I wanted to love this place, after reading the reviews. But, I felt that this was a park which catered to seasonal residents and that those of us "passing through" were only tolerated. The RV sites would have been completely muddy if we had significant rain; fortunately it stayed mostly dry. Unfortunately, we had a problem with our water heater and had to rely on the showers provided by the park. We have travelled a fair bit over the last two years and have stayed in parks ranging basic to luxurious. The one constant was that shower areas were clean, even if a bit worn. Olympia has showers only at poolside, with toilets, sinks, etc. I don't recall seeing anything this depressing anywhere, anytime. Doors all open to the elements, leaves and debris blown in. Three colours of chipped, worn paint on the floor, bare concrete underneath. Plywood doors on the toilet stalls, everything looked grungy and depressing. I was so angry with myself that I'd forgotten to bring a pair of flip-flops with me. I have to say that I really appreciated the blue bins scattered around the site; makes it so much easier to keep to our regular recycling habits. And it was nice to see picnic tables and firepits, one of the perks of rural sites. Not sure what to say about staff, we shared our concern about the shower/washrooms with staff, who responded that "our bathroom guy is kind of hit and miss" and that our comment would be passed on. However, when we left, the owner's contact info was provided, and we were directed to share our opinions with him. All in all, I have to say that I would not return to this park. One visit was enough for me.

We did not stay here, but tried to. They were not very helpful. First and second attempt to make reservations were unsuccessful. We called several times and each time there was never an answer. We left messages and nothing. Decided to email them and FINALLY received a call back. Informed them that we would like to stay 4 nights, but would arrive around 8pm. Was informed they would be closed and we would not he able to check in late. Very disappointing!! If this is any indication on how they "value" their customers I'm glad we didn't stay. On a side note we were lucky they wouldn't let us check in, because we found Pine Valley Park not too far from them. So glad we did!! Pine Valley management and campground was great! They allowed us to check in even though their office was closed. So glad it worked out the way it did. Learn from Pine Valley. Olympia Village get it together!

We spoke to a gentleman on the phone to come see the park for some seasonal camping. We told him we would be there on the Sunday to take a look. When we arrived, the sign on the office door said Open. We walked in but nobody was in there. We knocked on the ajoining door that lead into their home and a women answered. We said we wanted to take a look around. She seemed quite put off that we were there, but said we could look around but we weren't allowed to drive our car through. When we asked her for a map of the park, she huffed and puffed and went into the desk to get a map. Then she snapped and asked us if there was anything else we wanted because her brunch was getting cold. We felt unwelcomed and we were very disappointed. Even if the park were a 5 star facility, the way we felt that day made us decide we will never come back to this park.

I stayed at Olympia Village twice so far this year and plan to end the season with them. It's hard to judge a campground during a pandemic because you have to take into account the fact that most amenities had to be shut down (pool, playground, store, etc.). So, the park itself is nicely laid out in a very rural setting. Surrounded by mostly farm land, there is, a spring-fed pond (with fountain) has a backdrop of mature trees. Paul, one of the owners, is easy to talk to and quite accommodating. I'm a transient camper who likes the ease of the pullthru sites and full service camping. If you need a quiet getaway that's close to everything but feels as if it's in a world of it's own., Olympia Village will suit you just fine.

We have been weekenders since 2016 camping long weekends and a week in the summer. We are planning on becoming seasonal in 2021 when my husband is retired. The reason we have made this decision is because The management of the park, Paul and family have been good to us and we have the best neighbors because we take the same site every year Peter and Fran. Lots of activities and entertainment if you choose to partake, nice kept pool always clean. Looking forward to spending our retirement years in the park. We hope to leave our trailer there at the end of this season so we can start our seasonal in May 2021. I enjoyed my work from trailer days on fridays when they got wifi a few years ago.

If I could take the one-star rating away from this place I would they have no respect for your family or anyone that is sick like my wife with no kidney failure the front staff at the office well overall I was just disgusted to talk with her disgusted to be in her present harassed by her on our campsite she was rude to my wife rude to my father her husband well let's just say stay away from this place do not go there and most of all their pools sucks they have no activities during the week and they have minimal activities on the weekend nothing they have said in their website that is actually not even up to date goes on there again I urge All Families any families stay away from this place at all costs

I am adding these comments after a nice call from Paul who wanted to know why I gave such a low rating (originally a 2). I appreciate the call very much. As I said to him, we we're looking for an overnight site, and have learned to expect from Good Sam parks that we could expect decent washrooms and showers... And there were not. There is a single shower by the pool and a washroom that needed serious tlc. Both can be a hike from some rv sites. The site itself was fine (electric, water and sewer) which was why we did not rank it lower. Paul's service was good and I loved that he took the time to call - earning one extra point.

