I frequent this place with my pup and to be completely honest, I’m often left feeling unimpressed. This is my go-to spot for their pet wash station and they have decent retail items that I don’t find in other chain stores. However, it seems every employee is working at about half speed, or they don’t really want to be there. Every time. There’s also always some sort of issue whenever I go to use the wash station. There is always a long line, no matter what time I go in. It takes the staff forever to do their “cleaning” process which seems to change every time I go because some employees spray something, some just rinse it out, some just let me use it, I don’t even know. It also seems a bit expensive for a wash considering I have to wait 20-30 minutes at any given trip, and they provide just the bare bones (usually I bring my own supplies with me anyways). This last trip I decided was going to be my last because I raced across town to get there before their early cut off line (close at 9, wash closes at 8:30) because my dog had gotten filthy at the park. I walked in dog in tow by 8:29, immediately tried to buy a wash and was turned away because the clock had JUST turned 8:30. The employee just said we close at 8:30 and there’s a long line, and that was that. I totally understand that’s their policy, but it just felt a little cold considering how often I go, and the amount of money I’ve spent here over the years. When I got out to my car my clock read 8:31. It seemed a bit like splitting hairs to be honest. All in all, it’s a decent supply shop! They carry some cute stuff and their toppers are good quality. But the wash situation is always a 20-30 minute mess and it just seems a hassle every time I go. I’m going to try out other dog boutiques that offer more and hopefully have better service.

Since becoming a customer of this store, I've been treated very well and love how the staff goes out of their way to assist us. Suzie (mgr) is totally awesome and has been helping find dog foods that agree with our girl Storms tummy. (Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shep mix) I will continue at this store for all our pet needs. ****Followup on 1st review - After being a customer of this store location for coming up on s year, my opinion hasn't wavered. Customer service is extremely important to me and I always call before I come to this particular store. The staff are very kind & helpful but I've been working with Susie since my 1st visit. I have PTSD, ect & get uneasy in public places pretty easily. I've come to be very comfortable shopping ar this store due to how I've been treated as not just a customer but as a person. Susie has gone out of her way to help me and the owners should be very lucky to have someone who goes above & beyond with their customers. Knowledge & decency is something that in today's times is hard to find. I truly enjoy coming to this location & getting all our pet needs. The smiles from staff makes the visit more enjoyable, peaceful & makes me want to revisit again soon. Thanks to Susie, Michael & all who go above & beyond what their jobs require. We wanted to introduce my 4 year old son to the world of pet ownership, so after several months of him working on his responsibility chart, we finally went to buy a hamster. He brought his own money, picked out his hamster, and was absolutely over the moon with excitement. Less than three days later, the hamster was dead. She had worms and a bacterial infection. We took her to the vet, spent $160 to give her the best chance of survival, but nothing could be done. She was dead within hours. The vet said she must have been sick when we bought her. At that point, I wasn't mad at the store. They can't possibly know if all their hamsters are well before they sell them. But we wanted to let them know so they could check their other hamsters. We called the store, told them what happened, and they said that they could give us a refund or a replacement hamster, all we'd have to do is bring the sick, dead hamster in as proof. I did not want a refund. I did not want to bring in a disease-ridden corpse into a pet store. Their insensitivity to me and their lack of concern for the pets that they still had was shocking and abhorrent. This is something that no parent should have to go through immediately after buying a pet for their young son. Do yourself and your family a favor and just go somewhere else.

