Only gave this place a 4 due to a handful of its employees . For the most part it’s an overall pleasant experience . Food is consistently fresh , establishment & parking lot are always kept well , free valet when needed , free balloons & cookies for the kids, no matter if it’s busy you still won’t wait long , and they seem to always have everything I need ( even without a list ). My only gripe is with the very few workers who lack customer service . There’s been two or three occasions I couldn’t find a product and asked a stocker on the same isle and they’ve been clueless or flat out told me “ I don’t know “ . One stocker flat out lied to me once and told me “ we don’t carry it “. I knew he was not being truthful because it was on the app so after I just searched for it myself And found it I went to him and politely showed it to him in the event it happens to another client and he just starred at me . No apology for being dishonest or unhelpful and no gratitude for not going to his manager & complaining about his behavior which isn’t Publix standard . I agree with the below poster about the Asian lady in the deli she seems to be very upset about her job ALL THE TIME. I’ve also fallen victim to her blank stares while her not trying to help or flat out coldness when serving the food. It’s like she’s in a hurry for you to hurry up . The cashiers are a hit or miss . You’ll get some exceptionally awesome ones & then you’ll get some that are just robots. As far as the rest of the staff they’re great !!! The bakery is always a pleasure to visit . seafood staff & meat department are very helpful . They’re patient , explain specials , and always willing to cut up pre packaged items for me or order in advance . The produce team is always on it and willing to get you something from the back . The deli meats area is always busy but quick And polite . The rest of the prepared foods staff aside from that lady is courteous and serve warm food . Overall I will always continue to shop here because the great experiences always out weigh the very small bad experiences for me .

This was my favorite Publix until today, I thought publix could do no wrong, foolish me aye? Its so sad that this continues to happen. I come weekly to this publix and spend a pretty penny every time. Today I rushed in at around 8:30am, I needed supplies as my Irish twin boys contracted a virus the daycare. I had a rough idea of what I needed. I am British, we do not have the same medication that America has, I need to google everything I think I need, so it takes a while. I entered the medicine aisle near the pharmacy, was watched, I timely moved to the baby aisle to get fever reducer etc was joined by 3 more employees pretending to fix a an already fixed display (2 males, 1 female). Moved on to get some grape juice from concentrate, was followed by one of the employees pretending yet again, he only stopped when I stopped, the funny part is as someone who specializes in surveillance and a husband trained by the USAF, he really needs to work on his tracking skills, you wont catch a fly with that method. I could of made a scene at the store and called out the bigot perpetrators but I decided to proceed home and deal with my children and use my platform to let your customers know who they are dealing with. You know what really disappointed me, had I been dressed in my regular designer materialistic attire, you probably would of offered help, which I needed. Retrain, educate…Do better.

I have been in this store on several occasions and the lunch hot/cold bar is not being maintained. There are no containers or only certain size containers available. Not the size container that I need. Three out of the five times that I was in there for lunch there were also no utensils or napkins to be found. I had to ask employees at the deli counter for them or search for them myself if they were busy. Another wait. At 1 pm, on several occasions, the hot food items were out or almost out. Most lunch hours in the area are from 11 am. to 2 pm. My purpose for using the hot bar is that I only get 30 minutes for a lunch. I cannot wait in line to order a sandwich from the deli. The cold to-go sandwiches are horrible and I feel like a waste of money. Deli meat and lettuce that is old, discolored and dried out is not my idea of a sandwich. The hot/cold bar is quick and the food is decent for what it is. Having a sloppy/dirty bar, no food, no containers, napkins and utensils defeats the purpose of having a to-go quick bar. It needs to be well stocked with food, supplied with all instruments required to eat it with, wiped down and maintained at all times. What I have experienced and seen this past week is NOT what I have come to expect from Publix.

