This police department in Portland really sucks bad. Someone can commit a crime here and most if not all get away with it here. I was at the Wal Mart at 82nd and Holgate on June 20. 2017, minding my own business only and a black man who I think was named (Darius) (heard someone call him this) came over and started talking to me. He had 40-50 pounds of meat with him. I had 3 sacks with me that were cloth and he did not have any with him and asked if he could have one of mine. I gave him one that I had left over from my shopping and he asked if I would help him put the 40-50 pounds of meat in the sack I had given him. It did not work and the cloth sack ripped. Then he went into Wal Mart and got 3 paper sacks and we both tried to put the meat into those sacks and they also ripped. He got real mad and started getting super angry and started cursing outside the Wal Mart. Because he was so mad-he then proceeded to pinch my boob and did so and pinched my boob real hard. Then he started to touch my private area starting with a V and I pulled my hand away. I was very mad but was afraid of this black man.I went over to the other door and sat for about 5-10 minutes and saw a security guard who had just pulled up and it was between 11:30 am and 12 pm. I told her this story and she called it in to her superior officer. He asked if I was hurt and she asked me and I said no because I hurt just a tiny bit but was not hurting at that time. I was going to call the news station here in town but decided against it due to personal and security reasons. So I got home by Tri Met Lift which I take because I am in a walker and am mentally and physically ill and have to use it since I am unable to drive at all due to these problems. I emailed the Portland Police Department and called you guys and reported what had happened on June 20 Tuesday 2017. It said that you guys at the police department online would call me probably to get more information about this incident. You guys never called me AT ALL. You did not give a DAMN. This black man 100% got away with this on me. I find it hard to believe that so many crimes people get away with in this town. This man did get away with this crime 100%. I was taken advantage of because I am disabled and in a walker. Later two weeks later I was watching Channel 2 news out of Portland and a lady in town was also in a similar manner touched by this black man. The description of the black man was really close to the black man who squeezed my breast hard at Wal Mart. It could of been the same man. He is homeless and about 5 foot 9 or 5 foot 10 and clean shaven. Please be careful women and ladies and if you see this man please run and leave the store. I got my prescriptions transferred out of the area and may leave the state after what happened to me. This story is why I hate you guys that work at the Portland Police Bureau's guts because you do not give a DAMN about women and this is an unsafe town 100%.

My wife and I had our car broken into on 10th street. My wife and I just got into the city and had all of our stuff stolen within the first hour. We had a violent encounter, followed by vehicle damage, followed by the theft of over $1,500 worth of items. This all occurred as part of the same incident. We immediately called PPB and were informed that there is nothing they can do. They refused to send any officers for assistance and stated that the only thing we could do was to go online and write a report. The negligence of this police department has deterred us from staying in this city any longer. We were here scouting locations for my wife’s business. We were looking to open two warehouses and employ upwards of 30 employees. We have determined that this city is not worth our time nor money. The lack of professionalism and care of this police department has allowed us to understand that this city has deep rooted crime problems and a system that caters to criminals. As a former LEO, I would highly discourage anyone from pursuing a police career in this city. There are many departments that do not have the same systemic problems. Many departments allow their officers to do their jobs correctly; this is not one of those departments. Avoid this department like the plague. As this was a first degree class C felony, that was ignored by this department, we are currently working with legal counsel. If anyone else has had felonies such as assault and grand theft intentionally ignored please contact me, as we are working to coordinate a class action suit. Again, this is not how high functioning departments are supposed to run. This is a disgrace to the citizens of this city that have to deal with this inferior and negligent department.

The traffic police are conspiring with judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys to fraudulently extort money from innocent people. They make legal determinations that automobiles are being used as vehicles and then they intimidate the uninformed operators into falsely incriminating themselves. They threaten the innocent operators and write a citation telling them that they have violated some rule that they call a statute, law, or ordinance. They do all of this despite the fact that they have absolutely no personal firsthand knowledge that the rule applies to the innocent operator. In order to do this, the police officers first falsely imprison the operators by telling them that they are not free to leave and indicate that if they try to leave, they will be assaulted, kidnapped, and even possibly murdered. This is false imprisonment, because the police officer has no personal firsthand knowledge that you fall under his/her authority for him to impede your movement. Please protect yourself if the traffic police attempt to commit these sorts of crimes against you. Record them with your cell phone, and ask if they have any factual evidence or personal firsthand knowledge that gives them the authority to violate you or order you to do anything. Recording them and questioning them effectively will allow us to collect evidence of their crimes so that we can begin to get them off the street.

I am trying to get get the report from my car accident that I request for months and have not recieved yet. I called over the department and the lady named Marty did not listen to what I am saying. She kept talking and talking. When I tried to stop her to listen to me. She hang up on the phone agressively. Now I do not even understand why I have to work and pay a lot of taxes just to recieve this attitude back. Is this fair? You work and get pay from others and not helping at all. This is stealing money from people, not working!!! Thieves, accidents, roberry still happening everyday and there is no help. If you are too tired to work that job, then give it to someone else who deserve it and who willing to help others. Not coming to work everyday doing nothing and wait until the end of the month to get paid and that is it!!!

