I do not think this review even deserves a Star!!! I had a similar experience a few months ago as the review about the misdiagnosed dog. At first I decided to let it go but clearly there seems to be a pattern in this Vet as of late. My Cat was allergic to flees (founded out from another vet) yet the Riverclub Vet diagnosed him with a skin condition, recommended very expensive food hyper sensitivity food that can only be bought at the Vet.......on top of this the Vet injected him with cortizone for the allergic reaction without even consulting with me first asking if this is okay that I give consent to inject my cat. I also got told that he needs to come back for a follow up - more money more injections another chance for you to mess up the diagnoses for another animal..... The funny thing is that this was never a food allergy or a skin irritation it was a simple and easy remedy of the Seresto Collar that saved my animals life. This Vet is not recommended at all please stay away from this practice, their prognosis on animals are deceiving and the mere fact that they treat your animal without consulting you first is not acceptable as this is self enrichment and you still go home with an animal that is worst off. All they care about is money and milking you as a Pet owner, they do not care about your animals well being. Stay AWAY!!

Very competent, genuinely caring vets and support staff. I will drive very far to find good service, when it comes to my fur babies' well being, and this is definitely worth the drive, and price. Bed side manner has been great when I had to greet my beloved dog, and they have been life-critical in treating my diabetic cat back to a lifestyle that resembles normal (whereas my previous vet told me there was nothing I could do when it seemed like the insulin was not working, Riverclub vets took the scientific, correct approach to measure, measure, measure and then adjust). My pets are my sanity, and Riverclub vet treats them with respect, compassion and knowledge. That, to me, is priceless. They work on a first come, first serve basis, no appointments needed, and they don't rush through the consultation and don't skimp on details.

What is the difference between a light dog flu and canine distemper? According to this "clinic" - there is none. R650 for consultation plus unauthorised injection for another R550, totaled to making R1,200 should have made this "light flu" go away. Well, it didn't and my dog is dead. I wasted 1.5 days due to wrong diagnosis, which I could have spent fighting for my boy in the hospital. No blood was taken, no test were run during this "consultation" even though, after I spent 1 hour on Internet, my dog had the text book symptoms visually. Maybe that's because you invited us for the second followup consultation next day? Maybe saving animals somehow became a secondary objective of this clinic. My advice to anyone who reads this review is a simple one: stay away from this money obsessed place, it will do no good for your animal.

Great neighborhood vet for the Sandton/Riverclub/Parkmore/Hurlingham suburbs. Parking in front and around the side. There's an enclosed grass area where your pet can relax, run around a bit and relieve itself if needed while waiting. Great little shopping area with lots of toys, treats, food and meds and the practice has a loyalty program! There's a pet grooming salon on the premises as well. All the Vets that practice from there are experienced and friendly and love your animal as if it was their own. The admin staff are friendly and pleasant and very helpful. There's also a puppy class that is run on Saturdays that is very good - great way to have your pooch associate good experiences with the vet from an early age.

I recently took my Fur Baby Amy for dental scaling, the level of professionalism from both vet and front desk staff has been phenomenal, warm, and an overall friendly experience. I was most impressed with the accompanying report that detailed each of the procedures conducted. I have been to three other practices in the past, but this exceeded my expectation. The pet handlers were also extra careful and very pleasant and not only did they look after my fur baby at the practice but they also put my mind to rest whilst she was in their care. I would definitely recommend the Riverclub Vetinary clinic to everyone who values the well being of their fur babies without the catch of hidden or additional expenses :)

Although I have only used this vet for years I am strongly considering changing. I brought my dog in for a scratch In her eye and was charged for the consultation and of course everything needed for me to treat the eye. I then brought her in 2 days later and was charged a follow up fee, which I might add was not much less than the original consult fee, to check if the eye was healing. I am very disappointed and feel completely taken advantage of.

Went through great effort to assist, was a bit irritated paying an extra R500 on the existing service on the public holiday. Vet couldn’t really diagnose, but I guess can any vet really tell, dogs can’t really explain their symptoms. The anti inflammatories worked

A little pricey, but I have been going here for 15years, and the service and treatment of my dog has always been very good. Note: public holidays they only work from 9-10am. And after that they charge a surcharge.

Dr Jono was thorough, caring and very patient. He explained everything to me with compassion and understanding. The staff were a dream as well. Definitely the place to bring your furry loved one.

Great vet if you want personal follow ups from them. But honestly the most expensive vet in Sandton. Ridiculously expensive - extortion. Not really specialist in any field as well!

Accompanied a friend to have her diabetic dog treated. Found the vet to be very professional, clear and thorough in his explanations and instructions. Very supportive.

Great VET... Easy to park and get your pup or cat in and out. Large waiting room and friendly reception. Love the place. You can also grab dog treats and food there.
