DONT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE. I needed an MOT and took my ybr 125 custom here. Great looking place, friendly staff. But what a palava. i gave them a clutch cable as i felt mine was frayed and didnt have time to fix. I heard from them quickly that the bike had failed. chain too tight, Light damaged (brand new) and steering bearings. They wouldnt do the repairs and gave me the number of a "Guy" down the road. I couldnt get in contact with him! When i picked the bike up the guy who tested it said he installed the cable free of charge but didnt do anything else! Very odd i thought. I called them trying to rebook and they seemed very reluctant to loosen the chain or fix the light, which was actually slightly angled wrong with a halogen installed. (I fixed this myself) I ended up not getting the retest by them as I couldnt guarantee they would fix the simple issues in case id done them wrong. To sum up. LAZY, didnt want to turn a spanner but were happy to install a fiddly clutch cable. I left extremely confused with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I called in without an appointment to drop off a wheel for a slow puncture, I was asked to leave it with them and it would be ready within an hour. I returned in about 55 minutes and was greeted with there were 2 punctures but its all done for you, I payed the very reasonable bill and was told to ask for Steve 3 in the back yard (presumably they have 3 Steve’s working there) I was given my wheel and as I was wheeling it across the yard another employee asked if he could carry it out for me and did so also offering to fit the wheel to my van for me, I told him it was to be the spare and he said no problem would you like me to put it in the cage underneath the van? I accepted his help as it’s very difficult to fit under the van and requires laying on the ground to achieve. So if you require any mechanical work then use this company as their staff seem to have a standard of excellent customer service, something that is sadly lacking in other establishments these days.

Couple of gripes - I booked a service on line and paid £192 up front, then got a call a couple of days later saying they didn't service my make and model and it took a week to get my money back. Then today I took the car in to have one tyre replaced and another repaired. I asked for the TOTAL cost and was quoted £99. when I collected the car and paid it was £123 as apparently TOTAL cost doesn't include the cost of repair. It's no big deal but if it had been more than that it could have caused an issue. TOTAL costs, to me, means TOTAL cost. Customer service would dictate that the price quoted would be honoured in such circumstances but by protestations were met with a shrug. That said, having read some of the othehr reviews I've had no issues with the quality of the workmanship, they just need to work on their comms and customer service a bit.

This garage is totally amazing. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I am always so impressed by their care and service - they always go above and beyond the call of duty. .We have been taking our car to this garage for years for its MOT, and always find them incredibly reliable and helpful. They have managed to keep our old car going for years! They are also brilliant in an emergency situation. Last year, they came out to us on Christmas Eve and replaced a puncture tyre on the spot! Yesterday, they came to our home, took our car back to the garage, replaced the battery (free of charge because we had bought it from them and it was still under warranty) and then drove the car back to us. Amazing. Thank you so much.

Very expensive as compared to another garage in the area. I paid a total £612. I asked them to do full service on 10/12/2022 of a car that cost around £240 (£20 increased recently). The garage found the problem in the car breaks cost £55.02, and the disk pads cost £168.98. What I don't like is that they top up another labour charge of £109.2. Although I thought I was paying £240 for full service, it already includes the labour. Well, I was not satisfied with the alignment/ Tracking as the car steering is still not aligned. I reported to them, and the garage tested it, but still, the problem exists. So avoid the garage as they charge you step by step, which other garages do in one Lum sump payment.

Absolutely second-to-none brilliant customer service. The guys there are so friendly and helped fix my little car twice in one week! When my car broke down half a mile away from the garage, the mechanic came with us to pick up my car and drove it back to the garage for me. After working on it for a day, they couldn't find the issue. The head mechanic looked at it the next day and they worked for 4 hours and fixed it! Only charged me 3 hours labour and took off the cost of the part they'd ordered in especially as this was not causing the issue after all. They really know their stuff and are so friendly in there, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a brilliant mechanic at a decent price :)

A flat tyre when I arrived at my friend’s house, felt like a disaster. With Good Friday the following day, we had places to be. I called my breakdown services and they were soon on their way. My friend called up PTA Shirley, her trusty local garage and reassuringly they said ‘just bring it in, when the temporary tyre has been fitted - no problem!’ From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble, no fuss, no bother and within a very short time, we were safely on our way again. This efficient and friendly garage appears to be very busy, but everything runs smoothly. Superb service and extremely good value! I plan to use them in the future. Thank You PTA Shirley.