I'm proud of what 2 officers did for me when I had no clues what to do right in front of Little Big Burger, Down Town Portland. I was about to arrived to the training at OHSU CHH building and my car battery died, I know my car had alternator issue before but this time I got so nervous and scared of what to do by stop sign. Called to my friend and he was about 30 minutes far from me so I have to step out and let the other vehicles pass by. My God sent these two Angels for me so that they helped me. It was so tough but they got me out that embarrassing situation. Thank you Dear officers.

Just wanted to give a shout out to a very helpful Woman Police Officer on Saturday night - My husband and I were in downtown Portland going to the Keller for a concert - not being familiar with downtown we had taken Max and was totally lost so I saw a Police Officer parked and went up to ask for directions - she gave us directions then said I can take you there - we got in and she drove us to Keller - I am sorry I didn't get her name or badge number but she was a life saver and went (as far as I am concerned) over and beyond her call of duty - Thank you

My daughter was murdered by a Russian who told the PPB he has "AMNESIA". The PPB WILL NOT INVESTIGATE. They say they cannot investigate someone w/ amnesia. He watched her die and PPB refuses to turn over evidence and will not fingerprint the needle that was used to kill her. She was NOT an addict and was NOT ALONE as they claim. PPB is corrupt and covering up murders of Americans by immigrants. The District Attornies also refuse to prosecute the Colombian Drug Cartel members related to her death.

I had a guy try to run me off the road 4 times. I called the non-emergency number when I got home because I don't have a cell phone. Since it was 15 minutes later that I called, they told me there was nothing they could do about it because they would have no idea which way they went. Are you freaking kidding me? What did you do before cell phones durrr. I now realize I pay tax dollars to the police department for their needs and it has nothing to do with me. I can't wait to move out of Portland.

A police department is a strange thing to review but I believe some of the department's recent actions warranted it. I lost my license while I was visiting Portland recently and needed a police report in order to get past airport security so that I could go home. The members of the Portland Police Department were kind enough to expedite the approval of my online report so that I could print it and get home. Needless to say I was very grateful for how helpful they were to me.

Have failed both a private and federal investigation into systemic brutality, and resisted compliance with federal dictates to improve. Posted billboards all over town co-opting the "Black Lives Matter" slogan crafted to protest police oppression of minorities, which is in the WORST taste possible. Have fostered internal KKK affiliations amongst its officers. This is the one union we need to bust.

  • Jacob Epton

Worthless to call protect and serve is a lie. Someone breaks into your house they get to walk away. Someone threatens to shoot you officer tells you to take it lightly. Someone drives through a group of kids on a residential street at over 50 mph it's not considered reckless. Don't waste your time justice will never be served. It's not protect and serve. It's to generate revenue.

  • Rob Bush

I'm literally trying to provide video and help solve property crime in Portland to no avail. Calls to the "non-emergency" help line just drop randomly and now I've been on hold for an hour. I just want to provide the licence plate and video of the people stealing from our neighbourhood at night. Can we please use some of the insane amount of taxes we pay for funding the police!?

  • Kunti Pradi

I am a home owner with multiple cases of vandalism to my property over a year long period. A rock was thrown through my window in the night. When an officer finally responded he refused to investigate or even give a case # and told me to file it online. Yet theyll use every resource to investigate a Starbux window being smashed. Robert King and Ted Wheeler are shills.

  • Kc starchild

I was assault on my bike downtown Portland for no reason and when I asked why they did it they called me the N word which was more upsetting then the assault. They went into the rite aid so I decided to follow and call the police . Waiting for the police who never showed was very stressful and made me even more upset knowing that even the police won't protect

  • Jessica Clark

I just want to say that I'm a worker at Owen's corning in Portland, OR and an officer turned around and stopped behind my car to make sure I wasnt breaking into it. I should have thanked him for stopping and I hope he sees this review. Thank you! We get a lot of car break ins when we park on the street and I know you did not have to stop but you did. Thank you.

  • Vince Viridian

I got my stuff stolen from me and I had photos of the person who stole my stuff from surveillance the person who came to take my report was with me for 5 minutes before he asked me if we could speed this up since he would rather work another case than this. Extremly unprofessional and unhelpful. I should feel safe, not least priority because I'm a theft case.

  • Victor DiMonico Haslo

Every time I've needed them, they've either done nothing or oppressed me, even though I'm the one calling. Literally detained me in front of my own house on suspicion of robbing my own bank three blocks down the street, I kid you not. Don't bother. Solve your own problems. PPB should be defunded entirely. What an embarrassment for this city.

  • Susan Wolfer

I have always found the PPB to be professional, polite, and always having the safety of the community in forefront of all they do. They would benefit greatly if they could get more of those arrested, prosecuted. I have been in many places across the nation and have found the PPB to be the best of all my experiences with law enforcement.

