Been member here for a couple of years now and clearly corners are starting to be cut in the name of cost cutting. Most noticeable is over the last couple of weeks the cleaning stations have now been removed. I have been to several other pure gyms and this is not thst case. There is now no way to clean down the equipment after use. Cardio equipment regularly have sweat left on the bars, seats and controls. Why in the world would pure gym think this was a good idea? Was paper towel and antibacterial solution really that expensive? The changing rooms are another issue. Months ago we mentioned the squeegee was broken. This was then removed and never replaced. So to add to the unhygienic equipment we now have shower trays covered in hair, soap and spit between cleans. The ventilation also needs to be looked at as currently in the evenings the air feels think and damp with all the windows covered in condensation. One final moan...why do we have classes taking place in the open plan areas with the music on so loud that it's impossible to hear anything else? I understand that having a beat to work out to is something to enjoy but why does this need to be so intrusive? Wasn't as bad until you moved all the cardiovascular equipment into the same area. One thing I will say positively though, the staff are always incredibly friendly and say hello.

I've been a member of this gym for several months now and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The facilities are top-notch and always clean, with a wide variety of equipment that accommodates all types of workouts. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they go out of their way to make sure everyone feels comfortable and welcome. In addition to the traditional weightlifting and cardio equipment, the gym also offers a range of group fitness classes, from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training. The classes are a great way to get a challenging workout in a supportive and fun environment, and the instructors are excellent at motivating and encouraging participants. One of the things I love most about this gym is the sense of community. There are always people chatting and working out together, and it's a great place to make new friends and connections. Whether you're a seasoned fitness enthusiast or just starting out, this gym has something for everyone. Overall, I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a high-quality workout experience. The combination of top-notch facilities, friendly staff, and a supportive community make it the perfect place to achieve your fitness goals.

I was visiting Leicester for a couple of days so I used this gym twice. It was really busy in the evening and kind of busy in the morning at 6 am, but on both visits I got everything done that I needed to. I spoke to a few people when waiting to get on machines or gather plates for the rack and everyone was nice and polite. My issue, and this is somewhat specific to the type of training you do, is there are no catchers on the half racks or on the bench press rigs. There is only one full squat rack, with catchers. For me, training solo and training to failure, that was a safety issue. There’s also advertisements on the mirror in front of the squat rack that blocked me from checking my thighs were parallel at the bottom of the squat. So they made the mirror totally pointless other than being able to see my ugly straining face. I would go again, if visiting Leicester again. Machines were all clean and look well maintained. Good value for money. 3.5 stars, but that’s not an option to select. It’s not a 5 star gym, it’s a place to get things done, which in itself is not a bad thing. Lost half a mark for the lack of catchers and the annoyingly placed advertising that rendered the mirror unhelpful for lifting.

In response to the review by Chris about the clean stations, other gyms still have them, I've been to 2 other gyms this week with them, see photos. Puregym, are you trying to say the 'government' specifically told walnut Street to take them out, or are you really saying you are cutting costs? Wouldn't be such an issue if you actually cleaned the equipment, but out of all the gyms I go to this is by far the worst. The equipment is usually covered in dust or grime which is why people use the clean stations. The showers are grim which is why months ago I requested for you to replace the squeegee mop, and you still haven't! Half the showers don't work. Why is it this gym seems to be in a downward spiral compared to other gyms? As a side note, the clean stations aren't just for covid, they are for hygiene. Just observe how many people come out of the toilet and don't was their hands!

There are many gym rules that are just not enforced. Bags aren’t to be brought into the gym area yet members constantly bring large holdalls into the gym area and staff do nothing about it. Members not wearing footwear in the gym. Just wander around in socks. Members using 3 pieces of equipment at once. Throwing their bags and sweaters over it all as some form of reserving the equipment. I think what’s happened is these issues haven’t been addressed from the early days and it’s just gone too far now to police it. Gym rules aren’t clearly signed in the gym area. There’s a sign to return weights but that’s as far as it goes. Why can’t a sign about bags be erected? Why can’t a sign about footwear to be worn at all times be erected? You can’t use the excuse of it being so cheap as a reason to completely ignore health and safety in the gym.