If you have a mechanical the guys are generally helpful. However the past 2 MOT operators weren't. Most recently one failed the car on tyres saying there were 'threads' visible in a cut. When I challenged it he tried showing me but was aggressive as I questioned this judgment. I saw no threads. This was my Daughter's car she wouldn't have a clue what a thread is! There was an even bigger cut which he'd missed! This cost my Daughter £150 for 2 tyres. I went along with it to avoid a real conflict. Only one tyre was discussed , both were on the rear. She got 2 shiney new tyres but the old ones were fine for a good 6 months yet.

I asked whether they can change tyres on motorcycle, they asked if I have my own tyres, I said yes and let them know that I will pop in during next two hours. It was around 11:40. I came at 13:10 and they said they sorry, but I didn’t inform them that I have tube type wheels and they wouldn’t be able to do it today(till 5pm). I tried to explain that there’s no more time to find another tyre shop today, and it’s very important for me to swap tyres for tomorrow, but they can’t do it anyway. Last time I did it in this place it took no more than 40minutes, so I assume they were just lazy today to do some work.

Phoned to ask about a Motorcycle puncture repair and they seemed to try to put me off citing the difficulty of removing a wheel and possibly the exhaust, the cost, and that I might need to leave it with them. I was away for a week and tried Watling tyres Catford, but they were closed. Out of necessity went here. The repair seems OK but took longer than the hour they said and cost £43.00 -though they said repairs from £25.00. I had a similar experience a couple of year's ago. I wil try and find somewhere where I don't get the impression they are doing me a massive and expensive favour.

OMG 100% Satisfied Customer. My Mercedes CLK Due for a Service B, took my time to decide which Garage to take car to after a lot calling around, Decided with This place due to how Polite & how Patient the staff were with me. Had a few issues which I knew about they kept in contact with me constantly and updated me throughout the day and provided Professional & honest advice & Suggestions, which is hard to find these days (most Garages would rip you off and pressure you to pay for unnecessary work). I was so happy that I even asked them to do my Mot a month early.

Really polite, efficient and welcoming staff here. I had my car booked in for MOT and they called me to see if I would like to bring car in earlier as they were up to date with their MOTs which must have created an earlier window, so I did. Great idea. My advisories on MOT were clearly explained in laymans terms, and I will go back to PTA to get these repaired too. So nice to find a straight forward trustworthy garage to take good care of my vehicle. A sincere thank you to the everyone who worked on my car.

I took my van to PTA for a puncture repair that failed a week later , I had the repair fixed by another company who told me the tyre is compromised and will need a new tyre as PTA drilled the hole out to big, although they gave me my money back and would not replace the damaged tyre. Sean the manager then decided to tell me there was more important matters going on in the world like covid. I found this very unprofessional to even discuss. Harry did a great job trying to make another fix on the tyre.

Took my Mx5 mk 2 in for a replacement catalytic converter as some delightful person had decided they would rather have it instead of me having it on my car. The work was done by Louis who battled through it, don't think it was a very straightforward job but he stuck with it and came and communicated with me. I got a good price in the end am very thankful, I will certainly return with a different vehicle for work. Thank you all, from the lady at the desk to the staff on site, you are a great team.

My husband and I use PTA for both our personal car and Company van and have total trust in them. They are always quick to squeeze one of us in if we have an emergency and the work they do is good and priced fairly. They don't just try to make a quick buck but work on keeping their customers. I was worried about a warning light on my car over the weekend when I was away from home and they gave advice in my absence, fitting me in for the morning of my return. Thanks PTA!

