This is our local pets at home store but we only ever use it when desperate much preferring to travel to Erdington branch. Where to start? The staff are rude and ignorant, you can ask for help and be totally ignored or get a very blunt sharp reply. The stock is hit and miss and they won't always order in for you either it all depends on their mood. I once went around the shop and had over £180 in items only to be told they were closing, as it was only 4:30pm I asked why, to be totally ignored so I asked again and the assistant just walked away. I was determined to get an answer so I followed her to the counter and said loudly why are you closing? She looked away and just said because... Totally rude and unprofessional. Another time I was making my way to the vets on the second floor as I got out of the lift the cleaner said where you going! what do you want! I said I have an appointment with the vet she said he ain't here! As I went back down the assistant in the store said I thought you had to see the vet? I told her what happened and she said really? Of course the vet is there I said forget it i'll find another vets I'm not wasting my time. TWICE I booked an apartment for my dogs in the Groom Room and on both occasions they cancelled at the last moment without examining why shen I popped in to ask they were rude and showed no shred of being sorry. All in all not a great store and it annoys me as I spend over £200 a month and almost £150 on having my dogs groomed every 12 weeks. At least we have a much better reception and treatment in the Erdington branch. By the way I'm not Asian lol.

We had a booster vaccination appointment for my cats today. We have been asked for the vaccination card which was not given at the first time in the previous appointment. It was very difficult to prove that we have not been given any cards at the first time, even I had to ask them to check the cameras. 3 ladies came and asked about the cards and all of them have not believed that we were telling the truth. Every time we have been asked to find in the house which was very humiliating being a paid customer. We have been treated like it was a free service as a favour. Secondly, we have been instructed regarding the breeding and surplus cats in the country. And after when i said, I know everything but still we have been pushed to get them neutered. This is my matter to afford my pets and have enough money in my bank. No staff should be telling the customer to have enough money to afford their pets. Non of their business. Being an Asian customer, the service we have received was not fair when we spent £200 for the same service. All customers should be treated equally despite the background etc. in other words at least do what you are getting paid for. I would appreciate if you suggest a package where we can get respect and professional service.

Furious with this store I am a vip member I use various stores around Birmingham to get my supply's for my chihuahua and my aquatics I have brought various fish and other items from the stetcford store however the last time I went to get some more fish I was challenged by one of the workers (Zara) who kept asking me several questions about my fish and my tanks ... I answered all her questions and she still was persistent into not letting my purchase a fish I drove to the castle vale branch and brought the fish I wanted without a fuss or personal questions Zara was asking I left the shop without arguing but when I left I realised how rediculious she had acted and I wasn't happy! I have done a formal complaint against her. Her attitude towards customers is beyond a joke. Awful customer services needs to be sacked.

Guess what was denied worming on the basis, that's its not possible too take infornation over the phone. I order it online all the time. Was hung up on. Staff member walked away from my mum without saying anything after she was challenged on the basis I've been served dog worming products like that before, and the worst thing is she didnt even transfer me too a suitable member of staff who actually is in charge of dispatching medicine- I quoted all relevant weights of dogs, even too the closest point as I had dog scales at home. I'm currently self isolating and this and put my dogs health and mines at risk because a staff member was acting arrogant, stuck up for no logical reason.

I asked a question about a product, had to repeat myself again as he wasn’t listening. Went I said I need to bring my dog in to keep his attention he hesitated to argue with me, while telling him he wasn’t giving the customer in front of him any customer service he didn’t have the decency to listen to me. He apologised but he didn’t mean it. If you want any attention take your pet with you or expect to be ignored!

brought my worming treatment from them many times panacure syringe type as it cures worms and lung worm,so asked if they had any and was asked, how heavy is your dog,it's in a big syringe and you use the click on the plunger to corrispond to your dogs weight so i have two very small dogs and it usually treats them both,ones about2.5 kilo and the others about 3 kilo,i need to know the exact weight he said,then he did not know if it treated lungworm,then said it's a perscription drug so cant have it,wasted trip so now i get it from amazon no perscription and it does treat lungworm,i do find pets at home very expensive with a bad service

one individual at the front counter was quite rude to us, basically called me a liar, fortunately her colleagues were much better help including the lady that helped us she was lovely, and apologised for any mistake she made shame all weren’t more informative about what is needed for aquarium though we spent nearly an hour there. Recommend sheldon branch way more helpful, tell you what you need and when from the first point of meeting. Stechford is closer to me but don’t think i’ll be going back there again. Time to shake up those that have been working there for a while…just saying.

I went in to get a quote about getting a haircut for my little Yorkie. I couldn't believe the price. £38! Nope as much as I adore her, it was far too much. I decided to look at the prices of other things in store. Wow talk about expensive. I couldn't believe how expensive some items were. I'm not cheap, but even I wouldn't pay half the prices they were willing to charge. The staff on duty weren't much better either. Standing around not being helpful or simply looking bored. Not a great first time (and possibly last) visit.

