This is a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Birmingham, and features a large array of independent stores, this building was once a cinema and the sloping walkway reflects this as it has stairs on one end and a access entrance on the other. It's best to visit this shopping arcade in mid-afternoon in the week and when you do visit make sure you look up at the artwork which covers the whole ceiling of the arcade from one end to the other. I love looking in the windows of this classy shopping experience.

SHOP FOR THINGS THAT ARE UNIQUE! Piccadilly Arcade has some brilliant places to shop. SMITHSONIA for jewellery, cards, wrapping paper, gifts of many sorts for all ages and they're all very different. ONYX sells jewellery and undertakes repairs and re-sizing. FACULTY sells great tea and coffee and, made on the premises, gorgeous cakes. There's also a barbers, a shoe repairer, a florist and a place to get your eyebrows threaded and your nails manicured.

I love walking through here. A variety of shops. Good memories. I bought my partner a lovely pen for our first Christmas together. My baby has some nice clothes from there. Sometimes there are popup shops. I try to avoid the sweet shop but b4 I was diagnosed with diabetes I used to frequent the shop. I love this place

Cute little Victorian arcade in the middle of the city centre, very close to Grand Central and New Street station. It has quite a few small independent businesses in it, all worth a visit. Faculty coffee is nice, the tailors are excellent and there's a lovely little florist too. Definitely worth a mooch around.

  • Phil Hall

Great little arcade. Lovely ceiling with stunning artwork. Some lovely shops. Smithsonia sell a great array of cards plus gifts etc. Onyx jewellers will repair most jewellery and the service is excellent. The owner will complete a lot of repairs whilst you carry on shopping.

  • Steph Dearden

Worth a visit if in Birmingham as it is home to some independent gift shops and a rather nice cafe. good little cut through from New Street to the train station. Always looks lovely and recently had some refurbishment work done.

  • Dani Dobreva

Stunning architecture. It's amazing feeling to walk into an old building. Connecting both Stephenson Street and New Street is Piccadilly Arcade, a wonderful shopping arcade that dates from around 1910.

  • Neil Campbell

Painted Victorian arcade running between New Street and the station. They really make an effort to dress it up at Xmas. Home to the best coffee in Birmingham in the shape of Faculty

  • John Hall

The two stores in Picadilly Arcade that I used are Cotswold Outdoor and Smithsonian. The arcade provides a sheltered environment for several different stores.

  • Mathieu Leroy

It looks like a gorgeous place with average shops. It's also rather short. It reminded me successfully of London's arcades but it's no way near as good.

  • Wendy Russell

Clean and tidy passage way through to the high street. Unfortunately nothing was open for me to look at, so window shopping is all I can do …

  • Sara Cartwright

Attractive, quaint, shopping arcade from New Street to rear of New Street station. A lovely selection of mainly independent businesses.

  • Nige Jones

Pretty little arcade that has some of my favourite shops. Cotswold outdoors, Smithsonia, Picadilly Jewellers and the Picadilly cobbler.

  • Tanshi Kanchan

If you want to try what original bubble tea tastes like then this is the place. The ambience of this place is very cute and relaxing.

Recently refurbished, and a rare, happy reminder of when Birmingham had a 'proper', town-like commercial centre...