Took my lab there for a self wash service. Went in at 1 pm, they didnt have the wash cleaned/sanitized so we had to wait about 10 minutes before use. You may want to call ahead if you dont wanna wait. They do have a bench that you can sit and wait at, if something like this happenes again. Hopefully they will make sure this is done with opening procedures next time. They offer good prices, $10 for one wash or $25 for five washes. I ended up leaving spending the $25, just was a great deal to pass up. There is a left and right side, left is for large dogs, it's not as high, so your biggie can just step right in and the right side is for small/medium dogs, there is a small ladder for them to climb up. They provide 4 diffrent types of shampoos, 2 towels, wet brushes, aprons and air dryer. The only other down fall I found, was the power of their dryers. I spent 30-40 minutes air drying my dog plus towel drying, and my lab was still on the damp side. So overall, great value, but you kinda get what you pay for, still a self service wash, not the greatest dryers and wasn't prepared. For me it still beats washing my biggie in the backyard, hunched over and using all my towels to dry him.

If you just have a dog or cat the store is a good bet as it is well supplied, neatly organized and has a self-service dog grooming station. (Assuming that you're not bothered by them selling remote training collars.) If you're looking to buy a fish this is not the place for you. The selection of fish is small and the ones they do have don't appear too well taken care of. I did call in to the store to ask why they don't use any decor for the fish to hide behind to reduce stress and the person I talked to said they weren't sure why that was. I didn't expect a regular employee to know that kind of information that's probably decided higher up, but it does imply that this isn't a temporary situation and I walked in on a weird day. If you want a small pet / reptile it's probably not your best bet, but if you already have one the stock of supplies is decent. If you're looking to buy a cage/enclosure for a small animal or to buy a mouse this is pretty decent (they have a wider selection of cages and don't overcrowd the mice as much as some pet stores do).

Adopted a pitbull yesterday first time ever go in there usually go to Petco which I always thought it was a little overly expensive we were greeted as soon as we walked in we had some things in mind Ivan I believe his name was helped us out showed us where the items were we looking for gave us some suggestions along with the bathing information he let our dog taste test one of the ice creams which we bought he took the items to your front that we picked out even give her a dog a little treat we end up buying more. How to sign up for something which gave us a coupon for low discount is very polite professional and knowledgeable and for that reason is a why I would go back to the one on Huebner and why I would recommend this place to everyone. **UPDATED REVIEW** Great locally owned pet store!! I always find what I need for my cats plus more. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and they always have deals that really make a difference. I've gone to several pet stores and this one has officially become my favorite. ... and since I chose to update this review this is why ... this store is truly great. It's become like a hangout for me. The staff is genuinely kind and they make it a point to ask if there is anything you need. There is no reason to go anywhere else for all your pet needs. Give this store a shot. You will not be disappointed. That is what makes a loyal customer out of me. A staff that is all heart and goes above and beyond :)

This is a large pet store that carries high quality brands of food that I don't see elsewhere. They're always doing some kind of sale and if you sign up for their free rewards program you'll likely get another small discount on top of that. The two employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful. I like how clean this location is. The majority of the store is dog-related products, but I appreciate that there's almost two entire aisles dedicated entirely to cats because that's not common anywhere else. They have cute seasonal toys and dog cookies. They have fish and birds and reptiles as well as the gear you need for those smaller pets. This is my go-to pet store.

I found this online and wanted to use the self-service dogwash. I called first to ask about details. Whoever answered the phone put me on hold before I could ask any questions,then hung up on me. I took a chance and drove 10 miles only to get there and find that the store was going to close an hour early do to "circumstances". I explained that it would only take me 15 minutes at the most to bath my dog,and that the store wasn't going to close for an hour. I was told that they needed at least 30-45 minutes to clean the selfwash stations. I normally go to Petco,but found this place and decided to give it a try. This location is very poorly managed. I won't be back.

With plenty of time to spare to bathe my dog, I was told they weren’t taking any more dog washes. I drove 30 minutes to get here and had called ahead previously to inquire more about it as a first timer. Yes I did arrive with 30 minutes to closing but I didn’t think I’d be turned away if I gave him a bath within that time frame and left before 6pm. I am 5”2 and my dog weighs 60 lbs. I was looking forward to bringing him here after cleaning my home which I spent all day moving into. Now the hassle is just the gas to and from + time wasted. Will be bathing my dog the best I can at home.

