Update - we used these guys again in 2020. Naturally we were in a jam again - this time we were moving across the country and got scammed. Big time. We decided to throw our things into storage for time being and only trusted this company. As always, we were great service, transparency and a quick therapy session lol. Was scheduled to move on July 5th and had movers cancel on me at the last minute. We found out end of day on July 3rd and July 4th is a holiday so we were screwed. I was actually referred to Portland Movers Company by another moving service who couldn’t do the job which is always a good sign. I ended up connecting with Natalia, one of the moving coordinators, and she agreed to help us *and* found movers with a truck on the same day which was a godsend. There was a delay on arrival time which was expected on a holiday weekend but my state was pretty fragile considering everything. So while I proceeded to have yet another extra dramatic panic attack with the delay, Natalia calmed me down and gave me as much information as she could. She’s seriously amazing. She even called back to check in a couple of hours later. We weren’t finished yet because my building’s elevator broke with several of my items trapped inside . She empathized and immediately made me laugh. How she pulled that off, I don’t know but that’s okay. Anybody who is reading this should know that maintenance didn’t show up to fix the elevator for 3 hours, so at this point, one of my movers was providing me with what I’ve decided to refer to as free therapy lol. All while taking the delay in stride while I tried to keep it together. Speaking of which, my movers were fantastic. Professional, wrapped and unwrapped everything, were efficient... considering they had a very full day (we were the last stop), I have no idea how they had the strength to keep going but they did. Technically strong movers should be expected, but let’s be honest, these workers are human and I expected them to be famished. That was not the case at all. A special shout out goes to Christian. He was lifting and wrapping very heavy objects, instructing his coworkers to ensure safety/efficiency/no damage was done. He is very level headed, patient, and has above average standards when it comes to his work. Long story long, I’m very happy with everyone who was involved in making this move happen. Thank you guys so much for accepting me at the last minute and for helping to keep me calm, all while moving my items quickly. Will use you again and will always recommend you to others. Terrible customer service! I was trying to arrange a purchase of a safe. I called them and asked if they could move a 400lbs safe from a business to a residence 15 minutes away. I gave general locations. The sellers business had a forklift and could put it directly onto the truck. I did not want it delivered inside. I wanted it dropped on the curb. The gentleman that answered told me it would be no problem. That it would be easy. I told him I would call back with addresses and a picture of the pickup locations driveway so I can get an exact quote. He said ok. I go to make the purchase and get info and call the movers back. I explain to the lady that answered that I'm calling to get a quote for moving a safe from a business. She says they don't move large single items. I said it is only 400lbs not too big and 2 people can easily move it cause it is on wheels. She says we only move residences. Like boxing stuff up and moving furniture. I told her it IS coming to a residence. She says again we do not move single items. I say when I called earlier the guy said it would be no problem. She asked who I spoke to. I say that I don't know because he did not give his name (She never gave her name either). She says she has no idea who I could have spoken with, but she will ask her supervisor about this. I tell her ok and that this was very unfortunate. I ended up calling around and getting quotes for $500-$600 average. I settled on a company for $600 because they were available next day. Portland Movers never even called me back. Horrible. I cannot believe they were unwilling to make $600 for driving to a location. Getting loaded by someone else. Drive 15 minutes and push 1 thing down a ramp. $600!! For 30 minutes of work. I feel like this was all handled very unprofessionally. No single items rule is a very close minded rule when it could be very profitable. Bad rule for business. Not getting back to me shows me they don't care about customer satisfaction and do not care about getting future business. Which they will never have from me and I will tell people I know to stay away. Others beware!

This is one of those “I’d give them zero stars if I could” review. Other than make an appointment to move, every other thing they did along the way was done poorly, or rudely or both. From the time they showed up and would not park where they needed to (outside an apartment, rules exist), to not listening to anything I was trying to show them. To not having proper moving equipment. I mean, who sends 3 guys to move someone from a 5th story apartment without enough moving pads, any mattress straps, an extra dolly, etc. I mean, the movers were nice enough people and if there had even been 1 person sent who was competent and could organize the other – that would make for a reasonably good solution. But no, this was the dog and pony show. I will save you all the drama, but my very nice items were mistreated and beautiful antiques scraped up, from them improperly stacking furniture (which I pointed out and asked them to protect). And as soon I showed them the scratches, they were in denial and said they saw it there before. And basically when the customer pays, they sign something absolving them of any damages. I wanted to pay them, since they did move my stuff, but ALSO wanted to address the damage they did to my antique furniture. But it was not possible to do both, since they won’t leave until you pay – and believe me, you’ll be more than ready to get rid of them. I did call the manager the following week to discuss the issues. She apologized, acted surprised like this has never happened before and said they would have the movers reach out to apologize directly. Which never happened. Not that I need that from them, but again, they do not do what they say. There are other moving companies in Portland – please take your business elsewhere.

