"Terrible if booked in advance"
"Really easy to park for events at Utilita and Theatres"
"Booked online in advance through Just Park"
"Great location and very easy to park, for everything Birmingham city centre related"
"Great evening rate of £6"
Terrible if booked in advance. Booked directly with the company on the website. They had my car registration (a standard number plate) so the camera should've raised the barrier when picking reading it, it didn't. The backup QR code didn't work either. Had to take a ticket to get in. Contacted the company, apparently was my fault somehow. But they said the it would work upon exiting as I'd contacted them about this after the issue getting in. Suffice to say it didn't! Neither the number plate camera or QR code worked! Had to press the help button and wait holding up people behind me. It's just useless, no point booking in advance if all its going to do is make life harder. Won't be using again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!
Really easy to park for events at Utilita and Theatres. I used the app to register my car and just drove up to entry / exit barriers and they just opened and payment taken automatically when leaving. Lower ground exit though was blocked and the car park backed up getting out after the events finished. A mixture of volume, people with barrier issues and local traffic outside, so we were (useful tip), directed up to the level 2 exit, which was a doddle and avoided other car park traffic, also helped getting on the main roads. Car park is well lit and secuirty on hand, so feels safe. Worth paying a little bit more that other car parks for, but check pre-booking as there were some evening deals on that could could save some money.
Booked online in advance through Just Park. Arrived about 11am on a Saturday. Barrier raised straight away. Lots of spaces, however they are quite compact with lots of pillars. We managed to squeeze into a more easily accessible one. Found it a bit of a maze to get out of but we went up in the lift a few floors and exited via the shops. On leaving at about 4pm the car park was full. The barrier raised straight away- no faffing with payments or tickets. Huge queue waiting to get in. Would use again and get there early for a space!
Great location and very easy to park, for everything Birmingham city centre related. Great variety of restaurants and bars overlooking the canal, with direct walking access to Brindley place and Broadstreet. This car park is well lit, feels safe and secure and is very reasonable for the city centre without having to drive around looking for spaces in the elements. I park here wherever I am heading whether it's the Mailbox, Brindley place or the Bull ring and high streets for shopping, all within easy walking distance.
Great evening rate of £6. Feels like a fairly secure car park. Number plate recognition worked flawlessly. Easy to navigate to. Only thing I was surprised about is there is no barrier to stop any people walking in, I expected to have turnstiles to use the QR code with. However, there were CCTV cameras on this one way in to hopefully deter unwanted behaviour, also witnessed staff on site at almost midnight on a weekday to help with this. Would definitely return again - a thousand times better than the NCP Car Parks.
Despite pre-booking for 7:30pm and arriving at 7:45pm, I wasn’t able to get into the car park until 8:15 due to the barrier seeming to be a one-out-one-in system, meaning waiting behind a queue of 4 cars for 30 minutes. Additionally, when trying to leave the car park the doors out were jammed and the lift did not show up meaning again being delayed for 5 minutes trying to leave. Would not park here again and will actively encourage others to avoid too - unless you don’t mind being made late by an automated barrier.
Good luck finding your car after you parked it. Lifts that go to no where. Signs that contradict each other. No signage to LG so everyone was looping around 1 and G not finding any spaces. Had to walk back to the car via the car only ramps as no other way to get back to car. Don't remember having this trouble a few months ago. Get your signage redone by someone that has actually been to the car park and tested it out. We met several other people as equally confused as we were.
Seems to have gone significantly down hill. Sat for 10 mins last night at the entrance because the carpark was "full" despite there being many, many spaces available on the upper floor. The EV charging points seem to be unreliable and installed in a mobile phone dead zone - which is silly considering you need to start charging with the mobile app. Considering the prices charged and the clientele targeted, its really becoming 'just another carpark'.