BLAKE was super awesome!!!! Respectful and attentive to us & our needs! That’s why I gave 4stars! The whole reason we stopped coming to this location was due to the poor customer service! They were out of meatballs (as usual here) so I decided to get a chicken ‘parm sub’ but they had no Mariana sauce behind the counter, again, as usual. That’s fine I said as I offered to go to the aisle and get it (I’ve done this in the past) however, when I asked where it was(Shana don’t know the proper spelling, sorry)had no clue what isle it was down & then had an unpleasant attitude about going to get it. There probably was about 3 employees around my sub the whole time it was being made. I felt like my sub was in surgery & the workers were doctors! Hovering around it. Blake apologized to us! I think he saw our frustration. Thank you! Even the older lady had to interfere during the order to put a sticker on the sauce Shana pulled. I get it. I worked retail. I understand inventory but it could have waited until we were done ordering. And for the record, the sauce was around isles 4 & 5. This is why we like Platt St. Tara’s awesome there like Blake is here

This Publix location wasn't bad and had very much of what you'd come to expect of shopping here (if you're a regular of Publix in general). I put 4 stars because, as usual, there were still many items that were completely out of stock. I can appreciate empty shelves were the norm at the beginning of the pandemic, but we've, for the most part, overcome that this year.....and I've been told through another two Publix locations (in Lakeland) that it's attributed to overcoming Hurricane Ian. Today, I'm shopping a solids 3 weeks and two days (October 21st) since it hit and it did not affect Tampa as it did further south in Ft. Meyers. So I find it interestingly odd that a storm that passed nearly a month ago would still affect an area that was not heavily inundated with outages and debris and inmaneuverable infrastructure, which leads me to believe several store location's managers cannot conduct proper inventory and therefore has lead to a frustratingly negative effect for the shoppers of Tampa Bay. That's just my two cents. ✌

Most ridiculous experience of my life! My wife went in to get a couple of money orders. The clerk on duty (Elijah) started asking her tons of questions: they asked for her ID, the cards she was going to use, the exact amount on each card, what she was going to use the money order for(?), among others... My wife explained everything to the clerk who then called for another customer service person (Danielle) . She went through the same questions, this time with a calculator to total the amounts on each money order. After 30 minutes of this lunacy, they told my wife that they could not accept the pin-based cards she had. Why in God's name did they not catch that in the initial barrage of 20 questions? We often pay certain bills with money orders from Publix and always use the same type of cards to purchase them. Why didn't these customer service representatives just tell my wife that they didn't feel like selling her money orders instead of wasting her time (and their own)?

I went in to cash a payroll check at the customer service counter, and was helped by a new employee, I believe her name was jewel ? For reasons that aren't their fault , they were unable to cash my check, and when I asked why the manager who was helping to train her nicely explained why it could be and told me what to do to find out why the system wasn't allowing them to cash it. She was training the new employee and doing a good job instructing her what to do without being overbearing. I wish I got her name but I didn't think to look - she was a white lady with brown hair maybe somewhere in her 30s but she was kind and efficient and seemed to really know what she was doing. I've almost always had nothing but great service at every Publix I've been to and this one was no exception I came in on a Thursday afternoon , august 31st at around 5pm

I want to say that this Publix Location is probably the best one. And I think it is because of their Mature associates. I stop by the pharmacy for a prescription and the lady was so helpful she was able to find my insurance with out me providing her the insurance card and mind you I never used publix pharmacy before. And just as I walk around you could see the associates involvement with the customers not only pointing but actually trying to help the customers. The one difference with the one by my house is the aged. The average associated here is like over 35 and the average by my house is like 20 or less. What a pleasure to have such a great service. I will gladly drive the 30 plus minutes for the service. That 28 minutes more than the location by my house.

This store is really great. It's not far from home, and i haven't had any trouble finding anything that i ever needed, especially like some of the products that Walmart used to carry, but don't carry any more, like the Bavarian style sauerkraut. I love to cook my smoked pork ribs with it. It also seems like Walmart is doing way with a lot of name brand products, and substituting off name brands, such as Great Value, and others. If i can't find what i want and need, i'd much rather go to someplace that carries the things that i do want and need. Publix is just my kind of store. They even order items for you, if they don't carry them. Of course you have to pay the cost, but to me it's worth it, to get what i want.

