I never knew how racist Canadian justice system is untill I went to this place for a traffic offense. There's a guy in a wheelchair who is very racist. He disrespect and yelled at people for absolutely no reason. He made me plead guilty for an offense and told me to pay 150$ which I agreed to. While seating in the court room, they called a white guy who committed the same offense as me on the same street to plead guilty to pay 82$. When they call my name, I asked the judge why was the white guy paying less than me when we committed the same offense on the same street. They all gang up on me saying that everyone have different situation. I said really I told the prosecutor that I was a student and unemployed. They were mad and increased my fines to an additional 30$ so I pay 180$ just for pointing out their racist treatment. Tell me if that's not discrimination, and corruption? A system cannot be changed if everyone in the system or in position are the same race. It have to be level and everyone have to be treated equal. I guess when someone pointed out the problems the difference, and advocate that can cost you.

When I went to my new apartment at Norberry Residences to sign the lease I received a $200 parking ticket just for parking in the roundabout lane that loops in front of the front door to the building. I was parked there for 3 min to sign the move in lease and I got a ticket. However, now that I live here on the first floor near the entrance I see people park the same way, hundreds of people, all park the exact same way for the past 9 months every single day!!!!! I have to witness all the other tenants happily using the parking area completely free of any hassles or stresses conveniently able to use the space with absolutely no problems at all. If it's no parking allowed, then enforce it for gods sakes....everyone, not just .000001% of the people! But it's okay for Canada Post to park there or a giant construction bin somehow magically exempt from any regulations? What is this everyone can park but me rule??? How is this okay!?

My experience Really .... I've been trying to get a hold of them for 2 days Now . I've been paying a 1300 fine for the last year now , I had 1 payment left to do March 2nd and I went in on the 3rd played it . Sure enough a week later I got a notice of suspension of my licence cuz of being late . It's funny tho they took my payment on the 3rd never told me nothing about licence being suspended. SO NOW they want me to pay a late fee and reinstated for my licence ! That's like fraud in a way ? ..... But who gives a shot I'm pensions off right . I can offered to pay that . Then they wonder why ppl do the things they do .

I understand the police is issuing more tickets in this city of increasing population to maintain law and order. But at the same time the city needs respect our rime while making more money from us. Such a large city, but only four (4) windows at the admin desk, and rarely there is more than two (2) person working. When I share this feedback, the clerk responded rudely saying, "don't brake the traffic rules, or pay it on-line". A Personification of a 3rd world country government office. Pathetic

This place is government incompetence at it finest . I have never seen such a lazy rude staff anywhere . These people are being paid large government salaries to help and serve us and they act like we are nothing are rude and so condescending it’s crazy . Don’t bother calling and trying to ask a question in the years yes years I have called here not one time has anyone picked up the phone . You get to recording and no one answers that either. Just a waste of tax payers money and a waste of time

They opened the door right at 8:30. The man at the counter was very rude. Told me to speak up when I was talking. Also just gave me a number and didn’t tell me where to sit (there are three areas as to where you can sit). When I went in to fight my ticket- the women was nice. She told me all the rules and gave me a pamphlet. Parking is only an hour so it is hard to predict how long you will be there for. I do recommend arriving 20 minutes before the doors open. It does get super busy.

I had a good experience finding the building, the courthouse and the parking, which was free and plentiful (4 hour max). You drive past 100 Constellation Drive, the Mary Pitt Centre, which houses the Provincial Offences Court Offices and courtrooms, and follow the signs to the free parking lots. I was there on a “snow day” and the parking lots were well-ploughed and there were several vacant parking spots even though court was well-attended. Visitor parking is free.

They should perhaps think about up dating their hours of operation on the main search page or at the very least specify that certain areas are closed. So that people don't leave work early only to be told they are closed until further notice due to covid. I am a frontline worker so I understand the severity of covid, but when you google search this place it says open. It is not until you clickity click on 2 different places that you can finally see what is closed.

Just called, it's Thursday, 11:38AM. The answering machine tells me that they are open Monday-Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and that I should call back during office hours. It then hangs up on me. Have to reschedule my court date that is later today as I am ill and now I can't reach anybody. Basically need to show up in court sick as a dog, or be charged with failure to appear in court. This is unacceptable.

