I have never left a review for anything but I feel like I have to. I have been on many a nights out yet I have never met such rude security staff. I understand if you have had a bad day but you can’t just shout at people and be super rude in the first instance. Please check your cameras to verify this but last night, when I arrived with my partner, there was no queue and the security man was talking to other staff on the side. They saw us standing waiting for them, I say, do you need our ID’s? No reply so I walk towards the entrance to the other security staff with the machines. Then all of a sudden the big fat security guard and a female staff member are *scream* at us and say where do you think you are going in their birms accent. We were very polite and said oh sorry, and they are like you skipped the queue and I say there is no queue, people are arriving behind us who is ahead of us? Then they keep repeating themselves and say you need to stand here and queue and I say we did and we are standing and queuing and we pass them the ID’s. I don’t know who they think they are literally screaming at us, just say guys wait, why did they both just command us? Ruined my whole night, You don’t know what people go through, I wanted a night out to enjoy myself and honestly the experience left me so upset, when I got tipsy I was honestly crying inside because all I could hear was the security man shouting at me and I felt like it triggered me into a dark place for no reason like why is he doing a job he clearly hates? My dad worked in security as a bouncer too and he was a scary bloke but he never ever would scream something at someone, I felt like he just found a reason to take our aggression on me and my partner when he could’ve just ordered us to do anything without shouting at us with his female staff member and there was no need to be rude as the situation was so trivial. I hope he realised he ruined my first night in Birmingham, he was verbally unnecessarily aggressive and I hope he loses his job. Do your job, u need to pay bills i get it but don’t ever speak to someone like that again. I didn’t deserve it, you don’t know what’s happened to me in my life this week and your behaviour has affected me. I would never recommend Pryzm in birms ever again, I used to go to another Pryzm in my hometown all the time and have never experienced security guards like this. Please don’t come here and you may want to off yourself because a man wants to flirt with female staff members and not do his job properly and instead of directing us to do something right he decides to scream. He ignored me, let me walk past him a couple steps on purpose so he could humiliate me with his colleague. They have clearly done it before because they repeated themselves and both said the same things.

The club itself was buzzing in all 3 rooms, the vinyl room was a personal favourite because of the Shrek songs ;) Drinks were £2.50 that night (even for doubles) which greatly improved the experience so I'd recommend going on FIX Fridays if you plan on drinking. There's a photo booth inside & you can see a bar regardless of where you're standing. We were hoping to go to One Direction night, though the website was inaccurate and it was actually 80's themed in that room, luckily 80s-Y2k music has the same vibe as 1D and we were tipsy enough on £2.50 drinks not to be mad about it. It's not the friendliest place but not unfriendly either, I'm sure most people would love it but I'm used to becoming best friends with half the club by the end of the night in student cities! As with most places, some members of the security team were rude, even going as far to call a member of the party 'stupid' for not understanding their directions (the instructions weren't clear and it was loud inside, but either way being rude is unnecessary). Getting in was a stressful and honestly humiliating experience in some places. High security is great but that doesn't mean it needs to be a power trip. The security is fairly tight, but the male/female scanners seem unnecessary as it forces people into boxes. Otherwise the staff were very friendly! Entry was £8 that night

In terms of size and how the clubs look it’s definitely the best I’ve went to what isn’t saying much as I’ve only ever been to 3 clubs before this but I was generally having a blast in here. But theirs one big problem and that is once you leave you can’t come back in unless you pay the entry fee again. I have adhd and autism it’s hard to stay in one place for more then two hours and the loud music I can cope with and really enjoy it but only for a limited amount off time so I like to go somewhere else and return after half an hour once I get my bearings back but in this club I couldn’t do that. In other clubs you get a stamp on your hand so you can get back in and I’m happy enough to go through all the security and get checked out. The smoking areas is an option to get away but it doesn’t fully cut it for me and I don’t smoke so isn’t the nicest to go to a smoking area to get away from the music. Drinks are also overpriced 6 pound for a small bottle off Stella but I don’t have a grasp on club prises so that’s probably normal around Birmingham clubs.