This is definitely one of the better Publix stores. It's clean, very well stocked, and has plenty of workers. They could use help on their hot/cold bar as it's usually messy, not kept up, and makes me wonder if the temperature is kept where it should be. I love the fact that they have one but it always looks unclean and makes me skeptical. It's a great grocery store so if Publix sees this I hope they will make improvements to this area. I live in So Tampa and do not like the store located on Bayshore. I also own a house in Tempe Terrace and the 2 Publix stores over there are terrible, so I do enjoy shopping at this particular location. The store is quite large and very well laid out. The staff is super friendly too.

  • Serge Ecoiffier

They are selling passed cheese, See photos. Although this cheese best before date is in January 2023, being December 15th, it has gone bad. It should not have brown areas nor should it smell like ammonia. So early before the best before date typically says the cheese was not handled properly. It is not a piece of cheddar. Otherwise, the store had a good choice of products and was clean. All of their other "French" cheese, even if not from France, were visibly no better than the one in my photos. Note: Saputo is not French.

  • terre tulsiak

Excellent as always. With few exceptions employees are helpfu, cheerful and genuine. They go out of their way to assist, always follow policy that they are trying to please the customer, and seem happy to be there. I like paper and unlike other places they're never 'out'. I wish they didn't waste so much food- crates of vegetables and even plants are often thrown out in dumpster- rather than used in soup or composted .

  • Ezell Lester

Got what I was shopping for but I don't like the short dismissive attitude of one of the staff members. They have much kindness and attentiveness for other customers but when I seek attention they either don't comprehend my questions or don't have that same energy for me as they do for other customers. Last I checked the old saying "customer satisfaction" had meaning and it encompasses all customers.

  • Jeanette Gracian

Had my very first experience at Publix yesterday and I can honestly say this is the best supermarket I've been to. They have free valet parking so if its ever super busy you can use that. I have never seen valet parking at a grocery store. Also, the store is huge and have an awesome selection of everything and the staff was super nice when we asked for some help. New favorite supermarket!

  • Jonathan Kolbinsky

The store is very clean. The hot bar is always stocked while it's open, and the food is exceptional for grocery a grocery store buffet. Every time I've ordered a sandwich from the deli, they stuff it with meat so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. As far as Publix goes, this is one of the best that I've been to in the bay area. I also recommend the Publix at Gandy and Manhattan.

  • Cara Frost

Wow, this place was really done over beautifully! Everything is easy to find, everybody's happy to help, and you can get a lot of good Specialty Foods and cheeses here! The only disappointment is that they've cut the staff that helps you check out trying to get us to do it ourselves, however, I'm not going to do it! Please step up your lanes so that we can have someone check us out!

  • Sean G

Oh how I wish to trade every Kroger in the metro Detroit area for just a single Publix. Well stocked, well staffed and friendly. Excellent prepared foods, the popcorn chicken and wings are great to stock up on for snacks. Pro tip when buying seafood, they will steam and season it for your journey back home. Great selection of beers from the mitten as well, Founders, Bells, etc.

  • Brandon McWalters

Wow! Dean is the absolute man in seafood! Every. single. time! He delivers. Having spent the last 30 years in customer service I can spot a star when I see one. Dean is just that: a freaking rock star! Eye contact, attentiveness, sincerity, bright smile, professionalism, you name it and he's got it! Dean, if you're reading this, God bless you and hope a blessed day!

  • Nicole Perper

Seafood department was empty and store was open for over an hour. Also asked a guy if I could have 3 pieces of portioned salmon and he gave salmon but not the center cuts but charged me for the center cuts and he made me wait 15 minutes . Also when I came back he was on his phone and not setting anything up and my salmon wasn't ready. Very disappointing.

  • Aaron DeSantis

Dean in seafood was so kind and accommodating! I tried to reach the store before the seafood items were put away, but I didn’t make it. Dean was so gracious and willing to help me. I felt so bad coming so late but Dean was so reassuring and said that it wasn’t a problem. He was so friendly and warm, it made for such a pleasant shopping experience!

  • Michele Krohn

Aaron in the deli area is awesome! He helped me be able to send Publix subs to my sister in California a few weeks ago and today cooked wings that weren't out yet. Also, the gentleman in the seafood section (I didn't get his name) but he is so nice and always has a smile, you can tell even behind his mask. This is a great store with a great team!