Staff at tills very friendly and knowledgeable but took our puppy for his first ever puppy groom and the staff in there were very nasty even though we told them our puppy was in the nipping stage due to teething she was very abrupt about our boy think she thought she was a behaviourist really us how to raise our puppy.he was quite distressed when we brought him home.she still told us he would need to go back again.not on your life think this groomer needs some people skills

Very unhappy with the service from a colleague. They feel the need to pressure you into making life changing decisions and want you to do things at their convenience. I am appalled that considering they have a duty of care towards the animal the idea of potentially conning vulnerable and gullible people takes priority. As well as this having a different opinion to the vet is disliked with them acting rude in return this is shocking and they need to do better.

Really good my daughters dwarf hamster was given to them bubbles she was dying.a lot of tears from my daughter pets at home gave a very excellent service we had bubbles cremated may I say a massive thank you to hayley vet nurse who is outstanding and compassionate .she was very supportive and explained the whole process.she us our hero..thank you from aaliyah bubbles owner.we left a gift for you Hayley today as a thankyou

Despite its compact floorspace, the aquarium offer a well varied and well stocked selection of tropical and temperate fish. A little more formal than my local pets at home (they ask loads of questions about what you have and set up you have even although it's already on file as I'm a member) and that's awkward but I guess they are just doing their jobs??? Anyhoo plenty of fish to be bought so I'm happy.

They used to be good but don't do encore for dogs , cat only and don't sell medication to help dogs constipation they said only vets can help so i went to pet shop in erdington and they had johnson constiption powder. Why they don't stock encore like wiko,asda,tesco and all the leading stores do and they are a well know pet store.

Whenever I need anything for my cat I always come here. The staff are very polite and professional. Always have answers to my questions regarding how to look after my cat and what to do in certain situations. The price here is reasonable to. A big plus point for me is the parking, I never had any problem finding parking.

Good place to get stuff for pets, usually have some good sales on! Staff are very moody and can be rude at times, especially the lady at the pets at home vets upstairs, she will literally ignore you when you’re standing at her desk, also the waiting time is ridiculous, even when you show up on time to your appointment.

Went in to purchase an add on for my dogs retractable lead and buy a harness for him. Lauren , the sales lady who seemed to get me every time was able to answer all my questions . I did have to go back but only because my dog is a little fattie and needed the biggest size harness. Love this store and will always return

Ok for a quick visit... They dont always have everything in stock... But are willing to order them for u to pick up after a few days... Friendly staff always at hand to help... I get my cat food and kitten milk from here... Toys are reasonably priced... Cat brushes litter trays and food trays are good too.

Went to buy some goldfish... I don't understand why they ask so many questions about the tank and what is at home. Surely anyone can lie about the tank size and take as many fish they like? They won't have a clue about what's really happening at home. It's almost as if they don't want to sell the fish?

Due to a miscomunication error at the Vets (not on Vicky's part), Vicky went above & beyond to find a resolution. Her customer service skills were great and she kept me informed every step of the way until all was sorted. I'm happy and my dog is happy to be able go for his daily walks again.

Tried to buy 2 small fish and was refused because i already have 2 small goldfish and 2 really tiny fish which i dont know the name of and i told them i had a 19 litre tank and was still refused and i would not recommend this store and there criteria is a joke just for 2 small fish abit ott.

It's a large busy store with a vets upstairs. You can buy rabbits, hamsters and fish here along with pet accessories, pet food and all the usual pet supplies. There never seem to be many staff around and apart from a few exceptions the pet food seems to be higher end and very expensive.

Always a good place to get pet supplies, very helpful staff especially Emma who gave very good customer service and didn't make us feel like we were a bother at all even though we took up alot of her time. Reasonable prices, good advice and great service what more can you ask for ??

Lovely place.I always take my dog with me and staff is very friendly. Always find everything what I am looking for. Great to have a loyalty card as well so you can collect points and get vouchers .A lot of choice for dog snacks, beds and collars (that's what I mainy shop for).

It has most things you need for a pet, but at double the price! I popped into Home Bargains next door and got cat scratcher, cat bed, cat thermal bedding for half the price. Quality is great of my items. If they could make their prices more competitive it would be better.

The store was clean & tidy. Did find it annoying that the dig harnesses were in 3/4 different places making it awkward when trying to compare. Also had to go searching for staff to ask question. Plus side staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

Great place to visit for your pets. Great staff. Pet friendly. They more or less have everything you need for your pet. A vet, grooming, health plans just to name a few. Loved it because it saves time, not having to travel to different places for different things.

love this place looking for things to buy for the pets. Plus seeing some of the pets they sell. Vets are now inside the shop and they offer a grooming service. Staff are knowledgeable about the food and flea tick and wormers. They have live food for reptiles.

Excellent selection of all things pet related, vets upstairs and dog grooming place there too. Only lost a star because the traffic all around the place is AWFUL. Dogs are welcome. Good selection of live animals here too with all the information needed.

A stray mackerel tabby found us on New Year’s Day and Emma and the girls were totally brilliant. Gave us loads of advice and guidance. Brilliant free parking, great choice of products. Husband fell in love with cat so guess I now have a fur ball son!

Bit pricey but obviously it is a brand well known to pet owners. They have pretty much everything there that you may need for a pet, new or old. From dog leads to dog beds. From hamsters to rabbits. From cat toys to cat scratch posts.