Me and a group of ours friends went out to celebrate our best friends birthday, which they informed us april birthdays get free entry tonight and a booth before 12. so we arrived at the club by 11:45 just to be told that we don’t get the free booth, even though we already booked. When we finally sorted our booth out they kicked us out of it-even though (like i said) we were entitled to the booth-and they said it’s already booked? well nobody turned up to it, nobody even took us to another booth. we didn’t even get free drinks which the staff at that took our tickets said we would get as an apology. refused to give us their name when i asked, but staff that were working this night were incredibly rude and unhelpful. if you cannot accommodate booths to people as promised, DO NOT sell and publicise them with free tickets. left early as we’re all very disappointed, would much rather go to rosie’s or heidi’s after the night i experienced, at their staff have been a lot more helpful. if it was possible i would give zero stars after this night.

Incredible nights at this place, especially back when it was under the wild reign of Gatecrasher. Let me recount one epic evening: I was casually strolling by (post-Tesco Extra shopping spree at the legendary 5 Ways, before it sadly met its demise), carrying an odd assortment of goodies - Philadelphia cheese, butter, yogurt, cherries, strawberries, and a heap of veggies. The plan was to head home at a respectable 10:45 PM, but the beats were so irresistible that I waltzed into Gatecrasher with my grocery bag in tow. My first order of business? Inquiring at the coat check if they happened to have a fridge. Let's just say the staff found this request the pinnacle of comedy . And that's how a bag of groceries and a whole lot of laughter led to one unforgettable night at Gatecrasher!

Head doorman very racist. Refused to give his name. Threaten us with violence along with a duel heartige man. We simply tried to get help after getting physically hit by a staff meme ever. All we asked is for abit of support and help. Luckily we recorded everything and we will take it from there. No need for threatening behaviour from the head doorman who refused to give his name. They hire to many people who are very goading and basically provoke people to fight them. We will take it further and he young ladies name is Chelsea and she literally slapped my partner in the face. He tried to ask for a little support but needed up getting a handful from the bouncers. Luckily for him he his able to look after him self and didn’t let the bouncers goad him into something that shouldn’t have happened!! Black life’s matter racist doormen

I went to pryzm as i had booked the offer of having free entry for 7 friends, a free booth and a free bottle of bacardi. We were told we had to enter the club before 12 so after we queued for 20 minutes we were told we would not be allowed any of this because we finally entered the actual club at 00:04. While i do understand that everything booked was free, they had clearly over booked and given this offer expecting people to just ignore the promises made and just buy tickets and drinks all night. We were given no compensation for this booking being cancelled and our friends that traveled from york for this night were as disappointed as we were. Would not recommend going to pryzm, drinks are over priced and staff are rude and unhelpful.

Haven’t been here since Gatecrasher owned it (c.2012), but in terms of size, location and sound system, this is one of the best clubs in the U.K. Back in the day, DJs like Hardwell, Kryder, Nicky Romero, Laidback Luke, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano played regularly, and the place was always packed as a result. I know it has a reputation for trouble these days (some of the recent reviews are worrying), but I can honestly say that I never experienced any in all the time that I went. Will make a point of coming up later in the year to see how things have changed.

True, it'll never be as good as Gatecrasher was back in the day and I for one will miss them. That said, we tried pryzm for the first time last weekend and it was 3am before I looked at my watch and felt the need for the munchy cravings to be sated. Massive, friendly crowd, decent prices, enthusiastic security staff that were inconspicuous 99% of the time and some cracking tunes made this a top night. We're on the wrong side of 40 but we'll be back. Cheers!

I was bar hopping and Pryzm was first on my list. I was just going to pop in and pop out but I ended up spending over one hr in one room. It was amazing. The vibe was crazy. Energy, ✅ the music was good, they could do with more afro beats though but that's not a problem. Staff was polite, and most importantly, everyone was well behaved. Danced with a couple other clubbers and nobody groped me or made me feel unsafe. Had so much fun. Will def be coming back x.

Very safe you get a proper search and metal detectors my friends felt really safe in this venue. The music is amazing and we have fun on the dance floor. Unfortunately the drinks are too expensive and put me off spending my budget for the night as I wasn't getting enough for my money so I saved over half what I planned to spend. The service at the bar is quick because no one can afford to drink.