Just been trapped on this car park for over 30 minutes , pay machine took card and wouldn't then proceed payment. No answer to assistance call button resulting in us having to seek help from Malmaison Hotel reception who were excellent. Car park staff need to get their act together as this is one of the most expensive sites in the City. Really frustrating suggest everyone parks elsewhere until they sort themselves out
What a mess you have made of the mailbox. Appalling new payment system, took 20 mins to pay after machine swallowing ticket Then guess what - gone into next hour and charged me more!! I was not the only one, after sitting in the queue at barrier with others having same issue. Shame as was such a good Carpark and system before with the environmental friendly chip coins, now paper tickets that don’t work!
I arrived 5 mins and 15 seconds earlier than my booking and left 2.5 hours earlier. Yet I was charged £2.60 for arriving 15 seconds too early (as the grace period is 5 mins) Given I left a few hours earlier than my end time, I thought customer services would be reasonable in refunding this charge. However they insisted on the charge. Absolute joke for 15 seconds! I will never use these car parks again.
Well lit, car park that feels reasonably safe. CCTV present. Good access to mailbox amenities and city centre. A corner of the car park smelt of ammonia (wee). Open to pedestrians though no hoodlums seen lurking. Price of £22.50 at the time of writing which is a bit more expensive but what price for the cost of greater piece of mind. Would get 5 stars if it was obviously patrolled.
Pre paid for 10 June 23, to attend a concert. Arrive and they had barriers across stating the car park was full. The car park attendant wasn't very helpful basically telling us and other pre paid customers that a car park space wasn't gaurentee! Eventually he let us in, absolute joke, cause traffic chaos and made us late for the concert, which by the way was great (Elton John).
I drove to this car park specifically to use their charge points that they have advertised all over their website. NONE OF THEM WORK. I subsequently had to have the anxiety all day of driving 70 miles home in the hope of finding another charge point. None of the staff on site knew anything about it and the phone symbol on the pay point just rang out. Won’t be using again.
A good car parking facility in this busy area in Birmingham prime commercial area near to central railway station leading star hotels and also other famous good restaurants near by for the convenience of car owners. As there is no other parking facility exist in that locality the Q Park Mailbox parking facility a boon to car owners at nominal parking fee.
Yet even more super expensive parking in Birmingham. The earlier you shop, the cheaper it is, but only by 20p. Convenient for Harvey Nichols if you are collecting pre-orders. You might get a discount if you are staying at the hotel. The car wash has gone. The most positive thing say; it is clean. *UPDATE* May 2022- there is a new car washing company
OK car park. But don't expect any favours. I pre booked for 1.5 hours for £5.20; arrived 7 minutes after my scheduled arrival time and left 3 minutes after the scheduled departure time. Would there be any grace period? Of course not. I was charged an extra £2.60 for the 3 minute overstay. Missed opportunity for delivering good customer service.
Best car park to use if you are visiting mailbox or Malmaison hotel (whose guest recurves a 20% discount if booked in advance). Easy to find, bright and clean secured indoor car park with lifts access into Mailbox. But to get to the Malmaison hotel you do have to leave from the front and the hotel is immediately next to the car park.
Always my ‘go to’ car park in Birmingham. Well lit, clean, tidy and nice sized spaces. Spacious routes to drive and navigate around to find parking. Not only that, it’s well placed to reach most areas of the inner city. Yeah it isn’t the cheapest car park but with the added feel of safety I think it’s worth the extra. PCB ✌
A convenient and secure place to park. If you have an app, that’s even better as it automatically makes the payment. It records the entry and exit times by camera so you pay precisely for the duration of your parking. Plenty of space and it is also easy to get access to the shopping place on the upper floors by the lift.
Perfect location for centre of town. Price was decent too. I think I paid a couple of pounds for a couple of hours. Well lit and decently sized parking spaces where I can actually open my doors. unlike other cramped car parks Very convenient to pay at the barrier on the way out too. Definitely recommend parking here
This car park makes the Greek labyrinth look like a walk in the palk. Any daring car parkers who chance to enter this place had better have a background in escapology or a ball of magic yarn to find their way out. Nice lighting though. And spaces were a decent size (though rare to find them empty).
