I do not recommend this dentist office. There have been instances where I arrived for a dental service and am told I have to pay hundreds of dollars without notice. The excuses given were because they didn't know how much my insurance was going to cover. The front office should have figured out what insurance will cover and what payment is necessary prior to my appointment. It's unreasonable to expect a patient to pay a lot of money without any notice. Especially because the situation is totally avoidable. I have been made to wait in the lobby for 20 plus minutes because they were running late. When I was finally called back the hygienist told me no one from the front desk informed them of my arrival. No apology was given. She passed the buck on to reception. This is not good customer service at all. The dentist doing my crown was visibly and verbally frustrated. She made comments about how it was impossible to do the work. She even walked away from the room to gather herself. I know because she walked back in saying she needed a moment. That's so unprofessional. She is the dentist. I am literally paying her for the service and she is blatantly frustrated because of the difficulty/angle of the tooth she is working on. There are too many dental offices to choose from rather than continuing to give these people my money. I needed a receipt to give to my HSA. I called them multiple times- they didn't answer. It took them two hours to email me the receipt. I had to follow up with them. When they emailed me the receipt, it was the wrong receipt. I learned I have a credit on my account. Why wasn't I told that or offered a refund? When I inquired they said they would send me a check. They overcharged me, kept my money and only offered to send me a check after I inquired about it. There are too many issues with this office, particularly the front desk. This office needs major customer service training. They are expanding to a new location and will have even more patients soon. They need to do a good job at this location and with their current patients before they consider expanding. I wont be back. I gave them numerous chances over the last two years.

To be honest, I had a terrible visit this time. I have been coming to Pacfic Heights Dental for 27 years, because of the consistency and the rapport with the staff. Since the practice changed hands, I have felt much less comfortable. Teena has been my hygienist for years and she is stellar as ever. But this last time I went for a repair to a filling site, and did not see her. The experience of getting my teeth drilled and filled was okay. There wasn’t a lot of communication about the work being done, and when I asked questions I wasn’t given much information. But later, I thought that the handling of the charges was unclear. I asked a question and said I had been coming there a long time, and usually wasn’t charged a large bill before services we’re finished or product completed, the woman helping me said that basically things were different now. I thought it seemed like she thought I was being unnecessarily difficult. For me, it was unexpected to be asked to pay a chunk out of pocket. I also had some photos taken for a mouth guard and the tech did not record the first set of photos so that they had to be redone. I audibly reacted because it was very uncomfortable and his response was to say he knows how it feels because he has had it done before, as if I was overreacting. This rather than expressing concern or apologizing for having to do the procedure twice. Overall, for what is a significant patient/provider relationship, there is a lack of bedside manner, and unfortunately after being such a longtime patient, I don’t feel welcome.

0% of integrity : I'm a new client to Pacific Height Dental, I made my first appointment to fix filling NOT for cleaning, NOT for anything else. On the day of service, they did the cleaning without prior notice, I felt it was okay as long as will have a long-term relationship with them. We made a second appointment to have filling, and they told me that they will send me a copy of the treatment plan including the insurance coverage and co-payment if needed. i came today to my appointment and they AMBUSHED me with a treatment plan, and they asked me to pay first. I decided to leave them because I felt this was an unprofessional and unethical practice. It was really very bad experience

First time with Dr Eriksen and hygienist Tina. X-rays are always a bit mysterious, but the 3-D imaging of my teeth and photos of problem areas were great tools to clearly show me the areas of decay and then discuss options for repair or preventative treatment. The photos also made it abundantly clear how much tartar had built up while I was neglecting getting my teeth cleaned since pre-pandemic. Tina was very thorough and kind about what had to be quite a project scraping off all that tartar. My teeth looked great when she was done and I was not hurting or bleeding, so she deserves 6 stars. I made an appointment for a 6 month cleaning right as I left…Overall a great experience!