Had a great experience moving with this company! John and Barry were extremely efficient while being careful with my stuff. There was a slight hiccup at the start (arrival was scheduled between 9-10, and I received a call closer to 10 that there was an oil problem with the moving van they were trying to resolve, making their arrival around 10:30) but I appreciated that they kept me in the loop and they figured out the problem quickly, and more than made up for the late time by working so hard! They also wore masks at all times when inside. Really nice guys. Another great aspect of this experience was having a specific person attached to my move in terms of scheduling, confirmations, any questions I had. She gave me her direct phone number for contact and was very knowledgeable and helpful. As far as pricing it seemed fair. A flat fee per hour, including drive time. My studio apartment moving from Richmond area to Sellwood took almost exactly 2 hours, and I paid around $325. Last thing: their van is on the smaller side which was great when moving in the city. The last moving company I used had a giant van that was difficult to park and caused me a lot of stress. This time, the whole experience was stress free.

We hired Portland Movers to unload our moving trailer after shipping our items by freight from out of state. The moving company screwed up and despite booking a "guaranteed delivery time" the trailer did not arrive on time and we had to contact Portland Movers at the very last minute (15 minutes before our contracted job!!) to reschedule. Natalya and Christian were incredibly gracious and went above and beyond figuring out how to get folks out to us when our belongings eventually showed up. When they got on site, the team was so friendly, professional, and careful with our belongings which had been haphazardly stacked in the back of a truck. We have a few large, especially heavy pieces of furniture and they never complained and took special care to not ding the lovely wooden floors/doorframes in the house we are renting. Moving in the midst of a global pandemic and rampant wildfires was super stressful, and we are so grateful to Portland Movers Company for helping alleviate the added stress of our stuff not arriving on time. 5 stars simply does not do justice to the great customer service, quality of work, and incredible kindness they delivered.

Just to start - I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Christian, JB, and their crew were absolutely amazing. We originally Portland Movers to load a POD when we wee moving out of our house of thirty years. Christian and his crew worked extremely hard and were very protective of our furniture and belongings. The first POD they loaded required them to work very late and they stayed until the job was done. I called them again about a week later to move furniture, and this was the week of the largest snowstorm ever to hit Portland. Because our house had been sold and the new owners were moving in, we absolutely had to vacate our house. With 10" of snow on the ground, they still loaded and moved our furniture enabling us to be out of the house in time. the city of Portland was completely closed and they could easily have blamed the weather for not showing up, but they braved the weather and the roads to get us out on time. I am extremely grateful to them.

So grateful for this company! I originally booked my move with All My Sons a week in advance, and on moving day (June 10th), they pretty much told me that they were too busy with other moves and that I needed to pay their workers overtime if I wanted them to move me on the day that I booked, or even the next day. All My Sons was already the most expensive rate that I had come by. I cancelled my move with them and called Portland Movers. I explained my situation to them and asked if it were possible for them to move me out of my apartment the following day (June 11th). They guaranteed that they would come by between 8-9am on the 11th, and they did! Christian and Isaiah were very friendly, and careful when moving everything, as well as wrapped up everything that could get damaged. It was amazing of them to come by at the last minute. They're reasonably priced, they're honest, and they don't overbook. I highly recommend their services.

We used Portland Movers Company back in November and they were wonderful! Their scheduler Natalya was a delight to work with and they got us in when several other places were booked out. I found their pricing quite reasonable and on move day they did a great job. They arrived on time and did a great job getting our stuff out, including protecting the floors and property. There was some stuff I hadn’t packed up or had thrown into ikea bags, so I wasn’t sure they’d be able to move, but they got pretty much everything and I really appreciated that extra effort. The other side of the move was great, too. They got everything done in the same timeframe I was originally quoted, so there weren’t any unexpected charges. I wish I remembered their names, but the guys who worked on the move were all so kind and professional. I highly recommend Portland Movers Co! From price to quality and experience, they were a 10/10.

This was my second time using Portland Movers Co. They emptied my 3-bedroom house into a storage unit last October then, after a 3-month postponement due to COVID-19, moved everything back into a 16' truck last weekend for an out-of-state move. The recent team, led by Christian, arrived on time at 8:30am and finished in just over 3 hours. Chris employed serious skills to fit everything in and secure it safely for a multi-day journey. He and Isaiah maintained an efficient system with assistance from my partner and me and a couple more workers at the end (they didn't expect assistance, we were just eager to help). I was only charged for 2 movers and felt the price was definitely worth the effort and result. I've made several painful moves with bigger companies that resulted in broken items and hidden charges. PMC is honest and proficient and their movers are fun to work alongside. HIre them!