Was just rejected by this club for having rings on, but if I was a female with rings on they wouldn’t have rejected us. We even said we come here every week and wear the same jewellery every time we come? Bouncers need to stop thinking they’re guarding the gates of heaven and lose their massive ego. Don’t come here unless you want to be spoken to like an idiot by the door “men”

Went to pryzm last night and enjoyed so much , stayed till 4am! Great atmosphere! So much energy, great vibes! True , it’s absolutely one of the best night clubs in UK. Massive, friendly crowd, decent prices, enthusiastic friendly security staff … excellent DJs and dancers made this a top night! Great night out . Love this club , we'll be back. Thanks

  • Simon Simon

The worst security Ive ever seen. No respect for other people, changing rules wherever they want, just to stop people going in to the club. Bouncer on the photo (Grey hair) thinks he is the King of Birmingham. Speaking to people without any logic, just do what ever he wants And humiliate people. Bully !!! How people like him work as security....

  • bianca artwell

Really love this club. If you're in the large room then the toilet is up the stairs but if you're in the small room then it's on your level. The staff are really accommodating and found the toilets to be clean at the start of the event and at the end also exteemly spacious. We've been a few times to an event there and are yet to be disappointed.

  • Gagan deep Singh

The bouncers was very rude so as the manager and they didn’t let my friend in and the guy inside scan all my ticket and i told him to leave one cuz my friend was coning but he scan all of it and my friend had to buy the the new one and the music was off as well personally I wouldn’t recommend this club

First time in Birmingham night out and we went to this place. Nice place, really pretty aesthetics. Decently priced drinks, Good diverse range of music in different rooms. It was actually a fun night out. They don’t do cocktails however and cloakroom line took a while but yh overall nice experience

  • Mya May

Better than most London clubs in my opinion. I loved that there were hair straighteners in the bathrooms! And the one bouncer I spoke to was so lovely to me. The queue looked quite long but went really quickly, and I liked all the different styles of music in each room. Would definitely go again :)

  • Neel “NC” Champaneri

Staff inside are useless, woman working at the bar near the toilets near the main floor is absolutely horrible. To do these simple tasks. Rudeness from that woman and telling us to get water from somewhere else, it’s a poor attitude and it annoys as we have been treated horribly.

  • Jyothi Panyam

The security team is the worst one of this night club. They just do whatever they wants without evening giving proper explanation to the customers. Hope they should at least behave properly and explain what’s going on if they’re sending someone out.

  • Josh

Absolutely disgusted, the way me and my friends were treated last night especially as we are regulars at Pryzm and have never been in trouble before. A security guard, going way beyond the professional. Demanding mobile phones and attacking

  • Laura Redman

Very bizarre experience! The security on the doors mirrors airport security which is fine in terms of metal detectors and checking your bag but scanning driving licences to go into a club for a few drinks?! Really?! It seems ridiculously

Decent set up, but not happy with the music and DJ’s. £8 to get in, fair enough for a Saturday. Main floor was ok but went up to the cheese floor and the DJ was not playing cheese half the time. Main issue with both dance floors was that

The building and concept is great! Love that it's got so many different genres, but it's too commercial for me and the house room wasn't playing house music. I found all the staff very rude to be honest. The bar staff were ignorant, the

I'm wondering what your security do ?? My daughter, friend and boyfriend got jumped on Sunday 9th April and they did nothing! I will be looking into this further. Your quests should feel safe knowing someone is there if trouble starts.

  • Keiran Ohare

Simply put the best club in Birmingham. There are four different rooms inside this club one plays house one plays R&B One plays drum and bass and the one on the top floor plates cheesy pop this club is huge so you can never get bored

  • Pooja Balan

Was expecting too much out of the bollywood night last night it seems, the DJ sucked, repeated many a songs more than twice, the treasure that bollywood has, he played none, people were excited because THERE WAS NO OTHER CHOICE!

  • Katherine Watson

Went here to celebrate my 21st and I was not disappointed. Staff were really friendly, the music was great, security were on it so you can feel safe, couldn’t fault any of it. Was a great Friday night and I can’t wait to go back

Most reviews here are for the recently closed Gatecrasher. Pryzm has much improved on the last place but only time will tell how long it can last.
