Of all the cities I have lived in I havent found a city like Winnipeg. A city against which the odds get stacked every time. Even the nature stacks odds against the city, and to believe that you have to be here at the height of winter and summer. Saying all that and more, the city and the province has been blessed with a lot of things and more. Especially with the people and the Community like a commune of hardworking, like minded and persevering people - Indeed One Great City. This One great city brewery constantly brews such great potions and flavors it's always a surprise to be there and try out a few of them before you get to the beer you will drink. So you are a bit buzzed before getting a bit drunk. Their beers reflect the communities, reflect the flavors of the people and reflect cultures and cuisines that make up this city. From radlers and sours to Lagers and ales to stouts, porters, dopplebocks and Pilsners, belgian ale , witbiers to Ipa and neipa and such I have found so many types of beers at any point in time here such a variety. Then they get season specials like winnipeg flavored humbug beer and their tipsy cow stout thats always there and so many more flavors. Food: They have a great selection of food. Don't sleep on their smoked chicken nachos, Lambwich and korean & kimchicajun wings. They keep adding new stuff to the menu which is grest to try out every now and then. I really liked their Chicago style pizza which on my recent visit Was made known to be no more..... Service: Their service is top notch, quick, and efficient. One of those places where people are either trained well or they hire such people that are pro active - never ever had I a wait staff here that didnt know something or get me information on something in their menu. Its well orchestrated place. Its casual professional and thats how brewpubs have to be. Ambience: The ambience is great. You don't feel cramped anywhere you are seated. its a nicely spaced place and has a nice summer patio. I feel sad seeing their plants every time I am there...if the owner/manager reads this I can professionally help them with decorating, buying and keeping plants all year round if they are interested in such(fingers crossed). You should go visit this place if you are visiting Winnipeg. You should take anyone who is visiting winnipeg to this place. All the #whiteout visitors should definitely go there. cheers.

We went there for a JETS game night. We had a friend visiting from Japan who loves beer so we thought here is an ideal place for the occasion since they seem to have a good selection of craft beers and interesting food choices. Overall, they are a cool brewer place to get drinks and their food menus are really hit and miss but it seems better selection than other brewers. We got there 6pm. Took close to 10 min to get seated not because they were are full but whatever reason... The server was friendly and explained the specials. We also found that their jets game specials, apps 15% off and $1 off for their beer, are only offered during the game but not before or after.. We were a group of five people. Here is what we ordered and the reviews -flights(4oz x 4, beer tasters, $10ish): It was a fun to try a lot of mini tasters :) -Nachos: It was probably best food that we ordered. It came with an interesting spicy dip. Highly recommended :) -Kimchi pork Tacos: Super small yet the meat was too salty.. how could they.. :( -Chicken waffle: It was absolutely massive and the maple gravy source was good :) -Korean chicken food: Taste itself was good but way too much source. It was like drinking BBQ... :( The red lentils chorizo soup was full of flavor and yummy. -Beer cheese soup: Soup was pureed and there deep fried cheese balls. It's worth to try -Better Chicken: It had a good flavor, portion and presentation. Recommended :) -Burger: YUP it's a good burger. If you don't wanna take a risk or over spicy food, this is the go to :)

One Great City had been highly recommended to us several times so we eventually got the chance to try it. Short version: Phenomenal food, surprisingly good beers and above average service. We had several different dishes. The beer and cheese soup ($6) might be the best beer soup we've ever had. The flavour is more then what you'd typically find in a soup like this. The deep fried cheese crouton caught us off guard with its crispyness and super tender center. Roasted Brussel sprouts ($10) with smoked bacon, walnuts and queso fresco topping is a great Keto friendly appetizer. The sprouts were grilled to perfection and was topped off with granny smith apples. The smoked chicken nachos ($17) have elevated into my top 3 nachos in Winnipeg. Several other pub restaurants could learn from this. Loaded with cheese, deep fried tortilla chips, smoked chicken and artichoke hearts gave it a unique flavor. But the absolute best part was the scratch made pico de gallo. If they would sell take home jars of the stuff I would buy it. Roasted corn, cilantro and what we think is lime and grapefruit juices make this so, so good. A definite must try. Portion is sharable. For beers, we tried the Fruit tea-riffic sour and a version of the Cherries on the Prairies. Both exceptional. They commonly make small batches which is what we had that is a variation of their stock brews. All in all, very good experience and we'll be back to try some of their other menu items.