It’s ridiculous for buying the birds food supply, get the price on sale at the shop about $13. When I come to check out go up to $19, the cashier ask me have to sign up for account. I am not use to buy the food there often, I won’t be able to signed the account member. If the price on sale at your store your guy just gave only for membership please note at your store. Don’t let the customers felling bad when we just want to come for buy a little food for the pets.I will try buy the food at other stores make me fell more scene. That’s not smart for business.

Do you need crickets? They have crickets. Need medicine for your beta? Yeah they have that. Food for your gerbil or rabbit that you can buy by the pound? You can get that here. You need that light for your lizard or a new toy for your bird. All that stuff here. I was so surprised by the variety of items. Prices are comparable and they offer a free "member" card that gives you extra savings. The place is clean and the staff is super helpful and friendly. They have stuff for your kitties and puppies as well of course.

Pet Supplies Plus has won my business! The staff is always friendly and, actually, knowledgeable about their products. I've gone a few times and almost every time, the manager is around and offers to help take the products to my car. GREAT customer service! Today, I was informed that if I acquired their app, I'd get $5.00 off my total purchase with a coupon. (The cashier didn't have to do this.) It's all these little things that make a huge difference . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The man I spoke to was very helpful and escorted me to find the items I needed. He explained what I needed to know and offered me the club for discounts and signed me up. Very impressed with the professionalism the prices and the selection. I will go back. April 2021 - Still shopping here but now I shop online. 2020 was a terrible year but I could still get my pet supplies because I can shop online and pick up my purchases, contact free, or they deliver. ❤

3 stars does not reflect the helpful service by the employees. It would be 2 stars in my opinion due to the continuous lack of support and supplies for the cat section/shelves which is almost always only 50-60 full since we've attended this store since last June 2020. We must always go to the Austin Hwy or 281 store for our cat supplies. It's a shame and an inconvenience. Just an observation and opinion. The employees have all be helpful and courteous.

Liz and Liz, are amazing! The staff is really friendly and helpful. They know the customer flow well, and schedule the right amount of people; so there is never a backup. Queenie, the parrot, has a ton of personality; and if you're lucky to catch her nibbling on her seedball, you're in for some fun. I always love coming here just like earlier today. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable about your pets needs and issues. They carry my favorite Dog food "Fromm". When my daughter and I have used the Doggy Washing Station or are shopping, Michael is always walking around ready to help you with anything you need, which is a blessing. The other staff members are also very kind and friendly. I'm always recommending PSP to people.

This place is neat as they have a lot of variety in their selection. Some things you can find a lot cheaper than other pet stores/online. I came here to get a harness and a leash and spent around $30. I know I could have saved about $10 going to Ross or Tj Maxx but I liked the convenience of bring my pet in. The staff is very friendly which is why I give 5 stars. Over all I will be back to see what deals I can find.

Chris is one of the best managers I have ever seen. She really makes everyone feel like family and always has a massive smile on her face when dealing with me or any other customer. She makes it a very pleasant place to visit. I sure hope she gets a raise and doesn’t have to work so late soon cause she deserves it. Came to try out the self service pet wash and I will be coming again! Everything you could need is provided (except a shedding brush but I have a specific one I use) different shampoos, conditioner, rubber scrubbers, towels, dryer. The water is also warm so your pet gets a well deserved bath and won't be freezing. The store associates were extremely friendly too and genuinely care about their customers.

This was my first time here and I'm very disappointed. The fish were in horrible conditions with alge growing on most of the tanks and there were many dead fish just left in the tanks. There was a dead bearded dragon, most of the water bowls for the reptiles had mold growing in them, and there were dead crickets in some of the tanks. Overall, bad quality and treatment of the pets. Wouldn't recommend

I honestly love this place because of the family owned business feel. They have plenty of products to match the others retailers, plus some items they don't have (like the bakery style treat case). One location even helped me find a fur-ever home for a kitten I rescued. They have awesome do it yourself wash stations for your pets or you can have them doll your fur kids up. Anyway give them a try!

