his sat nav couldn’t find our post code, then walked through our new house across our new carpet in his dirty trainers. The second team told my wife “this is above my pay grade” when she answered HIS question about why the furniture was being returned. We ordered 3 items, two of which were damaged, one of them terribly so, it looked like it had been dropped from at least 5 foot off the ground it was so badly cracked and broken and so, took the decision to return the small third item as we just couldn’t trust OFL to send us the furniture again without another ton of hassle. After calling to arrange collection, they made me unpack everything to take a photo of the white label hidden on the underside, then told me I could dispose of the packaging, two of the boxes were the size of a desk. Then they advised that there would be a £25 charge to collect the undamaged item. Even though they were coming to collect the damaged items and I told them of how disappointed we were with the service so far, they still wouldn’t remove the charge. They guy on the phone, clearly having to restrain himself from telling me where to stick my complaint, just said, “well there is a my of work involved in getting an item back, sending it to Swindon and repacking etc” If they had removed this charge I would have just left it and put it down to a bad experience but due to their attitude I wanted to share my experience so hopefully others will avoid the disappointment.

Pushy salesman from word go. We were informed of finance deals available which we declined as we wanted to pay in full when we ordered. Spent a lengthy time choosing furniture for bedroom, kitchen, lounge spending 2k plus. Came to process order and salesman had added extra cost, furniture cover for 5 years. We declined and asked for it to be removed, which he did but not without persistently pressurising us. He then said he had to fetch another member of staff (who happened to be the manageress) as he could not complete the transaction. Again we were pressurised to get the extra cover. She was with us for 2 mins and then said she had to go and serve someone else after taking a few details. Enter third member of staff and first salesman. We now have two members of staff telling us it would be better if we paid once the furniture was delivered. We said we didnt want finance and we were told it was not finance and that we could pay in full when delivery was made and we were happy. We agreed and were then bombarded with question after question. When we asked what were all the questions for we were told "for the credit check". We had not even been asked if we would agree to a credit check. We then told them to cancel the order and walked out of the store. For the record the furniture was for a family member being paid from a trust account. Why would I want a credit check under those circumstances!!! My sister and I were completely disgusted with the service we received. We went the NEXT and ordered furniture from there with great service and done and dusted in 5 mins for for ordering and payment. Whilst shopping in other shop had call from Manageress asking us to come back and have a cup of tea. Yeah sure!!!!!

I had an absolutely brilliant experience recently. We took about 2-3 hours in our first visit selecting our furnitures and the salesperson (Sab) was absolutely happy to leave us on our own as we walked around and spent time explaining details whenever we needed him. He explained the pros & cons on every decision I wanted his opinion. I had to visit them again as I changed my mind and there was no question asked. When I called them to inquire all they said was - come over and we'll sort it out. I didn't turn up that evening however Sab called to remind me about the store close timing and offered to come early the next day to help. Sab did need his manager (Theresa) a few times on to approve some of the changes (assuming obviously she needs to review exceptions) but she was more than glad to pop up whenever needed. I wanted to split my order and change delivery dates 2 weeks after I made my original order and both Sab and Theresa were happy to help me with that request without any questions. Additionally, Theresa even helped to fetch a quicker delivery date. Thank you both, pleased with your help!

Think twice before you decide to buy anything from Oak FurnitureLand unless you are fine with having to very likely wait for at least another 2-3 months on top of the initial 3-month delivery. They have missed my sofa's delivery 2 twice. They definitely have some issue with supply chain. I ordered the sofa in mid April and now (nearly 4 months after that), they have missed the delivery twice and told me to wait for another 1.5 month. And they are not quite sure whether I will have the sofa in 1.5 month. It's likely I will have to keep waiting. I've talked to their customer service a lot and I can sense that they have problems with their suppliers. They needed to resend my order to their sofa supplier recently. This is aligned with other customers' reviews on Google Maps for all Oak FurnitureLand stores. They don't provide enough status of the sofa such why it's delayed, whether the sofa has been made, etc. The customer service is just worthless.

