Good place. Renovated. It's clean and orderly and the commuter trains are alao fully refurbished operational. They have a specific schedule each time and you just have to follow and easily move to your destination. The Station also has a restaurant that serves various foods. I like their early morning tea and Mandazi. It's right next to the bus station so easy to manoeuvre within Nairobi County

  • Edwin Bogonko

The Nairobi railway station is undergoing refurbishment thanks to the King Charles visit in the country. The tracks are being cleared and the engines revived to show the influence of the United Kingdom on Kenyan infrastructure. We give thanks to their efforts and making kenya realise the importance of railway in the economy. Maybe we will benefit on lower transport charges.

Used to have a huge passenger waiting bay which has now been encroached by Matatu saccos, for Ngong road including kawangware and Mombasa road, Kitengela and even Rongai routes. The overcrowding has made it invisible especially to those visiting for the first time . Always busy in the evenings and mornings when passengers either board or alight from the commuter trains.

  • Dorah Mwabili

1st time user, boarded the early morning train ride, direct to the SGR station. Its swift, charges are Ksh 50 bob and they also have a restaurant you can have your meals or breakfast at very affordable prices. The train departs at exactly 6:30 a.m and arrives at the Nairobi Terminus by 7:20 a.m

Rating based on... - Issuance of ticket okey... - Assistance from security on which train ... okey - Information from communication desk ... okey - Train timetable... well maintained... Help beat evening heavy traffic along Mombasa road from 1700hrs...

  • DJ Krowbar

Very clean, trains keep time plus or minus 5 min unless they have a situation at hand. At the time of writing this only Syokimau has multiple trips. The rest have two trips a day. The entry point is destination based like terminals in an airport.

  • Caroline

Pleasantly surprised by the commuter train experience! Couches are clean and not congested....and for the cost, it's a no-brainer. There is no better way to beat Nairobi traffic with all the ongoing road construction. Definitely recommend it!

  • André Kariithi

Clean and orderly. Payment method continues to improve but still slow as it is not yet automated. Self-service stations need to be installed to cater for this popular service. Trains are mostly clean. Windows could do with maintenance.

  • Ibrahim Osewe

This place is just amazing, they've renovated the trains they look way better and cool if you want to save some cash and escape Nairobi's heavy traffic jams this is definitely the means of transport to use

  • Peter Kamau

It's newly renovated, very clean. At rush hour you can easily board the wrong train. Ask before entering the train. The management should do the necessary to the loud speakers. The sound is not very clear.

  • Gerhard Birkle

Klein, aber fein. Personen- und Gepäckkontrolle, aber sehr freundliches Personal. Es ist nicht die schnellste Art zu reisen, aber dennoch eine gute Möglichkeit, Land und Leute kennen zu lernen.

  • Christine Katingima

A convenient and cheaper way to get to Sgr terminal. Ticketing has improved greatly. The restaurant has okay options, and the service is slow. Train cabins are old, and the ride rickety.

  • Yan Bankowski

An easy thing like buying ticket to Nyanuki online isn't possible. By phone train company is not responding. That's not smart, not cool. That's fkng ridiculous.

  • E. Hescque

The link train is clean. You have to be at Central station at 6am as the train leaves at exactly 6:38am to the Syokimau station. They charge 100bob per person.

  • Joseph Ayonga

The place got an awesome face lift. Looks nice and is clean. Make sure you know where your train is and that you are inside the correct train before it leaves

  • Holger Mühlbach

Super sauber und moderne, aber die Kontrollen nerven. Ich musste drei Büchsen Bier aus dem Koffer wegwerfen, weil man Das nicht mit in den Zug nehmen darf...

  • DONWILLLIAMS MURIITHI

Disability friendly entrances, smiley staff, well paved platforms and sparkling floors. The facelift was dope, the trains and NCR buses all look beautiful

Easy to access from the Central business district. Offers a better option to connect to the Nairobi SRG terminus without going through the traffic jam

  • Cantona Ken

Train services connecting the rail towns in Kenya and also to the main Rail service station - Standard Gauge Railway at Syokimau near Mlolongo (SGR)

  • Charles Kimwele

Clean, no directions from Haile sellasie avenue to station so got lost and entangled with a nightmare of matatus. Need a good coffee shop.

  • Public Noisemaker Mcee Azutopshutter

Was fun riding the commuter train..... but they charged 100/- for the bike, 50/- for transport..... I could have just ride my bike …