We also tried out the self service dog wash for my fur babies and the staff member who helped us was nice enough to show us how to use all the equipment/products they had available for us. I love pet supplies its my go to place to buy kitty supplies and toys. Compared to other places and buying things at the vet clinic you cant beat the prices at pet supplies. If you get the membership (its free) you can get some good deals. The place is very clean and organized and well kept. The staff is so friendly and very helpful when you need it or not. Better than Petsmart and petsco

I absolutely adore the staff at the store on Babcock. We feed our dogs a certain canned food and the people are beyond helpful when I phone ahead to see if they have any in stock. I am always greeted politely and should I need any assistance it is given promptly. They are reasonably priced. It’s a pleasure doing business with a store that makes you welcome. Large selection of dogs, cats, and fish tank merchandise. Not much on hamsters at this location as some of their other locations. They did hold a fish tank for us in the back after we called in the morning hours due to a fish tank sale. So for that we are very happy and appreciate it very much. Staff was very helpful and very friendly to us and our pup who we brought in with us.

I bought my German shepherd food and since it was a new food introduced to her I asked the cashier if they allow returns .She said yes and unfortunately, my Dog had an allergic reaction to the food this was confirm by our VET. So we try to return the bag and the manager didn’t allowed it. I have my receipt and it’s only 3 days since I got the food.DO NOT BUY HERE!

Kris was extremely extremely rude! I called this store 4 days straight looking for same product that they claim to be out of! Came to the store and it’s here ugh. Then on top of everything, Kris has the right to give me attitude claiming she knows I didn’t call, aka calling me a liar. Go to petco, they’re cheaper anyway, forget supporting this place, very rude!

I brought my Adopted catty to get first vaccination I called few day ago to know the cost and I was told it will be free if I bring it on 23th at 1 to 2:30 pm will be free so when I went today fist she told my 77$ and then she said 120$ it is False information and bad costumer service by the staffs, she was very rude to my wife and kids

I just went to Pet Supplies Plus (the Babcock location) for the first time and I was very impressed with the store and especially the staff. They were super friendly and all got down on the floor to play with my dog. We both loved it. It's way closer to me than any other pet store and it's awesome. Will definitely be our new place!

Their prices aren't any cheaper than any other place but they are very friendly and helpful. I bring my three huge hairy dogs in for their self washing station about once a month. It's $25 for 5 washes. They never rush me or complain about the mess plus their store brand dogfood brand ( Redford) is great for my allergy prone pups.

This dog bathing station is handled VERY POORLY. We have come 3 x. Each time they say they will call us when it’s our turn, they don’t. When we go back there are dogs in front of us that weren’t when we signed in. Their cleaning takes 3x longer than the one in Bulverde. I wll NEVER recommend this store to anyone nor will return.

The employees are always very friendly, caring and willing to help with whatever you are needing. They carry the very best quality of pet foods and at a reasonable price. I enjoy visiting the Babcock Road location, the employees make me feel special and are so willing to help. I plan on using the pet washing station real soon.

My chihuahua enjoys the free samples on the floor. I enjoy the great customer service. The staff is always helpful and so far the Redford naturals chicken and sweet potato small breed is a great kibble for our chihuahua. She is 9.5 lbs and the small bite size kibble is perfect kibble to add with her home made stuff.

Pet supplies plus is the best. Don't forget your card for great discounts. If you don't have one just ask they are free. Can be a little pricey but they have great extras. A Vet and a pet wash. They do have a great assortment of everything your looking for. A very nice place to shop and a great knowledgeable staff.

Do not attempt to go 20 minutes before close regardless of whether you’re the only customer waiting to get in or not because the Babcock location will be closed “due to maintenance.” No notice on doors just left us standing there until we called the store. Wonder if corporate condones this as well. Just a heads up!

