I don't understand why management is weak at that mall, uber and bolt drivers are not allowed to load inside the perimeters of the mall by taxi drivers and there is nothing management is doing about it. Unless we missing something, maybe the mall is owned by a taxi association. I mean bigger and better malls like Southgate,Maponya,Jabulani and Protea Glen you will never have a problem when requesting a uber/bolt ride because management is strict and made it clear to the taxi drivers that if they harras others than they are out of those premises. Protea Gardens is weak and needs to change management, there are pensioners who can't walk properly and taxis drop them far from home. The owner needs to change management.

Made a quick stop at Nedbank and decided to just sort out my business account issues I've been delaying, at a very busy shopping mall Protea Gardens. Waited for over 70 mins before I could be served, contradicting the very Nedbanks 59 minute service level times framework. Getting to the consultant was yet another experience of being entertained to music from the respective consultant's phone when his focus was being destructed and conversations were going on the side. Thanks teller 8 with no name tag. Before I left, everybody gathered together and continued the conversations consciously.

It's crowded but you can still shop for essentials. It's dark inside, I'm not sure why they haven't fixed the lighting between shoprite and clicks. The parking is abundant and relatively safe, but it's advisable not to shop there during heavy rains, the drainage system is not up to par and has flooded the parking area before.

Great Mall to shop cause is conveniently situated in a quiet location near my home always shop there so sad they had to loot the only Mall I always go to. I've always had a great service from the Roots butcher's and Pick n Pay.. Mc Donald's and KFC.. I recommend the Mall to everyone in my family and friends

  • Linda Gwama

I am just wondering if it will ever come back to life yet again. Most shops have not even reopened yet, some are revamping, it's just too dark in there in broad daylight and walking in there feels shaky and unsafe. The looting did a lot of damage however we are rooting for the mall the rise up again.

I can get most of the banks I need. Management need to sort out the criminals that always seek to rob people of their money and stuff in that mall. Management also seek to upgrade the toilets. When you ask for one, you're required to pay about R2 which is extremely strange for a decent mall.

  • Msomi Simphiwe

Very Bad light you can get robbed at night, when there's loadshedding only the two stores ,Shoprite and Boxer are "On" the whole passage is dark, I do not feel safe walking in or out. And why is it that you don't have Centre Security? If there is then they are not visible.

  • Relebohile Mofokeng

No security guard visible, my sister was harassed even when she screamed for help the guards came when the perpetrator was gone. I only go there when I really need something. I don't mind getting a taxi to a safer more pleasant mall and gardens is 10 minutes walk

Nice mall for quick shopping, very busy as well... There are many fun places to hang around especially like your roots buy and braai. It's a good place for people who needs to make a quick stop while passing in the area for all kinds of refreshments and services

  • Penelope Mngadi

Its a disgrace even calling it a mall. Inside it's so dark and no control of dirty boys who are harassing people in this thing they call mall. The banks are operating so well but the atms queues are very long. There's nothing exciting about this place.

  • Kurhula Manganyi

Nice shopping complex with a number of shops to choose from. A mall with so many shops but customers have to pay to use bathrooms/toilets that's a complete turn off, management should atleast do something about this n the toilets are not clean...

  • Rirhandzu Sibisi

Some of the stores aren't so clean, especially the Shoprite store. The food on the shelves has dust everywhere, even the drinks and milk in the fridges. Their counters are also dusty and their queues are always awfully due to the slow service.

  • Loyiso Nebe

lady manning the toilets next to Centre manager is very rude. not a person to be in front of customers. deserves to be back of house. pitty management not available to recieve comments and online management info is outdated and incorrect.

  • Nombulelo Masabalala

This mall is conveniently located in Protea South, Soweto. It has retail stores that are available to the public and are a necessity. I disliked it because it is constantly full! With this pandemic, I can't deal with overcrowded spaces.

  • Nkululeko Khanyile

The mall is still recovering from the devastating July event but doing a pretty good. The mall is a standard one flow structure it has most of the shops but does miss Woolworths; food lovers; Spur and your other upper end restaurants.

  • Mphumeleli Zuma

Not a pleasant shopping center merely there aren't all the banks we need secondly why are there a few grocery stores and nonsense stores, who picks who goes there or rents a shop what's your target market who are you aimed to ???

  • Caroline Matshego

The best mall... Every shop caters for their customers' needs, anytime , everyday. The only down point is the lack of cleanliness. The hired group must regularly clean this mall as it is regularly visited by so many customers...

  • Malebo phatedi

Gardens is my go-to mall because it's convenient for me although it doesn't have your Woolworth, PicknPay McDonald's and all these fancy stores but it has stores like Boxer, Shoprite, Clicks and many more and yes there are ATMs

  • Thokozile Masilela

There's few shops here, but whenever you get there you'll find that you're looking for. It's just that the Mall itself is dirty. Some of the shop's clothes are very dull on colours, unlike Sandton there's more variety.