Working with Portland Movers was easy, affordable, and largely pleasant. They were professional, answered all of my questions over the phone in advance, had clearly intelligible rates, and came to my home quickly to give me the most accurate estimate of my moving costs and time. They did follow-up work calling to confirm that my move was still going forward, they were accessible over the phone when a question arose for me, and they arrived at my home at the appointed hour with an extra hand on deck free of charge. They were fast and responsive to changing conditions, they overcame whatever slight glitches that may have happened along the way, the moments that none of us can plan for, and they were flexible with respect to meeting my needs as I expressed them. They're good local movers for a fair price.

The movers were quick! They didn't waste time. They walked through the house to assess what they had to work with and got to it. I appreciate that since time equals money. They even made a stop to deliver furniture to another location! I would suggest for future moves the following: wrap mattresses before placing them in the truck. Be sure to read labels on boxes even when you're dog tired. The guys placed pretty much everything in the corresponding room but I had a handful of heavy boxes placed in the garage when they actually were to go to the assigned room listed on the box. The sofa was taken apart and reassembled but put together incorrectly so it doesn't recline properly. Other than that, awesome service!!!! Price was competitive as well.

I can’t say enough how satisfied I was with the service provided by this company. From the initial request and conversation with Natalia to the completion of the move by two very polite and professional movers, I couldn’t be happier. Movers were careful, quick and placed my belongings neatly and strategically in my new residence. And they did this at a very competitive price. If I ever need a moving company in the future, this will be the one and I highly suggest if you need a move, call this one first or last but I’ll guarantee Portland Movers Company will be the one you want to deal with! I normally don’t provide reviews except when exemplary but I had to with this one.

This was my 1st time using packing/moving services! From the get go Natalya was incredible, she was able to fit my move into her schedule despite me having called her only a week before my move. The quote given was the most reasonable when compared with some other movers in Portland. On the day of the move, Eladio and Christian showed up and both were incredibly hardworking, respectful and responsible with my items/furniture. The move also was very organized and finished in a timely manner! Natalya made sure to check up before, during and after the move and I could tell she genuinely cared about my move. I would definitely recommend them and use their services again.

Each person we had help us with our move was great! The scheduler helped explained the process and was able to answer any questions that bubbled up. On move day, the 4 movers were professional, thorough and fast! They would point out any dings on furniture or in the house as they worked. They were personal and hard working! They moved our 3-bedroom house with a 30-minute drive to the other location in 4-hours. The crew made our move day so much easier. It was affordable and worth every penny! Starting from Natalya to all the crew members who helped with the move were just awesome. Christian was the coordinator of the group and he managed the crew very well. He came in and got everything organized very systematically. All the folks worked tirelessly and took special care to protect the furniture. They were very cooperative even at the end of the move to help us take some stuff to dump. And above all, they were very patient and friendly even if we had to switch plans for some piece of furniture. Thank you for making our move as stress free as possible.

We needed a POD loaded for our move. We had already packed over three dozen boxes (large, medium and small) and had two rooms of furniture. Chris and Nicholas showed up on time (having called us the day before to confirm date, time and address). They were awesome! Hard working, professional, responsible, and knew exactly how to pack up that POD. We were worried all our belongings wouldn’t fit, but Chris reassured us it wouldn’t be a problem. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality move without any headaches.

This was our first time hiring movers and let me say we couldn't be happier with our decision to use Portland Movers Co. Everyone was very professional from the administrative aspects to the movers. Our quote request was returned same day and we were scheduled within a short window with no issue. The movers were prompt, friendly, and efficient. We had a fair amount of stuff (but probably still considered a small move) and our new place had two sets of stairs but the job was done surprisingly quickly. If I lumped in all the movers I've had in life prior to Portland Movers Company (PMC) Into one entity and compared them to PMC, PMC would win hands down. They listened to our concerns about moving items and past issues. They carefully wrapped items that you wouldn't normally think to wrap and as soon as I saw this knew I was in the right hands. Soft wood was wrapped, my appliances were wrapped, etc, etc, etc. They went as far as to take boxes and use to protect edges. I would definitely use them again and HIGHLY recommend them to everyone.

Both of the movers were efficient, professional and overall provided excellent customer service. Had a great experience with these guys last week. My move just happened to be scheduled on Friday, 12/23, the day after we got hit by an ice/snow storm. They offered to reschedule my move for a day sooner and were able to move a spacious 1-bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff into my new place in just 2 hours. The two guys were friendly and very careful with my stuff. Great price too. Really appreciate! To anyone questioning whether or not to hire movers, just do it, you (and your friends) will be so happy you did it.