Cold steel, glass and concrete, no comfort anywhere. The food was so-so, the beer was pretty awful. For a brewpub you would expect exceptional beer and food but alas it was not so. A greatly wasted experience. Instead of taking the opportunity to educate and uplift Winnipeg beer lovers, they have taken the low and safe path, and are brewing really mediocre beers. We just came back from a road trip to the U. S. and every small town and every small bar had far better beers than what is available here. A small door entry way, a tight hall to wander down and then it opens into what appears to be a cold and stark warehouse. No windows to speak of, but that's ok because you're in a parking lot anyway. Looking out you would not see trees, or grass, just more concrete and steel. All industrial, no pastoral. I usually like pubs, and bars, but this one has no vibe to speak of, unless you're into steel and concrete. Give me a nice English style pub any day, hell even the Black Knight has more atmosphere that this place. No, I won't return. I'll keep exploring in hopes that Winnipeg, somewhere, has a nice 'local' I can feel at home in.

One great city has a really great concept going here, the restaurant attached to a working brewery is really neat. Let's cut to the basics, location was easily accessible, parking wasn't the greatest, but that speaks more to the lousy Winnipeg drivers. We were seated at the high tables, so if you're short, be aware, you will be struggling to climb those chairs. My other gripe on the tables, there isnt much realestate to go around. With entres and flights of beer, our group of 3 was struggling for space, a 4th person would have been untenable. As for the food, it was well prepared and tasty, I had the lamb sandwich, the garlic sauce, which reminds me of Lebanese toum, was zippy. As for the beer, its brewed locally and they are trying a lot of neat stuff, the samplers are a great idea, you'll have stuff you will love, and other not so much, but at only 5 oz you have nothing to loose if you're up for experimenting. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. The absolute highlight for me however was their soup of the day, stellar, glad I went with it instead of fries.

This place is out of this world. We just happened to come across it looking for something different in the polo park area. Service was prompt and friendly, server suggested numerous dishes upon our request. My self and my dining companion ordered the toastadas and Chicken Seoul Food sandwich. For starters we had the soup of the day, Curry Soup. All I can say is wow, it had some kick to it and thr garnish was top notch, just the right amount of cilantro to top it off. The sandwich was moist and the bread was buttery. The vegetables on the sandwich were crisp and fresh. Honestly I ate it so fast It's hard to describe further. He toastadas were equally impressive, had a sneaky heat to them. Eat them fast though as the sauce will soggy the shell up pretty quick. All in all get yourself down here and try the place out. I can tell you by the end of summer I intend to have tested the entire menu.

Very cute place. Not too loud or crowded. I got the mac and cheese (without pork, I'm vegetarian) and it was AMAZING. So much flavour! I was surprised. The pickled onions really complete it; I'd suggest asking for extra pickles onions if you want a little more flavour. They add a tangyness to it that I didn't know it needed! And the baked crispy bread crumbs very good and highly recommend! It's not a very large portion though, that was the only fault, so you may still be a little hungry. The beer and cheese soup with the baked crispy croutons also very very good and flavourful! The flights were also very good - I told the waitress what kind of beer I like (lighter beer) and she picked out the best flight I've had.

Took my beer enthusiast husband here for his birthday. He was able to create his own flight, which he really enjoyed. The food was okay. We ordered the kimchi Cajun wings to start. Cajun flavour was there but we couldn’t find kimchi in the mix. He ordered The Burger and said it was alright so far as burgers go, but nothing special. I had the pulled pork Mac and cheese, and was disappointed. There was very little pulled pork in the dish, the pasta was undercooked, and the dish was dry overall. We decided to have the cheesecake for dessert. Maybe we’re spoiled because I’m a baker, but it wasn’t anything special either. We didn’t like it enough to finish it. Overall the beer was good, the service was good, but the food was meh.