Sadly I contracted COVID, so was unable to travel. Asked for a refund of my £60+ fee to be told no. Asked if I could have a credit note for the rescheduled meeting (Date still TBA) was told no. So, for the next meeting I will tell my team to use another parking site so they do not get our business.
Expensive to park, even when booked in advance. No mention of clear air zone fees until you get fined 3 weeks later...would've been helpful if you were made aware of them when you parked....as you'd then know where the zones were .... Just a thought to be helpful to visitors to the city ...
Expensive but worth it, it's in the heart of Birmingham City centre and close to Hotels. But I think they should have 24 hours parking tickets that will allow vehicles users to exit and enter as much as they want. Most hotels dont have parking and this is one of the reliable parking around.
To Mark, Craig, Graham and all the team at QPark Mailbox, thank you for your support and great service during the course of our stay at the Malmaison Hotel, Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games. Efficient, friendly and always ready to help. Thank you! Carolyn Johnston Transport Manager
we were charged an overstay for literally entering 20 seconds before our time 20 SECONDS for goodness sake, I have gone through the channels to claim it back and the answer is pretty much pay up. I honestly think personnel should look at the computer and make a personal decision 20 seconds
Sat Nav couldnt locate car park. Took me pass it several times could see from flyover but couldnt get to entrance with road closures. With time being the essence, had to find alternative parking. As had pre-paid the day requested refund but was refused. Wont be booking again.
Pre-booked for Saturday 30th October to park in Mailbox using the parking special in partnership with B music in Birmingham, i was a bit apprehensive as it was the first time I had done this, everything went smoothly and I will certainly use Q-park again, thank you!
This car park feels pretty safe. It's painted white, is well lit and fairly clean. It's not cheap, cost £13 for about 6 and a half hours but I prefer it for safety to Dale End and it's a little easier to park than in the Town Hall car park which also has no lift.
Parked here today to go Xmas shopping Fantastic service from the lad who worked there help me Hope I got his name (Hakeim) right as I asked him to say thank you for guidance of the city and how to get back to the car park as it was my first time Thanks again :)
There are no signs to clearly display parking charges and very few signs to guide you through the parking levels After 10 mins I found a security guard who also didn't know anything and then I saw a tiny sign showing the extortionate prices £5 for 2 hours!!
Parked 16.30pm was there 2 hours maximum and was charged £7.80! Absolute daylight robery will not ever use again and will advise everyone I know not to use either. It clearly said outside the charge for 2 hours was around £5 yet we were charged almost £8.
Love parking in this place when going into Birmingham. Well lit car park, always pre-book so driving in and drive out no stopping..easy access to the restaurants and bars within the mailbox complex. Reasonable priced parking as well for the city centre.
Amazing car park, so clean and spacious compared to a lot of others around town. Its in a great location in the mailbox and easy to get to. Part of the car park shares a level with the shops and the signage is clear as to which side you need to be on!
Absolute spot on nice and clean, And just a stones throw away from the Hotel ,I parked my Land Rover at the Mailbox it was safe and secure no worries what so ever I highly recommend to any one wanting safe and secure parking near the City Centre .
Expensive place to park, fine of you want an hour but try staying a few hours it would be cheaper to get a taxi, come on mailbox some of us need daily parking at a reasonable price it's no wonder it's only half full during the week.
Booked parking deal for Elton John at the utilita arena, 5pm till 1am for £8.00..excellent value, advised to park at the far end on level 1 for a quick getaway, straight out and back on the A38 in a few minutes..well recommended..
Shocking customer service when the machines and barriers failed after spending £14.40 on parking. No one picks up, very dangerous for a woman on her own. Will never park here again, will advise everyone to avoid parking here too.