Never making the mistake of ordering at Oak furniture land. The delivery has been postponed 3 times and now it has been 4 months already and they have given us a new time slot 2 weeks later saying the delivery people are too tired to deliver today (wow!). How about deliver it tomorrow then? Aren't we priority customers than the ones scheduled for tomorrow or day after? Guess they believe in "we'd rather upset one customer than many others". Why lose many when we can lose just one customer right? Okay how about some compensation then? No they have no policy for compensation. Please pray we get the delivery soon because we are living in our house with just a mattress! I wonder if they'll pay for physiotherapy bills because my back is completely broken!! All the best to anyone who orders furniture at Oak furniture land. Honestly, not worth it!

Good quality items but bad customer service when making the purchase. They didn't explain the terms of the finance agreement and that the interest is already calculated into the monthly repayments so it wasn't clear until I signed the agreement and received the email explaining. Disgusting that the costs are hidden, especially for some people who may not be able to afford it, it should be much clearer and explained well before agreeing to the finance. Also, emailing agreement afterwards is shady, underhand practise because you cannot see the costs until afterwards - PLUS they only give you two working days after receiving the contract to pay in cash in the store. Okay experience but this problem ruined it for us so one star!

Sales Sales Sales - The moment you step into the store you are locked by one of the sales representative. He clearly states that if you have any question ask ONLY him. If any other staff approaches then decline and ask for this specific Sales person. Seriously, do you want to show your internal staff commission business to Customers?! Just like most shops the price listed on table shoots by few hundreds when you pick what you want. The display set-up and price on dining tables doesn't match leaving you with a frown face when they work out the price of what you want. Oh I gave TWO stars for this review towards the real hard wood and collection of items.

Lovely quality furniture, shop smelt fabulous! Whole visit was spoilt by completely over the top stalker-like staff - ambushed my son who popped in (saving his wobbly grandparents) to see if there were suitable items worth my elderly and mobility impaired parents to view, then dogged our slow footsteps as we wanted to try to look at and discuss (without an audience) bed options for my Dad - a proud man who does not need his difficulties in life shared with complete strangers. Would not take any hint to give us some space. 5 star furniture (based on viewing only) 0 star service. Will never, ever go back and definitely did not buy anything.

Terrible terrible experience! I ordered a recliner sofa, bed sets, tv unit and a display cabinet in July 2022. The order was supposed to arrive in Sept and it has been delayed 4 times already now. It has been 5 months now. Still not in sight. the TV unit is said to be broken. I have no bedroom furniture nor a sofa in the living room! Ridiculous customer service. The delivery people are delaying the order as per their choice because they are underpaid and the sales people have no option but to sit and wait if it will ever get delivered. Very disappointed. Big promises but zero deliveries. Never going to step into that place ever.

Excellent service and lots of choice. I took my elderly, disabled parents to purchase some dining chairs. Salesperson Dean Dalton was absolutely fantastic and very patient. We placed the order, which arrived as arranged. However the delivery men declined to assemble the chairs for my disabled and arthritic parents, which we had asked as a special request. Dean contacted the head office, and they apologised for the mistake, and very kindly arranged a refund of £40. I am so impressed with such wonderful and dedicated customer service. I will be recommending the Croydon store and Dean to everyone. Thank you.

Visited the Croydon store on Sunday just browsing for a dining table. Theresa was very helpful and informative, giving us the space we needed to browse and being helpful when we wanted. No one was pushy, and the team worked well together. Theresa was patient with all our queries (and our 3 visits in 1 day!) and helped us put through our order smoothly and even though we were there at 5pm at closing time, there was no feeling of us being rushed through. Great products and great service - cannot wait for delivery!

I had this absurd experiences from the OFL delivery team!! The furniture came with the big box, which attempted to take inside. Clearly this box wont' go inside the property. While they taking this back it wasn't passing my main gate and broken my main gate. Also, the team was speaking on the phone found very unhelpful. Eventually I found them giving misleading information, speaking lie. OFL - need to look at this sort of poor management of delivery. all - please think carefully before make any order.

First time in my life I gave bad review to a business. The furniture it self is good. But the delivery is just horrible as they refuse to take any of the large parts upstairs. Customer service not working during weekends but the line is still active. Wasted 1 hour in the queue. I ended up asked my neighbour helped me move the furniture upstairs. Absolutely more reliable than the delivery guy. Think carefully before purchase if you wanna put them upstairs. They are mostly a whole big inseparable part.