All of the staff here is exceptional other than the female manager! If you love your pet I highly recommend this place! Plus they have a station where you can take your pets to bath for only $10 per pet or $25 for 5 baths! They provide 4 different types of shampoo/conditioner, huge fluffy towels, and a blowdrye!

I always find what I need here at Pet Supplies Plus on Babcock. I never have to worry about long lines because I go at different hours of the day, they always have what I need and I’m in and out in no time. The staff are great, the place is clean and they allow you to bring your pets in, that’s always a plus.

Y'all definitely need an entirely new staff. I recently took my dog for a bath and the female that was cleaning his tub was clearly not in the mood to work. She was dragging you could tell she was upset and her attitude was completely uncalled for. This has to be the worst staff y'all have had in awhile.

Second hand: I don't have a pet, but this is the location my friend and I go to get products for his dog. According to him, the prices here are cheaper, comparatively, to the larger box stores and they are the same products. There's also more attentive staff here than when we've gone to larger stores.

We were to get Birthday gift for our pup. We didn't venture very far into the store. The dog toys and treats were located near the front. The staff os friendly and helpful. The store was clean. Our pup liked the cookie, but the shelves didn't seem very well stocked. COVID-19 could have an impact.

Went in for fish food and water testing strips, and came out with a lot better grasp on what my fish need, and what may going on with him. Also said they would test my water for free! All staff were friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable. It’s a drive across town I’ll be making from now on!

So happy with the selection of frozen raw food for my pups! For a while there, they only carried primal, but now they have Stella and chewy's and some instinct. I try to feed a variety of protiens/ brands since each one has different formulas. Thanks on behalf of 3 very spoiled babies …

This place is awesome. They have a cute dog cookie section, which my pupper loves. Thier staff is very knowledgeable and won't avoid you like certain big chains. This is our go to pet supply store for all of our puppers needs. I always recommend this place to people in need of pet supplies.

I've been looking for these Kong Wubbas (picture) for over a year!!! I've never seen so may options for my dogs in one store before now. So many different brands of toys, food, treats, busy feeders, accessories, buffalo horns and elk antlers, the list goes on.... Do miss this opportunity!!

The supply of super worms and meal worms needs attention. The ones on the shelf are dated 3/31 and of course they are all dead by 5/3. If you ask nobody knows who orders them or if any will ever be ordered. They do know they get them on Fridays but not every Friday. Reptiles need love too.

Very informative employee!!! I asked multiple questions about what's recommend for my fish tank being a new fish tank owner. Didn't feel rushed thank you!! Definitely be coming back. Other fish stores didn't take the time to approach or inform me and that's what they specialize in.

First time I went and I was surprised at how much supplies they had for all animals that are not at petsmart or petco. I loved the variety of dog foods and coupons they offer in store. I also signed up for free in store for promotions. I will be taking advantage of that.

Love this store! The sales team are always so helpful and nice. They offer to take the large bags of dog food to my car when I him with me. The store it self I'd always super clean and it's not crowded like the big chain stores. Lastly the prices are super reasonable.

I’ve taken my puppy for dog wash here for few times, and we absolutely love it everytime! Clean place, there’s a lot of varieties of toys, food and treats in such a great price and friendly staffs, amazing customer service!! My puppy and I enjoy this place so much.

Best pet store ever. Found my puppy food way cheaper here then Amazon, and it's not a common brand. It was clean, well stocked and perfect. The club discounts and app coupons are great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, definitely my go to place from now on

Easy in and out. I grab my crickets and go. They seem to live longer than the other large corporation pet stores. Gizmo is happy! Now that I have my puppy, Jellie, I visit more often. The staff is very friendly and helps me out with her. She loves the attention.

I love this place when I can't order frozen feeders for my snakes and need some in a pinch. They don't carry as much variety of rodent bedding as a larger chain, but I can usually find something that works. Staff is friendly and prices are pretty good, too.