Modern. Bright. Secure. Easy to find. Convenient for central Birmingham. Quite expensive, although cheaper if you prebook. The online prebooking system works well. Beware on exit, new one way system that are not show in sat nav.
Clean spacious parking in a well lit underground carpark , situated close to Broad Street and the city centre . Reasonably priced for inner-city parking . Direct access via lift or stairs to restaurants and shopping above .
Slightly expensive parking but really good access to the mailbox and its facilities. The Q-Park app makes it easy to enter and leave as it logs time automatically, bills you, and lets you in and out automatically.
Very well located under the Mailbox. Access to alarmed variety of shops. Hotels, bars, resta6 and the Everyman Cinema. Access to the canalside with even more hostelries available including aboard the canal boats.
Good car park unless you enter the 1st floor……the exit back to the exit is shockingly tight……I have 5 series BMW, the exit is extremely tight to leave the first floor. Apart from that it would have got 4-5 stars
Very expensive parking however great use of technology with automatic recognition of cars and auto park app technology enabled here. Car park itself good standard, price really cost this review the extra stars.
Easy to get to, plenty of parking spaces. Good location for The Mailbox, The Cube, Brindley Place and the Alexandra Theatre. Theatre goers, get your tick validated at the theatre and parking is only £6.
pricey to park.. cost us £2.40 to park for 10 mins after 6pm there is also a height barrier too.. think it was about 2 meters lots of better places to park for less (and some are free) in the evenings
Clean and convenient for that side of town; Mailbox shopping, eating and cinema. Across the road from the New Alex. Theatre. Minutes from Town Hall, Symphony Hall, Broad Street, etc. (Not cheap!)
It's a car park, expensive and there are other options locally if you don't mind a short walk. Overall safe, secure and with easy access to all the eating and drinking venues you could wish for.
Prebooked parking and the machines would not recognise the QR code on entry or on exit. Ended up having to spend more money just to get out. I would recommend not to prebook and just pay normal
Easy to book online even if it is a little expensive. Turn up at booked time. Barrier opens and park anywhere. Leaving is just as easy. Drive to the barrier and it opens. Away you go
Don't use this if it looks busy. Spent 12 minutes looking for a space (spaces bring advertised outside). None found so left and then charged for the privilege anyway. Sharp practice.
Excellent parking facilities - straight forward to get a space. Only downside is that much like any other city centre parking, the cost is quite high - I spent £11 for 5 hours stay.
A lovely wedding anniversary lunch. Slight issue with our starter coming with our main, but quickly amended. Beautiful upgrade to the former restaurant. Italian cuisine recommended
Plenty of parking and qparks always feel secure putting my mind at rest. You also get a discount if you're staying at the malmaison, just get a ticket and show the receptionist.
Secure, convenient for work and lots of spaces. If you have the app and register your reg plate then it's pretty easy to enter and leave as you are recognised at entry and exit.
Booked in advance, pulled up it read our registration plate and lifted barrier and the same on the way out. Would definitely book in advance again, made it so much easier
First time used , great experience, although " very expensive " for parking, not great for people with families and elderly struggling with money or low income families
Really nice carpark. Well lit, lots of spaces in the evening when I visited and felt safe to park up there from someone outside the area. Piped music was awesome …
Very central but also very easy to reach - it's almost motorway to the door! Not cheap but a number of local hotels have discounted rates. Well lit and very secure.
Great car park, plenty of spaces, very bright, also has good security (Cameras and Guards) and has Electric car charging points on the upper level of the car park.
City centre parking so as close as you can get to everything. Be prepared to fight your way out though as the traffic can be a real challenge on the way out …
Drove in, drove round and round for 15 minutes, couldn't find one single space, drove out and got charged nearly 3 quid for the privilege. Absolutely outrageous
Clean, well lit & secure car park Not easy to get out of after a show at Alex or Hippodrome as everyone trying to get out at the same time onto small slip road
Guaranteed to find a parking space because the prices are way to high lol Very clean If u want to pop in and out of town then this is a good spot to park.