  • Eunice Waklatsi

Omg store #611, best Publix ever. I was craving Salmon and had to drive to multiple locations. Finally got here and Dean, in the seafood department hooked me up and held me down. Best service ever, brightened my entire day and he was just the nicest man. These are the reasons why I shop Publix for great service and the great people I meet!!!!!

  • Donald ERICKSON

I do not appreciate it proposed to please approach another employee for say the deli while I've been waiting there for someone to wait on me and they're allowed to stick their head around the corner or over-the-counter and get serviced before I do. So for this Publix located beside habana off Hillsborough with no longer get me as a customer

  • Danny Truong

This location seems to employ the most rude and seemingly racist employees/cashiers especially in the evening. You get greeted differently if you arent light skinned. Even if you show respect & thank the cashier/baggers afterward for assisting you they already have their backs turned wl with no reply, you're basically thanking a wall.

  • Iris Shtylla

I don’t have anything with the employees that work here. I have a huge issue with Publix in general, they don’t have any good deals at all, I can find better deals at Whole Foods and if you all pay close attention to their prices they change based on the location even though the distance is 3 miles away from each other. I’m done with them.

  • Melissa Burnham

Clean and fast. Friendly worker with dreadlocks helped me find unsweetened coconut, the lady in the bakery added a name to a giant cookie super cute, the checkout man was super friendly and nice. I found all I was looking for very quickly with help & it was a very clean, tidy, bright & open atmosphere to shop it was a lovely experience.

  • JMB Group

As usual the customer service at the meat & seafood counter was awesome. My wife and I were assisted by Dean, who saw us looking for fish that wasn't available in pre package seafood freezers. Although he was preparing for the store to close,, he took the time to assist us with some fresh fish. Another great experience at Publix.

  • David Lieberman

Great south Tampa Publix on S. Dale Mabry Hwy. in the Palma Ceia neighborhood. Stopped in to pick up a few basics to take home after work. I've been shopping at this store and it's predecessor before the renovation about 10 years ago since I lived in North Hyde Park in the 90's. Always clean and well stocked with a great staff.

  • Jo Ann Vildibill

Dean in the seafood department is the best. He had just finished up cleaning so I didn’t want to bother asking him for help. But they didn’t have any cod frozen. He was absolutely wonderful. He went to the back , got what I needed, and was very happy to help. It’s so nice to have that experience when shopping in the evening.

  • Dana Powers

This is the snobbiest Publix I’ve ever shopped at. I spend a lot of money at Publix, and I’ve never been treated as rudely as I have at this Publix. I understand there’s a bunch of rich people around this part of town and I’m dirty from work. But good lord what a bunch of snobs. I will never shop there again. Shame on them.

  • Alex Almond

This is my childhood grocery store and am as pleased today as I was riding my bicycle there for some needed family items many many years ago! Took my 101 year old grandmother here while in town and it fulfilled all our expectations! This is why I loved the opening of the new Publix by my home that is a 7 hour drive away!

  • Scott D

They charged me $81 to make my girlfriend’s 7” birthday cake. I pick it up and this is what they gave me. At $81 for a very small cake I expect it to look like the actual picture and not some thrown together in a couple minutes cake. I could have spent $20 somewhere else and ended up with a better quality looking cake...

  • Lee Feinberg

Publix is always great. The people are nice and this one is always clean. Two negatives, I could give birth before I get what I need at the pharmacy. Second, while their selection seems excellent, there isn't much depth per item...like my wife's beer of choice. It's usually gone. Keep up the good work otherwise.

  • Yvette

Store was immaculate and everything in the produce section was fresh. I was looking for something specific that was not out and one of the employees whom I interrupted from stocking stopped what he was fooling to go into the back to check if they truck had delivered it. I wish I had his name. Awesome employee.

  • JandR Hill

I would like to give a great big thanks to Dean in the Seafood! Dean was in the process of closing his area when we showed up. Dean was very customer oriented and caring for his customers! I highly recommend to go see Dean at Store 611, Publix where shopping is a pleasure! Hire more employees like, Dean!

  • Chris Werner

Great South Tampa location. This store is always well stocked with fresh produce and the meat department is awesome. Check out the deli area for the famous Pub Subs and delicious fried chicken. Meals to go are easy and delicious. The staff consistently delivers excellent customer service. Recommended.

