Hard to believe with twitter Facebook online reviews customer service and response to complaints can be so bad. My experience; went to pick up dog food and could not find it bought a different type ( same brand ) no one around to help me look for what I would have like to purchase. Went to cashier waited several minutes - staff were in office chatting eventually someone spotted me but kept chatting for a bit longer. Rang in dog food and wrong price came up 5 $ more than shelf price)- upc entered wrong in computer - cashier Argued it was right price until I pointed out that what was on bag of food and her price were different - she called manager who was still busy chatting in back room - manager very annoyed . Tried to discuss petland policy for when customer is overcharged ( petland just tried to take an extra 5$ from me) I asked if customer gets free when wrong price came up Manager still annoyed and now thought I was trying to scam petland - indifferent that Petland had just tried to liberate an extra 5$ from me. Several days of emails and phone calls to district supervisor and no response- I ended up sending 3 different emails and 6 phone calls to different people before I got A response - district manager seemed indifferent to problems I had and insisted On getting staffs side of the story -like I and her staff were two children who argued And she was the adult . Through all this no apology from anyone at petland about not getting served or being charged wrong price for food and not a thank you for pointing out upc error . Presently waiting for an apology and restitution ( to be paid to humane society) Apparently these things have to be approved by head office . All true - laughably bad customer service

I love the store and the product. The employees are all super patient and informative as well as kind as they always allow me to give attention to and handle the animals there. I do have to say however, the price for Morgan, the parrot is crazy hahah she legit would not let go of my hand last night and did not want me to stop rubbing her head, she even joined in the conversation I was having with her by whistling back a few times. She needs a family. But who can afford her?? She’ll prob stay at Petland for a while unless a millionaire comes in and realizes how amazing she is. I would personally give her so much love. Lower your price for regular folks like me. It’d be a sin if no one adopted her only becauSe of the price. You’re supposed to find homes for animals there. Not put a price so high that people can’t afford them. K end rant. Think about it.

Went to this location about a month ago to buy fish. The staff member in the aquarium section was incredibly rude. He refused to sell me any fish, alternately accusing me of having killed all the good bacteria in my tank, too much ammonia, chlorine levels were wrong. Then told me I needed to have a large tank ready because the type of fish I was considering buying grew to enormous sizes (instantly, I guess?). He was so aggressive, my husband was ready to step in to let his boy know I'd been caring for fish long before he was even born. I walked away to avoid any further confrontation. We literally drove to another store and bought fish. I will not return to this location. We have several fish and a turtle. We also have 2 cats and 2 dogs, all of whom are on Orijen food. That's a lot of business lost. I will not shop at this location ever again.

On August 19th, 2019, my Daughter who had just turned 13 wanted to buy a Crown Tail Betta Fish as a pet so we went to the Petland at Heritage Meadows. The staff that worked in the Aquarium was very knowledgeable and helped my Daughter get everything she needed for her pet fish and I was very impressed with his excellent customer service. On October 4th, 2019, I went back to the same store because the heater which we had purchased over a month ago wasn't working anymore. I went up to customer service and was assisted immediately by the manager Ben. I explained what had happened and Ben was very understanding and in less than 5 minutes, he returned with a new heater as an exchange for the faulty one. Thank you very much Ben for your outstanding customer service and to your excellent staff as well! I am now a loyal customer. Cheers!

Great store that i feel like is fairly underrated because of its location. I didn't think i would have much luck because its in a bit of an awkward spot, so i figured their fish stock would be low. I came in to buy a Betta and spent almost an hour looking at their selection to pick the right one. They had a HUGE variety of Betta's, including a lot of the premium types (which is what I was after). Every one I saw looked in good spirits (despite being in their little cups). I even went to another store down the road to make sure there were no other good options of Betta's in the area. I immediately came back, spent another 20 minutes narrowing down my choice to one. All staff were super friendly, helpful and patient with my indecisiveness.

