The times on the board are not live or accurate! You have to ask the information desk for times. Overnight trains are always few hours late, expect other trains to be 30 mins late at least. Also the Ramses bus station shows up as the same location in Uber which is far away. There is no unloading or loading area for Uber, when you get dropped off be prepared to walk through extremely crowded downtown area.
Meeting at Cairo station to take the train is an experience to live at least once in your life... The staff I spoke to were very courteous. I also want to clarify that I do not speak Arabic and yet it was really not difficult to find my train