  • Thomas Metz

Big store. Great selection of food. I saw a Make Your Own Pizza cold case which looks fun. Alot of organic and non gmo foods which is always a good thing. Fast checkouts. Easy to get in and out parking lot. Negative would be that it gets too busy for my liking on sat and Sundays but that's expected.

  • Some Guy

I once thought about sleeping in the parking lot in my car, but it was too well lit. So I bought some food items from inside the store, which are always delightful at Publix, then drove to the Home Depot parking lot on South Dale Mabry. My favorite place to sleep in my car when I'm homeless.

  • Jonathan Montell

Place is huge. They have a freaking chicken wing bar. The publix near where my wife and son live we are lucky to have an olive bar. Place had everything I needed and then some. While publix is a bit pricey compared to Walmart the quality if goods and options there are greater.

  • Shayna Luchte

Dean from the seafood department was amazing. I came in towards the end of the night and the seafood station had already been cleaned and shut down, but he opened it up and was able to package what I asked for. He was extremely personable, kind, and friendly, thank you Dean!

  • Charles Eldredge

Another demonic corporation. Cleaner and better than most grocery stores, but the cashiers are going downhill. They used to be friendly and focus on the customer. Now they are usually having a conversation with the bagger and barely, if at all, acknowledge the customer.

  • Adrienne Lawley

I am having the best dinner tonight, I bought a ribeye and a nice steak seasoning, another great meal. The ribeye, is so tender and delicious. Publix is convenient and easy to find good parking, the employees are always in a good mood, and it's a great store.

  • Mr. John Henry James III James

Dean in the butcher shop was such a jewel to work with. He went above and beyond to help me. I really appreciate it as a local business owner. Big John’s House of Smoothie’s in Tampa Signature Club La Fitness and St. Pete Esporta Fitness 22nd Ave33710

Bought lunch from DELI. Popcorn chicken and potato wedges. When I got in car and started driving I reached into bag and the food was warm at best and some was cold. DO NOT BUY FOOD FROM THE DELI. I threw the food away and went without lunch

The food was good but there was one Asian lady that saw me standing there. She turned around like she didn't see me because she didn't want to serve me. She didn't even tell anyone else to come over after I had been standing there. So I

Dean from store 611 was awesome. He was cleaning the seafood section and I didn’t realize the time. He stopped what he was doing to help. I hate to be that person so I declined but he insisted. Awesome store and service. Thank you Dean!

  • Milly F

My husband and I waited a long line to get our subs since there was only 1 person working well it was worth the wait. even after a long line of back to back people Nelia was such a positive, kind and patient person. Thank you Nelia!

I really like this Publix. I have been going there since a child. Many light years. Like all Publix Supermarkets, the staff is very helpful. The store is clean, not cluttered even on Christmas eve when it was more than packed. The

I have been going to Publix since I was a child. The food is typically better and fresher than in other grocery stores. They never let me down, Publix means quality. When I travel out of town and need to eat, I look for a Publix.

Wow what a great experience. I just left another business where there was a terrible customer experience so it's great to experience an amazing one! Everyone very friendly, and very helpful. A+ to this store and their employees

Needed some quick items and needed assistance and she directed us right to the item. Love the self-check ut, was in and out in minutes. Store very clean, staff friendly and nice making shopping at this Publix's enjoyable.

I went to get a pub sub and spent 45 minutes in line for the worst sandwich. The women at the counter were great, but the guy tore apart my beautiful sandwich at the end at charged me $12 for it. Don’t use this deli

  • Joe A.

Always a pleasure shopping here, but their parking leaves a bit to be desired, since it's on the small side, and this storefront is next to very busy Dale Mabry. Plenty of BOGOs , friendly employees, as always.

I love Publix. It's probably my most brand loyalty. I don't mean "it's a fancy five star place," but this is my go-to grocery and hot lunch place. Sushi bowls are great. Public cookies are to die for.

Very bad service in the deli, we are 5 people waiting and only 1 attending the deli, there are 3 more people inside cutting in the machines, they prefer to do that to serve the customers!