3rd time purchasing fish from this location. EVERY TIME after inspecting the fish at time of purchase, ensuring no death/sickness/illness within the tank at the store - I bring them home and within several days Ich has appeared. A lot of the tanks in general don't look healthy and the staff even commented that they seem to have "really sad looking fish" - didn't realize fish in other tanks had -multiple- dead fish in them. Got 2 stars because they at least game me store credit as the issue appeared this last time within the time frame of return. (no other fish in tank, tank was empty for 2 months prior to this - no other way of disease introduction :( )

Yikes. Nice store. Great selection. But wow. My experience at the register was pretty awful. I'm not sure if the cashier had a disability. He didn't seem to. But I purchased a leash. And signed up for rewards, and a transaction that should take about 2 minutes took almost 20. The poor guy clearly had something wrong with him and Idk why any manager would put him at the register. I literally had to yell my information. Perhaps he had a hearing disability. Idk. He didn't say. But I repeated every single line of my information at least 5 times before he got it right. I honestly felt awful for how loud I had to be to get him to hear me. So bizarre.

My daughters have been asking me for a cat for a while, so we have been looking around. We saw a little orange tabby, and when my daughter asked the skinny woman with glasses if she could see the cat, she explained the cat is currently under a health check. She should have left it at that, but she went on to say, "we only bring out the animals for people who are actually going to adopt them." Then she waslked away casually. I'm trying my best to think my skin tone had nothing to do with it, but I struggle considering the city I live in. Whatever her excuse for her ignorance, I found how she said what she did with such a casual tone insulting.

You really cannot treat a customer badly and expect them to return. We won't be spending another nickel at Petland. Cashier ID: EMP17937 was very rude and obnoxious along with her workmate. This is our second incident with her. I also discovered that you need to read the fine print on there purchasing bonus of buying 10, get the 11 free as an example. It's not a PETLAND incentive, it's base on the maker of the particular pet food. And each size and flavor is a new program. Don't waste your time with this big box store, support local business, check out Dexters at dexterspetshop.ca

I have never loved a Petland before like I have loved this one, well kept store with clean and friendly animals, staff greet you and were extremely helpful in giving advice and handling animals. A large part of the animals were engaging in human interaction, cages were well kept and they even had sand baths for those who needed them, something I have never seen in a petland before. You could tell that staff were interested in helping and showed genuine care and understanding that animals need. Extremely great place to get a pet!

My girlfriend and I have planned to buy a gecko for months. We saved up the money and bought every necessity to facilitate one. Once we walked into pet land to achieve a leopard gecko, we were instantly quizzed on geckos as if they were doubtful on our responsibility. A worker there named Brittany was very unhelpful and made us feel very unwelcoming. I made a big scene and talked to the manager and he wasn't as helpful either. We later drove to petsmart which had far better prices and had better staff. Not impressed.

Management (for both this store and the district) are very rude and unprofessional in person, on the phone and to both people and animals. The sick animals at this store get housed in behind the cats- very tight quarters and busy space. Petland as a whole does not do their best for the wellbeing of all animals- constantly picked up and prodded by children, a high number of animals in the habitats, ordering so many at a time. If you have the choice, do not choose Petland.

This place has consistently held all the needs for my Kitten, now an aged veteran of the crazy cat people. Needs and Treats are found to be plentiful, with reasonable pricing found along all ranges depending organic vs none-organic options. Atlas some things cannot be found here as some companies do not authorize certain places as resellers. So shopping around is something you might have to do. The staff is helpful in locating what you need, if they cannot carry it.

Not going to be returning to this Petland. The same employee was rude on multiple occasions. She was very rude to my Dad who could not hear her properly and then today the same girl (cashier) was less than pleased to answer my questions, which I asked in a respectful way, as I was almost out the door her and he coworker made rude sighing and said thank goodness their day was almost over. She was very unhelpful and patronizing.

Unfortunately I was classified as poor and maybe a thief. During a conversation with an employee, I asked how much one of the animals cost, she let me know that one was to expensive for me. Although they carry on conversation beware of the eye rolls with colleagues. Always best to dress up because they follow and watch. Very obvious. Never assume you know someone, not good for business. Loved the cashier, true sweetheart.

