Prepaid for the day at St Johns Centre car park at a cost of £21.50. When you arrive you take a ticket at the entrance barrier and when you want to leave you pull up to the exit barrier and press the microphone button (not clearly identified) and give whoever answers the reference number you were issued with when you paid. OK in theory, sadly the reality is something totally different. I pulled up to the barrier on 3 separate occasions pressed the button and waited for an answer for several minutes until someone pulled up behind me and I had to reverse out of the way and re- park. I went to a ticket machine in a different area and eventually someone answered. I explained what had happened and gave him my details. I was told to go back to the exit barrier and it would be opened. I did just that and waited in vain until there were cars backing up again at which stage I had to back them, up pull out of the way and park yet again. Went back to the same machine spoke to the same person and he assured me that this time he would actually open the barrier. Returned to the barrier for the 5th time and finally it was opened. This whole fiasco lasted over half an hour. Anybody who has ever had to back up cars trying to get out of a multi storey car park will know what a problem that can be. If any one is planning to use this car park DON'T PRE-PAY, IT'S A POTENTIAL NIGHTMARE.

Used recently on a Saturday night. The barrier let us in but it was a real struggle to find a space - we were circling round with others looking and fortunate to spot someone leaving. How ridiculous to seemingly let more cars in than available spaces! The spaces were very narrow between the pillars - a real struggle to park and get in and out of the car to the extent that I thought I'd strained my back twisting and stretching - horrendous. Also, the pedestrian exit way isn't clearly signed - fortunately another user pointed us in the right direction, otherwise we would have been walking down the vehicle ramps. Finally no continuous footpath at the exit way, so we had to walk a short stretch in the vehicle lane - not ideal. It was very clean and well lit but too many negatives! Feeling generous so two star rating.

My least favourite part of any journey is the parking experience - getting in and out of car parks, worrying about my car while I’m away from it, walking around the car park after dark, etc. From my very first visit here all my worries were gone in seconds; it’s super easy to get in and out, the lights are on a motion sensor and there’s overnight security so it feels really safe on those dark winter evenings, any time you encounter a member of staff they greet you with a smile, there’s even bins! So the place is spotless. A few people have commented on the price of parking but I don’t know what they expect in the heart of the city? For me, the price is completely justified by the location, the high standards, and stress-free parking! You won’t get better value for money elsewhere, fact.

Incredibly overpriced and tatty car park with very narrow corners making it pretty tricky if you have a big car. Parked there the other day and the fancy new contactless exit machine didn't work - kept asking me to tap my card and then eventually told me to insert the card instead. By the time it eventually let me out I'd slipped into another overpriced hour by seconds. Noone there working to speak to. Customer Service couldn't care less despite it being a quick and simple process to refund the additional hour. How you can justify no staff and faulty machines with the prices charged here is nuts. Ended up costing me £9.80 for two hours parking. Insane. Reached out to CS on Twitter and promptly got blocked! CS is as shoddy as the rest of their service it seems.

Had a problem with ticket machine, paid for parking and didn’t get a ticket to exit. Explained this to the vendor who eventually got abusive with me over telecom on exit. Ended up Paying twice as the vendor wouldn’t listen to me, even though I was showing them proof payment left my bank through banking app. Paid more than my original ticket, when I was forced to re pay to exit. Vendor then refused to answer telecom to let me ask their name. Disgraceful customer service when a customer genuinely needed help

A well placed car park for the Leeds Grand Theatre (5 min walk) and other city centre amenities. As others have said: the only problem is late night access as the St John's Centre closes at 6pm and the entrance is via a partially pathed ramp up from Merrion Street which requires some negotiating as cars arrive or leave. We and a few others, found the cashless, contactless payment system not the most intuitive to use. Some user improvement needed there I'd say. 2 stars off for the ramp and payment system.

  • michael hawkyard

Undoubtedly the worst paid carparking experience I have had in more than 30 years of driving. ....There were innumerable problems, beginning first with entry but more particularly both in paying and thence in trying to exit (which took in excess of 25minutes). The telecommunications facility was ringing out for circa 7 minutes before someone answered, during which time the mobile tel.no on the exit machine was called, only to be answered by voicemail.