Some managers and some of the trainers have a bad opinion about the people who help each other in training wanting to solve a help from the staff. It is not possible for the STAFF to impose help while the client does not want it.There are people who do not want to be helped by the staff. They train better, feeling at ease being helped by a friend. I don't think this should be something to blame when you help someone who appreciates you for the work done, becouse we are to same extent a collective. This led me to choose another gym. I have never encountered such rules before. On another note, there are a lot of people in the gym and the muchines are actually full including at 9:00, 10:00 p.m . It would have been fine if there was an organization so that the people who came to train do not have to wait 20 minutes for each machine.

I used to enjoy going to this gym as it was close to me and a good membership price, but recently the gym is way too overcrowded even if it’s late at night like 22:00 there was 90 people in the gym at that time, it’s not a massive gym as well so you can hardly get on any equipment. Also I would like to add that people just leave the weights lying around after using them instead of putting them back which in fact is a health and safety hazard, I never see staff around either if you need to talk to someone just incase you need help with something etc, the amount of pervs in that place as well is disgusting as I know someone that had a photo took of her while she was on a machine and the amount that people stare, I won’t be renewing my membership again.

There are a lot of bad reviews here, I personally enjoy working out at this gym, Been using this gym for over 2 Years, all the Gym Staff members are friendly and chatty, Over the time I’ve seen some issues at the gym, and they do get fixed, for example I’ve helped my workplace I. (Estate Agency) background in a maintenance department and I can tell you for a fact that it’s not easy to find contractors to get things done ASAP, also. you’ll have to get quotes and wait for the approvals and then start the work, y’all need to get life fr stop complaining

Well equipped gym and PT service and competitive rates. However in recent weeks it feels like PureGym have forgotten to turn the heating on at Walnut Street, Leicester. I was put off training this week because the gym was freezing and unbelievably, the air con was on in the women’s changing room with no hot water either. My fingers went numb, I couldn’t grip the weights and I had to leave! Come on Pure Gym, you need to offer better basic facilities than this - is this temp and absence of hot water even legal under H&S?

  • Andrew L

Always packed due to overselling membership. The showers are pitiful in that they don't work properly, in either temperature, flow, or maintaining temperature; something they have done nothing about for years. It is a terrible gym to be a member of, with as much appeal as a morgue. And if you are a female, based on my daughters' experience as regular attendees, the persistence of pervy starers will be sure to make you feel uncomfortable most of the time.

  • Usman Khan

been a member for 8 years, but have noticed the gym is now becoming way over crowded. at 2100 tonight there were 146 people in gym. even the ventilation system could not keep up.there should be some sort of a maximum capacity cap. how can you justify 140 members in that space at once. there is no crowd control at all. love this place, made good friends, the manager is brilliant, staff is friendly, but just cant take the crowd anymore.

What can I say. I have a home gym in the West Midlands. This place is bad. We ha e gym etiquette whereby members have to put back the dumbbells back in their correct places not expect others to put them back. If I did not do this at my home gym I would run the risk of my membership being suspended. Why do you not have the same policy ? And also there is a lot of equipment that is out of order. Come on people you can do a lot better.

  • Priya Rathod

Equipment is good but hard to adjust as a lot are stiff. Showers are awful, 5 seconds you have to push pump hard. First it’s cold then gets too hot. Classes are all pretty much the same (some sort of circuit) instructors not very motivating and always cut the class short (all 45min classes are always 30min) layers of dust under all gym equipment. For the price you get what you get.

  • Mark Ruscoe-Romanov

Joined the gym this month and mostly positive. Well maintained and kit in good order. Only complaint is the heat of the water in the showers. Please increase! Also the heat in the changing rooms needs some attention. Far too chilly. Thanks.

