Best rooftop terrasse in Morocco Riad d'Or is the most adorable Riad, very spacious and the largest terrasse we are yet to experience in Morocco. It is the most perfect spot to chillout, 360 degree views, designed for comfort and soak in the everlasting sun (there is even a rooftop pool) that we have been blessed with in this wonderful country. Sunsets and sunrises are amazing and listening to the call to prayer from the 28 nearby mosques, it's magical! The rooms are all unique and very spacious, beds are heavenly with a nice hot shower and great water pressure. The team make you feel at home, they are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much and you leave feeling part of the family. Breakfast is an abundance of pastries, fruit, fresh orange juice and Moroccan omelette. Coffee is excellent too! Dinners are very enjoyable and food is delicious. Restaurant is a great space overlooking a beautiful courtyard. There is many hideouts throughout the Riad, to find some quiet time to chillout and relax over some local tea with a great book, you feel like you have booked the entire Riad. Location is perfect and everything is a short walk, you are in the Medina so all conveniences on your doorstep, or a 6 dirham taxi ride away. Fantastic recommendation from their sister hotel in Dades Valley, Auberge Chez Pierre. Both are run from the same family and the quality of both is exceptional. Very consistent throughout both hotels and the cleanliness is as good as any hospital. The staff are so diligent in cleaning from top to bottom each day. Thank you so much to you all for welcoming us into your Riad for one week, it has been the perfect place to spend our last week in Morocco after 3 months travelling your most beautiful country. Chegamos em Meknes depois de uma longa viagem do deserto e fomos recebidos por Mohamed como se fossemos da família, nos oferecendo chá de hortelã com biscoitos, um quarto com terraço privado e todas as informações que precisávamos. A atmosfera, atendimento e simpatia natural dos funcionários fazem você se sentir em casa e seguro. O hotel é um complexo de 3 Riads antigas juntas, com inúmeros quartos, terraços, piscina, tudo funciona de forma organizada e a decoração de cada ambiente é linda e funcional. Os quartos são limpos, confortáveis, as arrumadeiras super simpáticas e não falta água quente no banheiro durante o inverno, mesmo com o número grande de famílias hospedadas na Riad na alta temporada. As refeições e café da manhã são fartos e deliciosos, você não sente vontade de comer em outros restaurantes da Medina, que não são tão bons e com atendimento rápido e eficiente como da Riad D’Or. A comunicação com todos os funcionários é facílima, além de árabe eles falam várias linguas, como inglês, francês, espanhol e também um pouco de alemão. O pagamento, diferente da maioria das Riads no Marrocos, pode ser feito com cartão de crédito, o quê facilita muito pois você consegue sacar somente €200 por dia nos caixas eletrônicos do país. Eu e meu marido tivemos uma excelente estadia, estacionamos nosso carro de forma segura há 5 min de distância, fizemos tudo a pé devido a ótima localização na Medina e, se você preferir, eles ainda indicam tour com guia que fala português. Recomendo a Riad D’Or para todos os casais, famílias, ou grupo de amigos que forem a Meknes sem dúvida alguma.

En tant que "routards ++" et gérants d'une association de voyages, nous sommes habitués à tout types de logements de tous niveaux, de chez l'habitant modeste aux riads de luxe (Nous nous adaptons à la demande) En repérage à Meknès, nous avions choisi le Riad d'Or pour sa situation et la qualité de l'architecture... mais on ne s'attendaient pas à ça !! La beauté du riad est incontestable, mais ça fait bien longtemps qu'il a perdu de sa splendeur. Délabré, mal entretenu, réparations approximatives, électricité foireuse, manque évident d'entretien, éclairage aléatoire dans les couloirs et sur la terrasse , piscine non accessible (pas d'échelle) voir même dangereuse et glacée, etc... Et je ne vous parle même pas de la couche de poussière et de sable qui tapissent l'intégralité des lieux jusque dans la douche et le lit... tout cela sans compter, en plus, 3 petits comiques souriants qui vous regardent avec un air bête et acquiescent sans comprendre nos demandes. Manque de professionnalisme, non formés à l'accueil touristique et encore moins à l'accueil marocain, qu'ils changent de métier... Quel dommage de gâcher un si beau site !! Non seulement nous n'y reviendrons pas mais en plus nous le déconseillerons à tous nos voyageurs et collègues du tourisme ! Ca ne vaut vraiment pas le prix demandé, on a logé bien mieux pour moins de 15€