Watch out for this car park which has signs placed directly in front of the CCTV obscuring the camera view. According to Q Parks both were installed on the same day but no-one then, or since in inspections, seems to think this is a problem. Don’t base your decision to park on the car park featuring CCTV as a security measure. Not surprisingly when my car was vandalised whilst parked there Q Parks couldn’t / wouldn’t assist.

  • K Roome

popped into Leeds to spend Waterstones gift cards from xmas, arrival easy, however on trying to exit the entire car park had shut down, ticket machines, barriers, contactless, we were trapped inside and others could not get in, trapped so long payment went into next hour! 18 cars trying to get out and no contact with q park anywhere, little kiosk lit up but nobody in it, never again.

  • Steve Noble

Well located with plenty of spaces which are quite large. However as others have complained before the bar code scanner on the ticket machines wasn’t working leading to large queues forming both at the machines and at the barriers to get out. Fortunately the attendant was very understanding and tried his best to keep the cars moving. Will think twice before pre booking again.

  • Emma Mamwell

If I could put 0 stars or even minus then I would. Late to a concert because staff weren't letting anyone in when there were lots of free spaces. Had already prebooked and paid for a space. Staff were rude and machines wouldn't work correctly with no help from staff at all. Will avoid in future and I would advise anyone to also avoid it.

  • Mark Elliott

Very disappointed here Lost my ticket fell out of my pocket called the assistance Said we don't have an ANPR I said can't you see what time I entered the car park No we don't have any information? So had to pay £26 the day price to exit the car park I thought it was mandatory to have Camera's in working order Won't use again

  • Juliet Roberts

Plenty of spaces to park but it was Sunday but great location as the club my daughter was attending a gig at was just across the road. Clean and I did see 2 parking attendants walking round picking litter. Paid by contactless payment which was nice and easy no messing around with tickets - city centre so price as expected

  • Rebecca Harrogate

Coming from Harrogate, this car park is at the right side of leeds for me - such a relief not having to go on the Ring road. Location is perfect. I've parked here a lot (usually in an evening) never had to queue, the barrier ticket machine did break once but a friendly bloke apologized and fixed it pretty quickly.

  • Jonathan Woodhouse

Disappointing! The shopping centre closed at 6 but the car park price drops only by 20p at 7 despite the fact that the only way in and out is via the car entrance ramp which is steep and has no pavement. Should be half price if the shopping centre is closed or at least provide a safe access and lift after hours.

  • Vasya Iarotsky

It was a joke !!!! On Saturday 25 October 2023 we try to park. In front of us were a lot of cars. We try to park, try all levels no space at all. After spending 10-15 minutes we decided to leave. At the barrier, we need to pay a fee for 1 hour-2.8 £. Absolutely disgusting . Scam. Highly do not recommend it!

  • Brighid Webster

On Friday evening, after seeing a ballet at Leeds Playhouse, we were setting off from the car park, when we realised we had a flat tyre. Whilst waiting for the AA rescue to arrive Peter(Parkingh Host) was really friendly and helpful. He made sure we were ok (We are all quite elderly). I am very grateful to him.

  • Alan Bell

Had a bit of an issue here recently when I was unable to pay on leaving (long story). Used the online chat to explain my situation and received first class customer service. Was concerned I would get a corporate policy response, (and a massive bill!) but received really quick and understanding help. Thanks!

  • Penelope Carroll

Couldn’t recommend this car park higher. Such a relief to know that my car is safe and secure. I felt assured that this clean, well-lit, well-run car park would be the best place to leave my car when I’m in town - I wouldn’t consider anywhere else. The parking fee easily justifies the peace of mind!

  • Sam Bradley

Of all of the car parks I have ever been to, this was one of them. Just.. floor after floor of cars, most of which I did not own nor had any opportunity to drive. I could spend literally minutes here looking at all the cars. If you like cars, and parking them, then this is the car park for you.

  • Chris Corvette

Parked after 6.30pm so only £7 for the evening. Well lit and attended. Excellent spot for the Merrion Centre. Cash machine does not accept the new £10 notes.. but the attendant was positioned at the machine to resolve the issue. Excellent. Would use again.

  • Sharon Hughes

Overpriced and little to no signage. The "No Entry" signs are miniscule and I regularly see drivers get confused by the layout and drive the wrong way. Also the pedestrian exit is poorly marked meaning people walk out the vehicle ramp which is dangerous.