  • Ndivhu Joy Ndadza

Renovations going on at the moment, a few shops r closed. Didn't do much but I m looking for when they r done. Pep home got an new layout and it looks beautiful and upgraded with new items on the shelves …

  • Tebogo Mooketsa

There's no backup power in the mall when loadshedding is on the entire mall becomes dark. That's something you should look out for. But at least they have most bank branches in the mall so banking was not a struggle.

  • Muzi Kubeka

Small shopping complex with limited stores, store count even less after the national riots. Complex seems to be getting back on it's feet. Most shops open but there's severe limitation on clothes and food variety.

  • paula phakathi

The store is supposed to open at 8am, to my surprise it's still closed. The staff members are standing and chatting at the tills and not even bothered by this. Would not recommend to anyone

  • Thuli Andreas

It's not in the cleanest state, car theft is high as there are no cameras in the mall, the centre managers ignore you when you visit their offices for enquiries till you decide to leave.

  • fhatuwani muthanyi

It is always packed. There are limited ATM's so this means we stand even longer just to get money. Yes, I've thought about going to Shoprite to do cash back but the ques are worse there

  • Tshepiso Dimakatso Mnguni

It is not clean and dull...inside there could be more lighting used. The toilets are clean but you pay R1 or R2 to enter and be given a piece of tissue....not nice at all

  • Thandazile Ndwandwe

Toilets are bad and you have to pay R1 for a tissue, the mall is always hot there's no econ. This center is not taking their customers serious. I'm not impressed at all.

  • Melisha Gopal

The mall is a variety of shops enough parking and then loads of takeaway places as well no one can buy food. There are also vendors on the outside which sells vegetables

  • Steve Dlamini

It's indeed of the malls where you can a good shopping experience with a chain of stores that caters for grocery, appliances and a filling station just in the premises.

  • Ezekiel Lesley

No crime here,i would love to thank the center manager for fixing the loose paving as soon as it was reported. Most stores are trading during loadsheading...EXCELLENT

  • Mongami Nakani

The mall has the basics is generally safe. The elderly need to pay extra caution when offered help by strangers since it may opportunists/pick pocketers or scammers

  • Stella Lemogang

Service was good,,went to pep to deliver a parcel,,roots butchery is also good,,they have like everything under one roof,,there's shoprite,,clicks,,very convenient

  • Margaret Managa

It is nice to see a beautiful mall within Soweto that caters to all. The mall closes late to accommodate those who come home late. I enjoyed their fish and chips.

  • Prince B Ngwane

This is a very nice Mall but it's congested and busy outside and that makes it not very attractive. Renovations in progress inside and that doesn't help either.

  • Elias Jack Seshoka

Its so vibrant to be there , shoprite. Roots and clicks shops are there and it's caring coz taxis and rubbers or bolts are there to help by caring you around .

  • nkosinathi Willie

Management of the centre is very poor taxi drivers are threatening e hailing drivers whereas all malls around the area have pick up points and drop off point

  • Mimmi Biggar

Dark, dank. Supermarkets ate veg marks. Unpleasant and you constantly on the lookout . Desperately needs a mire poweful lighting system throughout the mall.

  • Moipone Mavis

Protea Gardens mall lacks lot of shops like Woolworths, Edgars, Westpack. If the management can add those shops or ask the customers which shops they prefer

  • Nomsa Xaba

The place is not what it used to be.parking lot not safe there's guys hanging around the parking lot .Security is an issue The Mall is not clean …

  • Gofamodimo Mokoena

The toilets are dirty but you have to pay to enter, the lighting is terrible, the ShopRite store is outdated, the store looks messy from the entrance

  • Uriel Samson

A very decent mall, clean and has the main convenience shops and a selection of take away places. Two major butcheries located there Roots and OBC.

  • Virginia Tshivhasa

Reasonable number of shops, enough parking space, no woolies, no chicken licken, no burger King. Beautiful mall, clean toilets. Lovely mall …

  • Enid Mashudu Munene

Beautiful shopping centre that keep improving! It has all ATM'S a Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer Super Stores, Clicks, OBC Chicken and so much more!

  • David9lo Sekgapane

  • nony matsaba

The bolt and Uber rides are harassed always, it's on going concern for clients Shopping there it's not nice, they broke into my car as well.

  • Buhle Madondo

What I despise about the place is the illegal traders outside the mall who block a way to walk on the pavement. They leave the area unclean.

  • Juliet Mmotlana Vilakazi

IT is the 2nd time that the dish I wanted to buy was finished. I am not sure whether l came after lunch time thus could not get Mala Mogodu

  • Sabelo Twala

Very inconvenient especially when there's load shedding or month end. Shops need to improvise for month end shopping especially Shoprite.

  • Juliah Mantshadi

Renovation after loot brought us new products ever inside the shops. The mall is improving every day. Service is very professional.

  • Ntswaki Madilonga

Not my favourite place but is a necessary me as to an end. It's very dark and dirty. Needs improvement and has alot of potential.

  • Tshiamo Ralf

Lines were bad and the customer service was the worst at most shop. On top of that the items listed on sale were not available

  • Cynthia Njinge

Convenient and some shops opens early which for me it's phashash because I like going to malls early to avoid fluster. …

  • kally selebi