Wait times are fine but you might as well not show up. The lady I spoke to for my ticket was incredibly rude and kept cutting me off by saying “ please don’t go off the script” even though all I was doing was answering her questions. She said she only wants a “yes” or “no” and refused to listen to any other word. Basically all they do is give you an extension for payment nothing else.

I broke the law ran a red light by accident got a ticket for 325$ they cut it down to 150$ I paid the 150$ so I can't complain it's my own fault the lady helping was alittle rude but I cant be mad at the ticket she could have been more nice but cant say anything else other then that was pretty fast didnt wait long.

Called at 11:55am... automatic message I received "Our hours of operation are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to riday. Please call during regular business hours" - so not sure about everyone reading this, but isn't 11:55am smack middle of the business hours Public services at its finest.

Today I lost my wallet there unconsciously, a gentleman working there found it and drove to my home to give me right after I got home. may kind people be blessed with life-long peace and healthy! Hope he can see this or his colleagues who saw this review can tell him :)

So my daughter just received a ticket in the mail saying she had a parking infraction. Funny thing is she never drove to Ottawa or it’s surrounding area. So now she has to dispute a ticket that’s about a 5 hour drive away. Absolutely beyond disgusting!

  • Paul Nadeau

if you pay for parking, they still ticket you in hopes that you will not dispute even if you submit online the paid receipt showing your licence number and the date you paid for. They will still decline it. Not a friendly city to park in.

  • Ethan Melamed

The hours at this office are inconvenient. If you want to save some money by fighting a ticket or getting it halved you have to take time off work! It should be open earlier in the mornings, later in the evenings and on weekends.

  • Ray Pregent

These people are very difficult to reach. I phoned several times and they say it's a 20 minute wait. I need information about a past due ticket and can't check online because I don't have the ticket number. Very frustrating!

  • Dan

Ive called 12 times on seperate days and have only gotten to speak to someone once. Otherwise, ive been placed on hold every single time for a transfer and had the operator hang up the line without fail. Disgusting service.

  • Jasia Foottit

Called general number to ask a very simple question. You get the message, stay on line to speak to someone. As soon as message is completed, your call is ended. Guess they don't want to talk to you. Very frustrating.

  • Jeffrey Storey

A great example of how the government screws Canadians over and over. 2/4 desks open, 40 people in line, 5 mins per person is insanely frustrating and inhumane, especially when you have a life to live.

  • Kevin Voelker

Great experience, I was there for a number of charges but was processed quickly after gladly pleading guilty to the judge who was very nice to me. The sentencing was just and was glad to be processed.

  • TheMXinsidE

Probably the worst justice system you can experience. Don't expect anyone to take you seriously or be unbiased. As a young adult I was treated with disrespect and condescending attitude by everyone.

  • Ottawa's Freelance Photography

Very rude and unprofessional, every single.person that works there is rude and need communication skills or a class, the worse is the prosecutor Yvonne's the devil must have taken her soul.

  • Diva Only

one of the slowest places in life - and ive been to the general hospital...if youre looking for the worst experience in court history youre at the right place..

  • Bill McEvoy

A beautiful modern office complex within walking distance to public transpo. Plenty of free onsite parking with reasonable paid parking along the streets.

  • Catherine Mckeough

An interesting way to learn something about our court system. The judge was very patient. More people should take the time and observe.

  • Drink Coffee Ride Bikes

when you call during regular business hour the telephone just rings and rings nobody answers and no ability to leave a message

  • Teddy Christes

This place is a joke u call and call then. U get trans red to a voicemail that hands up on u . The worst service ever

  • Mary Ma-Kizilcay

Went in there to cancel a wrongful parking ticket. Was told that it was cancelled, and now we're being convicted.

  • Zeeshan Ali

They never answer the phone, period. Only keep taking tax money/ ticket money because they have all the powers.

  • Harrison E

Ottawa parking enforcement and speed traps are just ruthless. No wonder Ottawa is the city fun forgot.

  • Jacob

Frustrating when they don't answer phones or tell public they have been closed. Garabge organization.

  • Bango

Definitely worth the time to go there. They always have been compassionate and understanding.