Refused to do anything about the burglar that broke into my apartment while I was sleeping. The lazy cops at the front desk told me to keep my credit card statement because they don't have time to investigate "petty theft" cases. Not sure when breaking into my home and stealing over $3,000 worth of stuff became petty theft.

  • Danielle West

On hold for over an hour to file a theft report. Unhelpful, untimely and certainly not surprised. Our tax dollars pay for uselessness, racism and to not be protected what-so-ever. If I didn’t have to file this police report to have record of it I would never dream of calling any police department in this country. -5 stars.

  • Naoto Iwashita

"The ACLU condemned police actions for leading to violence against protesters and called on Mayor Ted Wheeler to revise crowd-control strategies. In a series of seven Tweets, the American Civil Liberties Union said the 'indiscriminate violence against Portlanders was shameful.'" (The Oregonian; February 20, 2017)

  • Cliff Clavin

Terrible department. They are hamstrung by the politicians and laws on the books are not enforced. It seems the criminals have more rights than the taxpayers. Portland police look down on anyone who calls for minor crimes. They will treat you like crap and there is no accountability with them if one complains.

  • Claire Weldon

Portland Police officers need to train Beaverton Police (and other cities) to be human beings, while doing their routine jobs. Routine stops for lights out (e.g.) in Beaverton can be a nightmare! Portland has worse things to worry about and worse people to keep off the streets and keep our cities safe.

  • Keith Jones

Uh. I wanted to report information regarding a possible investigation and the dispatcher did not seem interested in getting me hooked up with an investigator at all. Instead I guess I will just call a news reporter to help out all these people who lost thousands of dollars. So bizarre.

  • Jenny Linnéa

Teenager without license drove into our fence. Police showed, but didn't call us to let us know what happened or run a SFST. I called Sergeant Spurling after her subordinate officer said I wasn't a "real victim." She defended the officer and said I don't understand "what officers do."

  • Kat Miau

I wish I can give negative stars. PPD is very unprofessional and incompetant in investigations! They should have their inflated wages cut drastically and work harder, because they are a bunch of failures. They don't like it? They can quit and work flipping burgers for minimum wage.

  • Dashea Mcdowell

Card was stolen last night from an employee at one of the night clubs in Portland. Asked to see surveillance for it and was shut down by the workers and then again no help whatsoever from the police after alerted of the situation Very unprofessional and extreme lack of courtesy.

  • Jason Jennings

If there were any officers to do... policing I'm sure they would be good. But since the only thing they seem to respond to are violent actions and have no one for literally anything else I have to ask what's the point of them?

  • Jamie Mitchell

Lost all respect for you! Let Illegals take over and come before your Citizens. My son held a guy that broke into his work this morning. Several calls to you. No police ever showed. Guess we have to serve Justice our selves.

  • Eileen Kennedy

Officer Sharp is a God-send. He found my brother when he was missing. He kept calling the local hospitals until he found him. I was very very worried about my brother. Now I am grateful to Officer Sharp for finding him.

  • Medjy Thelus

I got my car stolen, I can’t even make a report on the phone or online. What the Portland police are doing. Why are they getting paid. This is absolute madness coming from someone that got his stuff stolen and his car

  • Daniel Gonsalves

Highest respect for our men and women in uniform those with less than 4 stars dont count unless they've worn a badge before. every member of Portland Police I've interacted with has shown respect. #backtheblue

  • Ed Dino

I was in Portland over the weekend. Had a nightmare weekend and lost my phone. I was also disoriented and the Portland police helped me find a hotel and sleep the night off Kudos for their professional nature.

  • Mackenzie Larson-Weber

Useless when you actually need to report a potentially dangerous non emergency situation. The people who answer the phone will sass you before transferring you to a disconnected or busy line.

  • Adam Truitt

The police in Portland are pathetic and useless. Contributed to the destruction of the city, allow crime to persist, and I’m pretty sure are corrupt.

  • Tiffany Mme. Duverger

C'est la que mon capitaine Jhon Renard travaille à la police de portland. Nik et Hand travail ensemble même poste de travail police de portland.

  • Bruce Backlund

Good to see how the so called protesters were dealt with after blocking public transportation. The way it should be done. Excellent job!

  • Donald Mcpherso.

Well I don't know if it's your fault but I will be avoiding downtown Portland it's pretty bad when Tacoma is better and safer.

  • Casey Cole

I was having the worst night of my life. Some PPB officers talked me down and got me to safety. I owe them everything.

  • Kathleen Waldrop

Can’t get through their phone system or have them return a phone call. Wasting taxpayer $$$!

  • Joon

They don't want to do their job. All they can do is say "There's nothing I can do for you".

  • Carlynn Chumak

Great action taken in light of these ridiculous protests. Thank you for your service!

  • Denise Engle

This listing is in serious need of an update. The phone number is not even activated.
