English: The parking lot at Cape Town airport has plenty of spaces and is well signposted, but I was quite frustrated because, as I approached the barrier, I witnessed a car in front of me turning back because it didn't open. I tried another machine to insert my card and exit, but it didn't work. I reversed to try another exit, and when I inserted my card again, the barrier didn't open either. My card was rejected, and it displayed a message stating that I hadn't paid. I pressed the assistance button and informed the attendant about the situation. It was an unpleasant situation, and after about 5 minutes, I was ready to pay again when the attendant finally opened the barrier, allowing me to exit. I believe the machines are not being properly maintained. Therefore, caution is advised. Today, December 9 a new evaluation: Tomorrow I'm going to the airport again to pick up a friend and it's terrible because at this airport there is a place to leave the passenger and go on, but there is no option to pick up the arriving passenger and go on. This is something very negative. 2 star for it.

If you stay even 21 minutes in their parkade (20 minutes is the stated alloted free time interval), you will be forced to pay R28. I understand the reason for charging overall to alleviate congestion, though not having any good-faith grace period will result in people having to perform dangerous rushing to get out the car park when it’s unnecessary. Also, the queues take were extremely long to pay for parking, at least 10 minutes was required for queueing on this day when I was there, defacto forcing more customers to unnecessarily pay for parking and wasting their time.

Unfortunately too many negative experiences here, managed by Katanga, personally I've been overcharged excessively on three occasions, to then be asked to come to the office, once they determine I'm not a tourist, I'm given a new ticket which reflects the correct balance. Don't settle for their nonsense, you'll waste less time taking up space at the exits and causing traffic to build up, it's easier for them to just open the boom for you. This has worked for me on four occasions after I figured out the level of dishonesty.

Got caught out by the outdated website directions. Was looking for the ground floor pick-up P1 as stated on website ended up 2nd floor of parkade. P2 drop-and-go the entrance was obscured by double-parked vehicles. It seems that P1 allows a short period for free parking (I was in for less than 10 minutes) not sure if P2 does. Whatever you do, do not put your ticket into the paypoint machine it charged R28? for 7 minutes.

I always park here when going to Centre Point. The guards are very helpful and polite. Undercover and free !! Also very safe. Just needs someone to pick up stuff sometimes. I have noticed that people have even emptied their car ashtray on the floor of the parking!! Disgusting. Thank you guys for all the help and friendly greetings.

Traffic jam at 11pm in the evening. Utter chaos. Two ticket machines in the main foyer, one not working. Back there 5 days later and still not repaired. Disgraceful first impression of CapeTown. Frankly not good enough but symptomatic of an enduring malaise that needs to be nipped in the bud.

Parkade 2 has been moved/rearranged recently so it was confusing going there to pick up a friend for the first time since January. Be sure to take the entrance that says PickUp (first 20min free) which is just AFTER the entrance to the higher levels... where you must pay R26 per hour...

  • Mel McBride

Chaos!! The signage is not adequate and if you make a wrong turn you are f(#$ed! People are getting out of their cars and fighting each other Traffic totally bottle necks at exit and there is not one parkade employee in sight to help God help this airport when normal flights resume

Not bad but ever since I started using parket.co.za to book and pay for my daily parking at the airport I have never looked back. Rates are always good, valet service knows you're coming and easy exit on return. Everything handled in one place.

Getting properly expensive now, over R1000 for 4 days parking! The parking machines need to be maintained as some issue errors when trying to pay with a card.

  • Russell Spargo

Super clean and smart and every single person at the pumps greets and smiles. An absolute pleasure stopping for fuel.

  • Jacques Theron

Exuberantly expensive - 24 hour open parking in the sun R960. I would not recommend the long-term parking at P5.