Tried the homemade burger and a couple different brews on tap. Despite them being full, the food was out in record time (less than 10min). Excellent taste on the burger and the fries were perfect. Both beers I tried were great (I had the monkey pale ale and the blonde). This place would have received a perfect rating if it were not for the very aggressive political campaigns running on multiple TVs. Regardless of your political beliefs, I do not believe a restaurant is a place to be pushing political beliefs and moreover, aggressively bashing political parties that your customers might be constituents of.

First off, food is amazing. I have a standing date with the Reuben every time I’m there and the few times I’ve gone off script, everything else has been great. Beer selection also top notch. Service ditto. Seriously, actual personalities and interactions from staff who actually act like they want to be there. And tonight’s icing on the cake? I asked my server if I could have a soup to go, because there was a homeless gentleman sitting quietly outside in the cold, and she informed us that a few patrons had also mentioned him, so the kitchen was making him a burger and fries. This made me so happy to see compassion and empathy❤️ Thanks for another chill evening, and for helping to take care of the less fortunate in the city!

First time here and they did not disappoint! Amazing food! Love the Brisket Tacos!!! What stood out most with this restaurant how amazing our server was. Ashley asked if we had any food allergies and when she found out that one of us had chicken/turkey allergies she took an extra step in asking the kitchen about our order, low and behold one of them contained chicken ingredient which is how we opted out for Brisket Tacos and no regrets!! Never have we ever gone to any restaurant that would take that extra mile. Definitely will be back!!!

It was really busy, but the bartender did a great job serving us. We went in for poutine week. We had a group and we did order one thing, but they treated us like we were wanted customers. The poutine itself was fantastic. One of my personal top 3. The bolognese sauce was just ridiculously delicious. A 5 star dish. We wanted to try more things after that since it was so good, but since we were planning on hitting 5 places, we didn't have enough of a stomach for that night. Parking is easy as its in a large lot. I never knew where OGC was before, but its in the madison square area just behind Polo park where the liquor mart and happy lemon is. Thanks to Poutine week I'll be back.

We went on a Friday night so it was quite noisy. But definitely worth going again!! The food was amazing, we had their Lamb Sammie, and their soup of the day. Both tasted so good. The lamb sandwich was so incredibly good. Seasoned so good and the meat was cooked perfectly. The food came out fast as well which was great as well. The beer was also amazing. The Intrepid was my favorite, but all of the ones that we tried were absolutely amazing. The workers were also very nice and approachable! Amazing service!!

I have been here many times. Several good options on the menu. Pulled pork sandwich with the beer and cheese soup are especially good. Burgers are decent as is the reuban sandwich. Sometimes, dishes can be seasoned a bit better (e.g., grilled cheese sandwich could use more salt). The Chicken Seoul Food sandwich is awesome. Food selection of beers as well with the option of getting howlers and growers filled (beer containers) while you're there. Many people order flights of beer to sample different options. Good go to place when you're in the Polo Park area.

Fun spot where I usually don't really think of drinks and food. Spacious interior, great selection of beers and, this got me, surprisingly amazing food. Lots of Asian infusion in the menu which is also well priced. I thought it would be a brewery simply pumping out pints but it turned out to be a cozy setting for a pub night out with restaurant vibes and super attentive service.

Food is very good, but a little over priced. Decent craft beer selection. Beer cheese soup was good, ask for the house hot sauce for drizzle over the soup. Buffalo fried chicken was very juicy boneless chicken thigh, extra crunchy with a house made dill ranch sauce. Hot prime rib was good, but not enough meat. Veggie burger was a nice smashed black bean patty. Very similar to Smash Burger in the US.