Great parking spot near Birmingham Central, which is about a 5-minute walking distance to town centre. Reminder this parking is in the clean air zone.
Good, modern car park with access to shops. Pre-booked but didn’t seem to recognise number plate on way out so had to use barcode/q code to get out.
Arrive early if you want to park. Carpark was full when we arrived so had to queue to get in and its 1 in 1 out. Bright and generous parking spaces
This is starting to be one of my preferred parking garages. If I'm going anywhere, I will check to see if they have a Q-Park garage anywhere near.
Good sized spaces, plenty of room but absolutely horrific prices. I thought Nottingham Intu was bad for gouging on cost, but this literal robbery.
Happy to let you in and attempt to park when there’s no spaces and will charge you for the pleasure of driving round with no spaces available
Fantastic location not for from hotels and the Utilia arena for concerts. Nice restaurants and seating area overlooking the river, very nice.
Gosh, it's expensive, but a great location. Seems a good secure car park although some of the lifts and stairs could feel rather threatening.
Excellent car park at a fairly reasonable price. Used it for a concert at the symphony hall so a ten min walk away but everything went fine.
Feels very safe car park and check out the car valeting place inside. If you have a certain priced valet they cover the cost of the parking.
Looking a bit tired these days. Nameplates in lift completely rubbed clean, paintwork in car park could do with refresh. Convenient though.
Great location and easy parking. Pretty pricey though that can be expected for its location. Not much more really to report for a car park.
19 March 2022 3:30pm-4:00pm Got Car Stolen. Was shocked this can be happened in 30mins from a secure car park. Crime reported to police!
Very good and secure car parking area. Be cautious taking a van inside, I took a vivaro in and was driving with my head down …
Great car park in a great location but pack an overnight bag & add on 6 hours to stay because you will get lost trying to get in & out.
Safe parking in high end retail environment. Expensive, £11 for 5 hours. Discount on overnight parking if staying at Malmaison Hotel.
Safe and well lit. Very convenient to restaurants. Easy to book online. Not many available spaces apart for ones by the big columns.
Good parking place. It's a little walk away from the city centre. Price is alright. Parking spaces are enlarge enough for everyone.
Very good for parking for the night and as its the centre of Birmingham we thought the price was OK also for 24 hour parking
Perfect, pre booked with Justpark, £8 for 24h barriers worked with my number plate on the way in and out. Spot on Tommy !
Everyman cinema seating is so comfy they sever you while you're in cinema food drink or you can eat in restaurant before.
Parked here for 48hrs whilst staying in one of the hotels felt very safe and secure charges good for city centre parking.
Absolutely shocking 11 o’clock at night and the barriers won’t open and nobody to assist. Stuck in car park …
Easy. Prepay on JustPark for half price parking. Just remember it's well within Birmingham's low emissions zone.
Ridiculously overpriced, So expensive!! cheaper parking available at all other car parks in central Birmingham.
Best car park in Birmingham. Remember to use the alternative exit upstairs to leave for an easier journey out.
nice car park when you can find it, not clearly signposted. rates are what to be expected for a city carpark.
Good secure parking, a little on the expensive side, but know your car will still be there upon your return.
Great location, big parking lot, good price!! Will definitely look for Q park parking lots wherever I am at.
Easy parking for Birmingham City centre. Only 3 stars because it was expensive, even just for a few hours.
So easy and if you overstay they charge you a little extra not a letter through door saying 60 fine …
Tight driving around. Somewhat expensive if staying at the hotel although they do give you a 20% discount.
Walking exits are not signposted clear enough. Walking around a good while trying to find my way out. Lol
Number plate recognition entry and exit, plenty of space, really convenient for events at the Town Hall.
Very expensive but clean and well maintained, Potentially very convenient depending where you plan to go