  • Angela Parker

Perfectly located for First Direct Arena visit. Easy to use 24hr venue. Car park had good lighting which helped with feeling safe using the facility. Will definitely use again. On exit receipt supplied at exit barrier. Well maintained car park.

  • Graham Denison

Good car park for Headrow and immediate area. Only problem is late night access, St John's centre closes at 6 and entrance to car park is then via ramp or a dark stairway off Merrion Street. There may be a lift, but I've not found it...yet

  • Jamie

I parked here for less than 4 hours but was charged £23! because I couldn't find my ticket when I got back. It doesn't seem fair to be fined so much for such an easy mistake to make. It might not be much money to some, but it is to me.

  • Lee Shaw

Confusing trying to exit on foot. Poor traffic route which has vehicles enter and exit on the opposite side of the road for UK drivers. Road markings in dark colour and poorly maintained lighting. Convenient location a bonus.

  • Carol Fincham

Has to rank as one of the worst parking experiences. Pre-booked for event at Leeds Arena. Huge queue at the only pay station that was working. Bar code reader did not work. Had to pay a second time by credit card to get out.

  • Andrew Johnson

Excellent parking area I don’t like to leave my pride and joy in many places but always come back to the car knowing it is safe . Friendly staff too from attendant to management always being polite friendly and helpful

  • Chrissy Hunt

Parked here for 3 hours and couldn’t believe it was £9.80!!!! Living in York, I thought £2.40 per hour in my home city was expensive but this place is ridiculous. Stairway smells disgusting and is pretty shabby

  • Sarah Petty

Ok once you’re in but the entrance is quite tight with a high curb at the side of the ticket machine. You have no choice than to turn almost in to it. Great spaced car park and access once you’re in though.

  • Elizabeth Cooper

Narrow lanes between floors, difficult not to damage car. Small parking bays, lifts not easy to find and not many pay points I went to 2 floors looking for one. Extremely over priced.

  • Frances Andrews

Would like to mention Akram at St Johns Centre. I lost my ticket this morning and he was sympathetic and helpful in enabling me to resolve the situation. Thanks Akram.

  • James Hogg

Very well located, secure parking. There's great access to the city center and direct access to the St Johns Shopping Center. Pricing is premium, even for Leeds.

  • Dave Harriott

Very clean and spacious car park. Which is only a 5 minute walk away from the first direct arena leeds. You can pay your parking fee on-line or at the kiosks.

  • Sam X Ahmad

To expensive only parked for 2 hours an £6.50 Must be crazy avoid this. Terrible car park ever. 0* ratings!!!!! …

  • Snowflakes Areeverywhere

Good location for access/work on Albion street. 2m height room for T6 transporter although does look close. Tight manoeuvring between levels but ok

  • Matthew Lee

Very helpful staff, there was a really big queue for paying and the staff member advised if paying by card you could pay at the barrier

  • Robert Davey

No complaints. May not be cheap but is convenient and secure. Have to walk up the car entrance ramp after the shopping centre shuts.

  • Paul Dennison

Removed card access at carpark exit no warnings or notice only contact less payment won't be going there again cannot even use cash

  • Brian Taylor

Not a bad location but vastly overpriced and as others have said bad at night as entry is via the ramp. And spaces are tight

  • Richard B

Perfect location and easy to use parking system. Felt secure and very well managed. Had loads of space to open car doors

  • clare hepworth

Our car was damaged and I called to see if there was Cctv No one called me back as promised Poor customer service …

  • Peter Glynn

Really expensive and small spaces makes it difficult to get babies out of the car but clean and well lit so feels safe

  • Keith Warburton

Poor signage for leaving the car park on foot. St John's Centre was closed and had to walk down car ramp to exit.

  • Robert Smith

Car park always busy and now with number plate recognition must be careful not to get fines for staying too long.

  • Andy stembo

Great spot well located for city centre staff willing to help when my wife got court shot josh was able to help

  • Paul Hauxwell

No problems with parking, pre paid before arriving! No issues getting out. Nice and close to the Arena.

  • Daniel Smart

Easy to use and great location, on the expensive side but this is city centre parking.

  • Beckie M

Great place to park for The Key Club. Cross the road & you’re there. Will use again!