Même si le lieu est très veau , le personnel sympa , nous avions réservé cet endroit car il proposait sur un site la piscine ouverte toute l'année ce qui expliquait le prix plus élevé que les autres riad, à notre arrivée piscine vidée... nous demandons un geste à la direction car surle site de résa il était indiqué que la piscine était ouverte. Nous rencontrons alors un odieux personnage d'une mauvaise foi incroyable qui nous dit que non rien n'était écrit sur booking ,je montre la preuve en image qu'il ne regardera évidement pas, il nous prend de haut et nous dit que nous ne sommes pas à Moscou qu'on ne se baigne pas à cet époque, et nous expliquons aussi que la veille au soir nous n avions pas eu d'eau chaude , pareil il parle fort et nous dit qu'ici nous ne sommes pas au Gorges 5 qu'on ne prends pas de douche à minuit... il nous dit que de toute façon lui ne peut rien faire car il ne travaille pas ici ( les employés gaffent et nous disent que c'était le patron....) bref je déconseille fortement et je suis dégoutée d'avoir donner de l'argent à cet odieuse personne , tellement de gens adorables à Meknes qui aurait mille fois plus mérité d'être rémunérées pour leur conseils et leur acceuil...

We stayed at diad d’or for 10 days in July, during our European trip from Australia. We took two rooms. One family room and one king double. Both fully serviced daily and a/c. However the room’s didn’t get as hot as expected during peak summer. Our 3 year old son lived in the pool upstairs that was in the shade in the afternoon. My Grandparents also found their room very comfortable. We were provided with a huge traditional breakfast including fresh fruit each each morning. Additionally if we needed anything specific we ask and they would provide it. There was plenty of help to get our luggage to the riad and up to our rooms as the stairs are steep. This added to the charm of staying in a traditional riad. WIFI doesn’t reach all areas strongly but I wouldn’t expect it to get through walls that are 500+ years old. Nothing was to much to ask for from the generous staff members. We would highly recommend riad d’or and we will be back next year.

Riad en plein cœur de la médina au top. Un accueil très chaleureux.un riad plein de surprises....des petits salons cachés ! Des chambres très spacieuses, un seul petit bémol les salles de bain ( nous avions pris 2 chambres) et les 2 salles de bain étaient bouchées, peut-être aussi rafraîchir les douches et la robinetterie. Sinon, tout était parfait. Une petite piscine sur le toit, avec une immense terrasse très agréable pour le coucher de soleil. Un spa en construction.....nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

The entry is dark and makes you think you made a bad hotel choice. No one seemed in charge. Very nice garden space and dining area in the truly lovely interior, ground floor. The Rhiad is a warren of often narrow and steep stairways that may not be appropriate for those with mobility issues. We had a large quiet room with beautiful ceiling. The pretty bathroom was up 3 stairs, a bit dangerous at night and had a strong odor of the sewer so we kept the door closed. Our beds were left unmade and the room could have been cleaner. Breakfast was all carbs, not great, and the place seemed understaffed, the manager overworked. The Wi-Fi was totally uneven throughout the premises. However it is also a bargain hotel.

Very horrible experience and terrible management, very rude staff, unfortunately, it's a very nice place, with an extraordinary decorations, the rooms were cosy and the air conditions is just a mess. They should be careful and tell people that there are no AC in the rooms or it's far from the bedroom. Otherwise, the Riad on the photos are totally different from what appears in the photo, the rooms were really dirty. Horrible breakfast and there is no payment machine be careful with this because it's a scam.

Le Riad d'or nous accueille nous et toute notre famille française pour un mariage, les chambres sont propres, climatisées, le personnel aux petits soins et très souriant. Nous avons été tous accueillis avec beaucoup de bienveillance, tous nos proches sont ravis, lorsque l'un de nous a besoin de quoi que ce soit, on nous propose des solutions, avec beaucoup de réactivité, jusqu'à nous accompagner au restaurant le soir pour ne pas nous perdre dans la médina, tout est proche, les monuments, la médina, le marché on peut quasiment tout faire à pieds. Chaimae a l'accueil est très organisée et disponible, l'équipe qui l'accompagne est à son image, au top. Je le recommande les yeux fermés.