Great Family Place. I was not able to get up to the park in the last couple of years and got a chance to go this week, I was amazed how much the park has improved as the new pool facility is a five-star in its own and the campground was immaculately clean. I felt like I was part of a community right away as I have young children and I watched campers come out of their sitrs and stop vehicles that were going too fast along the roads to ensure the safety of the children. I fully suggest anyone that is looking for a getaway that they should try this place. Poolside in the day Campfires at night doesn't get any better!

Laundry and shower facilities seem like an afterthought for such a large park. Only one shower in each of the 2 washrooms. Pricey on site Laundry facility. Laundry room is actually a utility closet with 2 washers & dryers, only one of which was operational. No signage on interior roads. Large clean pool and lots of well attended activities for seasonal campers. Very quiet in a rural area within easy driving distance to nearby towns for shopping and restaurants.

We were just passing through for a few nights. It's very much a seasonal place, not a lot of thought given to the non-seasonal sites. The grass is very high in those sites, we all got eaten alive by mosquitoes. It rained during our stay, so it got very muddy. All of that being said, the owners are friendly and accommodating. This is probably a great place for people who want to stay a while.

I was seasonal for two years and it was a horrible experience. The management are very rude and they make promises that they don't keep. That is how they suckered me into coming there. If you don't put up with their rudeness and condescending attitude and call them out on it they kick you out.The management needs to retire and let someone who cares run the place. Whatever happened to curteous customer service? You will not get that here.

  • Rosemary Muckenheim

Very quiet and relaxing just what I needed away from home. It has everything the pool and entertainment ...but though the public washroom definitely needs TLC. I'm just a visitor from Hamilton and I had been coming in few weekends enjoyed my time there. Although I wish I could afford a trailer someday. And yes of course I would recommend your campground to my friends. See you again next summer.

  • Paul

Very accommodating. We came for a weekend to trade our trailer a much bigger fifth wheel. Paul had no problem accommodating our size change, by putting us in the large pull through sites he had. We first visited at the end of September, and now, a week later, we are going back. Great place, especially if you have family to visit in the Hamilton area, which we do. We're from Ottawa.

Lovely, quiet, spacious and well maintained location. 1 hour between both Toronto and Niagara. Amazing facilities! Pool (with lifeguard!), large kids park, even a recreational schedule with things like horseshoe tournaments and euchre. We wish we could have stayed longer (3 nights was not enough) but we are so glad we ended our camping trip at this beautiful park.

  • Julie Rosenthal

My husband and I were here for a month in June and liked it so much, we came back for September. Management is very friendly and accommodating. The pool is well kept and clean. I would give it a 5 if they had a public shower (one at pool doesn't qualify) We are in an RV so don't really need it, but we like to use them sometimes for a change. Otherwise, all great!!!!!!

  • Deb Pat Burk

This is a very convenient camping area convenient to Toronto. Office personnel we're very knowledgeable of the area and provided us with valuable information. We were able to conveniently access the Lion Safari, gas station and stores from here. Park was clean and peaceful, people were friendly and it was a good stopping place as we explored the area.

  • kevin corbett

This place is crap 1 shower for the whole park. Used by the swimmers also and cold all the time. All ways complaining about your speed in the park yet doing 5 km under speed limit. I would not recommend this place to anyone the worst place I have ever stayed. Ran by the seasonal folks and they don't like outsiders.

  • Barbara Engelmann

This campground seems to have a majority of full time residents. Some of the trailers/mobil homes looked unoccupied and unmaintained. I would make sure you investigate all options, prior to booking at the location.

Senior minded campground. I may return in 50 years when i'm older. Lot of activities for older People. My experience with the owner was that he wasn't very friendly. Can Be coincidence. Stayed here for one night while travelling trough.

a quiet Park. Huge swimming pool for the kids. The area for those staying for the season was very nice. The occasional guests like us were at the bottom of the hill. But we appreciated the full hookups.

  • CrazzyOntarian

I've stayed in a lot of campgrounds, and this is a great one... very friendly with lots of activities for the kids, a properly supervised pool (unlike most campgrounds), and a great playground

  • Aka Gambit

Stay away from here if you can, the people who live here are kind and helpful but the owner can make you pull your hair out in anger.

Nothing like the website or pictures shown. All sites are overgrown, small, narrow roads for a large rig. Plus side-sites are quite large (double lots) and the staff are VERY polite.

  • Josh Inman

We are not impressed. There is one washroom with one shower for the entire campground. The campsites have not been maintained, the grass hasn’t been cut. We will not be coming back.

  • Cassiopeia Kenner

A nice quiet park. Close to the city and christies conservation area - outdoor pool is nice. Lots of activities on the weekends but admittedly not much going on through the week.

  • Bonnie Boucher

  • Ted Emond