I’ve been coming to this dental practice since 1992; for the most part - for the incredible hygienists (shout out to Teena!) I’m lucky to have good dental health. Recent events, due to aging fillings and stress clenching, I developed immediate needs for crowns and replacement fillings - which brought me to Dr Hall. Dr Hall is a very very special dentist. She’s kind, patient, and highly skilled. She developed a plan that would address my care over the course of 2 years so I could afford it. And, her precision and gentle touch made the lengthy procedures seem less invasive. She listens to concerns and addresses them with expertise. I’m grateful to her and her team.

Worst dentist office in San Francisco. The front end staff is snippy and rude and when you call to make an appt they hang up on you. The dentist on duty is fresh out of school and is just trying to do the bare minimum of work. Plus, the office looks dumpy. I suggest anyone looking for a dentist to look elsewhere, wish I could have told myself that sooner but hopefully this saves other people time and experience.I’ve chosen to use my Indian name for privacy but I indeed was a client here. But as you can see by the response delusional and passive aggressive is what you’ll pay top dollar for.

Pacific Heights Dental was referred to me by a close friend and work colleague who had been going for a few years, and I am so glad he passed along the recommendation. The staff was extremely thoughtful, friendly, and considerate each step of the way. They took time to explain my options, and helped save me a bigger headache down the line by delivering a great cleaning, scaling, and X-rays. I hadn't been to the dentist in far too long, and now I am much more likely to be a frequent patient than I ever have of any dentist before! Thank you and this is a great choice for anyone looking.

I chose Pacific Heights Dental mostly due to location - I live just a few blocks away which makes it very convenient! Since then, the incredibly kind and generous staff have kept me going back. I had an unexpected amount of dental work to address in 2020 and the team was supportive in setting up payment plans and very responsive to seeing me post visits to address residual pain. Would definitely recommend!

I have been coming to Pacific Heights Dental for almost 20 years just because I love my hygienist, Teena! She is very skilled, friendly, caring and fun to work with. She makes me very comfortable, and her work is just so great! Love the office staff too, they are all friendly and professional! Teena, see you in 6 months!

The office says they accept a wide variety of insurances, but are not in network with many. They feel no responsibility to alert you that they are out of network and will bill you $$$ for elective treatment that they push and pressure you to receive. A deceptive and unempathetic practice. Will not be returning.

I have been seeing Teena for years for my teeth cleaning. She is the ultimate professional, handling me with a gentle skilled hand and telling me what she was doing at every step of the cleaning process. My experience with the dentists in this office has been equally impressive.

I adore the team at pacific heights dental. Barbara, Dr. Jacobsen and Tina are amazing. I feel like is a family reunion of people I want to see, every time I visit. The expertise, kind touch, familiarity are of the highest quality. The location is also amazing.

Always good service. I was seen a bit after my appointment time but was impressed how quickly 5 cavities got filled. The man who sets up the room can be a bit snippy but when around the Dentist changes his behavior and becomes very solicitous of her.

Dr. Hall is the BEST dentist I’ve ever been to! She told me exactly what was wrong and got right to working on my mouth. I have severe dental anxiety, and she made me feel so much calmer and made it as painless as possible! Highly recommend!!!

I had a pretty good experience here with cleaning, deep cleaning & cavity filling. Dr Buey and Tina are both patient, kind and attentive to detail. They both helped me understand the problem, treatment plans in office as well as at-home-care.

Dr. Hall is a wonderful dentist. I have a fear of going to the dentist and she is always kind, patient, and professional. While I'll never love going to the dentist, I do not dread it the way I used to before seeing Dr. Hall.

  • Rene Rodriguez

Excellent care and service here. The friendly dental team does great work with state of the art equipment. The offices are in a comfortable setting inside a converted Victorian. I enjoyed the art and yo-yo museum inside.

  • Elliot Rogers

Best dentist I’ve ever had, the staff are all really nice and don’t try to always upsell me and the procedures are comfortable and painless!

  • Katie Horan

Been going here for over 10 years. Wonderful team that is highly skilled - clean and lovely office! Cleaning was thorough and painless.

  • Kent Tayenaka

Teena Walsh is the best hygienist in SF - period. The office is great, Dr Hall is great. I’ll miss all of them.