They make all the bread and buns in-house. I didn't know this was still a thing in 2022. The burger may have been the best 'normal' burger I've ever had off a menu, and I'm fairly certain the bun played into this. In fact it's the reason why I was so compelled to write this review. Was it love? No, just bread . . . but close. Oh right - this review isn't supposed to be solely about bread . . . Beers are also great, and we've been here quite a bit this year and I've yet to taste something I wouldn't order again. Also, did I mention the bread?

Other then the fact that they are literally in my back yard, there is a few reasons that keep me coming back here on the almost daily. The food is top notch, made by chefs and cooks who have a passion for what they do. The beer is made by people that take the time to look into what the patrons want and cater to them. And the service is absolutely top notch.

Had a great first experience. The interior is well done with plenty of seating. The only problem we was the acoustics. It did get quite loud and became hard to carry on a conversation over dinner. That was really the only downside. Other than that, we had great service, great food, great beer. The food came out fast. Had the fish and chips. They were light and tasty. Only had the chance to try one of the beers and really enjoyed it (cherry saison). Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.

"Magical" pulled pork, amazing pickerel fish and chips! The beer is great quality and a taste for everyone. I LOVED the Falcon Blonde, my friend loved the Tipsy Cow Milk Stout - and all of them really. There is a patio, a full view of the brewing equipment - it's split off from the serving area so it's not loud like it can be at a more "open" design. The menu is flavourful "bar food" and higher end dishes. It's air conditioned . Friendly Manatoba staff! I'll come again when I'm in Winnipeg!

So, 3 of us walked in around 4 in the afternoon, sunny day so we asked to sit on the patio, may have been 10 customers in the whole place and 4 of them were seated outside....15 mins later we were still waiting for a server when another middle aged couple came out to the patio...another 10 mins and they asked if we had been served...5 more mins and all 5 of us walked out...guy was still at the cashier and didn't even look up as we filed by....not sure how they stay in business.

My wife and I went here for some beer and food. The beer is absolutely fantastic. Their milk stout is one of the best I’ve had. I would certainly recommend getting a flight of beer so that you can enjoy a variety of beer. Their fries are pretty delicious too. My only complaint is that it is quite loud in there and the place was only half full. I would have liked to see some of those sound dampening boards to bring the echo down. Will definitely be back soon.

  • Kat Manhire

Honestly this place is great. Went with four adults, two kids under 5 and we sat on the patio. The server was so kind and good with the kids. They shared a burger and it came cut, with two ketchups for the fries and sharing plates. Great attention to detail. All the food was so tasty and fresh. Would go again any day.

Great food and great beer! What a fantastic spot to have in Winnipeg. Stopped in for a quick beer and lunch. Not sure why we had never stopped in before. The Pork Tostadas were light and fresh, yet more than enough for lunch. Very good. The Lambwich was outstanding and the fries were simply delicious and cooked to perfection. Overall this was an outstanding experience and I highly recommend a visit if you have not already been.

A very good restaurant. Beers are really great tasting. Food is delicious as well. Very nice environment, i went here to celebrate a birthday with my family. Customer service was very good, the server was very friendly and nice. They just charge 1$ per person for cake plating. The wings are delicious and were everyone’s favourite. The beer tastes very fresh since it’s brewed right there. I would definitely go here again

  • Robert Reyes Ong

tried their veggie burger and tropical seltzer, it was decent but none of the flavours really stood out in the burger Update: Lowering my rating to two stars since one of the managers got upset that I think their food was decent. Didn't hear anything from the management and all of us sudden they just started to come after me and my work. Talk about unprofessionalism, definitely won't be coming back to this establishment

  • Dan R

Third time here, I always get the lambwich which is absolutely delicious. Meat is tender, flavorful and bread is perfectly toasted. The best thing about this place is that it is consistent every time I'm there. The prices are reasonable and the servers are nice and not too over the top helpful(always looking for tips type) Overall Ive never had a bad experience here and is probably my favorite in Winnipeg.