I dont go to their competitors anymore. I moved about 20 minutes away from this store and drive to it to shop. The variety is on point both higher end brands and standard retail brands. Their store brand is VERY competitive to leading/national brands.

We've never had a bad experience at Pet Supplies Plus. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable and the store is kept tidy. The only negative is that they are a smaller store so their inventory is small, so you may have to to wait while they restock.

It was my first time there. Very clean store with many products on hand. Easy to find what I needed and nice staff. I found a cat food I've never seen before. My cat LOVES it so I'm grateful for that. They also had the dog bones I was looking for.

My go-to place for pet food. Not many places have a rewards card that actually rewards you, but this one does. Every so often, our household gets a free bag of food (worth $50+). The staff are also always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

The refrigerated dog food here is 40% cheaper than any other place! For that reason alone I will give this place a good rating. The staff is helpful and nice, the store is clean, and even their dry food is a few bucks cheaper than other places.

Very clean and well stocked store. I enjoyed seeing everything they had to offer. Their fish selection was a little on the basic side for a serious fish keeper but a beginner would have a great time finding their starter tank and fish here.

A fine local resource as we move from out of state and seek supplies for our cats. A large, well stocked and well-staffed store; markedly superior to the usual nationwide PETCO & PETSMART chain stores. Manager Blake was especially helpful.

This place is great, has everything and local with very helpful staff. Super great deals too make sure you sign up with them! Went in there for a travel bowl for my thirsty doggie and even got color selections. Don’t forget pee pads. haha

Great location, easy parking, lots of selection even for specialized dog foods. The dog wash is pretty sweet and so convenient close to my home. The customer service was also very knowledgeable on events and services available.

Currently my favorite location due to better variety of treats I couldn't fund at tsc anymore much less better quality dog food. Primarily come for the Stella and chewys brand for the canned stew, shredders, and dry food.

First time coming to this shop and it was great! The staff was friendly and helpful, place was clean and tidy and overall we had a great experience. The had a good selection of treats, toys and foods. Will be coming back.

My two neighbors and I shop together when one of us had a discount coupon. Throughout the pandemic, a lot of our usual products were very hard to find anywhere, including PSP, but now the shelves are well stocked.

Great piggy ears! Individually wrapped and huge! Our pups devoured them! They have some meat filled dog food cans we had never seen and our dogs were so happy! Customer service was great! Will be back for sure!

Great store, wish it was closer to home but worth the trip. Always get our doggy treats and kubble here even if its a bit more than the retail giants. Its worth knowing I am getting fresh products and supplies.

This place has great deals!!! Becoming a member is easy and free!!! The run a special on dog food, every 10th bag is free! Friendly and helpful staff. For those with big dogs, there is a dog washing station!!!!

Everyone is always very nice and helpful. They always say hello to my pupper and even give him a treat. I really like that they have the bathtubs for the dogs. Its honestly easier for me to bath my pup there.

Great store. Staff is always so helpful and friendly. Front cashier wearing a grey hoodie had an attitude during my entire transaction. Left me uncomfortable to request help to carry my dog food to my car.

Prices are alitte high and store looks outdated. But they had what I needed. A dog was being groomed may have just been a crazy dog but he was barking like crazy he sounded so scared. Staff was nice

The website is trash. Doesn’t work. Check out freezes and locks up. All other websites are okay once I remove the website tab. It’s a shame I tried to order for pick up and it’s forever loading.

Great local pet supplies store with friendly staff and clean store. The self wash tubs are easy and convenient to use. The wash card makes it easier and cheaper to frequently wash my pet.

Nice place to find pet food when in a hurry. You can also give your dog a bath there for $10.00. you do all the work but they supply the towels, shampoo and blow drier. Cool!

I go here normally because the fish tanks are cleaner and healthier. My last visit saw too many dead snails. Hopefully that was just a fluke and will improve soon.