Espectacular Riad con pasillos y escalinatas laberínticos, patios, árboles y flores que resguardan del calor consiguiendo un ambiente fresquito, luminoso y ventilado. Estas construcciones son una obra de arte de la climatización! El sitio es precioso, increíble el atardecer en la terraza de arriba escuchando la llamada a la oración. El personal encantador, como en casi todo Marruecos. Hay cosas que funcionan regular, pero se desviven por solucionarlas y que estés agusto. El desayuno bueno y abundante y lo sirven en el patio y salón donde solo se escucha a los pájaros, buena forma de empezar el día. La ubicación es perfecta, a un minuto de la Gran Mezquita, el plena medina y al lado de la puerta Bar El Mansour.

Siamo stati benissimo, dovevano essere 3 notti e son diventate 4! La struttura é bellissima, marocchina 10 e lode, un labirinto di angoli bellissimi a partire dal piccolo cortile dell'accoglienza fino al terrazzo con piscina su mille livelli. Staff simpatico, super disponibile, gentilissimo ed attento. Abbiamo cenato anche due volte mangiando benissimo e gustando cose molto diverse. Colazione abbondante e con qualche chicca diversa ogni giorno. Noi eravamo in 5, 3 stanze diverse tra loro, tutte particolari e curate. Meknes era la nostra prima tappa del nord ed é diventata il punto base per visitare anche Fes... ottima scelta! Grazie!

Habitaciones pequeñas y con baños de diseños "extraños", sin intimidad. Azulejos del suelo y zócalos rotos. Necesita más mantenimiento. Ubicade cerca de la medina, en zon que sólo es accesible a pie. Difícil aparcar en las cercanías. No nos gustó a pesar de las estancias comunes bien decoradas estilo marroquí.

Meknes it lovely city but the riad are not clean as the staff are not professional. THE OWNER even go to my Guesthouses in todra gorges and give me 1 stars but he never was there. Riad superlativo con vista mozzafiato dal roof garden dove è presente anche una piacevole piscina per rilassarsi. Davvero outstanding poter sorseggiare un tè sui divani della terrazza all'ora della preghiera serale mentre il sole tramonta all'orizzonte e le cicogne volano nei loro nidi.

La decoración del sitio es preciosa, las habitaciones son enormes y cómodas, como observación: el piso de nuestra habitación tenía una parte rota y era peligroso andar descalzo. El único problema que tuvimos es que en la cena pedimos solo un menú para compartir y nos trajeron dos. Al final nos tocó pagar dos menús y dejar la mitad de la comida. Además el precio era algo elevado, se come mejor en restaurantes afuera y a mitad de precio. Por lo demás estupendo, el personal es muy amable y nos ayudaron con un tour a vollubulilis. En general fue una estancia agradable, el desayuno está muy bueno.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte in questo splendido Riad. Posizione ottima all'interno della medina di Meknes. Stanze spazione e ben arredate. Bagno in perfette condizioni. WI-FI in tutta la struttura rapido e di facile accesso. Abbiamo approfittato del ristorante per la cena. Posizionato fuori dalla struttura (a 2 passi), offre una cucina tipica di buon livello. Servizio impeccabile, gestito da ragazzi giovani che sanno veramente fare questo lavoro; accoglienti, veloce, super ospitali, ti fanno sentire a casa. Colazione di buon livello. Consigliato! Peccato aver trascorso solo una notte !!!

Riad molto carino, in zona comoda. È formato da diversi edifici e se ci si vuole spostare internamente si rischia di perdersi. Ampia terrazza. Camera grande e confortevole, come in gran parte del Marocco il riscaldamento (a febbraio è ancora un po' freddo) è solo in camera per cui il bagno risulta un po' freddo, ma ci si adatta. La zona ristorante si raggiunge agevolmente uscendo dal riad e girando l'angolo. Buona cena, colazione servita al tavolo gustosa e abbondante. Un po' freddo l'ambiente dotato di funghi per riscaldare, posizionarsi vicino.