Really not impressed been a long time customer probably spent £1000’s over the years. Sump plug got stripped whilst at PTA for a service and apparently threads were re-cut, charging me £40 for the ‘repair’. Only to find oil leaking on my drive. Took back to be re-repaired, still leaking. Had to take car to Main dealer to get whole sump replaced costing £715. Needless to say, never going back. Such a shame as it used to be a trusted local garage.

Great garage.. was supposed to be driving 300miles on holiday today.. woke up and wouldnt you know it the car was crocked. Called around any many places who wouldn't give me the time of day.. PTA agreed to try and squeeze me in and told me to drop the car in asasp. In the end they diagnosed and fixed the problem and had the car back to me within 3hours last minute on a busy saturday. Saved my holiday, thanks guys. Highly reccomend.

It's a rare thing to find a garage that does what it says it will do, at the price they quote in the time promised. They are always polite and fair and don't sugar coat the price or do things they don't need to for no reason. I am the proud owner of an older car and they keep her on the road and keep me happy with fair pricing... I even bring my Brand New Mercedes here for brake pads as they are 40% less than Mercedes main dealers!

Motorbike failed mot so had to take back for a retest. Fair enough very busy but my bike was checked by the same mechanic after a few minutes & I then had to wait an hour for them to write the ticket! Watching another motorbike arrive after me for a full mot and leave 15 minutes before me was the worst part. Retest=no money to pay so relegated to the back I guess. Not going there again.

had abit of problem with this garage .they give me a price which i accepted they told me to come get the car the next day but they then rang me on the collection day and said its not ready and its also going to cost more money and was told they priced the job up wrong .it just caused me added stress to be honest . not sure i could trust this garage again ...

Extremely rude receptionist, her name is Mandy. She talked over people including myself and my family member, her customer service skills needs improvement. My family member used PTA shirley for more than 30 years. not anymore. thanks to your rude, impatient receptionist, in which she uses scare tactics to scare customers into unnecessary work to be done.

I trust this garage to look after my car, they will tell you what needs replacing when it needs replacing not before and charge reasonable prices. The work is done to a high standard and the staff are welcoming and friendly. One of the few honest fair priced garages which are getting harder to find these days. Recommend taking your pride and joy here.

Fantastic Garage. After being treated appallingly by Total Auto Care in Woodside court S.Norwood, who told me I needed a new head gasket and charged for works I didn't need. PTA diagnosed the problem -Not head gasket and saved me a lot of money. Would recommend this garage to everyone. Just wish I had used it years ago.

I took my car in to have the brakes fixed, paid £750, the brakes were fixed but now my car looks like a Christmas tree with all the lights on. They say there's nothing they can do and you should go to the Mercedes specialist. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN THIS GARAGE, YOUR CAR WILL HAVE MORE PROBLEMS WHEN YOU LEAVE IT.

I wouldn’t get my motorcycles MOTd anywhere else. I trust these guys to make sure the bike is safe to ride, and I trust them to tell me what needs fixing regardless of how bad the news is. They take great pride in what they do and my recommendation is my years of continued custom.

After a blowout on the M25 on a Bank Holiday Saturday I found PTA Shirley at 9 am and they immediately fitted a new tyre and got us on our way to an important meeting. All the staff were friendly and even offered our dog some water. I was so happy I left a £20 tip. Well done

Top quality service, took my car to them with a terrible screach, they sorted it out and had it back to me within half an hour, showed me the problem and sorted it out. Did me a real solid. Will always go back use them as they are reliable and fair.

Again I had prompt friendly & efficient service. Warning lights showed on dashwood of my Renault grand Scenic. They unfortunately couldn't solve the problem but checked it for me & advised taking to Renault who couldn't book car in until 18th Jan!!

Brought my motorbike in for an MOT. Staff were lovely and friendly and even though I was a bit early, the bike was started on straight away, while I relaxed, drank coffee and watched TV.

Reasonably priced, but they put the wrong tyre on when I asked for a like-for-like replacement. I didn't bother going back to complain as I didn't think it was worth the effort.
