Dear Owner I am writing to share my recent dining experience (12th August 7:45pm) at your esteemed restaurant, as I believe your commitment to excellence deserves honest feedback. I wish to express my profound dissatisfaction with the dining experience my family and I recently endured at your restaurant. While the prospect of spending quality time with loved ones held promise, the reality that unfolded left an indelible mark of disappointment. Foremost, I must address an issue of utmost importance – the handling of customer service. It is with a deep sense of disbelief that I recount the events of our evening. Approximately an hour into our two-hour reservation, we were surprised to be informed that the kitchen was preparing to close, and we were requested to place our final order. Considering our remaining allocated time and the fact that we were still enjoying our meal, this situation felt untimely and somewhat inappropriate. When I requested a moment to peruse the menu and make an informed decision, the encounter with your manager proved to be less than favorable. The interaction was characterized by an unfortunate lack of courtesy and assistance, leaving me with a sense of unease and undue haste. I wish to take a moment to highlight the positive contributions of Alex, whose exceptional qualities as an employee could potentially make him a fitting candidate for managerial responsibilities. Equally disheartening was the disappointing quality of the cuisine presented. It is with a heavy heart that I recount the lackluster flavors that permeated many of the dishes we ordered. The chicken karaage, once a source of culinary delight, was but a shadow of its former self, plagued by an absence of taste. The glaring omission of the chawanmushi, an eagerly anticipated delicacy, only further compounded the overall dissatisfaction we experienced. This correspondence is not intended as an arbitrary complaint, but rather as an impassioned plea for immediate and earnest attention to the grievances outlined above. The gravity of the situation demands nothing less than a thorough and thoughtful investigation into the matters at hand. I implore you to reflect upon the implications of these incidents on the reputation of your establishment and the perception of your patrons. In conclusion, I extend my gratitude for affording me the platform to voice my concerns. I await your decisive action in rectifying these regrettable circumstances and restoring the faith I once held in the excellence of your establishment. Yours sincerely, Eddie

This place has a very confusing business model. No instruction or direction given upon entry, as to how the ordering system works. No prices on any of the menu items. But apparently it’s some kind of ‘all you can eat’ situation? I’m still not sure, & we’ve just left the restaurant. As we had never eaten here, we were seated at our table, ordered dishes, ate them, then had no idea what to do. Would the server return with a bill? Apparently not. So after some time waiting, we decided to exit back to the unattended reception area, where we waited some more. After someone finally showed up, I made comment that it was odd none of the menu items included any pricing? She only replied that ‘it’s here’ or something… but gestured nowhere. The receipt gave no insight either. Just a total at the bottom. Had we been charged per head? Had the server returned, could we have ordered more items for that same total? We’ll never know.

I’ve been to 2 other Okami Restaurants in Melbourne and this is by far the best one. The place is a lot nicer and cleaner, and the restaurant itself has more Japanese vibes to it than the other restaurants. I recommend booking prior to your arrival. Food is excellent. A lot of choices in the Menu, not much vegetarian choices though. Serving is good, not too much as it will make you easily full. Drinks are cheap except for the Japanese alcohol. Several parking available within Craigieburn Junction.

Shocking customer service, multiple staff behind the counter talking to one another and not bothering about serving customers. We have time slots and get kicked out after an hour and a half yet no one bothers to help you make the most of that time by asking if we would like to order more food. You're waiting at least 20 minutes between small dishes coming out or they just don't bring it out at all. The food is below average, meat comes out barely warm, staff walk past and ignore you, don't even look up to see if you're waving them down. Not to mention they either don't take your dirty plates OR they take them and put dirty plates on a tray with food to be delivered to other tables. Incredibly unhygienic. Shocking experience, I do not recommend coming here if you want a decent Japanese experience. Pick up your game.

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Okami Craigieburn. The food came out late. Fried stuff was cold (lukewarm at best) and soggy, steak felt and tasted like it had been sitting for a while, the spring rolls were over cooked aswell as all chicken dishes. I expressed my dislike for the food and service and was told they were short staffed (which I completely get have worked in hospitality before and it sucks being short staffed) but the food shouldn't be a different quality no matter how many people are on also the condescending tone and way I was told they were short staffed with barely an apology was not acceptable. Made it sound like it was our fault for comming in on a day they were short staffed.

Not a place I would take my family to again. The server tipped a tray of food on my son with no apology, no cleanup. I had to call someone over to clean up the mess. All you can eat? I don’t think so! You can order anything on the menu but only 2 at a time so we received 1 fried rice and 1 chicken karage (it only has 6 pieces on it) and for 6 people we were constantly waiting for food to come out. We paid almost $40 to get full on fried rice because the wait for food was ridiculous. Before you ask, no the restaurant was not busy. Best thing about the the visit was the jug of lemon lime and bitters.

Originally used to love the Okami in Craigieburn, but in recent times it has been dropping off a fair bit. Last Thursday though was not a wonderful experience. We were sat in the corner (which is fine), the issue is for an "All you can eat" we only had a waiter serve us twice, despite on multiple occasions trying to signal someone over. Because of this, we were unable to order enough for the two of us, and even after we ordered food the second time it took nearly 30 minutes for the food to arrive and they needed to start clearing tables for the next lot of people arriving. In the past we have had some exceptional experiences, but think the Craigieburn chain may be struggle for staff currently

  • George Slavchev

I’ve been wanting to try Okami for months as I often see posts about it on TikTok. Reading online, it seems rather unanimous that the Craigieburn one is the best, so we decided to book a table there (it’s almost impossible to get a table without a booking). I have to say, I was very impressed with the value for money this place offers — at $36.80 per person, you just can’t go wrong! I was expecting average quality food, however, absolutely every single dish we had was great! My personal favourites were the Beef Carpaccio and the Potato Croquettes — I just couldn’t have enough of them. The service was decent, even though they were very busy. Absolutely definitely going back!!

