I didn't care for this place at all. It was surprising to me that they did not seem to have any name brand items, given that items are bought from the public and not donated. It was a big let down. It made me miss My Sister's Closet more than ever. If you remember that store and are hoping this might be your replacement, don't bother.

I brought my daughters BRAND NEW clothes (with tags) only purchased within the last 6 months and told me it would be almost a 2 hour wait. They offered me $7 for Brand new Nikes and when I picked up the bags that they wanted nothing from multiple new tagged items were missing!!! They stole about $75 worth of items. Shady place.

the womens clothing consisted of three brands: pretty little thing, fashion nova, and Shein ranging from 5-15$ so if fast fashion is your thing this is the place for you, otherwise don’t waste your time. plus their idea of trendy is tacky shein clothing and the quality of their womens tops is such a joke.

This is one of my favorite places to thrift in San Diego! They have loads of cute and trendy clothing, accessories, and shoes. Sizes often run small, but there is a wide selection of clothing across different sizes and styles regardless. Just remember to size up usually! ️ …

Good selection although some prices were just too high for items that had a lot of wear. I did get a good pair of Lululemon leggings for 25 bucks in great condition, you just have to search. The staff were not friendly, almost standoffish - definitely a huge downside/mood killer.

  • Chris K

Really nice staff, just not sure what they are looking for. Brought in some never worn brand name shoes and some that were worn a couple of times, + clothes with tags on and their certified buyer kept 2 shirts from old navy and 2 from TJ max… LOL but okay. Thanks for the $8.

Don't sell your clothes here if you are expecting a fair profit (If you think your gently used designer clothes is worth $2). Might as well sell your clothes online or donate it to a non-profit organization. You are just wasting your time and gas. That is sad.

I love this Plato's Closet! The staff is always friendly and helpful, plus the selection is large, in style, and very affordable. I have sold clothes a few times and every time the buyer is always fair. I love it here! A hidden gem for second hand clothes.

if you’re looking to sell, don’t waste your time. i waited 2 hours for them to offer me FOUR dollars and i brought in 2 big bags of clothes in good condition. as far as buying, you can find some good stuff but a lot of stuff is overpriced from shein.

  • Nahomi Vazquez

I love it here. Good prices for clothes. Selling clothes here is a little eh. Plato’s and places like this for them buying your clothes and then selling it in the store, they don’t usually buy much… besides that, I recommend buying clothes here!

  • Abigayle Morgan

This is THE best Plato’s I have ever shopped in! (“Slaydos” if you will ). When entering the store, you feel very welcomed and all the employees are so incredibly sweet and genuine. Lead Cam is always carrying a positive attitude and is so

Terrible costumer service. All tenagers with a terrible actitud the girls at the front desk. They don't want to buy any of your clothes. Even you sale name brands and brand new. Terrible judgment. Other Plato's in LA. Always buy my clothes.

Went in with tons of name brand items or nwt. Only sold one name brand shirt and some trendy champion men's shoes. They gave me $5 for it. Save yourself a trip and sell your items at a market, garage sale or on fb marketplace. Spent more on

  • Melissa Farlow

I went during their grand opening (June 12) and when I went, I went specifically for athletic brands. They had an incredible selection of brand name clothing like they advertise (Patagonia, Lululemon, Nike, Gymshark) for 1/3 of the price of

  • Deena Kelley

Not with it. I don’t know how they determine what they buy, but I gave them two big bags of brand name stuff, some with the tags still on them and they only took 8 items for 20 bucks. Had to lug back the two bags. Save the trip and sell on

I called ahead to check the wait time for selling clothes, the girl said 5-15 minutes. So I show up 15 minutes later and the girl tells me she’s about to take her break so it will be an extra 30 minutes. She was finishing up the only order

  • Kirstine Scmidt

The concept is great and I do find something to buy however, the store is so dusty, dirty, and not organized! The bottom of shirts or dresses or anything that touches the ground is covered in dust & dirt! It ruins the clothes, stains them.