Wonderful Riad in the ancient medina with big rooms, a lovely terrace with a view over the medina and a very nice pool. The house is beautifully decorated and the room where we stayed was very confortable. The breakfast and the dinner were tasty in a typical Maroccan style. The staff is very kind and eager to help you. We had a very lovely time there.

El Riad es impresionante del siglo XVlll decoración exquisita a dos minutos de la medina. La habitación con mucho olor a humedad, el servicio por parte de 3isan no fue cordial ni profesional, quise ir al baño y me hicieron pasar a una habitación que no tenia todavía huéspedes. Preguntamos si sería posible cenar allí y nos dijeron que no servian cenas, me sorprendí cuando llegue por la noche ver a gente cenando, el desayuno, zumos, croissants y todo lo demás industrializado, malísimo. No volvería ni lo recomendaría.

Lugar ideal para descansar. Ambiente tranquilo y personal muy amable. Tiene mucho encanto, lo mejor, la terraza enorme con piscina y vistas increíbles de Meknès. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa, lo recomiendo!!!

Stupendo riad appena entrati nella Medina di meknes, la colazione migliore di tutto il nostro viaggio in Marocco , super terrazza panoramica . Camere enormi e bellissime . Purtroppo c’è stato una incomprensione sul pagamento finale , dove oltre la carissima tassa di soggiorno di 2,50€ a persona , voleva pure 7,50€ di commissioni , quando alla fine potevo pagare solo in contanti , allucinante , alla fine abbiamo trovato una via di mezzo ma non ho mai avuto questa incomprensione con Booking.com

This was our favorite riad in Morocco. It’s located not too far from a Medina gate so not as much walking with luggage. The building was so fun to explore with little hallways that lead you into beautifully decorated sitting rooms and up stairs to multiple terraces. The staff are very friendly and helped us book a private taxi to Chefchouen. The bed wasn’t as comfortable but we enjoyed the double room overall with the large shower and good water pressure. Big, yummy breakfast!

Un lieu magique. On dort et dîne dans un musée. Excellent cuisinier. Service attentionné. On y reviendra. Rapport qualité prix très bien.

J’ai bien adoré le séjour chez Riad D’Or , la position était parfaite et la structure tres belle. La petite déjeuner servi dans le charmant restaurant était excellent mais pas beaucoup de choix (salé et sucré). Le staff a été professionnel et gentil. La chambre même si était très belle avais un odeur de humidité, ils pourraient sûrement rendre meilleure l’implant du climatiseur pour faire changer mieux l’aire.

Un séjour inoubliable dans ce riad. Un palais d" une superbe architecture, un personnel agréable et discret, j'ai regardé les critiques avant de réservé est pour tout vous dire si vous cherchez du 5 étoiles alors c'est sur passé votre chemin,par contre si vous voulez vivre quelques choses qui sort du comum alors foncez...comme nous l'avons fait . We had a fantastic stay at the Riad during our short stop in Meknes. The reception was lovely, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooftop swimming pool and terrace area are definitely a highlight.

Camera fredda, stanza dove era posizionato il wc obbligatoriamente da ritinteggiare, accoglienza quasi inesistente, ambienti molto belli ma non li abbiamo potuto vedere perché tutti al buio, compresa la terrazza dove abbiamo potuto vedere una piscina vuota, pochi servizi, era il terzo Riad dove soggiornavamo decisamente...il peggiore.

Riad D'Or is in the perfect location in Meknes. Right in the medina, only a few minutes from the Medersa Bou Inania, one of the best sights in Meknes. The rooms are amazing, the salon downstairs one of the most beautiful I've seen in Morocco. Staff was very nice and helpful with any questions I had.

Atmospheric jazz and great smells greet you upon entering. Attention to lighting, cleanliness, friendly staff and good coffee! Hot showers and an awesome rooftop terrace await. We were able to buy bottles of wine and beer from the reception and bring to our riad. The hallways are a labyrinth of mystery to explore....

Es un lugar diferente y encantador. Las habitaciones se reparten en un edificio antiguo e irregular; la terraza superior tiene unas vistas espectaculares sobre la ciudad. El trato con el personal es muy cercano y amable. Reservamos con cena incluida y nos sirvieron en un local adjunto encantador, con platos elaborados. Muy cerca del zoco. Adjunto foto desde la terraza al atardecer.