  • Max

Pretty good but lacking some clips for the machines. Can also get quite busy although theres always parking. The owner acknowledging the fact that gyms get busier is fair. Although having more clips for some of the equipment is something

  • Lucian Jirlaianu

This place is getting worse by day. Overcrowded and without air con ON! This is a CRIME! I've asked the PT why they're not turning on the air the answer was "it is on but on low power" absolutely amateurs! There been a case few weeks ago

  • Kerrie Banaszak

The equipment at this gym is dated and poor. It’s not built for shorter people. My biggest issue, I was the only female in the gym after 7pm and there was a lad who clearly had mental health issues who somehow managed to wander into the

  • Alfie Jackson

Avoid this gym at all cost air con is never working the roof is leaking causing equipment to go rust and the machines are always broke and to top it all of the manager Celine barrow has banned my membership because I accidentally left 1

  • Jamshaid Ghumman

Gym facility is a top class. But there should be some instructors for members, if they don't want to use machines for atleast 15 minutes. They should leave the machine and give the chance to others members. But unfortunately, if anyone

  • Billy Billy

Terrible organisation and shocking gym etiquette by fellow gym members and even staff members, dumbbells get left all over the place and weights left on machines after use, nobody uses towels or wipes down bench after use leaving sweat

  • Lav

The only issue with this gym is parking. When you wanna go for a quick in and out workout you will most likely have to wait for parking in awkward areas whilst sitting in your car. Big weights area but can be crammed in peak hours.

  • Marek G

Avoid. Lack of aircon at this PureGym guarantees an unpleasant experience if you are doing cardio. There's also a stench problem. I am cancelling my membership, as this isn't what I was expecting from a MultiAccess membership.

  • R1h07 J

Good gym overall busy at peak times signed up and couldn't find a boxing bag which really disappointed otherwise all equipment works in good condition. In desperate need of some calisthenics equipment and a couple punch bags.

  • IULIU

Nice atmosphere, plenty of machines and spots to work on. A bit crowded at certain hours but you can track down when it's free using their app. Showers are usually ok, locker rooms are good. Never had any problem.

  • Jamie Mill

Very messy, dumbbells scattered across the floor. No organisation of bars, if I want to bench I will find a deadlift bar on the rack. The machines are poor, miles behind hammer strength and nautilus equipment...

  • fred east

Good equipment but crowded, smells worse than a normal gym mainly due to the primitives that haven't discovered deodorant. No PAPER TOWELS to sanitize equipment and unfriendly and verbally incoherent staff

  • G Singh

Leicester Walnut Street :The Gym is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and the staff are always helpful and support to your individual fitness needs.

  • Eszter Pócsi

I have only one problem in here. Sometimes the air is so heavy and the fun not working at all. It's make a headache. Part from this everything is okey.

  • Naila Abid

Step class at this gym is one of the best classes I’ve ever attended. It keeps me coming back for more. The instructor Celine is really good!

  • Marc Davies

Perfect gym for me working nights. Nice and quiet out of hours, and everything was accessible including changing rooms and showers.

  • Ronak Chitalia

I am ready to turn a blind eye to how busy the gym gets and the wait for the machines, given it's location and price.

  • Jurgita Skrodenyte

Overall not bad, but half of the machines doesn't work. Literally half of the treadmills don't work for a while now..

  • Amit Kumar Singh

Good gym great environment for workouts Hygiene Gets really buzy in evening 6-9. Check in app before u go

  • Katarzyna Jabłońska

I’ve been in many gyms but always I’m coming back here. In my option the best gym in Leicester

  • Baby boo

Showers are mouldy and majority of them doesn’t work ! DO NOT JOIN this dirty unorganised gym

  • Abhinay Reddy

Everything's on point except the toilets in the changing room, they stink most of the times

  • Alca Poyraz

Quality and variety of the equipments are good, changing rooms and toilets are clean too

  • Luke Draper

Good gym, has all the machines you would need, gets very busy at peak times.

  • subin scaria