The delivery was over two months late, it then wasn’t delivered within the time slot allocated, and no phone call an hour before so had to take another day off for the delivery a week later. When it was delivered the chair was broken. The delivery man did tell me about it and advised me to call customer services. Every-time I call I’m at least 20 on the waiting list. I love this furniture store - however they are let down by their after sales service. Left arm never knows what the right arm is doing & we still have not received our after sales policies 1 year after our purchase ! Dissapointed! Update: We took out the Furniture Guard policy which cost us around £200. A chair broke and they gave us the run around for 6 months. In the end we paid for the repair from our own pockets ! Not woth the paper it's written on so feel like we were conned.

They have a great selection of hard wood furniture which does appear to be very well constructed. However the staff hound you as you walk in. They will not leave you alone even when you state that you will let them know if you need help. This creates an impression that they don't get paid unless they reach their specified target and in turn creates a tense atmosphere for the customer which leaves a bad taste. I will be shopping from Oak Furniture Land online from now on.

Excellent experience, great and very professional staff. Spent half a day there to select the furniture for new move. Good thing is that they pay the price difference. I bought furniture on sale. They promised that they would refund the money if the prices go down by the time it get delivered to us. Found out that prices actually dropped in summer sale, with a quick call to customer services they refunded me back almost £300

Assistant advised that Croydon store didn't have it, then came back with the response that his manager said it was only available online, this is not the case. He did try and call another store to see if they had it in the showroom, strange if his previous comnent had been true! Left to try and find elsewhere, won't be going back to this particular store.

He made a number of very helpful suggestions and recommendations without applying pressure. Made a purchase and were quickly notified of an early delivery date by text message. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. It's the 4th time they postponed the bed delivery we bought 3 beds and delivered 2 after a few delays and now for 3rd bed we are waiting since August'22. Then Dec 22 then 3red Jan (Today) and now they are saying for 13th January. Once sold they don't give a **** about customers. Never recommended. Stay safe everyone and buy at your own risk.

Over the last few years I've done my whole bedroom with the Detroit range and my entire living room with the Brooklyn range. The Brooklyn range is fantastic, quality, well built, looks good. The Detroit range LOOKS great, but is pretty cheap in terms of build quality. But overall, I'm really happy (other than their shocking delivery staff) with everything and delivery times were fine too.

Very disappointed. Waited weeks for furniture to be delivered (which is understandable of course), only to find the wardrobes we had ordered would not fit up the stairs, therefore had to be sent back. No warning online or from the salesmen in the store about measuring in advance, so had assumed these came disassembeled- now have to wait an additional 12 weeks without bedroom furniture.

Was dealing with Moshin from the Croydon store during the purchase of our new furniture for our first home, he knew all about our needs right away and got to work in getting us the best deal and making the entire process easy would highly recommend Moshin and the croydon store for peace of mind when buying your furniture! Visited the Croydon store today to purchase dining suite & sofa/chairs. We were looked after very thoroughly by Sab who also provided much needed coffee whilst browsing the showroom. We went for the no deposit reserve while you measure scheme. Was surprised that they wanted so much detail, only to find out that we had brought the furniture on 4 years credit. After complaint they put it right bur we now have a credit arrangement on our credit score. Not best practice

Staff are good but work mostly on commission. The goods are made in China and wood sourced at the cheapest location at the time of production. In essence don't complain for the people making a living this way. Buy cheaper, but not oak, elsewhere or pay the going rate; 50% upward! X

Sad thing you have to wait to long for delivery and one salesman in particular has no manners or patience with the customer will cause a loss in sales due to his ignorance i.e. The tallest one customer service is not for him. Oakland Will always have quality furniture.

In love with the bed that we ordered from oakland furniture. Solid oak king size bed frame and have 5 year garentee. Got a deal for buying the bed and mattress at the same time. And offered free delivery. Lovely staff and also lovely delivery guys. Very helpful

Don’t order from Oak Furnitureland. My sofa has taken over 8 months and still no delivery in sight. If you want a sofa you can actually use, order elsewhere.
