A case worker by the name of JOAN MCQUIEN terminated my account saying I was not compliant while not returning my phone calls or voice messages. Then proceeded to deny me of a internal review until I provided employment information and is now not returning phone calls for the reapplication process. Just because you are a case worker and is managing the unemployment line does not mean you treat them like garbage. They are still people at the end of the day and deserve a bit more respect. Just remember that karma is real and if you weren't managing the unemployment line you would be in it. Also I want to say all the case workers who are good people and are trying to help the unemployed find employment you guys are great and keep doing a great job. Usually I don't leave reviews but because my file was terminated based on a lie I feel that I should let everyone know JOAN MCQUEIN is a case worker that is corrupt and is someone who if you aggrevate will lie and do shady things to stop your benefits

All I can say is the caseworker they had chosen for me was talking to me rudely and not even helpful of my situation. They make it so complicated for you to even apply for this benefit. This is run by the government not run by any of the employees that is working under the government. Especially during this hard time for inflation unemployed single mother that has to pay for rent and bills and food. They should be more helpful that’s why they even started this program in the first place. I believe in karma and I know my caseworker that had talk to me over the phone that was talking to me very rudely. Bad costumer service. I don’t recommend anyone to even wasting your single time to apply for this benefit. Waste of time , not helpful at all . Very disappointed throughout everything. Being a full time unemployed single mother is very hard financially they should do more for people in needs .

This is nothing but a head ache. They will make you send in your information 10x and say “ they never received it” when in reality the case workers just keeps forgetting to update your file. They will hold your payments for no reason leaving U unable to pay for rent or grocery’s when u have a child to care for. NOW they are trying to audit me for things I received years prior to being on Ontario works for example my osap from 2019 as well as accusing me of still working somewhere that I haven’t been a employee since 2016 as well as telling you that you have a vehicle when you do not even have a drivers license. When u call back to ask more details about it they will not even give you the time of day or try to remotely help.

I totally having a bad experience with Ontario Work . I was living in Toronto and I moved to Mississauga the 15 of january 2022, we have calle to transfer our case to this region but the case worker havent called us. We really need to keep receiving ontario work help beacuse we dont have to pay the rent right now, we dont even have work. We were receiving ontario work assistance in Toronto and it was easy to apply, I don’t know why in the region peel its so hard . We need urgently someone to call us to transfer our case to the peel region.

The caseworker Jacqueline McGibbon pushed my partner into such psychological distress through her incompetence and coldness, that he attempted to commit suicide. When telling her about his state and his disabilities, she ignored him for an entire month doing everything she could to have his case closed until he reached out to her manager and then the tune changed. Reading her interactions with him has shown me that people like her should not be working with vulnerable people. I don't think there is a shred of humanity in this "person."

I wish I could give 0 stars. Lady on the phone was absolutely horrid to speak to. She was unprofessional, cold, loud, extremely UNHELPFUL. She was rude and gave me attitude. Talked over me. To the point I got upset and hung up. She tried calling me back, didnt help again, I asked to speak to a manager or someone who COULD help me, she kept talking over me - I couldnt even understand her.. i then told her to stop giving me attitude and she HUNG UP. I needed help in applying for child care. Pathetic service.

This place is useless staff at front desk have no idea what they are doing have no idea what the help you with caseworkers never call you back and when they do call you back they say yes we had this for you and then when you call them back it's like we have no idea what you're talking about. Typical OW office, judgmental people looking down at the less Fortunate

It took well over a month for someone to get back to me regarding me seeking a job to hop OFF OW. In that time I'd found and lost a job as I had lack of transportation funds & the work equipment needed. Things OW promises to help you with as a way to help get you on your feet. Very stressful dealing with these people

The file is not on hold. No email or message on MB. Have sent more than a dozen messages from MB. NO replies. Customer care is a hit or miss. Most time no one picks up the call or waiting time is crazy. I have dealt with caseworker in past and found them supportive and caring. I believe they are under staffed.

Very bad deal. They made an appointment for me and told me I would call you in the afternoon, and they called me in the morning around 8am. When I woke up, I called them at 9 and they told me they hadn't called. We have canceled the appointment. Truly, death is better than all this bad help.

Good for helping people who need the money...an excellent venue for helping diminish poverty.....and give people a chance....people are valuable....show that to the world Ontario works...fight poverty...oppression..and give people value....thank god for human services....give life value....

The help people knowingly who are not interested to work, declare that they are single mother but have few common law! Irrespective of gender people should work at their youth rather giving birth to receive benefits and that is why this organization not doing fair job.

I have called and called and called and left message after message ... I got one call back and I said hold on a second I can't hear you...he hung up, never called me back, I have called and left two messages since then.... no call back! Go f yourselves

these people dont know about customer service. my good friend chaudry shaffique tried to apply for social works and they gave us the hardest time. there slogan should be "we are currently facing high volume of calls". absolutely ridiculous. 0 stars

They are so rude we have a paper there and they never give us the paper we call them everyday they don’t answer us there caseworkers are so trash and rude they think there giving us money they just go to play and do stuff but never do there work

All case workers even though they are busy, they all try their best to help out. I had many good case workers in the past, but I must highlight Nancy Son** she’s amazing and goes out of her way to help people out in needs. Amazing case worker

If I could give no stars and a comment I would. 50 minutes on the phone this morning after also trying all last week. All I need to do is transfer my file so I can be able to pay rent where I live. Which is the whole reason OW is a thing smh

Got told to come in for a mandatory appointment.. did the worker said everything is good and sent me on my way. . Then cancelled my account behind my back. Making me miss rent payment. Totally unprofessional

Very rude ppl, I actually called and have been called 3 times not a single person has a assisted me properly. first time I called them I had 1k left in my account now I have 194...so this is how they help.

I've been trying to reach my worker for over a week now. How is it she is NEVER in office? I'm not stupid, she doesnt want to answer and that's INCREDIBLY inappropriate.

Workers in human service don't know how to respect other people. Dout how they can work at there. It was my worst experience. Even one star rate is too much for them.

I have been trying to get a hearing aid for over 3 weeks now. Ontario works is supposed to cover the cost, but of course they haven't been responsive in over a week.