El riad esta ubicado justo en el centro de la medina de Meknes...como todas las medina el camino para llegar un poco lúgubre. Una vez allí genial...muy atentos, desayuno bueno y algunas habitaciones eran de película. En general muy bien. Meknes muy bonito.

Je suis venu passer quelques jours au mois de juin 2022, j’y reviens aujourd’hui au mois de novembre 2022 pour quelques jours, l’endroit est simplement magnifique! piscine, terrasse, les chambres parfaites, très propre! Personnel agréable et à l’écoute très discret… vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés vous ne serez pas déçus.

Hôtel ravissant et très calme. Personnel très aimable et serviable. Chambre propre et agréable. Nous avons été accueillis avec un thé à la menthe et des pâtisseries marocaines. Le petit déjeuner est très bon et servi dans la très jolie salle à manger du Riad. Je recommande chaudement !

La jeune femme qui gère ce riad est tres professionnelle et sympathique aibsi que l'ensemble du personnel, Les chambres sont confortables et propres, la piscine sur le toit est un vrai plus quand il fait très chaud ! Séjour très agréable.

Un riad tres beau interieur, exterieur, avec un accueil et un service chaleureux. Vraiment rien ne manque à ce riad. La proximité de la medina, la vue panoramique sur la terrasse, la piscine et l'hote vraiment adorable. Sans oublier un excellent petit dejeuner typiquement marocain. Allez y les yeux fermes. Merci encore à l'hote.

J'ai passer un très bon séjour au riad le service était excellent les chambres magnifique un peux d'escalier mais ce qui fait le charme du riad

Le gérant du Riad et exceptionnel, malgré son établissement en travaux, il nous a quand même servi un couscous, mais vraiment très très bon, les légumes, le goût , si vous été de passage dans la Medina je vous le conseille. Merci encore.

هذا هو أفضل مكان على الإطلاق مكثت فيه في المغرب بأكمله. مميز. كانت غرفتي مصممة بشكل جيد، كل شئ مصنوع من بلاط الفسيفساء. ما زلت لا أصدق ذلك وأرسلت إلى المنزل جولة بالفيديو للمكان بأكمله! بالمناسبة، هذا الشرفة شيء آخر. اطلب الشاي هنا، قبل أو أثناء غروب الشمس، وارتدي أفضل ملابسك لالتقاط الصور. الشرفة!!!!

Riad stupendo. Forse il più bello tra quelli visitati in Marocco. Camere grandi e pulite. Tutto nuovo. Terrazza stupenda. Forse l'unica pecca, il wifi (presente ovunque) non è velocissimo

Personnels agréables, mais les chambres ne sont pas à la hauteur malgré leur superficie. Riad non adapté lorsqu'on a des bagages. Par ailleurs malgré un roof top spacieux, la piscine de petite taille ne semblait pas être entretenue...

Un riad magnifique c'est juste inopiné, inattendu de passer cette porte et arriver dans un autre monde!!! La terrasse est immense et sur plusieurs étages avec vue à 360°, le kiff! Le personnel est au top, très accueillant et disponible.

Riad au top, il est bien situé pour l’été il y a la piscine qui est assez grande pour un Riad bon point positif et les petits déjeuners sont copieux. Ils sont à votre petit soin et vous conseille sur la moindre information. Je recommande fortement, à très bientôt !

One of my favorite accommodations in Morocco! Very well decorated, nice breakfast and quiet. It makes us stay longer than we planned:) the bedding wasn’t so clean though. But would love to go back to Meknes just for this lovely hotel.

أحد أفضل الأماكن التي أقمنا فيها في المغرب. لقد كانت أغلى قليلاً من الأماكن التي نحجزها عادةً ولكنها تستحق المال تمامًا! كانت غرفتنا أصلية للغاية والممر رائع. الإفطار كان أفضل ما تناولته على الإطلاق هنا في المغرب.

Mooie Riad. Goede prijs/ kwaliteit verhouding vergeleken met riads in bijvoorbeeld Marrakech! We hebben genoten van alle terrassen en de overvliegende ooievaars. Hele aardige staf en heerlijk ontbijt.

Tradicional Riad a bit aged, with some care and dedication to detail could be a good one. Nice views from de terrace, prices reasonable, wine rouge very good, Very friendly waiters and maids.
