A stunning Victorian Tudor style building with additional Victorian Free Gothic architecture, built between 1859 and 1862. This Heritage listed wing is part of the Sydney Supreme Court House and owns by the State Government's Department of Justice and Attorney General. This is a very impressive building, and if you're looking from Elizabeth Street you'll get a sense of the magnificent beauty of this Victorian Tudor building. It was designated a State Heritage building in April 1999, one of some spectacularly historic buildings listed that year. The smooth dressed sandstone blocks and slate hipped and garbled roof really make this a very imposing building. Even the fence with its iron palisades on stone plinth (support) are spectacular! Another important contribution to the very rich history of this gorgeous city of Sydney. Absolutely worth exploring for all ages and backgrounds.