One Great City is an excellent place for casual dinning and drinks. The food is amazing, and everything except the ketchup is made in house. The burger is one of the best in the city, and the meat balls will change your life. The beer they brew is good and there is a lot of variety, but my favourite drink is the "One Great Smash", it tastes like a sour soother. Support local independent businesses!

Great place to eat and socialize. Their beers are fantastic and they have other local microbrewery beers on tap which shows their willingness to support their community. Food was well priced for the quality and portions. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Every one was happy with their meals and service was attentive, we had a group of 8. Reservations are accepted.

Have been here twice, service has been great. TIPSY COW MILK STOUT is my favourite stout, it’s so smooth and soft texture. I don’t know how to explain it, it blows the socks off my previously favourite stout which I just found out - that it’s not a stout but a creamy pale ale (Kilkenny). It’s smoother than Kilkenny, I’m impressed. Oh and the food is good too.

  • JP Dexter

Great beers. Tried a flight to start then picked beer from there. Monkey Trail Pale Ale is an easy drinking beer. The beer Cheddar soup (pictured) was awesome. Very rich which was expected. The wings were ok. Cooked well. Had the curry flavoured wings which tasted good but lacked any (spicy) heat. Service was good waitress was attentive. Will go again.

Detroit style pizza! If you love that thick, chewy, cheesy crust this is the place to go. We ordered two medium Detroit style pizzas. One pepperoni & one Honey pepperoni. Both were amazing but the Honey pepperoni was superior. It had more diverse flavours. One tip: order early as the Detroit style pizzas are limited and the doughs are made daily.

Great sports bar vibe. They brew their own beers which were fantastic. You can sample them with their flights. They have alot of deals when its game day. I went when a Jets game was on. 15% apps and $ pints. Great bang for your buck. The food came quickly and the staff were friendly. Across the street from Polo Park Mall made it even more convenient.

Great beer and great food here love coming here to try there creative beers and food. Last time I was in tried there chicken fest creation which was Korean fried chicken with kimchi, rice and pickles cucumbers and it was amazing had all those flavours you would expect from Korean fried chicken some heat with sweetness and that funkyness to it.

Booked a table with a group. Had a couple of different beers and tried the roasted brussels sprouts, and it was all delicious, and a nice portion. The staff were very warm and friendly. A very welcoming environment all together! More

This is probably my favorite place in the city to eat, the food is always incredible, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and whether it's one of their own beers or their Old Fashioned, I always leave completely satisfied.

Good spot for lunch, even better for late night enjoyment. Decent menu selection and not just beer.

The food is consistently great, and the service is excellent. I usually have the veggie burger (black bean) but I tried the Ruben for a change ... and it did not disappoint ! (Top 3 for sure marble rye.) …

Absolutely love that they put up the Humbug sign on top of their building. Too bad Hana Property management are being Scrooges and making them take it down.

Great food and great vibes. Came during chicken week and their dish tastes so good. Their deep-dish pizza is also a must-try.

You need to try "The Burger". it's one of the best burger I've ever had! The staff is very friendly. Open kitchen concept, wich I like. I really enjoy their Queen's best bitter and mad scientist eye PA.

Great selection of beers and ciders. The food menu was full of choices, that created a long list of pairing options. Relaxed atmosphere with personable hosts and wait staff. I highly would recommend.

Got a pick up order. The brisket tacos were very dry and not good. The wings were tiny. Barely any meat. Burger was good. Would not order again.

Really awesome trendy tap room. It's easy bigger than it looks from the parking lot. Good selection and you can try a flight too. Surprising was how amazing the food was. Best of both worlds.

Love this place. Been three times now and the service is always awesome and the food is very good. Whether it's the nachos, Chicago Pizza, or pulled pork Sammie, you won't be disappointed.

Great menu selection. Their beer soup and the prime rib sandwich were amazing. Very friendly staff. If you're looking for a good selection of beers, this is also a great place to try them.

I love everything about this place. One of the screws on the washroom sign is a little off compared to the others imo. Just saying.
