Hidden away in residential Muizenberg is this peaceful open space which allows you to come close to nature. Well-marked path and it's wheel-chair friendly. Be careful of people who sometimes let their dogs run wild, but it's a great place to observe birds on Zandvlei. Gates close in the evening so it's safe.

This is a secluded hut that allows for a great view of the birds in Sandvlei. It is fairly large and can hold what I estimate is 10 people, though it is unlikely that so many would be there for photos. I was able to take photos with an 85mm lens, so 200mm should suffice for good photos of the local birds.

Great little place for a nature walk and dog walking. Birdlife is rather good in the days when the wind is not blowing. Cons: the vlei water sometimes stinks to high heaven. All in all, a good spot.