I have been using Christian and Portland Movers for the last 3 moves and I have zero complaints and tons of praise. We had them help us move the large items in our house and felt like it was completely worth it. I called three companies for quotes and the woman in the office was the only one of the three that didn’t seem pushy, just gave me the information I needed and didn’t blow up my phone after I talked to her like the other companies did. The communication was good with them letting us know the job before us took longer than expected so we had a good idea when they’d show up, and our items were handled with care.

I have moved households 7 times in the last 10 years (military etc), so when this one came up I was dead-set on not doing the hard labor. Portland Moving Company showed up, and the team got all my large items loaded and unloaded exactly how I imagined a smooth move would go! Great rates, even worked with us to save some money by recommending less trucks and movers based on our situation. Another company would definitely NOT do that! A++, will call them again in a few years when I have to move again!!!!

Portland Movers sent us 2 strong young men and a truck to load us up and move us from SE Portland to Beaverton. They showed up on time and wasted no time getting right to business! We went with this company because of the good reviews, and we were STILL blown away by just how good they were. The movers were incredibly efficient - both with time and with space in the truck. Their arrival window we signed up for was 9-10am. By 9:55, the entire truck full of 2-bedroom house was loaded up and heading to the second location Both the guys were super nice and responsible with our stuff, and all my interactions with Natalya from the office were great too!

We are moving to Tennessee and our upack trailer couldn’t be brought to the house to be loaded. We hired Portland Movers to move our house belongings into a moving truck and then drove to the upack trailer yard and moved it from the trucks into the moving trailer. It was hot and they worked so hard! Everything was well packed and was solid in that trailer. Christian was the crew chief and we couldn’t have asked for a more professional team!!!

We recently hired Portland Movers for a local move and they were great. Setting it up was easy and they were responsive. The movers were professional and took good care of our belongings. They wrapped furniture in moving blankets and cling wrap to protect it. The pricing was reasonable and clear. My goodness they were the best! We used PODS for an out-of-state move. On time! Professional and VERY SMART. Space was limited... balance and distribution of weight was paramount... what a great team! Their Methodical execution down 3 floors and then 300 feet to the PODS unit in the pouring rain... was nothing short of AMAZING... I truly can’t say enough.... don’t use anyone else!!! Christian and his team arrived with lots of energy and positivity. They were extremely professional and fast working. We assumed that they would take 3 to 4 hours to completely unload and bring our stuff up to the third-floor. However in 2 1/2 hours they were done! Explained everything really well and then was available for questions via text. The guys showed up on time and worked fast… was impressed with their care and professionalism. Christian and 3 other hard workers did a great job. They worked non-stop. They protected things well with furniture pads, and stacked them well in the truck. They protected banisters and doors in both houses with pads, so we ended up with no "dinged up" walls of doors. They even used booties when inside the new house to keep the new floors clean. We will definitely use them for any future moves.

This was my first time hiring movers, and from the coordinator being the most informative, specific and pleasant person we spoke with while gathering quotes, to the timeliness, sweetness and efficiency of the team on move day, I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. they moved two apartments back to back and delivered to our new home in a flat 3 hours. We have used the Portland Movers Company twice now and we can’t recommend them enough. They move your furniture like prima ballerinas. They are so incredibly professional, careful, and hard working. It was the best moving experience of my life! The movers arrived early and finished early, they were professional, kind and so fast— we were moved in two hours! Not one thing broken, they were incredibly careful and kind and did I mention fast!? They put me at ease with their calm demeanors, expertise and general courtesy. Cannot recommend them enough. I had a friend refer me to the Portland Movers Company. They said each time they used the service, it was a great experience. I have only scheduled my appt, but I can already tell these people manage their business properly. It has been great communication and clearly explaining the process. I can't say enough good things about the crew that packed my Relocubes! They were reassuring, competent and thorough. I was impressed that they were thoughtful in their use of moving blankets and stretch wrap, allowing me to return some of what I bought to Home Depot. The crew was friendly and hard working. We used their service to move my brother from Portland to Veneta, OR. They were very polite and motivated, quoting us a great price (much less than other movers). They did a great job and even helped to move their car during the job. I cannot say enough about the service. So happy with this move! It took a total of two hours for them to move my one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom home. They were careful and considerate with all of my things and were delightful to work with. Everything was well coordinated and so affordable and I would 100% use them again!

Can’t believe how fast and efficient our move was. We’ve never hired movers before but our crew was so amazing and quick that we actually had the time (and energy) to unpack our entire house the same day as our move. They’ve got a customer as long as we’re in Portland. Thanks guys!!!