  • Jinny Chueng

This is a very scary and horrible store! ! ! They donated the clothes I wanted to sell without my consent! ! I brought some clothes that I wanted to sell and the clerk asked me to contact me later due to the long queue. At 4.40pm that day,

  • Chloe Shields

Love this place! The clothes are much more stylish compared to places like Goodwill, where half the clothes are straight out of the 80s. The prices are quite decent too (sometimes even cheaper than Goodwill). My partner never used to like

Most of the girls there has terrible attitudes. Its odd for them to act so entitled working at a thrift store. Dont see how acting that way creates a pleasant shopping or selling experience for the customers but each time i’ve been there

  • Michael Evans

This was my first time at the clarimont location. I’ve been and sold to the Escondido, Las Vegas, El Cajon. This location was the worst. I brought in name brand clothes like guess, scotch and soda, top man, champion, Calvin Kline kappa,

  • Jaren Michael

I came here with my sister. We both loved the store and found dope clothes, but the reason I’m writing this is because I walked in with a dog in my arms (most clothing stores don’t like the idea of dogs) and had no problems. The workers

I use to work at the competitor of platos closet. Which is called my best friends closet. They aren’t in CA yet. But they should be. Better quality stuff, better costumer service. I went to sell today at I was really disappointed w the

Organized by color, size, and type! The cleanliness makes it very fun to shop here + the exchange rates are great! Esp compared to similar stores like Buffalo Exchange. The staff are sweet, too! No appointment necessary, so sometimes

  • Jenneva B

They have so much inventory in fast fashion brands, its pretty disappointing. I came in here for the first time and i exprected to find at least one cool vintage piece and it was literally a sea of shein, forever 21, fashion nova and

  • Starrs'n Wonderland

This was my first time in here and let me just say that I am disappointed in myself for not checking it out sooner. This place has a great variety of women's clothes and shoes.... Small store however, great selection and great prices!

  • Jennie Loftus

While shopping at this location for 30 minutes I could over hear the staff talking badly about the customers, bashing millennials (their own customer demographic & probably their management team), and than one of them said they where

  • Kylie Huang

My friend was trying on pants in the fitting room, and she stepped on a sharp pin that was lying on the ground. It went all the way into her foot, and she was sitting out in the main area of the fitting room, foot bleeding, while I

  • j camacho

Staff was friendly enough. The thing is it all depends on the buyer you get. At this location I brought in 4 bags and they took nothing. Went to the El Cajon location with the same 4 bags and they took 29 items. Go figure.

  • Krista Hansen

So very disappointed. I came here to sell today, and They LOST 2 pairs of my boots within the hour . !!!? This place is dirty, and completely unorganized. There was no manager on site . What a joke..just dont !

  • Sarah Lawens

I went in to sell clothes. They stole 3 brand new limited edition Starbucks mugs and cups out of my stuff when I wasn’t looking and kept it because when I got my items home, none of the cups were in there…

  • Dayana Rodriguez

Don’t come to this place to sell your clothes is not worth it!! Buffalo exchange gives you more. For 8 items from Zara in good condition they were offering $24. Never coming here again

  • Alexa Patino

I loved the clothes they had! Nothing was raggedy and everything was stylish and organized. And Taylor at the front desk was so nice! She was the sweetest worker there:)

  • Chem Eng

It was my first time and I just realized it was true when someone says first impressions are last impressions. Most workers have a strange attitude!!

  • Shannon Downer

I've sold clothes here about 4 or 5 times now. Compared to Buffalo Exchange, Plato's Closet generally takes more stuff but gives less cash.

  • N

Found it when I searched Buffalo exchange on google map. Clothes are aligned by color which is really helpful! I get to see and try all

  • A Universal Woman

They don't really buy or sell nice things here. So don't come looking for higher end treasures. This is a teeny bopper store.

  • Carlos Galan

Great customer service highly recommended it here my daughters found some vacation outfits on a budget thank you.

  • Endy Martinez