Petland is a welcoming pet store at on the first Friday of every month it is buy one get one aquarium fish day and it is well worth the monthly visit. the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and truly interested in their area of employment. Although some items are price a little bit high compared to other pet store options Petland is clean offers a 30-day return for credit on fish purchases.

Best customer service I've had in a long time! Everyone was so lovely and helpful, and one employee made sure I got some kitten cuddles in before I left. Completely made my day. I only wish the beta fish and some of the other animals were kept in larger more species-appropriate enclosures, but that's a company-wide issue. If you've gotta go to Petland, this is the best location!

We bought a ball python 2 months ago and just got a king snake today and let me tell you If you’re in the market for a reptile Gina needs to be your go to girl!! She’s made every transition as easy as possible was beyond informative and has helped us with any issues or questions we may have even after bringing home our babies!!

Here some new cat toys. Really this store has anything you need for almost every pet you can think of. I think some of the store was rearranged as somethings were in very different places since our last visit. Some more pets are available now also. Need litter, got/cat collars or leads. Hanster or bird food or supplies they have it all almost. Staff are quite friendly also.

Before getting my daughter's kittens we went there for help. I'd always had dogs so I had no idea what I was doing with cats, my daughter really wanted a cat. Hailey helped us out with everything!! She was amazing!!! The day we picked the kittens up we had to go and show her, and once again she was amazing. I will drive the extra time just for the amazing staff there

As my closest pet store, I've had fairly good experiences coming here for my regular pet based needs. Good selection for the needs of my animals, and plenty of variety if I need something new. Only issue I've found is sometimes the staff can be inattentive at times, but not enough to make me go to a different store. Overall good experience, and helpful enough.

Terrible service. Apologized to me 2 times for lack of communication on their end. The employee’s seem to have no basic structure. Seems very unresponsable that they are in charge on animal adoptions when they lack communication within and with customers. I had to waste 2 days back and forth gathering requests from them only to be given a very empty response.

The staff is friendly. I get to bring my Shiba Inu into the store and she harasses the bunnies and every other customer in the place. But she is cute as a button so that is good. Prices seem reasonable, so while I could probably "get it cheaper on Amazon" I just don't care. This place is good enough at what it does to get my business.

Great service! Manager on sight was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight about dogs. She helped answer any concerns and provided great service. Don't be put off by coming to this Pet land because a couple of rude and entitled customers believe they're right when they're clearly wrong. Been going to this Petland for years!

The staff seemed rude especially when asking if I could see a kitten. Couldn't find anyone in the store to assist at all. Usually any petland I have been too has been a great experience, can spend quite some time in the store browsing. However this was a quick 10 minutes and out. Go to somewhere with more friendly service for sure.

Enjoyable enough, I love seeing all the birds and fish. Unfortunately, the fish section seemed uneducated, they didn't know simple and common fish, and there were lots of dead ones. Personally, I feel that dead fish should be dealt with immediately, because it is detrimental to water quality. As a fish owner, it's sad to see...

Absolutely disgusting place dead fish and animals, dirty cages, no staff help whatsoever, misinformed management on care of animals. It feels like they don’t want to help you and if they do they don’t really want to sell anything to you. I saw a Betta fish dead with literal mold growing on it. AVOID GOING HERE AT ALL COSTS.

Alyssa is my pets hairstylist and she is the best I have ever seen. Loves dogs just about as much as I do and is very gentle and good with the dogs. As for the opinion on high prices I have to disagree they are very competitive and with the quality of service their prices are lower than the quality of care and knowledge.

Professionalism here does not exist, Manger is extremely rude, does not take care of herself by the obvious poor hygiene and has self mutation marks on her wrist. Take your business elsewhere. The only reason I even came here at all is because they are open an hour later then the usual location that I use.

Went into the store at around 7pm on Friday, there was a girl that worked in the insect section that was super helpful. She helped me pick out insects for a project for almost half an hour, even staying a few minutes past closing. Had a wonderful experience and really lovely service

This is the only petland I have ever been to that had healthy fish and knowledgeable staff. Talked to the manager for awhile about aquascaping and I could see they actually cared about the fish here. Do not buy fish at any other petland.