  • E B

$40 for all you can eat is not cheap or expensive. I guess when you load up on the Angus beef you get your money worth . Freshly made everything!!! Tried almost everything on the menu and can't complaint.

Service started off good then it seemed to go bad after 30 minutes food that we ordered took 30 minutes after reminding them like 4 times and still never came out drink did not come after 2 time’s ordering it . Bottled Water never topped up which was a very disappointing service and on top of all that was a Friday night and it actually was not even that busy . Over all use to be a great restaurant to eat at I won’t be in a hurry to go back . Craigieburn Okami need to get more staff so services can be a more pleasant outcome

i like okami. japanese being my favourite cuisine and the idea of a buffet is great. i have been to other okami and they are great but the fact we booked a month in advanced for a big group and they refused to put us on the same table was a bit of a joke. it wasn’t like the booking was last minute, they should’ve been more prepared so we could be on the same table. we were celebrating someone’s birthday and had to be in two seperate groups. also didn’t accomodate for peanut allergies, literally one of the most common allergies. hope you guys can be better prepared next time :/

  • Angry 3acon

Food is good. But if you want to go to an all you can eat, then this is defiently not it. Constantly waiting for food. About 30-90minutes for a dish even though the waiters were asked about 4 times, in the end we didnt get all the dishes we requested because they were closing down and we remained hungry. Good food and environement. But extrememly poor service. Also, dont use the excuse of not having enough staff, because you can go ahead and reduce the amount of customers you accept.

I had tried Okami a few times and I loved that. For my partner's birthiday, we could only get Okami Craigieburn giving us a table, so my first time trying Okami there. No complains about the food, but the service at Craigieburn Okami was far lower than what I saw in Epping. It was all you can eat, but no one appeared often to get customers' orders. Not sure if that day was a once off day or they do that all the time. Anyway, it was not a good all you can eat experience and preferably I will avoid going to Okami Craigieburn.

  • Valentina

If I could give a zero star I would, absolutely disgusting service. Waited so long for food and drinks while it was dead. As a waitress I understand it takes time to prepare but we waited and kept asking and 40 minutes later still nothing…. Waiter gave me so much attitude and smart Alec responses. We literally had to leave without the rest of our food due to it never arriving.. Would rather go to Epping and get better customer service

Cant speak highly enough of this newly opened Japanese Restaurant! Went recently with large family group.Food was amazing, freshly made, beautifully presented and tasted delicious! We tried almost everything on the menu and were very pleased with it all. Staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. Prices are very fair $34 for Adults and $18 kids under 12 -for 3hr sitting all you can eat banquet menu. Will definately be back!

Dined in for a two hour sitting. Waited an hour for our first lot of food apart from the rice and veggies. They missed half of what we ordered to the point I left hungry (which shouldn't happen at all all you can eat), and cancelled certain items that never arrived because it was time to leave. Very disappointed, wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Great experience overall. Highly recommended & will definitely come back. Domo arigato guzaimasu.

If you are looking for a place that is an authentic Japanese restaurant in Australia I would suggest to eat here. The food here is as authentic as it can get and for a place that is an all you can eat, you can try everything and then decided yourself what is for you and what isn't. My favorite there is the Chicken Katsu.

Amazing katsudon. We ordered online for pickup. Clean store. Amazing customer service. We were greeted with a smile and and our food came promptly. Read through the other reviews to see if we were the only ones who were deliberately not served food in the ‘all you can eat’. It appears we aren’t. How expensive is a veggie sushi roll anyway?… they really didn’t want us to have it though asked 4 times in one hour. And waiters were just standing around gossiping… disappointing …

  • Dimitri Christou

This place ticks all the boxes. We dined in and had all you can eat. The quality of the food and service is excellent. The flavours were crisp and clean, and the service was always friendly and attentive. At around $35 it's excellent value. There's something on menu for almost anyone to enjoy. I'll definitely be going back!

Had the best all you can eat! Well done guys, few mixed up in the end as we didn't get to try the beef although we ordered it twice, but will give it another try! Great value for money

Been highly recommened by fakily to try here and so glad we did. Worth the $$$. Everything is served in perfect portion. Food is fresh. The service of staff was excellent and were very friendly to stop and chat, very welcoming. Best

The 3 times ive eaten in at okami it has been very good, however when it comes to take away options like uber eats the quality and quantity drop very quickly.

Beef carpaccio has to be my favorite! But my daughter love her sushi Nigiri plater... I normally don't like all you can eat restaurant, but this one is pretty good & plenty of car park. Big thumbs up...

Okami in general is a great concept, and the Craigieburn location certainly lived up to the consistency. Great service, and as expected, food on point ☺️

There is a wide range if food available here and they are all so tasty. Although I'm not a seafood person, I really enjoyed the food here.

All you can Japanese. Great value for money and at the time off writing the only Japanese restaurant in craigieburn. Amazing service and ambience. Cheap eat for the whole family.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Okami. Despite having made a booking in advance, my party and I were made to wait in a long line outside the restaurant.

Okami is my go to place for dinner. Just under $40 for all you can eat Japanese, with a wide selection. Food is always fresh and tasty. More

All you can eat but you have to order. The problem here is that a number of times our order did not arrive, so we had to reorder.
